As Kuma’s eyes flickered back to life… he realized he wasn’t back in the Leaf Village. “I died…” He remembered as he punched the ground and struggled to keep his eyes from watering. “Damn it, they were wrong…you were wrong! You lied! All of you! Nazu’s dead and now I am too!” He screamed as he heard a voice from behind him. “You are stronger than you think you are if you can keep your form in this place. Normally people who enter the after life aren’t strong enough mentally or physically to keep themselves together…so all you see are orbs of light, which are their souls.” The voice said as Kuma looked behind him. There stood the third Hokage in his battle armor.
(Doton: Earth Dragon Projectile-1/10)
Kuma turned around and sat cross-legged as he wiped the tears from his eyes. The Hokage smiled as he sat across from him and looked intently, ready to listen. “So young one. Tell me what happened to you to enter here?” He asked politely as Kuma kept his head down. He started to explain his situation. “My name is Kuma. I am…or was… part of the Inuzuka clan in Konohagakure.” The Hokage went silent and listened intently, “My parents were killed while before I started in the academy and I couldn’t do anything to stop them. Soon after I graduated, I started on a search to find their killer, aquireing any technique I thought could help me along the way. Unfortuantely, when I came back to my own village, I sensed a threat the others could not. He was too strong for me and he killed me rather quickly and efficiently.” Kuma kept his head down as the Hokage put a hand on his shoulder.
(2/10)
“I’m sorry Kuma,” The Hokage began. He looked troubled as he spoke, “I have not seen the mortal world in many years…nor do I want to. For I have heard that when you return, you lose all sense of self until you come into contact with something that belonged to your past. I do not wish to go through such sorrow in my old age. And I’m saddened by your loss. The village should learn to care for one another but it seems that is not the case.” He said with a heavy sigh. Kuma could tell the old man was deeply hurt as he continued. “You are here because of your shattered ideals….ideals that I hold as well…they aren’t worthless ideals and if you’d let me, I feel like I can show you some techniques to protect those you care about.” Kuma looked at the old man as he got up and lent at hand to the young man.
(3/10)
Kuma took his hand as he got up and ran his hand over his face. He couldn’t feel his clan markings as he felt slightly down trodden. The hokage took notice and tried to cheer him up. “I you know must feel so confused right now. Confused about why you couldn’t stop your demise, but with every failure you can stand up and fight again. Use this time wisely my friend.” “Do you inspire hope with everyone I talk to?” Kuma smiled slightly as the Hokage chuckled. “You should have seen me when I was alive.” The pair laughed as the Hokage took his new student to a pasture. Its lushness was awe inspiring, as a heavily wooded area wasn’t too far away and a deep river on the opposite end. Kuma instinctively opened his back pouch to let Nazu out but was saddened when he realized he no longer had his companion. He dropped his gear on the floor as he stretched out.
(4/10)
“So what do you do here now that you’re…. you know…dead and all.” Kuma asked as the Hokage took it to some serious thought. He smiled as he stretched out as well. “Well, were created this land were on right now…. before this there was literally nothing. And none of the souls here had the power to do so. We also have plenty of free time to meditate and drink green tea seeing as how there is no true day or night here.” Kuma looked unhappy with the answer. “So this is the perfect place for retirees? That kinda blows…” He said as he focused his chakra and was surprised he could still use it. The Hokage noticed and explained. “Yes, those of use still here that have our bodies can use our Jutsu still. And yes… it’s perfect for old geezers like me.” The Hokage chuckled, as he got ready for battle. Kuma squared off against him as the two stood still waiting for the other to move. Several “hours” pass and neither budges.
(5/10)
“Is there such a thing as time here?” Kuma said. The hokage thought about it as he left his fighting stance. He pulled out a couple of blank cards and beckoned Kuma over. He held up the cards for him to see. “No, I don’t think time properly exists in this place. Which would explain why I haven’t aged after all this time. Anyway, I broke our chess battle to see what your Affinities are” Kuma looked more confused as he looked at the blank cards. “Affinities? You broke up our fight for this?” “You weren’t looking to strike anytime soon were you?” “Ok no…. so go on please.” They both chuckled. The hokage handed Kuma two slips of paper for each hand and explained why they waited. “Affinities are a persons natural inclination towards an element, meaning what moves will be enhanced when you strike. AH!” He stopped as one paper grew soppy and wet, while the other turned to dust. Kuma looked nervous as to what they meant.
(6/10)
“So you have an Affinity for Water and Earth style moves. Very interesting, our first Hokage was the same way. He’s probably off playing shogi with the Kazekage.” Third Hokage said as he took the papers away and crumpled them together. “It’s not a common pairing, and its enhances both water and earth style jutsu as well as wood style jutsu.” The hokage stopped his explanation as he had an idea. “If those are your Affinities, then we’ll play to them. Get ready to play, I’ll teach you something that will help you defiantly in the future.” Kuma rang back to his position as the Third Hokage put his hands together in a slap. “Doton: Earth Dragon Projectile no Jutsu!” He said as the ground beneath him rumbled. Kuma fought to regain his balance as he noticed what the Hokage unleashed. “Oh crap…”
(7/10)
A large stream of earth shot out from under the Hokage as he directed it at his new pupil. The front of the stream resembled the ancient dragons of the past as he snaked across the floor at high speeds. Kuma lept to the left as he felt a rush of wind pass beneath him, the attack missed him by a foot but he felt like he was not out of the frying pan yet. “Doton: Earth Dragon Projectile no Jutsu!” the Hokage said yet again as a second stream of earth aimed to attack the kid, this time with success. Kuma was plastered to the front of the dragon as the pain shot through his body. He pulled his arm up and struck down, cracking the head in half and canceling the attack. “Impressive,” The Third Hokage said to himself as he directed the first stream to attack, “You must feel the ground below you as a living being Kuma! You can control it to your will! Let it aid you!” Kuma yelled back as he hopped over the head of the first dirt dragon. “Its hard to feel the earth when the earth doesn’t want to feel you!”
(8/10)
“The earth is a big place! There is plenty of if to grab! You only need to find an opening!” The Hokage yelled back as he missed the ninja with another strike. Kuma landed on the dragon’s back he spun in place. “Piercing Fang no Jutsu!” He yelled and drilled straight through the beast. It limped lifelessly back to a mountain of dirt as Kuma cancelled his attack. Kuma was breathing heavily as he stared at his teacher. “That earth was as hards as steel to penetrate… Fine then lets try this…” Kuma Slapped his hands together as the earth started to rumble. The hokage steeled himself as the Kuma finished the Jutsu. “Doton: Earth Dragon Projectile no Jutsu!” Kuma roared as earth split open and his own dragon shot forth. The hokage ran forward to meet it. “Are you crazy old man!” “I have a few tricks in me kid…you’ll be surprised!”
(9/10)
The hokage jumped in the air and focused chakra into his hand as he struck Kuma’s attack. He seemed to slide slowly down the length of the dragon instead of smoothly, like he had hoped. The dragon split in twain as Kuma was amazed to see his teacher untouched. He laughed as he walked over to Kuma and ruffled his hair. “The cards were right, your Earth Affinity made your dragon tougher to cut through than mine. Did you notice how easily it was for you summon it?” The Hokage said as Kuma replayed the event in his mind. “You’re right….I never realized that!” Kuma pumped his hand in the air in celebration as the Hokage spoke. “True… and I bet most of your peers don’t know their Affinities so this give in an advantage of what to train in…. That doesn’t mean that having an earth ability means you cant use wind, it just means that wind jutsu wont be as effective.” Kuma nodded, as he understood this and the Hokage looked at the damage. “Are you ready to continue?”

“Sure…just lemme take a breather sensei. I haven’t learned to do something like that before.” Kuma said as plopped into a pile of soft dirt. It was a stark contrast to what it was a little bit ago when it threatened to kill the gennin. The Hokage took a deep breath of air and let it out. He felt genuinely happy about the situation, even though he knew that wasn’t the right choice of words. “What rank are you Kuma?” The hokage asked as Kuma answered from down on the ground. “Gennin sensei. I was getting ready for the Chunnin exams before it died. And hopefully I don’t forget my time here completely so I can try again. When I make it back that is…” The hokage looked at him and smiled. “I think we can get you in shape for the exams. Though I can’t even begin to think what they are like now, I will train you in whatever I can before the time comes.”
