"Well Hurricane we made it. I thought we would never make to the ferry in time but we did." Eraku said to his little pidgy who hopped along behind his trainer. The tiny bird chirped excitedly as it often did when the two went places. It had been a long day, he had nearly missed the ferry because of his uncle's long winded speech. "Crazy old man" he thought. "He said he had sent a package to Pallet Town for me to pick up when we get there. Wonder what it could be huh Hurricane?" He looked out the ferry's window and watched as slowly the Island he had call home for so long began to shrink away into the horizon. A voice came over the P.A and said "Our trip to Fuchsia City today will be about three hours so just sit back and relax."
Eraku jumped up from his seat nearly throwing Hurricane out of his lap. "Wait did he say Fuchsia??"

"Ah yes, the pokemon that were shown? Well the first slide was of a Luxray, a wild electric type pokemon. The second slide was a picture showing the different climates that there are in Sinnoh, there were a few Abomasnow in the shot as well. The third slide depicted a Garchomp, a very dangerous and rare pokemon, if you do encounter one your best bet would probably be to run. Lastly were our three starter pokemon, Chimchar the fire type, Turtwig the grass type and Piplup the water type. I do have more slides an information on the pokemon in my briefcase for those of you would like to talk to me about it after the meeting." He looked around and was surprised to see another boy ask about fire types. He chuckled in amusement and shook his head. "Unfortunately Sinnoh is a mostly cold region, it is much cooler then the other three, we only have two native fire types and one of them is a legendary pokemon. We do have an active volcano but that is much to dangerous for any of the trainers here, only those who have defeated the elite four are allowed there."

"Top Coordinator..." That must have been what contest participants were called, which made sense. At least Riza wanted to be the best, something he could understand and respect as he too aimed to be the strongest trainer of his time. The way she spoke about the contests, Crenu knew that participating in them really meant a lot to her. But at the mention of her parents, she seemed to grow a little more distant in thought. There was a story there somewhere, but he decided not to ask. After all, he wouldn't exactly be thrilled to talk about his own parental issues, and the little Ralts appeared to have things covered anyway. Despite this however, she still seemed to be less than pleased with something that apparently caught her attention. Her adamant statement about returnign to Johto rose more curiosity in Crenu, so he decided to try and change her focus. He was no longer interested in the Professors presentation, he'd deal with this new region when the time came, instead he was more interested in finding out more about Pokemon Contests. "Apparently you know quite a bit about Contests, can you tell me about them? How appeals are done, what the rules are, the basics."

Mike's mouth nearly imploded at the mention of only two fire Pokemon native to the Sinnoh region. "That's it?!" he snarled. "What a rip-off!" The boy slumped back into his chair and crossed his arms, letting out an indignant snort. This is bullshit. I bet there are like, fifty new water Pokemon

"Man, f**k Sinnoh." he said under his breath, continuing his little pout. There was no way he was wasting time to go there now.
------

Sasha giggled at Mike's clearly frustrated reaction. "Boys are so cute when they're angry." she said to Kirsa with a bit of a sigh. Unlike him, she found the new region to be quite fascinating. Perhaps she and Kirsa could travel together?

Piplup... even it's name is adorable, Kasiya thought, also very excited to learn that Luxray was an Electric-type. I'll definitely have to speak to Professor Rowan after this... I'm sure he knows plenty more about them. Kasiya grinned up at Rowan and gave a slight bow to show her thanks for having him call upon her. She sat back down, though she was nearly bouncing in her seat with excitement and she wrapped her arms around Keegan, practically shaking him in the process. "All these new Pokemon... it's so great!" she said, not only missing the part about the sheer lack of Fire-types within the Sinnoh region, but she almost missed the question Keegan had asked her about the PokeDex. "Oh... uh, well I got mine from Professor Oak in Pallet Town. After Ariel hatched from her egg, it was the first place I went to," she said, shrugging. Now that she thought about it, both her mother and father must have done quite a lot of plotting to help her get started on her Pokemon adventure. Kasiya had no idea where Lt Surge could have found an Eevee egg, and her mother must have contacted Professor Oak in advance in order to prepare a PokeDex for her. She really wanted to ask her dad about where he'd gotten the egg from, but her pride was still smarting from the smackdown she'd received from him several days ago and she wasn't ready to forgive him for hurting Hiro like that, even if they'd settled their differences after the fact.

