It was indeed true that he looked a bit lost and confused, and Micajah sighed inwardly as he noted the one boy he'd been following had disappeared into the crowd with effortless ease. Sighing a bit, he was about to turn and head back towards the boat (an idea he thought might work) when he heard someone approach him.

turning around at just the right moment he caught Norman's entrance and speaking of his name, and he raised his eyebrows in suspicion only to lower them when the man gave his own name. Of course the Headmaster would know who he was. In fact...he probably knew everything about him.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, sir."

Extending his own hand out he reached and took the Headmaster's own, marveling at how small and weak his hand seemed in comparison.

Perhaps all great men have hands like this.

"It is also my honor to be accepted here, at this school."

The man chuckled quietly. "It's our pleasure to have you, Mr. Ackart. More prestigious than the school itself are those who walk its halls." Norman gave the boy a firm but kind handshake, releasing the other's hand to return to a neutral position. "You can call me Norman if you'd like. Stuffy formality isn't necessary."

He cast a quick glance around the room, taking into account everyone present. "Was there another young man that arrived on the boat with you?" he mused out loud, returning his full attention to the youth. "I hope you've at least spoken with some of the other students." Norman pursed his lips thoughtfully before asking, "Do you have any questions about our school, facilities or staff? I'd be more than happy to explain anything you may be uncertain about before my next meeting."

Again with a light chuckle, he smiled, watching the youth curiously. He did, in fact, know a bit about Micajah, but perhaps not as much as the boy assumed. Norman believed in some measure of privacy, and quite frankly, it took the joy out of meeting new people if you already knew them from bad habits to food preference.

"Please sir, call me Micajah if you'd like."

when he hand was released it quickly went back to holding one of his luggage items, his knuckles turning white from the nervous grip.

"I was following someone earlier when I first arrived here, but he seems to have vanished into the crowds without me even noticing. I'm not very good at finding my way alone, so I opted to go back to the shoreline."

Still speaking politely, but not overly formal, Micajah slowly felt a little at ease with the gentleman standing before him. Of course he didn't really let it on as much as he'd think he would, still standing straight with his hands on his luggage like a refugee.

"As for questions about the school, I have very little. My Father briefed, well rather, told me about what I should expect before I came here. About the staff I'm merely wondering if they offer side lessons should someone get behind in a subject or suddenly have to do something else."

His brain picked itself over several times in an effort to find questions to ask, ways to learn knew things so he wouldn't be left behind like an idiot should the time arise.

"If you'd prefer, Micajah." It was an interesting name, but then...so was Scyeth. He wasn't sure he'd ever get used to all the foreign names of different cultures, but in a way, he hoped he never took it for granted. Norman listened appreciatively to the brief explanation and inquiry, inclining his head politely. "A good, important question to be sure.

The answer is yes. The classes are self-taught, but if you are behind or confused about anything, all of the teachers - my Advisors and myself included - are available for tutoring, so long as we are able. For example, I can't tell you a lick of magic, so if that is your destination, I will make sure to guide you to the correct people." He smiled at his poor attempt at a joke, hoping he wasn't making the boy too nervous.

With a wave of his hand, he asked, "Might I take some of your luggage? I'll take you to the dorm area if you'd like, point out the first classes you'll want to pay attention to. After that, I'm afraid I must be going onto more boring work."

Micajah's face sort of blanched at Norman's joke, his expression trying to figure out if he should humor the man by laughing along or just sit there dumbfounded at someone could say something so...lame. It did of cours ehelp to settle the youth's nerves, as he felt the man before him now to be less intimidating and more of a well, dork.

"Self-taught seems to be the best thing for someone like me, as I'm always afraid I take too much time in what I do and would end up being failed or passed over do to my lack of activity."

It was a good sigh that followed the statement, and Micajah smiled as he continued to listen to the Headmaster speak.

"As for my luggage, please don't trouble yourself. I was told to only pack what I could carry on my own as to not bother others, but I...I would like it if you were to show the way to the dorms. I've honestly no idea where to go next."

