Damrius would hit the pillar with a loud smack. Maximos had almost no chance of knowing that attack was coming, and should it have been unleashed, he likely wouldnt have been able to move in time.

But the Lightning Warrior made one mistake. He tried to aim a lightning attack when he could have simply placed it directly on the Shadow. Similarly, he could have just used his trapped arm and channeled it directly into Maximos' metal arm.

He extended his left arm, Maximos simply pushed in aiming to deliver a very stern punch to Damrius's gut. The Warrior was trapped against a wall, he had no where to move. In moving forward, Damrius' arm was over his shoulder, his hand was entirely behind Maximos. That of course would mean that a "cone", emanating from the palm and shooting forward...would miss entirely.

The Shadow didnt even really know it was there, and he really didnt need to.

All the energy in the world placed into an attack does not cover the details required for a good execution. One has to understand how to situationally use a power, not just how to gather energy for it. Zeus' Fury...no matter what its effect was...would sadly miss. And Damrius was left, up against a hard surface, with a punch heading for his gut.

The punch landed. The air in Dame's lungs came out in a gasp, and then energy going from his hand stopped entirely. He was basically useless this time, since he was in a veyr pained state, and following the breath, came blood. Landing on the floor.

Damrius tried to pull in a few cheap breathes, but found it nearly impossible. But, that would leave him with something. His left arm was over Maximos's shoulder, so he pulled it back in a quick motion, shince both of Maxi's hands would be occupied, and thrust his thumb into the hollow patch of skin behind the ear. this led to the brain. As he did so, he pulled in a charge, and set it loose through his thumb, now literally in the skin, and was attempting to fry the brain.

All the while, it wasn't the fastest of movements. His lack of breath and the initial impact of the punch sent pain through his whole body.

Maximos
Maximos would have loved too, really he would have. But with his additional speed there was just no way Maximos sporting these new injuries, bruises though they may be could reach a speed capable of halting the charging dragon without taking further, real injuries on his feet beyond the simple scrapes they held now.

He waited, his right index, middle and thumb propped up his upper body while his two legs spread out propped up rear half.

As he neared, Maximos' pushed back, bracing for impact his legs bending, his weight shifting for a kneeled attack.
And what would Ryugi do? Something strange and unexpected. S he darted forward, he'd suddenly drop and skid across the ground, exactly like a baseball player skidding into Home Plate. His leg was out, and ready to strike his friend as pink petals flew out from behind him as he moved towards Maximos' kneeled position.

There was only one, one course of action that was fitting. One thing to do as the dragon bore down on him, skidding across the grass at him.

His mind cycles across many choices. How about a powerful Shadow Palm? Perhaps a mirrored kick to match Ryugi scuff for scuff! Greater still, perhaps he could take to the air launching a downward punch?

No...none of these fit, all seemed possible but none seemed right...not truly right. There was really only one thing he could do.

Maximos' left led, he bare foot gliding across the glass just barely beside Ryugi. His right followed, his leg straightening sending his body beside the dragon by an inch at the most. His arms lifted, black blurs each as they moved in an shape across his chest.

Time seemed to halt as the Dragon passed by, the leaves hung in the air, gently dancing, glorifying the fighters skillful maneuver.

SAFE!

The Shadow shouted, both of his arms flinging to either side in a wide sweeping motion as Ryugi took the plate.

And as Ryugi "skidded across the plate" he lay back and laughed at his friend's antics. Never in a million years would he have guessed his friend was going to do that.

I guess that qualifies as the best ending to a fight in history.

Ryugi chuckled and sat up, brushing himself off.

He had that deathly serious look on his face for just a split second. It sort of added to comedic effect, but as Ryugi lay laughing Maximos let himself plop on his rear, letting the laughter flow. This fight was enjoyable, but it wasnt exactly an epic battle for life and death.

Indeed.

He said in between laughs, lifting his hand up to his mouth as if to hold back the laughter. That high-class training proving itself very hard to repress.

Or a baseball game.

He said with a smirk. The laughter fading into white as the fighters vanished back to their spaces and times.

The battlefield? A plain, the sky covered in clouds, it looked like rain, and the air was thick with the smell of it coming. There stood Ryugi Kazamaru, red eyes staring down his pupil once more. Without anything left to say for the moment, he charged towards Damrius.