Kasiya settled back in her seat next to Keegan, still glancing around the crowd. Her eyes came to rest on that pair of trainers from before, though she'd not really paid much attention to their battle. She didn't recognize the guy at all, but Kasiya felt an involuntary chill run down her spine as she studied the girl. There was something eerily familiar about her though Kasiya couldn't explain it. Just looking at her was enough to make Kasiya's stomach bottom out. Okay, this is weird, she thought, holding onto Keegan for comfort.

'A Luxray eh?' Sere thought. She loved the looks of it, and it certainly looked as though it would make a strong member of her team. As the professor continued to explain the different pokemon that would be available in the new region her heart sank a bit. She had hoped to catch herself a fire type to make her team more well rounded. Serenity sighed. 'I guess I don't really need one, and I'm sure if I really wanted one I'd be able to find someone from this region who would be willing to trade.' She was starting to get more and more excited as the questions continued.

George started bouncing on Sere's lap. He couldn't believe that there were so many new pokemon to meet. He wondered just how many new pokemon there would be and if his trainer would try and catch all of them. He would love to have new friends. The mudkip calmed down a little bit. He couldn't wait to tell Raddish all the news about the pokemon.

Kilik looked over at Mike. Geez, he thought, raising an eyebrow, no new Fire-types besides Chimchar and some Legendary Pokemon? I'm glad I'm pretty openly typed. He laughed quietly to himself. As the boy was about to raise his hand for another question, he paused. In the silence, he heard what sounded like a large fan blades off in the distance. "I wasn't aware that the News needed to use helicopters..." he looked off and blinked. How strange. He couldn't see anything, besides a black shape that appeared to be getting closer.Cable gulped and tightened his grasp on his trainer (who winced at the feeling of his nails digging into his skin). The plug squinted and then let out a surprised squeak. "Ele! Elekid! Kid kid!!" he pointed frantically.

Giovanni was standing on a platform on the top of his helicopter after it had gone through a slight transformation to take on the appearance of something similar to a plane. Flying alongside him was a large yellow-ish beast; a Dragonite. A smirk appeared on the man's face. "Initiate your attack, Mai." was all he said. After the command was issued, the Dragonite opened his mouth and a pale orange ball of light began to form.

No! Kilik stood up, Why'd we get so comfortable?! This was too obvious! He quickly recalled Cable to his Pokeball. He couldn't afford for something to happen to his rising star. In the same swift movement, he released his Aggron. Kilik's fist clenched so tightly that his knuckles immediately turned white. He could see the flickering orange light approaching at an alarming speed towards the town. "Aggron, use Protect!" he commanded. The beast could hear the urgency in his trainer's voice and immediately did as he was told, forming a large green sphere around him and Kilik, along with a few people within the immediate area.

"Kaaaaairyuuuu!" the Dragonite cried out, unleashing a Hyper Beam towards the crowd. The beam crashed into the ground and continued to travel for a distance before smashing into the green orb that was Aggron's protective shield. The Pokemon seemed disappointed that nobody was hurt. Giovanni stood casually, sliding his hands into his pockets. The wind whipped around him. "Good evening, Slateport!" he called out with his voice suddenly booming over the entire town's sound system.

((I know the attack has started, but I'm giving Crenu the chance to react first.))
Riza looked ruefully towards Serenity and George, and smiled apologetically. She and Crenu's constant chatter must have been kind of annoying and she uttered a quick but sincere apology to Serenity and her Pokemon before she stood up, still holding Ralts in her arms, and moved away from the mob of people so they were still within earshot of the professor's ramblings, but at the same time weren't disturbing people. "Anyway, yeah," she said, trying to fix her hair up a bit one-handed, thanks to Ralts' messing it up. "Coordinators work with their Pokemon to show them off in ways other than just brute strength. They judge you on everything, from how your Pokemon exits their pokeball to how well they land after jumps and such. It's a lot more work than some people realize." She paused and looked around, suddenly feeling like something was wrong. She shook it off though and looked back to Crenu.