(Mud Clone-1/8 )
Kuma got up and dusted himself off as he cracked his knuckles. The hokage looked at him and asked, “Are you ready for the next Jutsu? It won’t be as taxing as the dragon but it’s a highly useful move.” The Hokage slapped his hands together as the earth began to guild on top of itself. “Doton Bushin no Jutsu!” He said as the earth molded itself to the exact image of The Hokage as Kuma stared at them. The moved independently and could have fooled the ninja if they were completely brown. “Impressive, don’t you agree?” Kuma looked as his teacher’s handiwork a little more closely. “Yeah…. but what’s the point of having so a different bushin if Kage Bushin works just fine?” The Hokage gave him a smirk as he spoke. “Well then, summon some kage bushins and ill show you.” He said as he took a couple steps backward. Kuma slapped his hands together. “Kage Bushin no Jutsu!” He said as 2 clones appeared in smoke and attacked the earth clones.
(2/8 )
The earth ones barely moved back an inch each time the Kage clones struck them with a crippling blow. Both clones moved fast, the earth ones moved much more agile than their appearance seemed, but the Kage had the edge. Until Kuma saw what the Hokage meant. One of the earth clones punched straight through a kage, dissipating him into smoke as the other exploded and took the other clone with him as Kuma noticed the Hokage walk towards him. “Do you see the difference?” “Yeah, though slower, the Earth clones were stronger and could take 3 times the beating a Kage clone could. Plus I noticed you explode one with a jutsu, meaning you can manipulate them as you saw fit.” “Exactly, while Kage Bushin is a great technique…it’s also forbidden in almost all the villages, meaning they had to find something that set them apart. Each clone style has their own strengths and weakness, just like you Man Beast Clone.” The hokage said and Kuma understood
(3/8 )
“I see! My Man Beast Clone had to have a beast as part of the jutsu and I couldn’t create any extras… it depended on the amount of beasts I had in my control….” Kuma realised as he felt something in his mind click, “So depending on the situation I can summon any clones I want to keep myself in the upper hand of the battle!” Hokage nodded deeply and put a hand on Kuma’s back. “I see why you kept your body when you came here. You kept your wits together; you’re an exceptional shinobi. With the proper training and luck, you could even become a Kage when you get older.” Kuma’s smile fell slightly at the notion as he turned away and kept his mind on the task at hand.
(4/8 )
“That is IF I can grow old enough to be a Kage. The way I’ve seen the world so far, it seems like its one constant war or conflict after another. There’s no saying if I’ll come back…or even with my body next time….” Kuma slapped his hands together. “Doton Bushin no Jutsu!” He said as the earth built itself up. The pair looked at his clone as the realized it had no face or features. Kuma put his head down in embarrassment as the Hokage chuckled. “I’ve never seen that happen before with a clone…most of the time they would have some sort of distinguishing feature….” He leaned forward and poked it in the forehead as it crumbled into dust. He chuckled some more. “Apparently just because it’s your Affinity doesn’t mean you can slack off on the move…you should try it again.”
(5/8 )
“Doton Bushin no Jutsu!” Kuma yelled as the earth assembled itself again. His clothing seemed intake but there was still no face. The Hokage looked at the boy and decided it was time to test him on his skill. “Doton Bushin no Jutsu!” He said as his own clone appeared and beckoned Kuma’s forward. The young ninjas clone rushed forward and punched to the sides as the hokage clone expertly blocked them. Kuma’s clone dropped from to its back as it attempted to sweep the hokage’s clone from under its feet. It’s attack failed though as the hokage’s clone used its own foot to defend and flip Kuma’s foot away, spinning the clone in the process and causing it to land on its back. With a decisive blow to the chest, the hokage’s clone reduced the other to dirt.
Both ninja’s watched the fight as the Third put his input in. “Something’s bothering you isn’t it?” “It’s just the fact that I could be stuck here for a very long time unsettles me….”
(6/8 )
The Hokage took a seat on the grass and motioned to his new student to do the same. The pair of them watched the wind scatter the dirt and create ripples in the nearby river. Kuma took a deep breath and let it all out slowly. The Third Hokage looked at Kuma enjoying the scenery. “So does being ‘dead’ really seem all that bad Kuma? Death is just another part of the souls life. We all return to the ‘real world’ eventually, some of us, like me and the other Kages, prefer it here. To us, there is no difference between this realm and the next because it all feels the same.” Kuma went to speak but the Hokage continued as if the student never opened his mouth. “Yes we cannot truly ‘pass over’ like in the real world but there is a sense of being here. We still breathe, sleep, eat, play, and love just like we did on the other side. Yes I still miss the Leaf and everyone in it, I’m saddened to have to see one of my kin pass over and sit here with me. But death should not stop us in becoming who we want to be.”
(7/8 )
Kuma could only look at his mentor as he continued speaking. “I reached my goals in life, so save all who mean the most and to preserve the future. You and other Leaf ninja our proof my legacy and sacrifice weren’t for nothing. Which is why I did not fear death. For you, it should only be an inconvenience; you still have a life to finish. Do not let the fact that you are here stop you because the will of young is stronger than any blade. You will find a way out, you will avenge you parents, and you will become the great Shinobi that you and I believe you can be.” Kuma kept his voice still as the pair stared out into the world. It didn’t end, just like his own living realm… “…and just because it doesn’t end, I shouldn’t….” Kuma said to himself as he stood up. He slapped his hands together as the earth rumbled beneath him. “Doton Bushin no Jutsu!” The earth flooded up wards as he created a mirror brown image of its creator. The Third stood up and admired his work as Kuma flashed him a smile. ”Next lesson?”

The Hokage motioned Kuma to follow him back to the village as he started to explain to his young student the specifics of his next technique. “There is no doubt in my mind that you have learned how to summon? Is that correct?” Kuma thought about it in his head and nodded, but realized that he was behind his teacher and he couldn’t see him, he pipped up. “Yes sir, from my former clan I learned how to summon minor beasts. It was a simple palm slap on the ground and an underling appeared.” The Third Hokage put his hands on his chin as he seemed to be rethinking something in his head but quickly shrugged it off. “Ok then, so you’ve never actually entered into a blood contract with a animal god?” He said this as he stopped walking and turned around to look in his pupil’s eyes.
(King Enma Summon-1/30)
Kuma stopped short of his master’s serious face as he ran through the thoughts in his own mind. “No sir,” he began, “I’ve never heard of or participated in a blood contract with an animal god. How does it work?” The Hokage turned back around and continued walking. Kuma stepped up to catch up as his teacher spoke. “A blood contract is exactly as its name implies. You are signing a contract with the ruler of an animal species to get them to fight with you when you summon them. Most ninja can summon one of 3 races: The snake, the toad, or the slug. Each of them has their own strengths and weaknesses and are very popular and accessible in our world.” Kumas face lit at the prospect of riding high on a giant toad or commanding a giant slug to squash his enemies. He spoke up and interrupted.
(2/30)
“So who are you going to teach me to summon? The toads? Slugs?” The Hokage shook his head and continued to walk. “None of them.” This response was lost on Kuma as he jogged up side to side with his teacher. “So if not those three, then who.” The Hokage smiled at his pupil’s curious face. “There are many kinds of animals in the world, and for each animal there is one who rules over their species. I am going to teach you how to summon Enma. He is the Monkey King.” He watched Kumas face jump to pure enjoyment. If there was anything a boy wanted, no matter what his age was, it was to have a monkey to call his own. The Hokage quickly shattered his dream as he continued. “He is a rare summon because he is very fickle about who he enters a contract with. First you must prove yourself competent enough in combat when you fight him. If you can prove that to him, then he will enter a contract with you. But if you lack any of the qualities he wants, he can destroy the contract and thus destroy your soul.”
