Terryn nodded as she kissed him back. "I know." She still felt a little guilty though. Curling up in his arms, she placed her hand absentmindedly on her stomach. "Are there many thieves in Greece? Is it...is it a safe place? You know, for children."

Marcus smiled. "I believe so. I've been here twice before and I have never had anything of mine stolen. That's more than I can say for most other countries."

Terryn nodded. "That is good." She glanced down to her stomach and then back at Marcus. "And the schooling? Will they teach in English as well as Greek? I would assume that there would be a good deal of art and philosophy taught as well."

Marcus nodded fervently, although he wasn't completely sure. "I know that they teach in Greek and Latin, and I assume we could teach English to our children." He looked delighted by Terryn's train of thought. "And the sciences are excellent too, here," he added.

"Yeah? Will they teach alchemy?" Terryn propped herself up on her elbow, glancing down at him. "I mean the real type of alchemy, not those silly branches that go off to find the Philosopher's Stone. I do not need to be breeding more Nicholas Flamels."

Marcus hesitated. "I don't know if it would be something taught to all school children. I suppose that we could find some skilled alchemist willing to take on a pupil. Greek astronomers and orators, though, have reputations around the world."

"Yes, I have heard of their reputation." Terryn smiled at that thought, not quite sure what was spurring this conversation of hers. "Besides which, I think it would be good for children to grow up learning more than one language. It will definitely help during their travels."

"Especially if he decides to maintain my estates," added Marcus. He realized his mistake a moment too late, and smiled sheepishly. "He or she. The child."

"Well...there could be more than one." Terryn shrugged her shoulders. "I miss my brothers. It is rather lonely not having any siblings to grow up with. I would want my children to have at least one sibling...maybe two."

Marcus nodded. "That's fine." It seemed that Terryn was currently undergoing a change of heart. Not that Marcus minded in the least. "And not too far apart, either. I think that part of the reasons my cousins and I were so close was because none of us were very far apart."

"Right, but not too close either. I was only a year behind my eldest brother and we got into some awful fights." Terryn rolled her eyes as she recalled the various rows she got in almost daily with him. "I would say perhaps two years between each."

"The same thing happened to me. I rather enjoyed it." Marcus shrugged. "A year between the boys, and we can give the girl some room," he suggested. "Two years, if you'd like."

Terryn chuckled. "Marcus, you do understand that I can not determine which will be a girl and which will be a boy, right? That is left up to fate."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 23, 2007 5:55 pm

"Oh. Right." Marcus was silent a moment. "That's right. Then two years would be the safest approach, I suppose. But I do want two boys and a girl," he told her, as though he might coax her into producing them as he wished.

"Well good for you. Now you just need to become a wizard." Terryn scrunched up her nose at him and stuck out her tongue. "I would have no problem with two girls and boy though. Or one of each if two become enough to handle."