Time to stop messing around! Show me what you've learned!!
PostPosted: Sat Apr 28, 2007 1:01 am

Damrius didn't even both with speaking. No need to. He figured this would be the last, the final time this would ever happen.

As Ryugi charged at him, Damrius looked down, and watched his footsteps. Everything seemed to be going in slow motion. Nothing seemed important. He had to show what he had learned, and hoped he could. Oh, he so hoped it.

As Ryugi neared, Damrius made it looked like he was going to pull a kick out, but decided against it. A charging attack left too many variables. Especially without any sort of specific movement. It left him open to too many possibilities, all of which would be bad for him.

So, as ryugi got within striking range, he would do a sort of jump kick. But, this was meant more of a way to get around his chargin opponent. As he lept over ryugi, Just beyond reach of his sword being forced upward, He made it appear as though he was going to drop down and slam a foot on his face. It would be the opposite. He knew ryugi was fast, and would most likely react to something like that. So, instead, Darmius would land behind him, a good few feet from his Ragnaroks fully extended range, and did a quick pivot on his heal, digging his heal into the ground as he did so.

Dame went up, Dame went down, and Ryugi turned to follow, turning on his heels to face Dame before charging in once more. If Dame looked closely, he'd notice Ryugi wasn't holding either of his weapons, hell, he wasn't even charging energy at the moment...

I'm here for a fight, not a dance! Now FIGHT me!

As ryugi turned, Damrius slightly rushed in, and did a fein punch towards his face, and thrust a kick out towards Ryugi's knee, going to, if anything, give him a charlie horse.

Ryugi's sharp eyes read the feint like an open book. Not only did Ryugi's hand grasp Dame's feinting hand firmly to prevent him from using it and pull him towards Ryugi, but his leg also came up to deflect his student's kick to the side. As Dame would have moved in by the kick, Ryugi continued his charge, plowing past the poor barrier the kick presented and shot a powerful right punch towards Dame's open stomach.

Dame went to go block the punch for his gut, but decided against it. It would throw him off balance, sending the punch for his side, which would probably do worse.

As eh punch hit, Dame let out a slight gasp, and shot his free hand, wrapping it around Ryugi's punching arm's elbow, and brought the leg that would be further behind ryugi slamming to the back of his knee, hard, which would most likely cause it to buckle. Since this was out of his sight, and he would be preoccupied with the other hand, it would be hard to block, But either way, the would both go down from the thing. Dame, because he was attached to Ryugi, and Ryugi, because he was likewise attached with Dame.

In reality, Dame's leg would do nothing, why? Ryugi would already be on his way down. Ryugi wasn't simply stopping after he punched, oh no. He kept going, his punch transforming into an odd sort of tackle, which would send both fighters to the ground anyway. Cookies for both of them.

But, as the two fighters were to land, Ryugi placed all of his weight into the arm buried in Dame's stomach. Why? Because since Dame was already holding it there, as the pair fell, Ryugi's weight would drive the punch even harder into his student's gut, and his arm would flail out to pin Dame's feint arm to the ground beside him as they collided with ground. Dame's leg was still on the outside, and Ryugi would fall to his knees, pinning both of Dame's legs under his own.

While this left neither of them with anything to attack with, Ryugi arguably had the upper hand.

Dame hit the ground, gritting his teeth as the fist was buried deeper into his arm.

But, he pulled in a charge, and would go to literally slap ryugi with the arm that was gripping the punch one. As he did so, he sent a surge through it. It would probably make his toungue useless for a few, but not that Dame wouldn't mind that.

What was that Ryugi sensed? Was that...elemental energy? Yes, he believed it was. It was such a shame that Damrius had to try and use this now. Ryugi would simply move his own arm to grasp Dame's smacking arm and pin it to the ground as well, the electrical energy that was meant for him dispersing into the ground below, and into uselessness. With Dame pinned (read grounded) in this manner, it would be essentially impossible for him to direct any energy into Ryugi's body, since the energy would be flowing into the earth, just as a lightning bolt does.

Sure, Dame could fire lightning bolts towards enemies when he stood on the ground, but this was mainly because he had less contact with it, allowing him to exert a much greater pull against the electricity's natural tendency to disperse, however, with his whole body pinned to the ground in this manner, that pull would be alot stronger than just the soles of its feet. Without using any energy of his own, Ryugi had essentially prevented Dame from using his electrical powers to any major degree...