(3/30)
Kuma involuntarily gulped as his voice quivered. “My soul…which means I don’t come back here when I die?” The Hokage shook his head in response. Kuma involuntarily yelled, “You mean all that you just laid a whole schpiel about live and loving it and what not… and NOW your going to try and enter me into a contract with a high strung monkey who could kill me in combat and then utterly destroy me if he doesn’t think I’m fit to summon him!?” “That is about the gist of it.” The pair stopped as Kuma was utterly fuming from his head in fear and anger. The Hokage merely smiled. “I do this because I think you are strong enough to prove to have Enma’s allegiance. I wouldn’t trust his power to anyone else if they could not prove themselves to me.”
(4/30)
Kuma took some deep breaths as he slowly calmed himself down. The Hokage waited patiently because there really wasn’t anything else to do in this realm but wait. He watched his student close his eyes and use his hands to imaginarily push down any aggression. Slowly, Kuma opened his eyes and looked straight into his teachers. “…Ok…. lets do this…. I mean…I could lose my soul…. but what else is there to lose?” “That’s the spirit of a true ninja” The hokage said as the resumed their walk. Under his breath Kuma said, “Yes…the spirit of a dead ninja if this doesn’t work
As they made their way through the homely buildings and mixture of orbs and people, Kuma’s mind wandered as he realized something.
(5/30)
“My parents are dead!” He said as he slammed his fist into his other hand like a judges gavel. The hokage and passers by stopped what they were doing as the all thought the obvious. AND SO ARE WE! The hokage cleared his throat as he spoke. “Yes, I remember you telling me so. Why are you bringing this up again?” Kuma ran up to his teacher and jumped up and down like an enthusiastic kid who realized Christmas came early, he then proceeded to give the description of his parent to the Hokage in excruciating detail. “Is there any chance at all that you would have happened to see two people like that anywhere here in the Afterlife?” Kuma seemed to please as the hokage searched his brain intently. Realizing he did not see anyone like that he shook his head and sighed heavily. “I’m sorry. But I haven’t seen anyone like that in all of my time here in the Afterlife.”
(6/30)
Kuma hung his head low as he sulked for a moment. “I thought so…. with all the people that possibly come here daily, I could see how its almost impossible to meet them….” His face suddenly became white as he realized something. He turned to his teacher in despair, “What if they are just orbs in this place? What if they weren’t as strong as I thought they were? That means that I would NEVER be able to meet them! Crap!” The Hokage looked at his downtrodden student and tried to cheer him up. “Think about it Kuma, there are almost 5 times as many people here in the Afterlife than you can begin to think of down in the real world. Yes, it’s possible that your parents are just orbs unable to keep their true forms…but who said that the form you saw them in is a their true form. You are a young soul while I am old. We age slowly here than back there. Here we show our true age.”
(7/30)
“It is entirely possible they might be still here in a way you never realized…but who knows Kuma. At the moment though, we have work to do in summoning Enma. You must steel your nerve and prepare for a quick but brutal fight ahead.” With that, the Hokage continued to walk to his own cottage as his student followed along. Kuma tried his best to psyche himself out in order to prepare for this unorthodox summoning procedure. This should be nothing… Kuma thought as he ran through the procedure in his mind. Ok, first we summon Enma for me to enter the blood contract with. If I can defeat of equal him in combat then I will be able to summon in his battle. At this point I can no longer slack off in any kind of training because if I show I cannot keep his trust…this monkey kind could destroy my..Soul…ok nothing big…just a soul…
(8/30)
As the pair rounded the corner, the Hokage waved hello to people that Kuma had never seen before. Their clothing made Kuma believe that they could be over 100 years old from the point when they died. He was lost in his own thought as he barely noticed his teacher stop. The young ninja hopped on one foot as he teetered, attempting to not run over his teacher, as he was about to show him one of the most rare summons a shinobi could pull off. “Ok Kuma, welcome to my home here in the Afterlife.” The hokage said happily as he slid open the door and let his apprentice inside first. The interior looked like an ancient temple, littered with artifacts and remnants from other peoples exploits while on earth. As Hokage entered the house he waved to some people in the corner. “Well hello First, Kazekage!” He said happily as Kuma dropped his jaw in surprise. Here he was in the same room with the Third Hokage, watching the First Hokage and one of the Kazekages playing shogi!
(9/30)
Kuma could barely speak as he heard the Kazekage speak aloud. “So Third, who is the whelp you have with you?” He said as the first and another person who peered out the door way wondered the same thing. Kuma noticed it was the Second Hokage peering out the doorway. He gave him a quick nod and dissapered again through the wall as the Third spoke for him. “This young one I have before me is Kuma. He came to us not to long ago, but I have the feeling he won’t be staying here too long. He came here from Konohagakure.” He said, seeming to boast about his new student. The Kazekage snorted in response. “So many of your former village people have been coming to us lately, just like in the wars. Tell me young one, is there trouble brewing in the real world or are you Leaf Ninja becoming more and more pathetic?” Kuma bowed to his elder and retorted back.

“Yes sir, the world is on the brink or war yet again I believe…. and people from your village are doing the best they can to bring more souls here in their ruthless carnage.” The Kazekage laughed, “You seem bitter! Tell me, did one of my fellow villagers kill you too? Haha!” Kuma was about to say something he might have regretted, but was promptly interrupted but the First as he moved a piece on the shogi board. “It looks like I have beaten you again my friend.” He said calmly and winked to Kuma as the Kazekage looked very serious and looked at the board. “Fine, it looks like you have. Maybe later we can try again, but for now I must leave before I hurt this young soul’s feelings.” He laughed as he strode across the floor and left the cottage.
(11/30)
“I wouldn’t mind him. He loves to push peoples buttons,” The First said as he got up and walked over to Kuma and the Third. He shook both of their hands as the Third spoke again. “I brought him with me because I’m going to help him enter a blood contract with Enma. He still has a lot to do in the real world so I figured he could use all the help he could get.” The Hokage suddenly remembered something important. “Maybe you can show him some of you Wood Jutsu, he appears to have the same Affinities as you do my friend.” The First looked at the boy with an interested look as he patted his shoulders. “Earth and water? Spectacular! I was looking for some thing else to do instead of playing an endless game of shogi with that windbag you met previously. I’d be glad to help you in your training.”
(12/30)
“Perfect!” The Third answered for him as the second popped out from behind the door frame again. “You have a water affinity? Maybe I can train you after and show you the strength and flexibility of the element.” Kuma smiled as he realized he might have hit the otherworldly jackpot. “Thank you First…. Second. I look forward to our training session.” Kuma beamed as the Third walked away and opened a new doorway. Kuma followed him as The Hokage led the way through his cottage. “So do you live with the First and Second?” Kuma excitedly asked as the Third turned back momentarily. “That I do. We get along fairly well and the forth stops by from time to time. The Afterlife is a busy place and we have to have roommates to accommodate as many as we can.”
(13/30)
The Thirds words were quickly proven as they wandered down the hallway. Many other souls inhabited the other rooms as some peeked out and said their salutations. Kuma was amazed at the sheer size of the house and its inhabitants as the Third finally stopped in front of one particular door. “Ah ha…. this would be my room.” He said as he opened the door slowly. He revealed a dimly lit room that smelled of semi sweet incense. The initial burst of flavored air entered Kuma’s nose as he sneezed but was quickly accommodated with the smell as he followed the Hokage inside. The Hokage walked over to a small table and pushed it against the wall as he pulled two scrolls from the corner of the room. He sat cross-legged on the floor as he motioned Kuma to do the same. He handed him a scroll once he was seated.
(14/30)
The flames in the room seem too give its atmosphere a dramatic air to it as the Hokage went into some simple meditation. Kuma looked at his teacher zoning out as he brought him back to earth. “Sensei, is meditation how you summon the monkey king? If so I don’t believe it would a very battle appropriate summon unless you had a team with you.” The Hokage didn’t open his eyes, but shook his head and spoke. “No Kuma, I am meditating to remember the summon. After living as long as I have and lived in this Afterlife as long as I have, you tend to accumulate information. To remember the abilities I currently posses, I am meditating. It helps to jog my old mind. So please give me time to remember my techniques.” Without another word, he tilted his head back and went into his meditative state. Kuma watched his eyelids flitter slightly as he began to look around the room.