"The first round is the appeals, where you pick a Pokemon and have them use their moves to make them look as appealing as possible. The judges look for things like good combinations of moves as well as timing and delivery, and even how well synced Pokemon and coordinator are." It was quite obvious by the tone of her voice that she was quite passionate about contests and everything about them. "If you advance to the second round, then you get into the contest battles. Both coordinators start out with a number of points, then they battle until time runs out. To put it simply, the coordinator with the most points left at the end wins. If you keep winning, you keep advancing, and if you make the finals, then you can compete for a ribbon to show that you've won the contest. If you can collect five contest ribbons then you can participate in the Grand Festival at the end of the contest season. It would be so amazing to even be able to compete at such an event."

It was at that point that Riza realized she'd never talked so much to one person (who wasn't Jaden or her parents) in her entire life. Even after meeting Keegan and Serenity and the others she hadn't said more than a few words to them. Somehow she just felt very comfortable talking to Crenu, as his cold and distant nature didn't bother her in the slightest. "Uh, sorry if I rambled," she added, prompting yet another giggle from Ralts.
* * * * *
The small Starly shot through the air at an incredible speed, striking the unaware Bidoof for a rather hard hit. The brown, fuzzy Pokemon shook its head and looked around, its beady eyes coming to rest on the Starly. It let out a growl and jumped back to its feet, ready to fight.

"Tackle that Starly, Bidoof!" the boy shouted. When Noa came around to attack again the brown mouse lunged forward and slammed into the smaller bird for a rather solid hit.

"Noa, strike back with a tackle of your own," Katie commanded. She knew pretty much all of starly's potential attacks but she didn't want to call for something that may not have been learned yet. Noa dove down after recovering from the previous attack, her sights set on the plump mouse Pokemon again. With a growl the unusually coloured Starly slammed into her target, causing the Bidoof to cry out with pain.

"And so, it begins." Blythe whispered with a small smirk. The crowd had begun to get in a frenzy, scurrying about in panic. They were fairly contained though, as most people had only started to stand up or point at the helicopter, and some had begun to run.

Mireille was now crying and whining in fright. Loud noises scared her.. well, everything scared her. But giant metal flying things and super beams of destructive force? That's definitely scary! Blythe reassured her that everything would be okay, and recalled her into her poke ball. Haruka was now realized that something was wrong here! He looked in one direction, then the other, and floated down next to Blythe, almost cuddling her. "It's okay, Ruru, no one will hurt you." Blythe stood up, as calmly as any other time, and walked among the crowd of people. She found herself a nice wall to hide her child-like body behind, in perfect view of all the commotion, and sunk to her knees. Haruka floated relatively close to her, looking about anxiously.

Blythe dug into her bag and pulled out a small camera. She first aimed it at the boy who released the Aggron, and the camera made a click! She then aimed it at the man on top of the helicopter, and snapped. "Ooh, that one's not too good..." Blythe complained. Seems this won't be too hard after all.. She thought as she awaited another snapshot.

Mike's head hit the chair in front of him when he saw the recognizable 'R' on the side of the helicopter. "You're kidding me!" He had just fought alongside Giovanni the day before, you'd think he'd give it a rest for at LEAST a week! "Of course not." he grumbled. He wasn't so much surprised, because now that he thought about it, this was the perfect thing for Team Rocket to ruin. Mike's annoyed expression instantly changed when he saw the Pokemon beside him charge an attack. It was aimed right for them! "Watch out everyone!" The Dragonite fired its attack, the orange beam impacting Kilik's Aggron. The sound was deafening. When the smoke cleared, another Pokemon stood beside the towering giant, it too deploying a Protect.

"Thanks Portabello." Mike said as he flicked a stray band of hair from his eyes, more annoyed and angry than frightened.

It would appear that Giovanni has returned. replied the Breloom, dispersing his shield. He looked around, just then noticing the Pokemon beside him. Portabello let out a curious 'Hmm' as he inspected the newly evolved Aggron.

