Lord Demons Bane

That got him staggering, avoiding the sword blade back yelling anyway as his hips wound tore some more, exposing a hint of bone, and he growled lightly and hobbled back some. His son was doing a fine job as he expected he would, but malik wasn't about to even come close to rolling over.

He caught his son at the wrist, and used his own momentum to thrust him forward but no before he jammed the pommel of his blade into Malikahi's injured side, and coming down with his own sword as swift as he could. if his hip got any worse, he'd have to start pulling magic tricks to move around like he needed.

Normally suck a thing wouldn't knock the wind out of him, but being as aggrivated at it was he gave a yelp before it was cut off as the air was forced from his body. How fitting. Concede year after year only to lose when he did take it all to taske. He was quite sure that now all his previous concessions would be seen as fear induced. Great.

He stumbled forward, lungs still burning for air and thew and arm back, his father's sword crashing hard against the armoring still on his forearm as his son was scrambling to get some distance between them and to catch his breath without getting run through with a sword at the same time.

However he couldn't help but be worried about his father's injuries as well. Malik never cared how much he messed himself up and he was in the heat of battle...and his mother was watching. His father getting more and more hurt without pause, him getting hurt, it would all feed back to his mother adn his unborn sister as well. The more they banged on each other, the worse it would get. With battle fogged minds...it was easy to get lost and forget such things but that couldn't happen. Which meant he had to win for her.

Catching himself on the far wall, he drew in a few steady breaths before he pivoted quickly on his boot toes and bolted across the dirt in a dash at his father, hurling himself into the bigger elf and sending them both falling down into the dirt with him on top, jamming a knee into his father's hip.

His injured hip made him too slow to move aside and they both went to the ground, and another loud yell as his son took his injury to task, and blood spurted from his armor's injury and Malik flat out beat his son on the back with his sword pommel just to get him off, but damage was done. Malik was having some serious trouble trying to get to his feet, and even had to shadowstep to do that.

blood was now literally running down the armor in between and around the joints of it...but he held his sword up, still willing to face his son on all fronts.

Now they were on to shadow stepping it seemed. Which left him in the dirt cringing from taking a quick beating. Using his sword to help himself get back up he cringed again. Great now he couldn't even stand straight what with his back taking another round of punishment and not healed only soothed from earlier abuse. Letting his head loll back for a moment he willed himself to push pain aside. If he was going to lose, his father was going to have to beat him unconcious to win.

His own left side was soaked through with blood, more only being drawn from this all, even as they were once again still for a few brief seconds. The advantage was to keep on top of his father so that he couldn't recover fast enough...but that was proving a challenge. And now with the shadow stepping...well that meant the rushing to knock was out.

Lifting his sword once more he approached slowly this time, gauging a new tactic

Malik was quite slowly limping around, keeping an eye on his son. his leg obviously wasn't going to support any kind of heavy or rapid movements, hence his use of shadowstepping. but he used it to jump to his son and collide blade to blade in swift motions, looking simply wear down and overpower his son.

He expected the man to be on top of him in a moment's notice and brought his own blade up to defend as well as backstepped to keep from toppling backwards. However that was easier said than done and he found himself starting to fall backwards. Though, he kicked out an armored boot, striking his father in his good hip before he poofed out of sight before hitting the ground and popping back up at his father's side, slamming the same spot with his sword pommel. And of course scrambling away some quick as he could as he knew his father's blade would be coming down on his head otherwise.

Aella shrugged. "People get picky about their sleep. They don't tend to like it when you're up and about every couple of hours." She sighed. "Too used to sleeping in shifts. I'm worse than a baby. Haven't slept through the night in years."
PostPosted: Sat May 16, 2009 9:22 pm

"I sleep like the dead I'm told. nothing moves me or wakes me outside of perceived threats. I'd be fine with you as a roomie."

A chuckle to her and a smile, lightly running claws through her hair in just as a friendly gesture and patting her leg lightly.

"So what would you like to do while we got some free time? shopping? sight seeing?"

A snarl as his other hip took a beating, and his son just barely dodging a blade that probably would have left a nice deep gash in his torso. and limping, dragging his leg some and keeping pressure still on using the length of the blade to keep his son scrambling

This man was not going down and was running him around like a wolf chasing a rabbit. A match that looked very one sided to the common man. And he was starting to feel that way. The rabbit being run around, trying to be clever without being eaten to prove that he wasn't just a meal and didn't know better to go hide in a hole where wolves could not dig into to get him.

Pausing in his scrambling he turned on the man and locked their swords up, turning it into a sudden shoving match. He had the advantage there as his bottom half was still quite capable. The longer they kept this up, the longer connected things twittered and fluttered. And if he wanted to win he had to do it soon, or was going to have to take the fall.