(15/30)
The shadows danced on the walls with each breath inhaled and exhaled from its too occupants. Kuma seemed to notice an image take hold on the wall to his left from the dancing flames. The images of a boy and girl dancing happily across the wall. The motion of a dog leaping in to his master’s arms. The fury of the earth attacking a crowd of people. Kuma couldn’t tell if these were premonitions or his mind playing tricks on him but he indulged himself as his master sat in meditation. Something caught his eye on the floor as his eyes left the images on the wall. An old helmet and pieces of armor laid haphazardly on the floor. They seemed to belong to the Third, possibly the armor he entered the underworld with and died in….Kuma thought as his eyes returned to the wall. A Lovers embrace. The dance of swords. Crashing waves on the beach. His sideshow was soon interrupted with the sound of snoring.
(16/30)
Kuma realized it was the Hokage! “Oi! Sensei! Wake up Sensei! I can’t believe you tricked me into calling your nap meditation! I have to learn these moves and get out of here soon! Who knows long far off the chunnin exams are from now!” Kuma leaned forward and pushed the Hokages shoulder as he snorted back to life. “Oh…*YAWN* sorry about that Kuma, in this place, my meditation could cause me to snooze off.” He scrathed the back of his head and bowed slightly in an apology as he straightened up slightly. He picked up his scroll and unfurled it. Kuma marveled in the complexity of the markings page as he unfurled his own scroll, revealing a blank scroll. He grabbed the sides of his hair as he realized the first step of his training.
(17/30)
“You want me to copy all of these markings?!” Kuma said, already feeling the pain in his writing hand as the Hokage pulled an inkwell and writing brush from the same corner as his armor. He handed Kuma the paintbrush as he pointed to the finished scroll in front of him. “Yes, since I had not had the foresight of being in your company, we have to recreate the summoning spell and contract. Start on the right hand side and write horizontally.” He instructed as Kuma got to work. It was tedious and time consuming as the only thought in Kuma’s mind was to finish this scroll as quickly as he could so he could control the monkey king and find himself one step closer to reaching the real world and the chunnin exams. His vision became blurry from the focus and the hokage unfurled the scroll piece by piece as the came closer and closer to completing it.
(18/30)
Kuma yawned in an attempt to water his eyes before getting back to his work. The Hokage watched him intently and moved his brush for him in order for him to not create a mistake in this work. It was too important to mess this up, one wrong symbol and they could blow up the cottage…. which while they couldn’t die, didn’t seem ideal to lose the scrolls and their place of dwelling. Kuma yawned once again and blinked as he realized what he just did. “CRAP! I messed up!” He yelled as he began to freak out in his mind and body, “98% done and I messed up!! Dammit! This ‘ro’ symbol doesn’t look like it at all!” The hokage inspected the sign on his paper as he looked up at his pupil. “It looks fine to me. Just calm down and well finish this and find out if you are right or not.” Kuma took a couple of deep breaths as he calmed down and finished his writing on the scroll. The hokage held his hand to stop his apprentice from writing any farther.
(19/30)
He pointed to the large rectangular free spot on his scroll and explained. “In this spot you are two write your name in blood, thus finishing the first part of the summoning. This scroll is the letter to summon Enma the first time. After you sign his scroll with your name in blood, all you have to do is draw some of your own blood in battle and slap the ground. That will summon a ring of symbols and summon Enma to your side.” The Hokage pointed his name down on his scroll for comparison. “Ok Kuma, bite your thumb, sign you name, and pray we don’t blow up.” He said as he crossed his fingers. Kuma bite his thumb and seethed slightly….For some reason the small cuts hurt worse the big ones! He squeezed his thumb until a globe of blood came forth and used it as the ink as he signed his name. The hokage continued. “Now form the sign I show you and touch the paper and summoning will commence. He showed Kuma the signs needed as his pupil mimicked him and touched the paper. “King Enma Summon no Jutsu!”

The symbols on the scroll glew blue with the color of Kuma’s chakra as a copy of them. The snaked their way up his around Kuma’s arms, wrapping around his shoulder blades until the entire scroll copied on his arms. The symbols on his body pulsed with his chakra as the slowly faded from view and left his arms unblemished. The blood signature on the end shone bright red as a large plume of smoke emanated from it. It wrapped around the entire room as the feeling of a third chakra entered the room. The smoke seemed to dissipate into thin air as Kuma stared as a pair of hairy feet. He followed them up as he saw a magnificent chest plate and armor and came face to face with the Great Monkey King Enma.
(21/30)
The Monkey King gathered his senses as he sneezed from the strong incense of the room. “Who summons Enma from his throne?” The deep voiced god echoed through the room as he took notice of the Third sitting below him. The monkeys face lit up as the Hokage rose from his seated position and hugged the monkey who was as tall as he was. “Enma!” “Sarutobi! I’m surprised you called me here now that you are in the Afterlife. I was certain that with you no longer in the realm of the living that you would have no need to summon me anymore..” The Hokage sighed and shook his head. “While that is true my old friend I have not summoned you here. In fact, Kuma here did. He wishes to enter a blood contract with you.” Sarutobi smiled as the Monkey King bent low and stared his summoner straight in the eye. “So you are the next generation of ninja calling themselves worthy to enter my service?” The King said as he sniffed Kumas hair and inspected him like cattle.
(22/30)
After ruffling Kuma’s hair and making it look like a bird has nested there, Enma raised a palm up, signaling the young ninja to rise. Kuma was slightly taller than Enma but was frightened as he realized this was the creature who he would owe his soul to soon enough. Enma spoke in a grand way towards his summoner. “Kuma, you have summoned the great Enma to aid you in any future endeavors. But before I can allow you to sign this scroll in have with me, you must prove yourself worthy to be in my servitude and mine with yours. I will battle you in any way you wish. If you win, you sign. If you fail to impress me, I destroy the contract and your soul in the process. Am I clear young ninja?” Enma said as his other hand held a noticeable scroll. Kuma looked to Sarutobi, who nodded to get him to go along as Kuma thought deeply. He made his decision and spoke to Enma. “Enma, I challenge you to a game of rock paper scissors.”
(23/30)
Sarutobi smiled as the Great Monkey King seemed slightly taken aback. Kuma stared him straight faced as he continued. “Does the Great Monkey King Enma accept my challenge?” Kuma smiled as the King regained his composure. “I accept, best of three.” He said as both held out a fist to duel with. Sarutobi stood off to the side and mediated. “One.” “Two.” “Three!” Bother combatants said as their fists bobbed with the numbers. Upon the mention of the third, the both released their fists as Enma held a pair of scissors and Kuma made a fist of a rock. Sarutobi smiled as he said, “Kuma surprised ne, Enma: zero.” The Monkey King made a deeply displeasured face as Kuma kept his cool. I’m far from out of the woods yet….
(24/30)
“My dear Sarutobi,” Enma said, trying to stall and psyche out his opponent by pretending not to care about the battle at hand. “How has life been treating you here in the Afterlife.” The Third Hokage laughed as he shrugged his shoulders. “It’s been fine I guess. A lot of nothing until this young one came and spiced things up. In fact this game of rock paper scissors may be the most exciting thing ive seen here in the longest while.” Kuma smiled at his sensei’s remark as The Monkey King noticed his ploy was going nowhere. The Third hokage looked at their focused faces as he told the count. “One…Two…Three!” On three the pair of combatants flung their weapons into battle. Enma held a fist in the shape of a rock as Kuma held a pair of scissors. “Kuma and Enma are tied at one round a piece, the victor of the next round decides the match.”
(25/30)
The Monkey King smiled in victory as Kuma took a deep breath. Don’t think about what you are throwing next, this game is all about luck. As soon as you start over thinking it, the better chances your opponent has to win. Keep the element of surprise on yourself and you’ll keep it on them… The Monkey King smiled as he leaned in close to Kuma’s face. The young ninja seemed to catch the scent of bananas on his breath as he spoke. “You chose quite an odd fight here young one. Something that has impressed me greatly considering those before you decided to let the blood flow. Sarutobi here almost didn’t survive.” He said as the Hokage chuckled aloud “Oh yeah, I remember that day quite well. But in the end I manage to power through and you and I formed a close bond my old friend.” The Monkey King nodded and awaited his answer from the young ninja.
