Both Seamus and Jamie turned to the girl that came in. Seamus' eyes widened when he saw the girl and Jamie, seeing Seamus' reactions, quickly stepped in front of him. "Aye mum, and welcome the Walkers' Fighters Shop. We sell weapons and armour of the highest quality and the lowest price. We even take special orders." It was obvious that Jamie has done this before. While Jamie had the girl's attention, Seamus quietly went towards the back of the shop. Jamie saw this in the corner of his eye, and a business opportunity popped into his head. "And for a very limited time only, special orders will be ready in only a couple of hours with no shipping and handling charges. And with your own special order, only the skies are the limits." Jamie said the last part with a wave of his hands in emphasis.

(And don't worry. Mum is just another polite way of saying miss or ma'am.)

Rosette nodded as she spoke, her fingertips brushing her chin as she glanced about at the various weapons, along with battle axe the two had just been conversing about.

"It's a real tempting offer, good man, really tempting..." Rosette said sheepishly. "But I'm not here looking to buy. I'm a bit lost, and I was just hoping for directions back to the port. I'm got a ship to catch real soon."

"Och, tourists. Ye go out that door there and ye make a right. Keep goin' downhill 'til ye get to the port." Jamie said as Seamus finally snuck into the back. "If ye dinna mind me askin', but wha' ship were ye goin' on?" Jamie asked. Seamus already knew it was the Seraphim, and Jamie knew it too by Seamus' reactions to the girl. But Jamie had an idea and just wanted to confirm that she was from the Seraphim. He's probably gonna hate me for this. Jamie thought.

"Me? I'm on that ship, the Seraphim, the one that's on some long voyage. I'm the mage aboard that vessal! pretty amazing, right? Mind you, it's good to get one last stand in on dry land. I like the sea, but land just as nice." She said, stretching her hands above her head a bit. She had a sweetly sad look on her face as she glanced about.

"I think my father used to do stuff like this... he died when I was little, but I think he made weapons and stuff like this. You're really good! Trust me, I've seen some pretty shotty stuff in my day, but this is superb! You'd do best to charge well for this kind of stuff! And I don't mean that as brown-nosing either!" She added with a good-natured laugh. She turned to head towards the door, but paused to offer one last bit to Jamie.

"By the way, name's Rosette, and you? If I get the chance, I should probably pay you back for your help!"

Jamie picked up a small dagger and looked at iot as though he was inspecting it. "Nae worries mum, I have everything under control." Jamie suddenly let fly the dagger towards Rosette. Aiming the butt of the dagger at Rosette's head with enough force to knock her out. "Jamie!" Seamus exclaimed as Jamie leapt forward to catch Rosette so that she wouldn't fall and hit the ground.

"No, honestly, I just wa-" Rosette had been giving Jamie her usual coy smile. Just an easy, laid back look. he seemed like a nice enough person, that is, until he flung that dagger of his at her head. She was it coming, but had no time to register the fact that she had to stop it. In the blink of an eye, her world went black.

In fact, she had been doing something as the dagger was launched, she'd reached into her pocket for something, but as the weapon struck her down, her hand slipped, and a strange, hexagon shaped medallion with odd markings on it fell from one of her pockets. While she was caught by Jamie and did not his the ground, the medallion clattered away noisily against the hard floor, either to be taken for profit, or left to collect dust.

Meanwhile, Chrono had been busy buying some thing for Rosette and himself for the next leg of the rip. He'd already found himself some nice slacks, a shirt, and a vest, but without Rosette around he had no idea of what sizes she would where. So he settled himself with buying her a handsome new cloak, just in case they encountered any nasty weather.

He'd just made at a pit stop at a small shop that sold jewelry and other trinkets. There was no use in Rosette being upset with him the entire voyage, and it wasn't often she was treated to very nice things. He'd just picked up and odd, bejeweled necklace when a sudden, sharp pain erupted from his forehead, just along the hairline. He dropped the necklace almost instantly and slapped his head instinctively with his hand. He rubbed it for a few seconds before glancing at his hand, his fingertips slightly reddened by his own blood. He felt woozy for a moment, and leaned against a display to steady himself.

