Luke amlost whispers at Jeni, quite annoyed at being completely scoffed at for his logic.
"How? You call yourself a fighter and you didn't notice he had no intent of making the first move?"
He turns to the side and steps near to Gabe, feeling now more than ever that Gabe's the only one there he's able to befriend. Plus, he thought Jeni would know better than to think he would leave himself "wide open for attack" without good reason. He gets down and sits, cross legged, next to Gabe, a hand on his head. Seems like everyone else is being hostile enough for everyone. Why should he join? Gabe doesn't seem to overly worried. Having positioned himself to face the newcommer, he just stays quiet now and listens, instead of showing an intent to kill him.

Once Jeni was sure the new elf was not going to attack she let her stance down.
She retreated back so she was standing by Luke.
"Never assume anything in a potential fight." she said "He was planning on doing something, see, you only read his stance, not his eyes, they were too focused for someone who was not planning to make the first move." she paused, thinking of how to phrase the next part, "Luckily the situation was diffused before things got out of hand."
She knew she had been bought up differently to Luke, their training had been different, even so, she wished the group would realise how dangerous situations had to be played out.

Marael relaxed slightly as the dark elf lowered his energy level a bit, and watched Ichnel converse with him in what she assumed was the Shalondia tongue. She jumped slightly as Emmia spoke the language fluently and stared at the elf in surprise. She didn't look Shalondian to Marael, but then again, Ichnel was the first live Dark elf she'd ever seen.

When Luke sat down on the ground next to Gabe, Marael gave a smile at the pair of them. At least someone was comfortable. She looked back between the dark elf, Ichnel, and Emmia as Ichnel suggested they speak in Common. She gave another smile and kept her mouth shut since she didn't understand half of the conversation.

Looking from her now wet tipped arrow to the group farther away. Lae decided now was the time not to stay to the side and watch from afar.
Wisking herself from the very dark shadow of the large tree Lae made her way to the group. Taking her time she noticed that parts of the conversation happened to be in a language she knew only as Shalondian. In school at times they were taught a few simple words just so they could reconize it at will. The only thing that created much confusion in her was the fact they were speaking it. It had been set in stone many years ago that speaking Shalondian in Bredia territory was against Bredia law. Now making it to the group Lae decided to make herself comfortable leaning on a small tree that hed sprouted its self not far from Ichnel's back door. It happened that this tree was mere feet away from the new visiter.

Why am I not worried?

Lae was quite certain her mind was telling her it wasn't safe but her heart told her this foreigner was not a bad elf. Trusting her instincts Lae stayed at the tree and curiously watched the conversation as it went from elf to elf. A few things were said in common but alot of the conversation stayed in the language of the Shadow. There was not much she could say until they went into speaking common. When finally Ichnel made it known that the whole group should speak common she couldn't be more relieved.

For all I know they could be bartering my life with him....heh what a thought.

Smiling Lae turned to the new commer and asked in a wisper that most elves could hear,

"Why do you visit at such a time in the night? I do not know of Shalondian customs but here in Bredia it is not common for one to move about in the after hours."

Waiting for his answer, Lae took the bow and arrow that were still in her clutched hands and put them both back in their proper places on her back.

((Comment, as such you may have noticed that I meantioned the Shalondians language as the language of the "Shadow" That is kinda their nickname to the other tribes because of the fact they are dark elves and not much is known about them. So they are the "elves of Shadow" or the "language of the Shadow". Yeah...^^))

"Terra Donovan... I think I recognize that name... Don't you have asthma?" The question seemed a little out of place now that he thought about it... but if she was who he was thinking of she should have been gasping for breath after how she'd been running when she came up to him. He noticed the way she crossed her arms, and though he hoped he didn't react to it knew it may have been because she was self-consious about her knew appearance. His sense of reading people still worked, better than ever he might add. Come to think of it, he didn't have as much cause to be as her, but he certainly wasn't completely comfortable in this outfit. He never wore sleeveless tops and this one also had a tie part way down the front. He bent over to pet Nolen, letting his cape fall over him to cover his exposed arms.... hopefully she too didn't notice his actions were cover up for discomfort.
"So," he asked as he petted the wolf, who seemed to rather enjoy it, "do you have any idea where the group went?"