(26/30)
Kuma thought about it and answered politely. “I knew for a fact that I was coming into this summon against a wise god who has seem more in my short lifespan than I would ever hope to see when I am an old gray Kage. I chose a game of paper scissors rock because I knew full well that you must be a master of combat on a level that not even I have come close to achieving this point. So I knew my fate rested in luck.” He said as the pair listened intently. “In chance games like this, both fighters are equals, no one gains the upper hand from prior experience. Plus this game has the side effect of having its players over think their opponents next move when you only have 3 choices to choose from. A person who could realize that would use it to their advantage.”
(27/30)
“I see…” the King said, “By causing your opponent to confuse themselves, you keep your own element of surprise in an even greater power, causing them to make a mistake more than you will.” Kuma nodded as Hokage smiled and turned to his friend. “You see why I brought him here to meet you? He is a smart person and can figure out the situation quite easily. Even thought he is not a genius, I do believe he may have confounded the Great Monkey King himself my friend.” He laughed hard as the Monkey King snapped back. “I am not confused! Now that he has told me his method of play I will beat him at his own game Sartorial! I hate being beaten!” “Which make explain your small list of previous commoners.” Sarutobi said with a smile. “Precisely!” The Monkey King yelled as he tried to get back to the game. The Third Hokage same something else next that threw everyone in the room for a loop that not even Kuma thought of. “What if he told you that to over think when you were weren’t? Now that the thought is in your head, will you over think that?” He smiled.
(28/30)
“Enough Sarutobi! Lets finish this contest!” The Monkey King roared as Kuma took a deep breath and waited for the throw word. Keep your mind blank and throw what feels natural to you…. The King already is over thinking about this so if you can keep your mind clear you can win this…. The hokage raised his voice and spoke “One…. Two….” The hands lobbed in place slowly, waiting for the magic word. “THREE!” Sarutobi said as both combatants closed their eyes and threw. “And the winner of this match is….” Both combatants opened their eyes and drew their breath in. Enma was holding a rock while Kuma keep his hand flat like paper. “Kuma!” Sarutobi said and raise his hand as the Monkey King slapped his forehead. With his free hand he unrolled the small scroll which magically entered a new blank sheet as he spoke. “Cunning warrior, sign your name in blood and I, Enma the Monkey King, will come to your aid whenever you call me.
(29/30)
Kuma smiled as he bit his thumb and signed his name. The trio watched as the blood burned onto the paper as Enma wrapped it up. He threw an arm over the ninja and brought him close. “I can see why Sarutobi picked you to summon me. You are a wise and powerful ninja who I have a deep respect for already….But if you aren’t keeping your strength up…ill be back when you don’t want me….to remind you in the worst possible way….” With a puff of smoke, Enma vanished from the room as Kuma and Sarutobi rolled up their scrolls. Kuma stared his master straight in the eyes an sighed. “You realized I could have died for good right there right?” He said as the Hokage Chuckled. “But you didn’t and now you can control the Monkey King to your use…treat him well Kuma.”

Kenshin looked around for a minute, stunned. He was back in thefterlife, the Kage's & Oroichimau there, standing before him, shadows.
"Aw not again... oh well, better learn something while I can" Kenshin said as he walked up to the Kazekage. "Teach me the Satetsu."
"Very well" the Kazekage replied as he made a sand wall surround himself & Kenshin.

Kenshin stood infront of the Third Kazekge, waiting for his instructions on how to learn the technique.
"Okay, Kenshin" the Kazekage said. "You shall learn the Satetsu technique"
"Okay" Kenshin said. "Lets start then!"
Kenshin and the Kazekage stood parallel to each other, ready to start training. The Kazekage made some hand seals then held out his hand. Sand suddenly came up from the black ground, forming into a sword of Iron Sand.
"Wow" Kenshin said. "You're going to teach me the Satetsu already? Cool" he said.
He watched the Kazekage change his weapon into various things, including a puppet.
Satetsu 1/9
Yakushi watched closely as the Kazekage let the sand go back to its origional state. He then nodded and did the same hand seals that the Kazekage did. He focused on the sand and the amount of Iron it held. He got the sand into the air but it fell because of Kenshin's inexperience.
"Dang" Kenshin said. "I'll try again."
Kenshin again made the hand signs and focused on the sand at his feet. He got it into his hand, tried to make it into something like a kunai, but failed and it turned back into sand.
"Meh" Kenshin crouched and felt the sand with his hands.
Satetsu 2/9
The Kazekage held up his hand and nodded to Kenshin. He did the hand signs again and the sand flew into his hand again.
"Kenshin, you must act like the sand is yourself. Make it yours to control" he said. "Try again."
Kenshin nodded and made the hand signs again. He held out both hands and the sand came up to him. He molded the sand into a kunai for abuot a few seconds until it collapsed. Kenshin put his head down, then raised it up again.
"I vow to learn all the Satetsu moves before I go back to my body" Kenshin said. "I swear."
Satetsu 3/9
Kenshin made more hand signs and held out his hands again. The sand came back to his hands and rested there until Kenshin made another Kunai. This one lasted longer, but wasn't good. Kenshin tilted his head back and tried to focus. He looked at the Kazekage who held out his hand.
"Satetsu" the Kazekage said as he made the hand seals.
The Iron Sand went back up to his hands, and it formed a replica of Suki's bird. Suk irealized he didn't have a katana anymore, and simply sighed. he watched as the Kazekage manipulated the sand into various objects again. He was instructed to use more chakra than his feeling.
Satetsu 4/9
"Okay, here I go" Kenshin said as he made the hand seals. "Satetsu."
the sand immediately flew into Suki's hand and make a kunai. Suki found it eazy to attack with until he threw it, it decomposed as soon as it left his grip. Kenshin simply started recharging his chakra to do the technique again.
"Okay, here we go, AGAIN" he said. "Satetsu!"
The sand flew back into Kenshin's hand. It made a flabby shuriken, which was thrown, and flew a little bit, then decomposed.
Satetsu 5/9
The Kazekage put his hand on Kenshin's shoulder and nodded for some odd and unknown reason.
"Kenshin, use the Iron in the sand" he said. "You have got to control the sand as if it were a puppet."
"A puppet.. hmmm" Kenshin said softly. "Okay, yeah."
Kenshin made the hand signs again and held out his hands. The sand came to his hands and it formed a small knife, which Kenshin used for about 3 minutes until it decomposed.
"Man! I can do this!" Kenshin said. "I know I can do this."
Satetsu 6/9
The Kazekage and Suki worked on the Satetsu together for a while until Suki felt tired. He fell asleep for a while until he woke up. He streched for a bit then stood up. The Kazekage was waiting for him and then they started training again.
"Okay, Kenshin" the Kazekage said. "Now, try again to use the Satetsu."
"Very well, Kazekage" Kenshin said. "Lets do this."
Kenshin and the Kazekage started to train again for a long time, learing how to use the Iron in the sand to manipulate the sand to make whatever he wanted.
Satetsu 7/9
Kenshin tried and tried the Satetsu for a long time until he finally got it for a period of time. His shurikens and kunai's were flawless, and his katana's almost perfect. He was just trying to master one more thing.
"Satetsu!" Kenshin yelled.
The sand formed around his hand and slowly started making a copy of the Head Cleaver. It decomposed during the process, even though it was better than the time before.
"Good, Kenshin" the Kazekage complemented. "Try harder and I'm sure you'll get it."
Kenshin charged his chakra up for a little bit, then started to make the hand seals gain, hoping to get the technique right for he final time.
Satetsu 8/9
Kenshin finally finished his hand seals and focused on the sand and the rion in it, and manipulated it into his hands.
"Satetsu!" Kenshin roared into the darkness.
He created the exact replica of the Head Cleaver sword Momochi Zabuza used. He swung it about, making sure he knew how to use it correctly. He made sure he could manipulate it into anything he wanted and finished. Helet the sand fall to the ground, and bowed to the Kazekage.
"Thank you, Kazekage" Kenshin said.
"You're welcome, Kenshin" the Kazekage said as he fell back into line with the other shadows.
