Jay turned around when called, he had small rounded spectacles on, his right cheek had a red paint splotch on it, He had a small paintbrush held between his teeth and his blonde-white hair was up in a ponytail.

"Raven, what's wrong?" he asked, turning from his canvas where a picture of black and purple butterflies were leaping into the sky from flowers tinted by a deep red and orange sunset. he perched the clean paintbrush behind his ear and walked towards her, pulling his cushioned wicker chair out of the corner for her to sit on. The french windows leading to the balcony were open wide, letting a soft breeze filter in.

Jay studied Raven as he took hold of her hands, now he was rather glad they were free of any wet paint. He looked at Raven then diverted his gaze down to his hands.

Jay's eyes widened in surprise when he felt it, then another and then he felt a kick .His mouth twitched up into a smile. He gently directed Raven to sit in the wicker chair and then he kneeled before her, his cheek pressed against her stomach as one hand lay on her stomach while the other gently took hold of her hand.

"I can feel the baby moving" he whispered in a soft voice.

Jay took his glasses off and carefully putting them on the floor, pressed a kiss to Raven's tummy, enjoying being so close to their child.

"Asher's going to be overjoyed, I certainly am" Jay murmured softly, feeling another little kick on the area under his palm. He chuckled softly and sat back gracefully on his heels, staring up a Raven.

"do you need any help with anything? I can leave this to dry for a bit and come help you, or would you like to stay up here and chat with me while I work?" Jay asked, the CD he had been listening to came to an end, and the stereo mounted on the wall automatically clicked off, lately all he had been listening to was Panic!at the disco and number of instrumental soundtracks from various films he liked. For inspiration.

"Raven, I feel bad leaving you to care for the Undera so often when Asher comes home, so if there's anything you'd like me to do--anything at all, don't hesitate to ask okay?" Jay said softly, smiling brilliantly as he straightened up and looked to his half finished painting, half of the sunset was still missing and the butterflys were missing their patterns.

Jay smiled and chuckled about the night feedings and diaper changing, imagining Asher doing such a thing. He listening to Raven and touched a hand to her cheek, over time he had become accustomed to recieving kisses from Raven and placed a gentle one on her lips.

"I mean, if you ever get lonely at night, you can come wake me up and i'll keep you company...my insomnia has gotten worse over the past month" Jay said softly and hurried out the room, coming back in a few minutes later with Raven's sandwich and a tall glass of lemonade for her. He had just finished a packet of pocky so he wasn't hungry. Jay caugth her glancing at his painting and smiled.

"would you like me to place that in your room once I have it properly mounted?" he asked softly, placing the sandwich--on it's plate-- and the lemonade on a small table set next to the seat.

"i've always had trouble sleeping, the doctor says it's because I let myself ponder on too much and it's because I had a bad bout of depression when I was younger...he said stress and anxieties make me worse"

Jay answered softly, moving to work on his painting again thoguh he set it up nearer Raven, so the painting was at an angle, next to her. He took the small paitbrush out from behind his ear and dabbing it in some blue started painting intricate designs on the largest butterfly.

"i'll give it to you when it's done then" Jay said, sending a smile her way before he returned to concentrate on his painting, though he was listening to her also.
"is Asher back very late tonight?"

Jay smiled softly and moved onto another butterfly, this time opting for a purple color.

"you should tell me, tonight why don't I come and keep you company? that way if you can't sleep you won't get too lonely, i'm sure Asher won't mind" Jay said softly, moving his paintbrush down to add some purple shadow to a flower in his painting.

"I hate him being away so much, even if we live together...we seem more distant than when we lived apart" he wasn't sure when they exactly started living together though he definately didn't mind. His seeing Koe once was enough to settle any demons he had about his past for a time. And now Jay was alot happier than he was a few months ago.

Jay started cleaning his supplies up , taking the water pots and pallettes over to the sink and washing them properly, he took extra time to fully clear his brushes.

"I don't know....we could turn in early if you like...the Underas' seem a lot more tired these days, Merethist is getting his sleepy habits back" Jay said, with a chuckle.