Norman likely would have agreed with being called a dork, but for now, he simply nodded at the boy and indicated with a sweeping motion of his hand. "If you'll follow me, then, Micajah. I'll show you to the new student lounge. You'll move again when you've decided your path, but...well, we'll wait for that so as not to heap too much on the first day."

The man lead the way out of the initial meeting ground, stopping just outside so he could walk side by side with the new student. He didn't usually meet and greet the new folk, but...this wasn't so bad after all! "This way, then."

Boats were fun! Nash had been raised in the country fair enough but that didn't keep him away from the fishing docks in town. Most of his time was spent out to sea with the fishermen and his father -- as the man was quite friendly with the locals. The ride over was a cake walk which was evident on the boy's face as he slipped from the boat with a curious smile, the only sign being a little disorientation for being on the boat longer than he was used to. He wobbled a bit getting his land legs back before situating himself and taking a look around...

So this was Shinkami. The soft lull of students mingling about as they conversed with one another was a humbling effect for the young boy. He took short strides through the crowd, noting just how enormous the school was, compared to the gentleman's vague description. "I'm going to get lost here." He muttered to himself. Eventually he found a secluded area where he could get a better understanding of his surroundings, deciding that observation was his best option.

He smiled and nodded to passerby, not wanting to seem rude but unable otherwise to take that first leap into the unknown. Thankfully his mind was instantly shifted to the movement of a small creature ruffling around in his front cover-all pocket. "Hey calm down in there, Diz. You're going to attract attention." He whispered to the creature, it was surprising but the tiny marsupial was different from the others he had seen in the pet shop back at home. It would have been a horrible thing to leave his closest companion.

At the mention of her name, Diz, lifted her tiny head from the pocket sniffing the air for any potential dangers. What came out of the pocket was the cutest, if not strange, looking creature known as a sugar glider. It didn't leave the pocket fully just allowing its head to peek out, much like the pouch she harbored, the boy's pocket played an important role in bonding.

Nash smiled petting the sugar glider's head before stuffing her back inside. "You're suppose to be sleeping..." He knew the trip would wreck havoc on Diz's nocturnal clock. But leaving her with his mother was simply out of the question. Once all the excitement settled down and he found out where he was to stay, he'd get her back on schedule. "Be a good girl and stay in the pocket." He whispered nervously as his lavender eyes scanned the space of the auditorium. A few of the students looked to him quizzically, but he didn't mind so much, as long as they didn't come over asking questions he would be fine... Then again.. He had come to the school to change. He had come to find a new life for himself. Shouldn't it involve friends this time around?

"Your boat came early." The voice was deep, pleasant and kind, coming from the direction that the boy had just taken. "I'm glad I was able to catch up to you."

Norman smiled at the ruffian of a boy, monocle in hand, cleaning it with a handkerchief pulled from the breast pocket of his pin-stripe suit. Content, he folded the light blue cloth back within the charcol fabric of his jacket, placing the monocle back over the left of his dark blue eyes. "You must be Seibehn Nash," he attempted in greeting, extending his hand, "the Harbor security said they saw you come this way.

I'm Norman Prinwaltz, the Headmaster here. We're honored to have you join us."

Nash jumped at the sound of the voice and turned to find a rather prestinely dressed man. He looked important, knowing this Nash suddenly felt self-conscious of his own outward appearance. This became apparent in the way he smoothed out the wrinkles in his pants and tried running his fingers through his hair to give the orange tresses a more presentable apperance. This however, seemed to work against him as a calyx sprung from his hair, and the wrinkles that were pressed out only showed the dinginess of his hand-me-down clothing.

Still he managed to keep a positive front as he held out his hand. "Yes, I am Nash. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." He offered in greeting, remember his manners despite his uncomfortability. "I never would have guessed how huge this place could be, it's really impressive." Nash praised taking another look around once introductions were exchanged.