"It would appear so, yes." Mike looked back to check on Flannery, waving some of the dust out of his way. Thankfully she wasn't hurt. It was no surprise, she was a tough enough to withstand a little Hyper Beam. Mike looked around to see if anyone else was in trouble, but it seemed everyone had reacted quick enough.

"God damn you Giovanni!" Mike yelled, whipping around and pointing to the smirking man in the buisness suit. "Don't you ever give it a rest?! Why don't you just leave us alone!" he snarled. He was ready to just grab the man by the throat and start shaking. Where's Kasiya, he thought. I'm going to need her help to take on Giovanni.
------

Sasha had grabbed Kirsa and hid behind Granite when the explosion hit, his large rocky body absorbing most of the blast. He dug his four arms into the ground to avoid being knocked over onto his trainer and her friend. "Graa!" he cried out as he straightened himself up.

"Merci beaucoup Granite." Sasha said, giving her Graveler a kiss on the head, then wiping the dust from her mouth. She peeked out from her rocky barrier at the damage, it was a mess! What kind of monster attacked innocent people at a speech? But all this paled in comparison to an even greater tragedy...

"My shirt, it iz ruined!" Sasha wailed, looking down at her button-up, now covered in dirt and dust. Just who was this man that attacked them. Giovanni? Wasn't that the leader of Team Rocket?! Sasha felt her heart start to race. She had just gotten out of one situation with one of these evil teams! She grabbed for Kirsa, pulling her close for security, unintentionally suffocating her with her chest.

The sound of the chopper drawing nearer was all Mai needed, and she gave a quick nod to Leo, already getting to her feet as she heard Giovanni's voice. In a few strides, Mai's long legs had carried her up on the stage and and in traditional Rocket-style the admin's disguise was completely gone and her true identity revealed. Upon seeing their leader and second-in-command, the Rockets mixed in with the crowd also revealed themselves. "Rockets, attack!" she barked, very glad to be rid of her Cammy persona as she snatched a Pokeball from her own belt and let it fly. The rose-coloured Typhlosion burst from her confinement and let out an earth-shaking roar, the flames on her mane flaring up instantly. She looked towards the Professor, not surprised to see that he wasn't at all shaken up. "The prestigious Professor Rowan," the admin sneered in her usual, icy voice. "I must say that it is a pleasure to finally meet you." Her cold, blue eyes drifted casually to the briefcase atop the podium, but they were soon resting on the professor again. Kero took a few steps forward, her ears twitching as she waited for a command. "So, are we going to do this the easy way, or the hard way?" she asked, placing a hand on her him. "Give me the briefcase. Now."

And so it begins, Ann thought, pulling back the red velvet curtain as the sound of the helicopter grew louder and louder. Just like that, an older man in the ugliest orange suit she'd ever seen sent his Pokemon - a Dragonite - on the attack. Hah, he and his Pokemon match, she thought, obviously enjoying the situation despite the panic that had broken out in the crowd. She looked out over the stage as a tall woman with brown hair - no scratch that, she was now a whitish-blonde woman - jumped up onto the stage and let out a Pokemon that she'd never seen before. "Oh honey, you don't want to do that," Ann murmured, knowing that Professor Rowan wouldn't give in that easily.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 06, 2009 4:54 pm

Robin had watched the seminar with a happy expression on her face, oh man it seemed so awesome! Plus she got to see Professor Rowan again, he didn't look like he changed at all, well maybe his mustache had gotten bigger. Holding onto Luffy she was more excited for the meeting to end so she could talk to the Professor herself. She wasn't really paying to much attention to what was going on behind her so when a booming voice erupted through area. Turning around she looked up to see a big helicopter in sky with some bozo in it shouting something at them. Luffy who was on her shoulder laughed at the sight, the strange orange funny looking pokemon he sent out to didn't stop him. Robin though knew what that was, Dragonite were really powerful! There was no way she would be able to stand up to something that powerful, reaching up she held onto Luffy to make sure he didn't do anything stupid. The little Aipom had no fear and it would not be good for him to try to attack that Dragonite. When the pokemon let out its Hyper Beam tearing up some of the ground, luckily Robin, Luffy and Jaeshan didn't get hit by the beam.