Satetsu 9/9 Completed

As the pair weaved their way through the hall way once again, Kuma felt more relaxed than normal. Without the fear of death, learning skills in this way would have surely killed him back in the real world. Here, it was simply a case of short-lived exhaustion. It was defiantly one of the better points of being a spirit. Sarutobi held the door open for his student as the pair entered the main room again. Kuma took a few moments to adjust to the sudden bright light in the room as he rubbed his eyes in reflex. Sarutobi looked at Kuma and apologized. “Sorry about that, I didn’t realize the change in the environment. But now that that secret technique is done, we can go back to the field and practice some more.” Kuma’s stomach rumbled as he laughed in slight embarriment. “Is there any chance we can get some grub first before we go and hit the grind to prepare me for the chunnin exams sensei?” His voice pleaded as he got his answer before Sarutobi could speak. The Hokages stomach growled louder than Kuma’s
(Mokudon: World Tree Construction-1/9)
The pair laughed at the Hokages bear stomach as he gave in to his pupil’s request. “Yes…I believe some much needed food will keep us going for the rest of our training.” He said as the walked through the doorway the Second Hokage had peered his head from earlier. This room looked like a simple dining room with a large table for 20 off to the side. Despite this immense size everything else looked quite plain and worn from people continually eating there. Some of the chairs looked dilapidated and cracked, as the table itself looked pock marked from knife cuts and stabs. This place has seen its fair share of rowdy meals as Kuma sat down and the Hokage walked to a near by fridge and came back with two bowls of ceral and milk. Kuma chuckled as his sensei sat down and the pair began to eat.
(2/9)
The hokage put a spoonful of puffs in his mouth as he noticed pupil chuckling and gave him a nod, indicating him asking a question. “Oh, it’s nothing really,” Kuma began as he swallowed a spoon full of cereal, “It’s just that never in my life would I think I would be sitting here with a hokage that wants to train me…. eating cereal.” Sarutobi put his spoon down and swallowed, “Well I am an old man and can hardly make eggs and bacon anymore…besides even Hokages can get lazy and not cook sometimes you know.” He said as he took another mouthful of food. Kuma couldn’t help but laugh at the slight obscurity of the situation as he took another spoonful of cereal himself. After their bowls were void of any milk of cereal, the pair ninja sat stuffed on their chairs as the first Hokage came in and took a seat next to Kuma. The pair exchanged pleasantries as he looked at Sarutobi “Do you mind if I teach your student on of my techniques really quickly?” He asked
(3/9)
The Third rubbed his tummy as he nodded in agreement. “Sure why not? I don’t think we’re going anywhere at the moment after that ‘feast’.” The Third and Kuma laughed as the First just stared…he obviously was missing something from a previous conversation. He ignored it and placed a hand on the table. “Look carefully Kuma, since you and I have a rare affinity combination you and I could do wood jutsu with relative ease. Just like: Mokudon: World Tree Construction no Jutsu!” The First said as the palm-sized section of the table lit up green. And he pulled his hand away from it, a small bonsai tree grew rapidly as it flourished. It stopped growing at 4 inches as Kuma stared in amazment and the Third Hokage smiled. “You love doing that when we all get drunk on sake First…. though your temporary student seems quite enamored with it.” He said with a smile as the First gave him a wry smile. He looked at Kuma and waited for him to speak. “I’ve never seen that before. No ninja I’ve seen could create 100% real life….” Kuma stared at the tree as it shook and shot out, wrapping Kumas left hand up in it branches.
(4/9)
The First seemed to get a confidence boost at that comment as he explained. “That is because most shinobi don’t have a mixed Water and Earth Affinity like we do. This allows us to create 100% real plant life… where as others who attempt this merely get a cheap imitation. It was with this technique that I forged Konohagakure from the ground and I want you to learn it.” Kuma tried to pull his hand away from the branch cuffs but it held fast. The First decided this was a great place to try and learn his technique. “First you need to settle down and focus your chakra into the wood in this case, or in the ground if you’re in battle after you can feel that, you can manipulate the wood to your command.” Kuma nodded as he stared at the bonsai trap infront of him. He took a deep breath as he spoke the activation spell. “Mokudon: World Tree Contruction.” Kuma softly said as the First watched him coax the Bonzai branches down his hand and reform to what they originally came from.
(5/9)
The First nodded in accomplishment as Kuma looked at the tree and moved his hands back and forth, causing the tiny tree to sway back and forth like a tiny pom pom. “The reason I picked a bonsai because they are very tough for a non wood affinity person to control…but the size is also a factor…the bigger the tree, the more chakra needed to create it. Controlling it…not so much.” Kuma raised his eyebrows in an impressive manner as he looked at the First. “So if I get strong enough, I could summon enough trees to create my very own village?” The Fist remembered back when he was alive and gave Kuma an answer he did not expect. “I do not recommend creating a city’s worth of forest. Because that much actually killed me…. which sent me here.” Kuma felt like a pin had just popped a dream of his and he looked at the bonsai in fro of him.. “Oh.” He simply said as Sarutobi looked at the tree on the table.
(6/9)
The First continued with his teaching lesson. “The reason I created World Tree Creation was to give out village something to call our own. During the great ninja wars, were a smaller village with an even smaller presence. Our shinobi were skilled but few and far between as we fought for land to free ourselves from out neighboring territories. It helped to create the borders for our land and used my technique to sacrifice myself in order to create the Hidden Leaf village. So that generations can live in peace and not ravaged by war.” Kuma started at the bonsai as he put his own hands on the table. “Mokudon: World Tree Creation.” He said as the green pulse emanated. Kuma pulled his hands away and revealed a miniature redwood that stood 8 inches high. He smiled at his creation and turned to the First. “Thank you for your sacrifice. Even though we are constantly coming to and from wars, the leaf still stands tall.” Sarutobi nodded in agreement as the First smiled. “It is too good to know that.”
(7/9)
The trio sat in silence as Kuma wondered what the future had for him…. He wondered what would happen when he made it back to life. Would he remember what happened here? Would he remember these conversations with the Hokages and the useful skills they taught him? The buzzing of halogen lights filled the room as the flickered on and off. This sudden change in scenery alerted the three ninjas as the lights went out completely. Kuma stood up and walked to a nearby window to see if anything outside caused the problem as he noticed a small mob of people running from his left to his right. “Uh, senseis? I think we may have a situation here….” He said as the First and third walked to the window and cracked it open. All three tried to peer to their left as a man running to the stopped to warn them. “Th-there’s two new comers but they’re going berserk!”
(8/9)
“What do you mean?” Kuma asked the man as all four of them dodged a large piece of incoming wall. The three in the house pulled back and put their heads outside as the man on the street became more and more incoherent. “He-he-he’s just tearin every—GGRK!” He was silenced as a newer chunk of earth ran to meet him and carried him off to the right several feet. Kuma stepped back and leapt out the window as he jumped to the wall across the alleyway. He focused chakra on his feet as he ran across the wall and towards the chaos. Kuma covered his eyes as he charged headfirst into a cloud of smoke and rubble as he came out the other end. He watched as two over muscled ninjas began tearing up chunks of earth and building in a blind range as the first and third appeared behind Kuma. “Time to go to work?” Kuma asked as they both cracked their knuckles. “This should be fun.” The first said, the third smiled at him. “just don’t wear us down old man. “You’re the one whos talking….”

"Mokudon: Moku Bushin on Jutsu" The First said as he slapped his hands together in unison with his speach. The ground below the rumbled slightly as a pair of trees rose from the ground. The wrapped around and slowly formed into mirro images of the master and the Third and Kuma got the idea as well. "Doton: Mud Clone no Jutsu!" The first said as the ground liquified and mouned up to create his own 2 clones. "Kage Bushin no Jutsu!" Kuma finished the party of clones with 2 poofs of smoke as all 6 clones lept into action.
