Meanwhile, Asariel had finally noticed that Aaliyah was missing and was starting to get worried. After all, she was his little sister. Some dragons didn’t really have a family connection… he and Aaliyah were not those dragons. They were the other type, the sort that developed life-long bonds and would viciously attack anyone who threatened the other. Although, in Asariel’s case, he might not viciously attack, but he could seriously gum someone to death.

Although, at the moment, he was feeling anxious enough to flame someone instead. The entrances had been sealed. He knew this, and that only worried him more. It meant that Aaliyah was either inside and missing or outside and missing. Neither prospect seemed pleasing since inside, dragons were being attacked and outside there was no way to defend her.

And, knowing Aaliyah, the blue adolescent had little doubt that she had landed herself into trouble. Or she would shortly. It didn’t matter. Either way, there was still danger just around the corner for her. Still, he kept close to Zera and Grishmak, simply because he knew them.

As Viscal appeared, he eyed the spurs warily, wondering just where they had come from. He was almost certain Viscal hadn’t had them earlier… ah well, maybe he did and the blue adolescent simply hadn’t noticed.
~.~

As a matter of fact, Aaliyah was actually pretty damned safe at the moment. Well, sort of. She was still scared of facing Lierce’s probable wrath when he discovered that she had failed, but it wasn’t the sort of danger that Asariel was imagining. She sort of just kept out of his way as he tramped through the main area with Tarketh in tow. No need to bother Lierce now, she figured. He was already as mad as Hell and had probably already heard of everything by now.

She did her best to keep the remaining hatchlings and younglings cooped up, whether they wanted it or not. Still, it was awfully boring, staying here and simply watching over the others. And she was worried about that one Ascended hatchling, the one called Vastina. Hopefully, she was ok…

The idea of assigning someone else to be the guardian momentarily entered Aaliyah’s mind. It seemed like a good idea… maybe just assign a guard long enough to go find Vastina or learn more about what was happening…

No. That was the sort of thing that led to trouble. She had already gotten one other youngling harmed. She would make sure that none others were hurt.

((NIGHTIME OMG - I'm passing time to move to the next day cause all the possible chaos I had planned is done. Start getting into groups guys... you'll need help from other dragons and I'm stretched pretty thin with all these NPCs))

Morning rose dull and gray over Genyiel. Thankfully, the dragons were actually able to see the sunrise as late into the night Master Lierce retracted the ban on anyone entering or exiting the mountain. Among the first to leave were the Fallen, heading back to their own territory in the forests. It was either that or their presence would force Master Lierce to move against them, with the knowledge he had from Tarketh, and the result would be a very violent struggle in the heart of Genyiel. Both sides wanted to avoid that.

One Fallen, however, lingered. Tarketh prowled the halls of Genyiel, searching for a certain dragon that had some of his belongings. Trailing behind him was the dragon-egg thief, terrified and with bloodshot eyes from a sleepless night. He finally wound up in the main room and stayed near the walls, searching the crowd of young dragons that had spent the night there for Viscal.

In the hospital wing, the healer gently shook Blade awake.

"Hey," she said, "Sorry to wake you so early, but the Lady Shadine wants to see how you are doing today."

"Nngmph..." mumbled Blade as he slowly stirred awake. After being shaken gently by the healer, he let out a small yawn before glancing over at the side at her. It still took him a few more moments to really be awake, but even so he was still feeling fairly sleepy.

Over all, he was feeling much better than he was earlier, thanks to the antidote he was given. The wound in his right arm was hurting him quite a bit still, but that was to be expected.

Then nodding to the healer, he glanced around quickly to see if the female Ascended was anywhere nearby, as well as to try and see where Astalder was at the moment.

The young black dragon was sound asleep, curled up next to the bed. Every so often his tail or leg would twitch slightly, but other than that he was being quite still.

It had been an extremely hectic night for Aaliyah. She had sort of… well… assumed that most of the hatchlings would actually sleep at night. It was what most did, right? Night was for sleeping. Oh, how wrong she was. It had started with just one hatchling wanting to play instead of sleep, so the white youngling had been forced to placate the hatchling before the others woke up. Unfortunately, she wasn’t fast enough and it wasn’t long until other mewling hatchlings woke up, eager for playtime or food or something else. In turn, this woke up other younglings, who merely complained. Aaliyah wasn’t sure which she liked more.

It was a huge relief when the ban was finally lifted during the night. Most of the hatchlings had been claimed by the dragons of their clan and were off on their way back home. Since she was awake at the time, she couldn’t help but notice the giant bat-winged forms of the Fallen leaving as soon as possible. Hmm… that was a little strange. But, being too tired to really think about it, she fell asleep in short order.