His question surprised her a little. Of course many knew that she was that girl that had so much trouble in gym and had once had to be carried to the nurse after a few laps at the track. But she hadn't expected it to be that widely known. She felt a little embarrassed by this but just smiled and nodded. It was an oddity. Coming here must have really changed everything. As this thought crossed her mind she became even more surious of where they must be. In that breif moment, a load of questions passed through her overwhelmed mind. Questions like, 'What about our families? What about school and the lives that are locked away on the other side of that mysterious door? What were they going to do to get back?'. All of this circulated in that moment she took before answering.
"Yeah... yeah, I do. Or... I did before, at least. There's something weird about this place. How could it change us all so much? I'm so confused..." she said a bit sadly. When he moved towards Noren she watched fondly. She couldn't help the small smile that played across her soft features. Already she was attached to the wolf.
She looked back at Kevyn's face as he spoke again. She shook her head and was about to speak up when Noren suddenly perked up. He had relaxed his ears as Kevyn had started to pet him, but now they were up again, as though he'd understood what they were talking about. He stood and looked to the forest infront of them, then started to dash into the trees again, brushing off Kevyn's hand.
A bit surprised, Terra stared after him. "Noren...? Wha... Where are you going?!" she called after him. She looked to Kevyn and grabbed his wrist, trying to pull him towards where ever her companion was suddenly running towards. "Come on, he must know something about the others, we can't lose sight of him!" she said with clear excitement in her voice.

With sudden suprise Kevyn felt himself being tugged along after the wolf.... What was going on?
"You think he knows something we don't?" he gasped. Then again, maybe the wolf could follow the signs Kevyn had seen of people going through and track the group to their new location.
Branches whiped past, Kevyn had to duck several times to avoid gouging out and eye or getting smacked in the face. A while later they stopped. Noren was standing, sniffing here and there. Kevyn wondered if he'd lost the trail. Then the wolf took off again and so did he and Terra. Trying not to lose sight of the wolf was harder than it looked and Kevyn had started to get a stitch in his side. All he could do was hope they arrived where they were going soon, or that Noren would tire out and let them rest a while.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 15, 2007 9:16 pm

"Can't be sure. But the last time he ran off like this, he found you, didn't he? So it must be something helpful... at least I hope so." she said over her shoulder as they continued to run after Noren's darting white form. But it was still hard to see him until he would jump over a bush or something of the like. Her body was feeling the strain and she realized that even without asthma that running was still a hassle.
She too ended up dodging tree limbs and craggy roots and almost had the feeling that the forest was fighting against them. When Noren stopped for a moment, she was abit crestfallen, but then he pursued the scent again and it was off with the running once more.
But it was worth it when they finally broke through the trees. Right before them was a glittering city with the bases of these huge trees hollowed out for homes and bridges leading across the canopies with dangling lights which were actually jars with some type of bright-glowing bug within. But they were much bigger than any earthly firefly.
She gasped at the sight, but the moment was short lived as Noren barked for them to keep following him. But at least now he was no longer running. He seemed to know exactly where he was going now, and led them through the busy elven square, where there were many mutters and averted glances. Noren walked straight up to a sort of greenhouse that looked fit to burst and sat himself near the front door, content with his work. The sound of voices was trailing towards them from, what sounded a bit like they were coming from the inside.
"Maybe.. this is it?" she said in a question. She was still in slight shock and a bit nervous about approaching the door.

((Note that the others aren't really still inside, but from where Kevyn and Terra are, it sounds like it. So don't go jumping over my wording...))

Luke merely tries to ignore Jeni now.
Never assume, eh? What about the assumption that he is here just to attack us?
Luke simply stays here with Gabe. If Gabe decides something is worth getting worked up over, then Luke will react. Until then, who is he to assume he should fear for his life? Gabe's been here long before he has...so Gabe will be the basis of his attitude.

(ooc - lets get the group (or at least the humans all together)
Jeni sighed again, then looked at each elf in turn, she'd noticed that elven eyes changed colour. Whether this had meaning or not was another matter, but it was something to consider in future. She did not see any open hostility directed at her classmates, though there was still some being directed at the new elf, this however, was not surprising given his entrance.
Jeni looked out of the greenhouse windows and noticed the remaining elves outside were looking at something round where the group had come into the house. The expressions on the elves faces were all to familiar.
"Damn," she muttered, "Did people get separated by accident?" she slipped away from the elves and back out onto the streets, the newcomers were easy to spot.
She recognised one of them,
"Terra," she called out, she shook her head when she saw the wolf, then she got a closer look at the other one,
"Whoa, Kevyn?" she asked, was it him, if it was he looked so different without his glasses.