(Moku Bushin no Jutsu-1/7)
The pair of new comers turned to their first attempt of resistance as one of them, the taller and larger of the two, swung a massive fist, reducing one of the mud clones to dust. The counter attack came in the form of a wooden fist from one of the tree clones as Kuma's shadow clones stalled the smaller of the two. As the three ninja watched the fireworks some feet away, they tensed, ready to fight incase the masses of muscle brought the fight to them. Kuma looked at the first and asked, "What's the point of creating Tree Clones? I know that certain types of clones have their advantages but what are these?"
(2/7)
The first smiled as one of his clones lost a now splintered arm. He pointed to it as kuma watched its arm slowly begin to regenerate. "NO WAY! You mean these clones are invincible?" He asked as his superior shook his head. "Unfortunately not because they regenerate slow, and if you happen to be fighting someone who is a quick fighter they wouldnt stand a chance. Luckily these two aren't." He explained as his clones arm fully regenerated and returned to the fight. "And just like the Third's Mud Clones, you can manipulate these to use attacks huh?" "Very true, Kuma. Not many people realize that."
(3/7)
The last of the clones fell in battle as the weaker muscle bound ninja followed suit, creating a small crater to cushin his fall. Unfortunately, his larger friend seemed only more enraged at this attack. The Third stepped forward but the First stopped him. He looked at Kuma and nodded. "Perhaps our pupil should break the muscle man from his rage..." The Third seemed ready to debate it but Kuma didn't wait for an answer as he charged forward. He jumped in the air and flipped over the monster, when his face looked at his opponents up side down he swung his body forward. "Spinning Leaf Kick!" He yelled as his body contorted to wing his foot around.
(4/7)
A particularly nasty THWACK resounded in the area as the large ninja staggered back and grabbed his head in pain. Kuma hit the ground on all fours and swung his head up to look. His opponents eyes seemed to darting everywhere, trying to gather its surroundings and make sense of what was happening when Kuma realized it. "This guy isn't here in anger!" He yelled to his teachers, "He's confused and something is causing a knee jerk reaction! We have to put them down!" A literal meaning of his last explanation nailed him in the face as the ninjas knee sent Kuma back a couple of feet.
(5/7)
As he got up slowly he realized that the First was testing him in this instance. Immpecable timing if anything else. Kuma slapped his hands together and concentrated. "Mokudon: Moku Bushin no Jutsu!" He yelled as the ground quaked slightly, a single tree twisted from nothing and shaped himself into his creater as Kuma smiled. "One is all I need...." He said as the both ran at their quary. Kuma slid abrought a leg up under the monsters chin. "Leaf Rising Wind!" He said as the force of the kick sent a slight current of air to help raise his opponent off of the ground.
(6/7)
Kuma's clone on the other hand ran behind and jumped up as the muscle ninja went airborn. Kuma slapped his hands on the ground as his outline of his hand glew green. "Mokudon: Tree World Construction no Jutsu!" He yelled as his clone exploded into a large trunk and wrapped itself around the ninja as he hit the floor, trapped. A second tree birthed next to his fallen comrade and arched over him like a strap on a table. Large Oni came to the scene of the attack as they stopped in their tracks. One large blue one seemed relieved as his larger red counterpart put his hand up, signaling that they would take care of the situation from here.

As the three ninjas made their way away from the fight area, Kuma couldnt help but look back as the Oni chopped their way through the wood. The muscle bound ninja seemed to lose their mass quickly, revealing a polar opposite scrawny body. The ninja shrugged it off as he lagged behind his teachers, following their movements, not really caring where they went. He was deep in thought as he wondered if he would ever be strong enough... not to become a Kage.... but in his own mind. He was mocked when he was younger and kept to himself. When he made Genin he struck out on his own and distanced himself from his own village....
(Indestructible Prison Wall-1/10)
He made few relationships to people...and everyone he has mad one with had gone awry...Alai, his parents, Monty. He never had any real friends. And now he was getting along with two of the greatest ninja the Leaf had ever known...and for the most part, he'd been moping around. Sarutobi glanced behind him and noticed Kuma lag slower and slower behind. The look on his pupils face was one he saw constantly while he was here, a look of disappointment. He turned his head back to the front as the dirt village paths gave way to lush green fields. They were heading back to the practice area...which looked clean and sparse again from what they were earlier.
(2/10)
"What's troubling you young one?" The third asked as he took a large breath of fresh air. He tried to make it seem like he hadn't seen anything. Kuma snapped out of his thoughtful trance. "It's nothing huge sensei. I've just been thinking..." He said as the First stopped and bent low to the ground, stretching out. "You should be careful Kuma, a little thinking never hurt anyone but if you live in your mind you lose sight of what's before you.” The First said as Kuma took a look at his surroundings. “Why are we back at our old training grounds Sensei?” Kuma asked as The First curled up a fist and rushed forwards to Kuma’s left side.
(3/10)
CRACK! The First’s fist connected with Kuma’s head has he flew and hit the floor like a ragdoll, his body flopping to and fro for a couple of seconds as he finnaly settled down and skidded to a stop. As he slowly got up and rubbed his jaw, he could hear the first and third laughing so hard they might almost cry. “And here I thought you were going to kill him!” The Third said as tears started welling up in his eyes. “I was thinking about it…but then I realized were already dead! What more can I do!” The First slapped his knees and Kuma felt slightly downtrodden. He steeled himself for battle as the first because a little more serious.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize how hard the punch was…. but it would be a good to summon Enma to help you fight really quick. He may have a move or two for you to do.” The first said as he rushed in forward for a head on attack. Kuma nodded as he formed some hand signs, ending in monkey as he slapped his palm on the ground. A ring of characters appeared from nowhere as Kuma said the summoning. “Summoning no Jutsu: Monkey King Enma!” With a poof of smoke, the armor wielding primate appeared as he barred a fighting stance as Kuma stood next to him ready to fight. “Ready for a quick spar Enma?” Kuma asked as the monkey smiled. “Against the first? Well theres a first time for everything I suppose…”
(5/10)
The First launche his fist at Kuma as Enma interefered. Using a giant palm, he grabbed his opponent’s arm and launched him in the air. The First righted himself in the air and landed with ease as Enma poofed into a large staff. “Diamond Staff Summoning!” Enma yelled as Kuma grabbed a hold of the black and gold tipped pillar. He swung it easily in his arms as he used a free hand and brought it to his face. “Water Affinity: Staff of the Kappa!” He yelled as the large staff glowed slightly blue and disappeared. Kuma swung the staff upward and brought it down to the ground as a shock wave of water weaved its way to its mark. The First countered with his hands on the ground. “Mokudon: Tree World Construction no Jutsu!” He yelled as several large oaks obscured his view and took the force of the strike as the front splintered to pieces.
(6/10)
Kuma rushed forward and used the staff to vault himself up the tree as he landed silently on a large branch. He hadn’t seen the first escape off to the sides so he must be in the trees somewhere. Kuma thought, as his hunch was right. A dark blur in the shade streaked towards him as he brought the giant staff to his side to parry. The crack sounded nasty but there didn’t seem to be anything broken as the first clashed with the staff. To both fighters surprise, the staff grew arms and an eye as it apprehended the Hokage. “Go Kuma! He’s vulnerable!” Enmas disembodied voice yelled as the Genin responded. He quickly locked eyes with his opponent and concentrated his chakra. “Shooting Star Gaze no Jutsu!” He said as the fist seemed to be breathless from the mental strike. Enma then threw the man up into the higher reaches of the tree as Kuma grabbed him and Jumped up to follow.
(7/10)
The first seemed to gather his breath fairly fast as he balanced himself on a branch as he watched Kuma land on one 20 feet away. He seemed confused at the technique as Kuma explained. “A lot of years have passed since you were around Hokage…. there have been many wars, and many stronger and new villages.” Kuma said as he lunged forward and thrusted with the staff. The Fist used his fists to block back the iron strikes as he lept back wards to another branch. He quickly slapped the brand and leapt off it. The branch seemed to bend to its masters will as it whipped around to strike Kuma in the back. It succeeded as the ninjas was sent into the trunk of the tree and splintered a slight crater. He sighed deeply as he pulled himself off the branch. Enma’s eye appeared and looked at his new master.