Just as that attack ended another attack seemed to start. On the stage now was some girl who had just come out of a costume like some anime character. Whipping her head around Robin stared with wide eyes as she tried to hold up Rowan. The Professor didn't seem to think anything of it and just stared at the woman saying something to her that Robin couldn't catch through all the yelling. Whatever he said to her didn't seem to make her to happy. Robin felt herself get a little worried but just then Ann stepped out onto the stage looking totally different. Well maybe not she was wearing the same thing but she seemed a lot more confident then earlier.

On the side of the stage Robin could see Ampersand watching it all with an amused expression on his face. How did she not notice him there before? Turning her gaze away from him she looked back towards the middle of the stage. She suddenly felt a burst of courage run through her, she had never felt anything like this before. She knew that Rowan had no pokemon and while Ann might be able to take care of this other person on the stage that didn't stop anyone else from coming up. Getting up she dashed towards the stage Luffy eager and ready on for battle. She might not be a super strong trainer but she knew that she would do her best to help Professor Rowan out and that meant getting him off the stage.

~~~~~~~~~
Rowan couldn't say he was to surprised by this whole attack. Once you got as old as he was you started to learn how to anticipate these kinds of things. So when the Dragonite unleashed a Hyper Beam down on the crowd he only stared with mild interest. The woman who was now threatening him with her Typhlosion just seemed like a mild annoyance. Reaching down he picked up his briefcase and met her stare with his own even one. "Are you trying to scare me girl? I have met more powerful and much more intimidating trainers then you."
"Ack... Honey... Keegan can't breathe..." the redhead choked out, trying to pry the overexcited girl's hands and arms from his neck and shoulders. She did relinquish her hold on him eventually and he sighed with relief, though she did answer his question pretty promptly. Guess I'll have to pay a visit to one of these professors someday, he thought, settling back into his seat as Kasiya seemed to become lost in thought. He looked back up towards the stage, trying to pay attention, but the next thing he knew, some guy in a bright orange suit was shouting down on them. Keegan eyed the man warily, as well as the giant red 'R' painted onto the side of the black helicopter and slowly he put two and two together. Wait, isn't that Giovanni? Team Rocket? Here? he frowned and looked up just as the Dragonite (and who didn't know a Dragonite when they saw one, honestly!) fired its Hyper Beam. "s**t!" he yelled, grabbing Kasiya by the shoulders and dragging her to the ground, mostly to protect her from the flying chairs and screaming people that had began to run amok around them, trying to escape the sudden chaos.
Okay, so he'd thrown a girl to the ground twice today in this very same manner, but as he pulled himself up to his knees and looked around, he was quite glad he'd done it. "Hey Kassie, are you okay?" he asked, pulling the blonde into a hug.
=====
"Do it again, Lily!" Miharu cheered, stealing a glance at Morty as the Bulbasaur initiated round two of Giga Drain, stealing another large chunk of the ghost's health. She was really starting to feel good about this; now if only Lily could use Sleep Powder on the rest of Morty's ghost Pokemon she'd be in good shape.
"Shadow Ball, Misdreavus!" Morty shouted again, the slightest hint of panic starting to work its way into his usually cool and calm voice. The ghost's eyes fluttered open as her master's voice reached her and she floated gingerly up into the air, narrowing her eyes at the grass type below her. A dark orb of energy began to form in front of the largest pearl of her 'necklace' and she fired it forward, watching with satisfaction as it grew larger as it traveled.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 06, 2009 5:37 pm
Kasiya had still been wracking her brains over where she'd seen that girl before when suddenly she felt strong arms grab her by the shoulders, and just like that she was on the ground as an explosion went off somewhere behind her. The resonating noise thundered in her chest and though she was shaking uncontrollably, she struggled against whoever'd grabbed her in order to get free. When she realized it was Keegan she threw her arms around him, a slight sob escaping her lips. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said, looking around at the chaotic scene. People were running in all directions, and she could see that a lot of the people in the crowd had actually been Rockets. "We need to get everyone together!" she shouted suddenly, a surge of adrenaline pumping through her veins. "We'll fight these bastards as one, just like always!" She kicked a chair out of her way, already holding a Pokeball in her hand as she glared up at Giovanni and his Dragonite. "Give it a rest, old man! You'll never win!" she shouted, a little surprised at her own bravery. