 Daren sighed, "i'm not-" but he didn't like lying to Tim, "i just didn't want you to-well, be reminded." he gave Tim a little smile, "sorry, just," he sighed and rolled onto his back, looking up, "besides, my face is all prettied up for you to enjoy. that's enough for you, right?" he shrugged, "if you want to see me all beat up i can take my shirt off for you. might make your feel better for everything that has happened."

 "You make me sound shallow, Daren." he murmured with a soft smile, moving an arm out from under the blankets and shifting, clinging tight, resting his head on the man's chest. "You don't need to. I just want you to feel comfortable. Don't force yourself for my sake, okay?" He let go, propping himself up on his elbows to look down at him. "Don't let me force you to do anything. You can keep it on."

"Sorry," Daren said softly, closing his eyes, "i didn't mean it like that. sorry. just, guess my body is readed, but my head's still catching up. you know? just not all here i guess." he rubbed his eyes with one hand, "i knew you didn't mean it like that, sorry. i keep messing up, don't i?"

"It's all right." Tim gently started to stroke and touch the black hair in a comforting manner. "That's all right. Take as much time as you need, Daren." the red-head slowly laid back done, once again head on Daren's shoulder and an arm wrapped around him. "You never mess up, Daren. I can promise you that."

Daren snorted, "i've messed up more times than i can count. even with the short time we were roommates, i messed up over and over again. and you were the one to pay for it." he let his arm move around Tim, hugging him back, "i guess-i mean, i don't really mind these wounds because they mean it was finally me that got hurt and not you. for once you didn't have to pay for my stupidity, and i was grateful for that. you might not agree or might think i'm being stupid, but that is honestly how i feel."

"No, that makes sense." he closed his eyes, listening to the man's heartbeat. "I think that's a good feeling to have." Tim himself had never felt it, but it must have been something nice. Then suddenly the doorbell was being pressed a mile a minute, the red-head chuckling. "i wonder who that is." Forcing himself away from Daren he moved back to his side of the bed, standing up and putting on his glasses before walking to the front, opening the door. "Medication!" and held up the small plastic bag filled with orange bottles and two days of the week pill box. "Uniform!" and held up the duffel bag. "Uniform?" Tim asked, taking both bags, putting the plastic on over his shoulder as he opened the duffel. "We have a game tomorrow! How could you forget?! The finance team is against, the IT Department!" "Ah that's right. I'd completely forgotten." he murmured, closing it back up. "Daren!" he shouted, "Daren me and you need to talk as well! Tim won't let me in! and bounced in the doorway, waiting to be let in. Which Timothy wasn't doing.

Daren got up and ran a hand through his slightly longer than he'd like hair. he needed to get it cut soon, before it drove him mad. he walked to the front door, Andy's voice a bit grating, but he'd gotten used to it these past few weeks. "You and I, Andy, not me and you. Tim can let you in or not as he likes, i don't care. though. you are too loud, so maybe he should keep you out. save us both a headache." he gave a little smile and looked at the duffle, "baseball, right? maybe i'll come and watch, not like i'll have anything else to do for a while."

"No baseball talk right now!' Andy said, cutting off Tim causing him to frown. "Daren! This is mucho grande importante! You must watch Tim take his medication and check! He likes to pretend to swallow it!" A quick look of shame and guilt crossed the red-head's features, looking down and away from the two, gripping the bag tighter. "he needs to take his anxiety medication or he can't go to work! He needs to take his anti-depressants or he won't get out of bed and you'll need to keep the medication away. He needs, needs his sleep medication or he'll be up all night watching television. And he needs his weird energy pill in the morning or he'll be sluggish all day. Is that understood?" "I take my me--" "lies! I have seen more than one pill in the trash and I have heard you spit and flush them down the toilet! It's not healthy!"

