Sevilin frowned lightly as he was more or less put in charge of Piper. Though he should expect that seeing as Zahara was playing healer and she trusted him as well. Stupid fragile surface elves. However knowing they wouldn't want a public fiasco, he sat there and told the kids to sit still as well, though Dhairiss was worried now about the rest of his family. Let crowds ebb off then deal with things. Satisfied that enough people weren't paying attention he picked Piper up bridal style and had the whole of the brood follow him down from the stands and to one of the private tents they aways had set up. "Who thinks things are about to get eventful?"
"Apparently so. Everyone seems quite pleased." He wasn't, though he knew everyone else was. But he let Kaelin be proud and lead him and help him sit down and get out of what armor he had left, helping the healer in anyway she could as Zahara tended to his father. "How's my mother?"

"Yes, I finally managed to get him to take charge of something from me."
A slight grin at Zahara, wincing every now and again as she was working on him...but bond triggers that Piper was unconcious were not helping him from wanting to fidget and move and find out what was wrong.
"I didn't intend to put her through that much stress..I even tried to filter things out but I'm not very good at it."
Cerrilia was watching a healer tend to Valten, who was quiet as if he were dead laying there and letting the one tending to him work.
"So, you got what you wanted. was it everything you hoped it would be?"
Valten shrugged lightly.
"Yes and no. to face the blades, yes it was everything I wanted. I proved my mettle against the steel blades of Ebony and Malvolence. but they held back that last time. either out of respect for eachother, or myself, I may not know. but I know for a fact Malik D'vinn had more tricks up his sleeve then he used. as well as the younger."

She desperately wanted to conk him over the head with his own sword. Foolish man! She'd never understand their desire to tear each other to ribbons all for a title. Continuing the painstaking work of threading nerves and sinew back together with magic, she glanced up for a moment in sympathy. "There was nothing to be done. It was better for her to pass out, Malik. The bonds were driving her and the babe into areas you don't want them in. She's being watched by Sevilin and he'll alert me if she needs anything. You need to focus your attention on being able to walk again. If I were you, I might be fearful that I won't."
"Except you." She'd never fully understand why he couldn't take the glory that came with a well-deserved win. "I...don't know. She was holding her head and rocking during the fight and then she said something about passing out. I think she did...but Lady Inthara said she was going to find someone to take care of her. You need to worry about yourself right now, Khai. You took a hard beating out there." She shuffled her feet. "Scared me...to death."

"I don't exactly find it fun to tear apart my own father to try and win something." Truth be told, his father had been playing with him anyway, or so it felt. There were so many more tactics...so why hadn't he used them? As for his mother...well that didn't make him happy but he didn't say anything to it. "The thing about taking beatings mean that you're only going to hurt more in the morning. Right now the adrenaline is still going." Though his back was still killing him as was his side, quite evident by the way he was sitting. But he tried to put on a happy face for her. "No need to be scared, I'll be fine. You'll see."

"I walked out...well...relatively anyway. I should be able to still walk..and I trust your skills. if there's a chance I will walk, you will find the way to make sure it works."
he knew what his son was thinking. he could feel it. they both knew malik had a plethora of abilities and skills that might have toppled his son if he'd used them. the harm touch, lifetaps...shadowstepping during the fight among them. but his son as well hadn't used any of his tricks either until his father had pulled one out. and Valten had no such gifts.
"As soon as I can I'd like to see my son though."

She was pleased with his response and nodded. "That's the only reason you still will, because I'm good at my job." It was backbreaking work since each piece had to be carefully sewn back into place with the aid of magic and it seemed to her that it went on for hours and hours. In reality it didn't take her nearly as long as it might another healer and she took care of his other injuries in an even shorter time. Still, it was a few hours before she finally gave him the okay to see his son. "You need to use that leg but don't push it. And don't excite him. If either of you end up with a single cut, scrape, or bruise, I won't be responsible for what I do."
She stayed back and let the healers do their jobs, standing at his side only to keep him company. It didn't sit well with her the amount of pain and anguish he was going through but she could tell he wasn't pleased about his win. Going to the mouth of the tent, she glanced back at him. "Your father's coming to see you..."