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Mike and Kilik as well as Aggron and Portabello standing together and she grabbed Keegan by his right arm (completely forgetting it had been his burned arm though she hadn't yet realized that it had been healed) and started to lead the way towards her friends. I knew it, she thought, her heart slamming up against her ribcage intensely. I knew all along that they were going to try something! She looked over her shoulder at the stage, eyes widening with both surprise and rage as she recognized her sister. She's going after the professor, she thought desperately, suddenly torn over which rocket to go after. Giovanni, head of the Rockets, or her deplorable, evil half-sister?
=-=-=-=-=
Jaeshan quickly recalled Combusken into her Pokeball as he saw the attack unfold, incredibly grateful that they'd been well out of the way of that Hyper Beam. He looked around at all the terrified people as well as the Rocket grunts that had seemingly come out of nowhere, and he looked up to the stage in time to see a tall (yet diabolically attractive) woman send out a pink Typhlosion. "Hey, that's that woman from earlier," Jaeshan mumbled, running a hand through his already messy blonde hair. "Robin, you guys all right?" he asked suddenly, turning to his redheaded companion, but she and Luffy had already got up from their seats and were dashing towards the stage.
"Not without me you don't!" the tall boy shouted, pushing a few overturned chairs out of his way as he chased after her, snatching up Nidoking's Pokeball in his hand. Whatever Robin planned to do, he wasn't going to let her do it alone.
=-=-=-=-=
Flannery only frowned when all hell broke loose, very much grateful for the protect brought up by Portabello and Kilik's Aggron. "Oh, damn them," she grumbled, glaring up at the helicopter as she snatched Torkoal's Pokeball from her belt, glad she'd brought her strongest Pokemon with her today. Granted, she wasn't sure what she could do against Giovanni himself, but she was glad to be able to help Mike and the others for once. "At least I won't be worrying as much," she thought with a slight smile, waiting to see what would happen next.
((Much appreciation ^_^))
Crenu followed Riza away from the crowd, realizing that holding a conversation during a seminar probably wasn't appreciated. That in mind, Crenu found it odd that he was even in a conversation to begin with, he could have looked up Pokemon Contests just as easily to find out what he wanted to know. Yet he found something pleasant about Riza and took in every word. He never thought that it would be easy, but even Crenu didn't think that there would be that much to factor into an appeal. There would have to be a lot of training done just for things like entrances and poses, not to mention battle training. Yes, there was definitely a delicate balance that would have to be mastered between power and grace. Pokemon contests were looking more and more intriguing by the second, and this Grand Festival sounded like quite the event that he needed to see for himself. "Not at all, that was very informative." He said reassuringly with a little smile, that was really the best he could do. Crenu's calm demeanor was suddenly interrupted at the faint sound of whirling blades, the paranoid feeling he'd felt earlier returning all at once. Crenu calmed himself as he looked around curiously for the source of the sound only to lay eyes upon a large black aircraft. There was a man standing atop the aircraft, and more alarmingly there was a large pokemon flying alongside it. "...That's a Dragonite...abut what's that guy playing at?" As Crenu watched, he recognized Kilik's voice call out for a Protect, only now coming to terms with the situation. "Damn it, that's a Hyper Beam he's charging..." Crenu didn't panic at this, or even raise his voice as he spoke. Getting riled up wasn't going to do anyone any good and it was to late anyway. Before he knew it, a bright orange beam was tearing through the ground into the crowd repelled only by the protect that had been set up within the crowd. Having been away from the crowd along with Riza, Crenu brought a hand up to his face as he felt chunks or earth fly in every direction scattered from the Hyper Beam. When the dust settled he looked up at the stage where a Rocket admin and several other Rockets were coming out of hiding. "Looks like this seminar 'll be fun after all." Crenu released Larvitar from his pokeball, the Rock Skin pokemon looking as serious as his trainer and awaiting for an order. Crenu turned back to face Riza, a more determined facial expresion than his usual stoic one. "You alright?"