Kevyn approached the greenhouse, then turned when he heard his name. His eyes landed on the first human face he found... he recognized it too. The face was familiar, though the different hair-style and out fit threw him off for a moment. What was her name..... Jeni? It sounded right.
"You're Jeni, right?" he said, he started to walk towards her. Then he remembered how his name had sounded, more like a question. From his meeting with Terra and looking at his face in a puddle he knew his missing glasses did a real number on his appearance.
"Yes, it's me, Kevyn," he said, "my glasses dissapeared after that whole door thing, but I suddenly don't need them anymore." The way he said the last part of the sentence indicated that this was still a strange and unerving concept. Suddenly, he realized something.
"We got separated from the group on accident, are they all here or are you lost too?" He hoped they hadn't just come upon another lone member, but somehow doubt still rose in his mind.

Just as Kevyn had, Terra turned as her name was called from behind. She found herself looking at one of her school friends and a smile spread slowly across her face as she walked towards Jeni, barely recognizing her through the changes. She noticed Jeni's skeptical gaze as she scrutinized Kevyn, unsure that it was really him. Another grin curved her lips, knowing the feeling. He did look alot different without glasses, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. She felt a rush of releif and happiness at the appearance of another familiar face. But at the same time the same thought that had just dawned on Kevyn as he spoke also crossed her mind.
"Oh, but I'm so glad we found you!" she said, just satisfied with Jeni's presence if that were the case. But other voices were still mingling on the other side of the greenhouse, so she waited for Jeni's answer.

((I might not be here in the next three days. Sorry guys. When I get back, we can just assume that I was there.))

Ichnel's ears twitched as he herd the sounds of more voices coming from outside his home. He saw Jeni, the stubborn girl, walk outside, apparently recognizing the voices.

"It appears we have more guests, Lae," Ichnel said.

He was still uneasy around the other dark elf, but it seemed for now, he was no threat. Ichnel had come to understand over the course of his time in Bredia that if animals didn't startle or run away, there was nothing to be afraid of. Especially if they were predators.

Marael's panther, Gabe, was calmly sitting next to the human Luke. With a small smirk, Ichnel noticed that Luke had adopted the same calm attitude as the panther.

"Good for him. I have a feeling this group needs a level-minded one. Ironic that Luke's element is so chaotic, but then again, Lae isn't bad at keeping her mind in a fight..."

Ichnel glanced at the stranger, still waiting for him to introduce himself.

As Jeni walked around to the front of Ichnel's house, Marael frowned and watched her disappear around the corner. Soft human voices, a boy and a girl, could be heard. Curious, Marael turned away from the dark elf and walked around to look at the newcomers. She relaxed as her eyes fell on their rounded ears and Jeni's posture which, although surprised, was also relaxed. She stiffened slightly as she caught sight of the winter wolf sitting a few feet away from the trio, his tongue lolling like a happy puppy. She glanced over at Gabe, who was rising, having smelled the wolf. Panthers and Winter wolves, as a rule, did not get along very well. In fact, you might say they were enemies, although they rarely ever met. She gave a soft curse as the panther stalked forward, his tail twitching in annoyance. His eyes had a wild, angry touch that she'd seen before when he went hunting. If he lost his control in the middle of the city, she knew someone was going to get hurt.

"Gabe." Marael said softly. He continued stalking toward her. "Gaebrial." She said in a more authoratitive tone. He stopped and looked at her. She knelt down to his level and locked eyes with him. He took a longing step forward. "No." She said softly. He stared at her, unblinking, his whole body tense. After a moment of contesting wills, he sat back down, relaxing slightly. Marael let out a breath she hadn't known she was holding and looked sideways at the panther. He seemed to be calm. She closed her eyes a moment then straightened. She had never tried stopping him when he went wild like that, and couldn't help but thank whichever gods were listening that he hadn't just mauled her and got on with it. She shook her head and stood up carefully, glancing at the three humans and the winter wolf, then back at Gabe. He seemed to have lost interest and was looking around Ichnel's garden boredly, although Marael could see a hint of anger as he swished his tail and looked around.

As Gabe rises, so does Luke. While watching Gabe stalk around, he grows a bit tense himself, but upon Marael's reprimand he relaxes, following Gabe's example.
"I don't mean to sound impatient or anything..."
He yawns a bit before continuing.
"I can't speak for the whole, but as for myself, I hear a bed somewhere calling out to me."
