She actually tured evading the knock on her shoulder. Insted of answering she finished the trun and brought her claws aroudn from the other sideto slash at his thigh

Guan let the staff slide down from his hands, driving it in the path of Ukaia's slash. "Not bad," he said calmly. "Tomorrow I'll start training you for real."

Her claws clanged aginst the Staff
"What was today?" she asked him as she streightened up

"Call it a test if you like," Guan said, slinging the staff over his shoulders and walking towards the forest. "See you bright and early tomorrow."

Cerri wasn't sure why, but she'd headed here after making her escape from the building. Standing on the edge of the clearing, she leaned on one of the trees, taking deep breaths, eye closed tightly.

Cerri looked up, startled; she hadn't noticed the man at first. "I..." she began, voice a bit choked. "Sorry. I'll go... didn't mean to disturb you." she told him quietly, swiping her eye with the back of her hand as she turned to go.

Cerri gave a bark of laughter, pausing in her movements. "What a question." she whispered, wrapping her arms around herself. "I don't know if I can save her." she admitted, voice very quiet. "I'm terrified that I'll freeze up in the middle of the spell. I..." she trailed off, and shook her head, on the verge of tears.

"It is terrifying to be in that sort of situation," Guan said, walking over to where Cerri was standing. "If you fail, somebody dies, if you succeed chances are it's not going to be as good as you expected anyways. However, if you let your fear hold you like this, it's worse than failing."

"I know that... but still..." Cerri looked up at him, tears leaking out of her good eye. "I only just got to the point where I can be healed and not have a panic attack." she whispered, sounding lost. "It took me eight tries to make Arlen's new pendent. I don't... I can't... but I have too..." she turned away, shoulders shaking as she suppressed the noisy sobs that wanted to escape.

"I'm afraid I can't help much with the magic," Guan said, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I know a few techniques that could calm your nerves if that is the source of the problem, but they alter the flow of energy in the body and might make it more difficult for you."