(8/10)
“Get a hold of yourself child!” The Monkey King echoed as the First jumped towards them. Kuma shook his doubts off and lept away just as the Hokage created an even bigger crater on the tree. The pair of ninja squared off as The First struck. “Mokudon: Tree World Construction no Jutsu!” He said as the branch Kuma was on curled up in an attempt to crush him. Enma reacted fast as he poofed out of Kumas hands. “Indestructible Prison Wall!” He yelled as Kuma found himself caged with a multitude of staves. The branch cracked under the pressure in its failed crushing motion and dropped the cage, sending it falling 4 stories to the ground. It landed with a giant THUD as Kuma got up to his fee slowly and looked around in his cage. “Well…. this could be useful….” He said as it poofed again and Enma appeared next to Kuma, smirking at the First who landed on the ground several feet away.
(9/10)
All three combatants seemed relaxed as Enma realized that was the trick. He turned to Kuma. “Kid, other than the fact you need to keep your head in the game, you did a decent job. If you ever need my help again, you know where to find me.” He said as he poofed away. Sarutobi smiled as the Second Hokage walked into view. “That Enma was always keeping a trick or two up his sleeve. I had to almost kill Sarutobi as well for him to use that move….” The second said as the first shrank the trees into the ground. “On the bright side though…he didn’t.” Sarutobi added as Kuma fell to the floor in relief. “That cage he had you in cannot be broken by anyone but him or you…and I wouldn’t be getting too comfortable. The second rarely comes outside unless he wants to spar….”

"I wish...." The Second Hokage said as he handed Kuma a note. The young ninja opened it and read it aloud.
"Kuma, you have been chosen by the afterlife commitee to be reincarnated. If you wish to rejoin the real world, please come to......blah blah blah.....you have 2 days to comply come to the destined location or your window for passage will be revoked. Signed, The Afterlife Commitee." The second hokage lit up slightly as he touched his chin. "Well it looks like i have the time to after all...How about the Water Dragon Projectile?" He asked as Kuma nodded.
(Suiton: Water Dragon Projectile-1/10)
"Perfect..." The Second said as he slapped his hands together. The first and third quickly jumped backwards as Kuma realized the deadly look on the Second's face. "Learn by doing young one! Suiton: Water Dragon Projectile!" He yelled as a jet stream of water shot from his mouth. It soon ballooned bigger than its caster as he raged towards Kuma, catching him off guard. Kuma was swept in to the lone current and the force seemed to knock the wind out of him. He quickly summoned a small tree to block off the flow as he gasped for breath, leaning on the side of the tree.
(2/10)
"Ho....How did you...Do that?" Kuma asked, soaking wet from the attack. "Just like any other attack young one!" Nidame said as he casted another dragon to splinter the tree in half. It groaned at the now top heavy weight as it snapped in half and came timbering down towards the Nidiame. He summoned one more dragon to blast a safety hole and remained untouched. Kuma jumped out and rushed forward to attack. “Water Affinity: Staff of the Kappa!” he yelled as the staff materialized in his left hand as he swung at the Nidaime. The Hokage bent backwards and rolled away to dodge the attack as Kuma pressed forward, slapping the ground with a down stroke that missed where the hokage once was. As the staff struck the ground, Kuma lurched forward and used the staff as a vaulting pole to leap in front of the Hokage.
(3/10)
When he touched the ground, Kuma swung his staff around his head and circles it around, using the momentum to sweep the rolling ninja off his feet. Nidaime unrolled into a handstand and didn’t notice his opponent was in front of him as the staff took his hands out from under him. He crumpled slightly to the ground and hopped back up. “Good, I guess the staff is a weapon you excel at I assume?” He said as he through his hands up and sucked in a large sum of air. “Suiton: Water Dragon Projectile!” He said as the water torrent spewed forward from his mouth again. Kuma happened to notice his movements closer this time and rolled to the side as the dragon missed by a mile. “How do you get the dragon to come fro your mouth?” He asked as the Nidaime finished.
(4/10)
“By breathing in the air around you, use your chakra to manipulate the moisture in the air you took in. when you release it. That build up chakra explodes and does the same thing to the surrounding air molecules. You can do the same thing with earth dragon as well. Fire Dragon and Wind Dragon Projectiles can only be done with the mouth.” Nidaime smiled and he pointed a finger behind Kuma. “You really should never take your eye off of your opponent.” Kuma stared at him quizzically as the dragon hurtled towards him at break neck speed. Off safely to the side, the First and Sarutobi watched as Kuma was knocked off his feet and skidded several feet behind the Nidaime. Sarutobi twinged as the First seemed lost in thought. “Do you think he’s ready to become a chunnin?” Sarutobi asked the first.
(5/10)
The First took his fight into consideration as he watched the sparring ninja trade blows with each other. “His fighting style is a tad unorthadox, but fighting along never made us chunnin….His problem with be his emotions…he is too easily swayed and distracted by them.” He said as Sarutobi contemplated the same thing as well. “You may be right. There have plenty of trying times for use and for other chunnin…. he may not be up to the task if he cannot keep his emotions in line and think rationally.” “Emotions can be a strong weapon if used correctly though. If a ninja were to discard the one trait that keeps them above an animal, he is lost and will ultimately fail.” As the First said this, the mind of the Third traveled to his former student, noting that he has ultimately been absent this whole time.
(6/10)
Kuma flipped back and spun on his hand, twisting this foot around and kicked the Nidaime in the side as the older ninja took a step or two backward from the fight. He felt a twinge in his side as he realized the kid was stronger than he imagined. Taijutsu was his specialty he realized as Kuma used his hand as an anchor to drop his body safely and land on all fours. The younger ninja stood up as Nidaime smiled. “You hop and move around like a little rabbit Usagi-san.” He said as Kuma seemed a bit taken back by the remark, he didn’t know if it was a good thing or not but smiled and bowed. “Thank you Nidaime, are we don’t yet or not?” He smiled as he lifted a hand up and beckoned his opponent forward. The Older ninja took a couple of steps forward and threw several punches at Kuma torso.
(7/10)
The younger ninja evaded left for the first, slunk back for the second, and used his hand to grab the Hokage’s wrist on the third to throw him behind him. He older ninja was taken be surprise as he stumbled back several steps and regained his balance. “What fighting style is that Usagi-san?” He asked Kuma realized he never knew his name. “It the Nakagawa style employed but the blind Orimara branch family, its very similar to akido and Iron fist. And my name is Kuma, sensei.” Kuma said as he could here the Third chime into the conversation. “Usagi sounds much more fitting for you young one.” Sarutobi said as the 3 hokages gave him a more fitting name. Kuma found it much easier to not argue with old men as he smiled and resumed his lax fighting stance. “Usagi it is then.” Usagi said and waited.
(8/10)
Nidaime started the onslaught with a simple palm thrust to the chest. Usagi countered with a wrist grab and twisted it around as the Hokage flowed with the turn and struck out with his other palm. Usagi bent low to dodge the fist and used his free hand to backhand the strike away, letting go of Hokages other wrist. Nidaime watched the young ninja bend low and lurched forward, looming over his opponent and dragged his knee forward. Usagi bent his neck back to avoid the knee but had little room to maneuver as his chin too a brunt of the attack. The Hokage followed through and flowed over his opponent landing on the other side in a rolling motion and propped himself back up. Usagi got up and turned around to face his opponent, cluctching his chin and rubbing it slightly as the Nidaime readied himself for a new attack.
(9/10)
Usagi brought his hands up and sucked in some air as the Second realized his attack. He brought his own hands up and took a deep breath as the both fired. “Suiton: Water Dragon Projectile!” Nidaime said but realized Usagi was a little bit faster. “Suiton: Water Dragon Projectile no Jutsu!” Usagi roared as the torrents of water from both fighters collided in the middle. Nidaime smiled as his stronger attack broke through as Usagi brought his arms up to defend and took the brunt of the attack. After the water stream finished rushing towards Usagi, the young ninja wrung his hair and clothes out as Nidaime bowed, finishing the fight. The First and Sarutobi clapped as they walked towards there companions. “You are strong fighter Usagi san,” Nidaime said and motioned him closer as Usagi joined the trio and made their way back to the village. “A proud continuation of the leaf, we hope that when you come back its not forever…you still have a lot going for you.”