She didn’t wake until dawn the next day when the sound of scale scraping against rock warned her of the approach of another. Yawning, she lifted her head up and stared blearily at the other dragon who…

She froze in mid-yawn, recognizing the bat-like wings of the Fallen. Hadn’t they all left? Waitaminute… the files of her mind flipped her another card, this one saying ‘Tarketh’ in neat writing. Right, right… and the man following him, that was the thief, wasn’t it? The white youngling snorted softly and watched the Fallen suspiciously, wondering just why he was here. There were a few Fallen hatchlings, true, but she doubted he was here for them.

Zera streched, waking up from her slumber. She noticed imediatly that her two brothers were gone. She sat bolt up and examined her surrondings looking for the twosome.

All around her dragons were waking up, but she was having trouble spoting her troublemaking brothers. She saw Asariel near by and bid him a good morning.

Across the clearing, were Zera couldn't see, Viscal was running hurridly over to the lingering Fallen. He was fearing the worst...fearing that Tarketh had been looking for him for a long time and was mad. Viscal flinched at the thought and found himself all to quickly standing in front of the Posion Flower...

Grishmak had changed...He'd changed a lot. For starters he was an adult, which is odd, considering he's the youngest of his family and yet, he had the appearence of an Adult. Secondly...he had a Dragon-bound. Finally, he was no longer a normal dragon. His mane had gotten furry and his tail fluffed out. The most amazing thing was the wings sprouting from his back. He was confused, and fallowing Viscal from the Shadows as he ran up to Tarketh.

Zera finally spotted Viscal, and ran over to him. She stopped halfway there when she saw he was greeting Tarketh and when she saw a weird dragon with the same markings as Grishmak walk over to Viscal.

Rue lay curled up next to his dragon friend as they slept where all the other younglings and hatchlings rested. His messy hair going every which way. Vastina woke first and looked about the group. She had yet to meet and get to know all these new dragons. She stood careful not to wake up Rue and then streached while yawning. She looked around then and saw Aaliyah awake. She smiled at the other dragon and walked over to bid her good morning. "Good morning. Sorry I ran off again. I...have a hard time not doing that."

Little Aaliyah had been so focused on glaring at Tarketh---as if hoping the ferocity of her glare could keep him away from the other hatchlings and younglings---that she didn’t even notice the Ascended youngling until she spoke. That in itself was surprising. It wasn’t easy to miss a starry-coated Ascended, after all. Vastina? It’s good to see that you’re ok… indeed, it was a great relief to Aaliyah who had been a little worried about the younger dragon. And her human companion, of course. Speaking of humans… she glanced back nervously at Tarketh before moving slightly in hopes of blocking off the Fallen’s view of Rue.

According to rumors, Tarketh hated all humans. It was a bit of a surprise to Aaliyah that the egg-thief was still alive. Hmm… just what had the Fallen learned… likely, he wouldn’t tell anyone everything he learned. That was the problem. What happened after you ran off? she asked curiously. Of course, she kept all communication at a mental level.

No need to worry anyone else. Say, who was that blue youngling going towards Tarketh? He looked a little familiar… had they spoken at the meeting?

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Asariel hadn’t slept much either, but for a slightly different reason. He had been too amused by Aaliyah’s attempts to be responsible to sleep much. It was just too funny! There was something horribly amusing about the somewhat fussy white youngling chasing around hatchlings and trying to get them to calm down and take a nap.

Hmm… he wondered what would happen today. Yesterday had been full of excitement and intrigue. Would today be any different? The Fallen had left early, he knew that, but, obviously, Tarketh hadn’t. It was no secret that Lania and Tarketh didn’t get along, so Asariel assumed it was that and nothing else.

“Morning, Zera!” he said, meandering towards the red and black female.

Tarketh smiled down at Viscal, his green eyes holding a rather contented glint.

"My spurs, if you will," he said lazily, "Keep the one on your ankle. I'm pleased with how things have turned out, overall." He briefly paused, considering what all would be amusing to tell the other dragon. "The poison on it can knock a human unconscious for several hours and paralyze a dragon. Unfortunately, it will need to be replenished every week to remain effective."

He lowered both his head and his voice so that only Viscal could hear his next words.

"I will teach you to make the poison yourself, if you prove to me that you're worth the effort. These spurs are weapons and when given to a new owner, a weapon must be blooded to be fully claimed. Use the spur against someone - anyone - and then come find me."

He turned and started to walk away.

"I leave Genyiel this evening. Find me before then."

Ithiel watched Viscal with barely concealed envy for a moment before settling back to simply observing the others with a swishing tail. He sighed and looked around the cavern with a bored look. It was just the same hatchlings and younglings as yesterday, with the random newbie. No one really seemed to be too interested in anything at the moment; he decided not to be, either.