His leg did eventually betray him with a loud tearing sound, probably meaning that the muscles had torn down the leg further and Malik fell down heavily on his side with a verifiable scream, and trying to get back to a standing position...and knowing already his leg wasn't going to support his weight any longer...at least not without lifetapping his opponent and frankly he wasn't about to do that to his son. but he still swung froma semi sitting up position, putting up all the fight he could give.

He hated it and hated himself for it. This was why he never wanted to do it...because he knew what he would have to do to take his father down and knew he would feel no joy in it, no pride, no accomplishment. There was no way to take emotion out of this fight and here he was maiming his father for what? For his mother...which was a nice extra twist to this whole affair. If he was feeling this sick, he couldn't imagine what was getting through to his mother.

Flipping his own blade in his hand once to hold it backwards, he grabbed let his father's sword hit the hilt and grabbed the blade with his hand. Malvolence could taste all the blood it wanted, he didn't care. It had had more than enough today anyway a little more would not hurt. Blade stalled he landed a kick to his father's chest to push him down to the dirt again, that same coppery taste rising in his mouth with the action as it had with every action before...but it wasn't the taste of blood he knew that.

Forcing Malik's arm to bend he threw his own sword bearing arm over the other, crossing both blades and forcing them toward his father's throat. Not that he would hurt him that way, but the message with the action was clear to crowd and competitor alike if he could force the blades that far without getting suddenly turned on...which was something you always expected when it came to Malik D'vinn.

"Allowing her to suck off all your energy doesn't help anyone in the family. Malikhai wants to give you his and Malik has strictly forbidden it." Shaking her head. She rose to her feet as armor was stripped off, watching blow after blow hit and calculating the damage being done. Malik would have to be tended to first. The longer his hip wound lay exposed to elements the worse off he'd be. Not to mention the sheer amount of blood he was dribbling onto the field. "Call it, dammit...call it." Glancing back at Piper to make sure she was okay all at the same time. If something went wrong, she was personally going to run the coordinator through with her daggers.

Kaelin wasn't faring much better. She'd gasped when Malikhai had stripped his armor off and relaxed slightly when Malik followed suit. But the fact that Malik was Khai's father meant little to nothing to her. How many times had her own father raised his blades to her? More than she could count. Sharing DNA wasn't enough to keep another from killing you. She let out a cheer when Malik's hip gave out, keeping her hands clenched tightly in her lap and waiting to hear Malikhai pronounced the winner.

Malik held his son off as best he could, and there were things behind the fierce competitive grimace. Pride. pride in his son's ability, in his willingness to go the distance if needed. and he was holding his son back some, before flinging his son to the side and giving him a wave aside. Malik was concedeing this one...his leg was torn up, and he his side had torn worse as well. bloodloss was going to cost this match for him before too long, and he'd rather concede on his feet then lose by being dragged off the field.

Piper by that point had her hands over her face, refusing to watch as those two went at each other and knowing that neither of them were going to stop until one of them was too torn up. "I think I'm going to pass out." She was feeling lightheaded over things that transmitted over bonds, even if they weren't meaning to and that upset the little body renter.

He gave a frustrated noise as he was easily thrown aside again. It never mattered how close he got, he knew that Malik just didn't go down easily. Thus he laid there in the dirt a moment, knowing full well that he was about to be pounced on...but the pouncing never came and he looked over to the other laying in the dirt with him, giving him that commonplace gesture. What?

Did he just win? He wasn't sure he was processing right over the noise of the crowd, and judges and others alike. Though he did know one thing...Getting to his feet he moved to his father again, offering his hand and helping the man to his feet when he did, letting Malik lean on him despite Khai being about just as unable to hold his own weight. It was principle though. Still wasn't sure about this all though, and thus just stayed quiet.

Zahara settled a now-unconscious Piper with someone who could handle her and take good care of her and she made it down to the field. She was not happy and she was in healer mode. Snapping out orders, she had both D'vinn's carted off the field and led to a healer's tent, treating Malik personally. That hip was just bad. Just all around bad. Soon she was covered in blood and working hard to staunch and correct the nerve damage that was fairly extensive. "Congratulations, Malik. You finally lost to your son."

She echoed Piper's sentiments exactly and felt rather nauseous. Watching father and son go at it was too much for her, and she truly wasn't sure who was going to win or how it was going to come out. Malikhai appearing to win had her cheering with the rest of the crowd but she waited for the official declaration before she ran onto the field and supported Malikhai to the healer's tent. "You did it..."