Norman chuckled and nodded in agreement. "It's very large, and I certainly don't want you lost on your first day. If you'd like to come with me, I'll give you a short tour on the way to your dorm. You'll get to meet a few more of our boys there, and don't worry; some of them still get lost." He smiled kindly, nodding his head in the direction intended, north of where they stood.

"By the way, please feel free to call me Norman. Even Headmaster. Sir is far too stuffy for me." Another quiet chuckle to himself, clasping his hands behind his back. "So you prefer to by Nash, then?" His blue eyes shifted around, a dark brow lofting in question, "Do you have any luggage? We have supplies and anything you'd need, of course, but some of our students prefer something of familiarity." Norman had a feeling it wasn't the case with Nash, not after reading the file on the boy.

At Norman's reply, Nash nodded and showed his interest in the way he looked around. Taking in all the school had to offer. He was quite certain there was plenty more to explore once he got his foot in the door. For now he would mind his manners and try to stay out of trouble.

With the slight correction from Norman, a sudden unease fell over Nash, his violet eyes looking down at the floor. "I apologize, sir.. er .. I'm sorry, I mean Headmaster." He fumbled over himself, trying to find the right things to say. "It's just the way I was brought up, is all." He trailed off falling in silence as they walked along.

He wasn't used to people being nice around him so tried his best to keep up with the pace. "No, I didn't bring much luggage. Just a few cloths and some things from home. It should all be here." He held up what looked like a potatoe sack. No, not much in the way of luggage at all but Nash was never one to complain.

"A fine way to be raised Nash, there is no need for apologies here." He smiled again, extending an arm in the direction of where the bulk of the buildings were. "I'd rather you be comfortable, to be honest, but I'd also rather not have trivial things like rank and title to get inbetween myself and my students. We're all here for a common goal." Perhaps it was a little hypocritical to call them his students, but it was out of fondness. Norman nodded, to himself more than anything, before leading the way at a slow, leisurely pace. Not only was he much taller and long-legged than his charge, but he wanted the youth to get a good look around. The school was impressive, and the Headmaster was proud of all that had been accomplished.

"Do you have any questions for me, Nash?" he asked politely during the stroll.

Nash couldn't help but wonder about a few things, but one inparticular. "Um... are there, I mean do you condone bullies in this school?" The question was a bit off key for him but he simply didn't want to leave one form of bullying to be subjected to another alien form of bullying. Though he did ask the question to better understand the Headmaster. Did he truly watch after the children here or was he all show? What sort of problems did some of the other students go through, if bullying was one, the Headmaster should be aware of that. "It's just I'm little uncomfortable with being pushed around and all." He trailed off looking at some of the buildings while he thought of how to phrase his words. "I'm sure you know. 'Bout my home situation and all, I just don't want to be repeating that if I can help it." He did smile in good cheer but there remained a seriousness to his tone and in his eyes.

Oh god. It was coming back up! He thought his stomach was empty, the poor boy had already hurled twice over the deck. How much more could there be? Thankfully the only thing that came up was the dry heaves. The little Russian was pale and sweating from some killer motion sickness.

When the landing came in sight, Alexander was ready to pounce on dry land, but instead he tripped over the pier and just sat for a minute. Well so much for his first nautical voyage. Sasha had never seen the ocean let alone sailed on a boat before and he hoped to never again. He hoped his brother was faring better than he.

Once the world stopped rocking back and forth, he got back up, adjusted his scarf and began very carefully walking in a straight line up the dock and to the school.

Sasha kind of wished someone would have told him it would be such mild weather as he was completely bundled in his winter fur and scarf. Taking off his deer skin gloves, he packed them in his coat and watched other piers unload. Sasha wasn't the only one arriving it seemed.

Coming to the receptionist entrance, Sasha had to stop and look up in dumbstruck awe. Wow. This place pretty big. He had certainly seen this many people and more, but the sheer size of this institution was unimaginable. The biggest building he'd ever been in was a church and... it wasn't even close. "Oh my..." He didn't' feel so confident anymore, especially without his brother by his side.