~ The first time? I ran down the tunnel because...well something told me to go that way and when I got down there the two humans were hurt and the black dragon was laying on the ground too so I did the first thing I thought of. ~ Vastina explained as she looked down embrassed.

Rue stirred slightly and began to wake up but not too fast. He enjoied sleep a lot.

Orona stumbled around in the tunnels of Genyiel, eyes blood-shot from the lack of sleep. Nytior had insisted that she fly to this place and wander these tunnels and now they were lost. She turned to snarl at the wyvern yet again, but Nytior quickly jumped into the air and soar along the hall. Orona yelled in frusteration and flapped slowly upwawrd to join Nytior. "Y'know what? I don't like you. In fact, I..." Orona's eyes and wings drooped as she lost the battle to sleep. Gliding downwards, she landed softly at a dragon's feet. Nytior squawked in alarm and swooped down to Orona, trying to look ferocious.

Viscal nodded at Tarketh and handed him all the spurs back except for the one on his ankle. He also nodded slowly at Tarkeths last two comments, not really sure if he wanted to use them. Viscal then turned and started to run back to Zera and Asariel.

"Someones suspisous," a familar but not familar voice hissed from the shadowy edges of the Genyiel. Someone laughed from behind the dragon.

"Well, you seem- woahGrishmakisthatyou?" Viscal sentance ran together as he realised he was talking to his brother.

"Sadly, yes, but lets ignore that for now and pretend me and Thara are normal and I can 'enjoy' myself here." Grishmak replied, confusing Viscal.

"This isn't a place to enjoy yourself...Who's Thara?"

"My bound."

There was a silence and oddly enough, the two walked back to Zera despite the weirdness of it. Grishmak was trying to be normal and Viscal was ready to flip out on someone.

--------

"Morning Asariel!" Zera replied, deciding to ignore the sence she had witnessed.

Aaliyah divided her attention between glaring at Tarketh and listening to Vastina. The protective instincts inside of her stirred a little as the blue youngling with the spurs walked over to the Fallen, but doing that meant leaving the Ascended and her human companion alone. Choices, choices… but, it came down to this: Tarketh wouldn’t harm another dragon, at least not in front of everyone.

The white youngling’s suspicions kicked up a few notches as the Fallen leaned forward to whisper a few words in Viascal’s ears. What sorts of things was he filling the poor boy’s head with now?! Whatever it was, Aaliyah was prepared to bet everything she had that it wasn’t good…

Thank you for telling me, she said to the Ascended. It was useful, really, knowing what had happened. She would have to meet the black youngling again and ask him. Aaliyah had the sneaking feeling that her job involved knowing everything that was going on. Who attacked them? Was it Tarketh?

Jumping to conclusions was a thing that Aaliyah needed to practice NOT doing…

Maybe someone ought to go investigate the cavern that the Fallen had been staying in…
~.~

“What do you say to getting some breakfast? I’m starving!” As usual, the relevance of anything around him went right over Asariel’s head, leaving him behind. Most of yesterday’s events were also lost on the adolescent.

Well, almost everything… the memory of the human, screaming as he was dragged away with Tarketh, had stuck in his mind. It was a little unnerving for Tarketh to be right there… and the poor human was right behind him too, cringing whenever anyone so much as looked at him.

When he got a Bound, Asariel promised himself, he would treat it much better than that. He would ask before Binding, because that seemed like the right thing to do.

Vastina shook her head at the question. ~From what I saw it was another human that attacked them. He died though...I saw...~ She paused wondering what the white dragon would think if she said she could see, hear, and at times talk to ghosts and spirits. She knew that some didn't beleive her...Rue did though.

The thought of human roused himself further and then looked around after streaching for the Ascended female. Once he saw her he looked beyond her and saw a large oddly colored dragon talking to a younger one. All this new stuff confused him but he knew he had to learn all of it if he was to stay friends with Vastina. He crawled over to his favorite dragon and the other little white one that they had met yesterday. "Morning." He said in a muted voice seeing as he was still waking up a bit.

Grishmak, Thara, and Viscal conversed with eachother. Eventually, they struck a bargan. Viscal would protect Grishmak with his spur, as long as he figured out the poison from Tarketh...and they'd find Grishmak something to "eat"...without killing anything. They walked off in Aaliyahs general direction...staying in the shadows.

((I don't feel like giving there convorsation as its boring and really no help to anyone else, so if Viscal randomly knows facts or Grishmak randomly knows things about something the other has done, blame this convorsation. D:<))

"Breakfast would be great," Zera replied to her friend, "I haven't had anything to eat in ages. Should we try and hunt, or bother Fam?" Zera laughed a bit at her last comment.

"I'd just like to try and get yesterdays happenings out of my mind."