Daren crossed his arms and looked down at Andy, "yes and hounding him like this doesn't cause anxiety at all, does it?" he asked, lifting an eyebrow. "back off, he might hide and not take them with you, but he won't with me." he looked Tim in the eyes, "he knows better than to try and lie about this to me. pretending to take your medication is a lie and you know how i feel about lying, Tim." he gently placed a hand on Tim's shoulder, giving it a soft squeeze, "it'll be ok. besides, he already took a nap just fine, so i'm not too worried about him sleeping." he looked back at Andy, "you should go. if you keep nagging him, he'll need an anxiety pill just for your visit!"

Andy puffed up his cheeks in anger. Daren looking at tim like that would cause anxiety too! Tim wasn't even looking at either of them at this point! "Just watch anyway. Traumatized people are very good at lying, and you'd know that, Daren Aomine." And he turned with a huff, closing the door behind himself. Tim at this point was clinging to the duffle bag, his shoes the most interesting thing in the room. "You really shouldn't make him mad. Now he's going to send hitmen after us." and gave a small smile up at Daren before looking back down, feeling like a dog who was in trouble. "I should probably iron these for tomorrow. Um, excuse me." and turned back down the hall to the laundry room.

"hey," Daren caught Tim's arm and stopped him from leaving, "don't be afraid. not of me, never of me. you did nothing wrong, Tim." he pulled his friend into a loose hug, making it so he could escape if he really wanted to, "and let him send his hitmen, i'd like a proper fight every now and then." he chuckled and stepped away from Tim, "sorry that i scared you. but taking your medication is very important, and i am serious about making sure you swallow properly. ok?" he didn't like the hunched way Tim was holding his shoulders, but if he had to be forceful to make sure Tim took his medication, he would be.

Tim's jaw clenched, forcing himself to relax and glance up at Daren, wanting to look down, then back up, then down again, focusing on the floor in the dining room. "I just, it's been so long, i forget how unintentionally intimidating you are." He relaxed a little, loosening his hold on the bag and leaning into Daren. This smell, this lovely smell that was cheap shampoo and Daren. It didn't last long enough, but he was relaxed again. "I don't like taking them. Sometimes I feel like I'm not myself, like it's someone else waking up, getting ready, going to work. I want to go to work myself some days... but it's troublesome for everyone. It'd be easier if i stayed home." Which was the pattern if he forgot to take any one medication. "I miss being me."

Daren smiled a little, "my father's son, huh?" he said softly, hoping that Tim wouldn't hear. he cupped his friend's cheeks and looked him in the eyes, "listen, i know it feels different and like it's not you, but i need you to trust me when i say that the meds don't change who you are. they make it easier to go about your day and eventually you will come to see that the person you are without the depression and anxiety is the person you're meant to be. it might not feel that way, and it's scary to think about changing, but wouldn't you rather be happier and not scared all the time than depressed and anxious?" he stroked Tim's cheekbones with his thumbs and let go, "i'm here for you. if you ever need to talk or just have someone to sit beside you, i'll be right there. it's not troublesome for anyone for you to be there. i know my saying so won't help, but ask anyone and they will agree. they would rather you be there and moody than gone. if you didn't come, everyone would worry, they all want you to be happy and safe. everyone."

Tim wanted to respond, say that he feared that the medication wouldn't help. That he feared if he took it for too long hoping it would help, he would one day find himself unable to live without it. That he was afraid he would get addicted. How would he know when they'd work? When would he be able to stop taking them? But for a second, Tim thought he saw a thought, a quick thought flicker through Daren's eyes, feeling his thumbs glide over his cheekbones, his own heart skipping a beat. Then it was gone and Daren was letting go, leaving Tim's heart beating furiously inside his chest, het started to rise and he stared at the man in shock. "R-Right. I know." He recomposed himself, taking a large breath an smiling as he exhaled. "I'll always go to you first." He looked at the plastic bag. "i'll take what I need to take before I go to bed. Can I sleep in your bed again tonight?" he asked "want to talk with me while I iron my uniform for tomorrow?"

Daren nodded, "Sure, i don't mind." he walked with Tim to the laundry room and leaned against the wall to watch. "so, you've a game tomorrow? is it ok if i come and watch? haven't seen baseball in a while, it might be fun. at least you'll have someone cheering on your team." he smiled his most winning smile, "please? promise i'll be good."