"Zahara is going to hurt me, isn't she?"
Handing her a cup of water, he nodded. "Most likely. You or them. Or all of you. Depends on how tired she is."
"Well...I'm glad to see you're as carefree as ever despite my state of being."
"Someone has to keep things normal for you." Raising an eyebrow though, "You look like you're about to throw up...can you try not to?"
Oh yeah, there was going to be pain that lingered for a few days and he was quite happy to keep his promise to Zahara to lay around in bed for a few days. His back felt like it was a complete wreck. But he raised an eyebrow at her and lifted his head some from where he was resting on a cot at the moment. "He's walking? Then again...I'm not surprised."

He gave a slight grin and a nod.
"Not one scratch, nick, cut or bruise. Go see Piper, if you would. I know you're dying to."
before heading over to Malikhai's tent, limping but moving anyway, and giving a nod to Kaelin and settling in a chair by his son.
"How are you feeling?"

"Like I've been trampled by a herd of wild nightmares." To put it lightly at least, and pretty much as close as he could come to how he was feeling. However, the worse part would come tomorrow when the soreness set in and spread."I see you're feeling just fine."

"Not fine...but I'm a soldier. we were trained to march with grievous injury matter of fact, Zahara for a bit wasn't sure I'd be walking at all anymore."
He reached over, and patted his son on the leg.
"I'm proud of you, you know that. You stood your ground, you gave it almost everything you had. we both know we held back on the magic tricks."

"But she fixed that. She fixes most anything I'm convinced." No one denied Zahara was one of the best healers in this part of the underdark, that was for sure. "Which I still puzzle over." Cringing some as he tucked his arms behind his head to stretch his back some. Oh yes it was going to be horrible tomorrow. "You can be proud all you want and Valten can leave." Or he'd beat him into the ground.

She couldn't go see Piper until she'd overseen the others being healed and made sure everyone was getting what they needed. Her skills were recruited a few more times so it was another long while before she was finally able to locate her husband and his charge. She was bone-tired, covered in blood, potions ingredients, mud, and various other stains that it was better none knew the cause of. "How is she doing?"
She stayed quiet, still standing at Malikhai's head and just listening. Malik hadn't killed his son and his son hadn't killed him. Had he let Malikhai win? It wasn't a victory if that was the case.

"I think we both knew if magic tricks came into play the field was decidedly one sided. Magical prowess is one thing that only time can make a match of, becuase even if you knew every magical trick I did, and vice versa, my versions of the same tricks would be stronger simply because I'm older."
A frown though.
"You don't seem overly pleased though. in fact I'd wager your not happy at all."
leaning back some and crossing his arms.
"And I doubt he's going anywhere. at least for awhile yet. No more then Cerrillia is."

"She's trying not to throw up so she doesn't make me want to clean."
"Which is very hard, mind you. But I don't want to do it anymore than you want to know I am indeed doing it." Shaking her head but other than that trying to stay as still as possible for the moment so as not to add to how she was feeling right now. "How are the menfolk?"
"And I would hate to have to deal with your magics. Even I'm not that stupid." Did not want to be on the receiving end of one of his father's harm touches either. That would just be a nasty experience. "Forgive me for not enjoying all of that like the rest of you. I suppose I just don't have it in me." Which yes was mostly a lie...he did so enjoy beating the life out of Valten. Good opponent if anything. Turning a look over to his father at that notion though...which wasn't so bad. Staying was not the issue, it was the trouble making they tried. Though perhaps Valten was a tad more respectable.

With a shake of her head, she reached into one of the many hidden pockets on her person and pulled out a vial of red liquid. "Drink this and that worry will be over." Stripping off her soiled gloves, she began to use a rag to clean herself up. "Just as stubborn and foolish as ever. I had to stitch Malik's leg back together so he'll be in a great deal of pain tomorrow. As for Malikhai, his back is ravaged. It's always the back with that boy..."