"This... this isn't good..." He thought as he regained his compsure. Without even bothering to pick up the necklace he 'd dropped as he raced out of the shop and back towards the Seraphim. Fortunately enough, the Captain was there, overseeing the collection of the supplies.

"Captain! Captain!" Chrono yelled as he came within earshot. "Captain, it's Rosette! I think something's happened to her!"

Tanyeera woke up with the floor moving under her. Earthquake! she thought with panic. She had to get out of the cave before it collapsed!

Then she regained her senses before she could do much damage to her stall in her panic to get out. She was on the Seraphim. Of course the floor was moving, they were on the ocean.

She yawned and shrank herself to human then staggered/bounced/richocheted off to the deck for some fresh air, arriving just in time to hear Chronos yelling. Instantly snapping alert, she stood tense and waiting to hear more about it. She'd have liked to question him herself but he'd addressed the Captain and she couldn't interrupt.

Skye rolled out of bed and onto the floor with a thud, waking up with a groan. The ships consant rolling with the waves helped her modd a bit, though she still cursed under her breath as she quickly threw on her clothes, leaving her boots off as ussual. She grabbed a hard biscuit from her small pack and went up on deck, walking towards the railing to look out at the sea they would be setting out upon. The sky looked pretty clear, but that could easily change. Skye held the biscuit in her mouth and climbed up to her favorite spot to perch and watch all the comings and goings. Settling herself on the lower beam holding the main topsail, she directed her gaze to the port and it's hustle and bustle. She saw a lad come running towards the ship and yelling to the captain about a certain Rosette, "Trouble? So early on? We haven't even left port yet." she commented to herself.

[Yahoo, hey Tanyeera!]

An opportune moment exposed itself to the female griffin. Gesten had just secured a load of barrels filled with freshwater, some even with beer possibly. His back is facing the upper decks. Luft narrows her eyes in sheer, excited glee. Inhaling deeply through her nostrils she expands her brown-tipped wings and launches her body from her statue-like post on the Seraphim. Seagulls within the port wail with alarm as the feathered huntress suddenly careens from the ship's wood. The gray beast tucks her wings over her back to pull upwards, outstretched talons clamping around the lizardman's shoulders. It had been a very short take off due to the distance between them and the gryphon's wingspan. Luft croons as her friend writhes in rising anger, her beak tapping the top of his scaled head to further irritate him. A young human man begins to shout for the captain and this distracts the griffin, giving her prey his own opportunity.

Although having slightly clawed hands, the hertasi ties a tight knot alongside a sailor working with him. Gesten gives a polite nod and smile to the other sailor, it is rare to work with a hertasi. The sudden cry of numerous gulls alarm him, even spooking him. His tail stiffens behind him and he parts his jaws slightly to hiss automatically. A powerful grip latches about his shoulders to lift him a few feet from the supplies' deck. Unnerved by the attacker, the nearby sailors back off quickly. Gesten only chuckles, hissing again and leering at the human males. His clawed feet kick slightly, hoping to throw the griffin off balance. This is redundant seeing as he is much lighter than she is. Once the man from a few nights ago comes running for the Captain about his companion, the hertasi twists about and drops to the deck as Luft does. He swiftly turns about and hops onto her back, latching his arms around her neck in a powerful, yet friendly grip.
"Luftie, I have to work just a bit more...when I'm done, you should come into the town with me. You don't have to watch over the ship every second that we're in a port..."

"Jamie ye clot-heid! What the hell did ye do that for?" Seamus demanded. "What ye were supposed to be doin'." Jamie answered. "Ya, but kidnapping! I don't care that yer my cousin and ye took the family oath, but I was chosen to do this and I will do this my way!" He stated to Jamie. "Aye, and ye are doin' a fine job of it too." Jamie said sarcastically as he picked up Rosette and carried her to the back. "Ye asked for my help and I'm given it to ye. And don't ye worry, I'll only keep her till the ship leaves." Jamie said. "I still don't care since it is my mission. And I highly doubt it that yer wife will like the fact the her husband got himself into kidnapping young lassies." He said as he followed Jamie into the back of the shop. Jamie turned around to face him. "I told her what our family is like before she married me, and she still became my wife." He shook his head as Jamie said this. "Fine, but ye better take good care of her." He said before leaving the shop.

He spun quickly when he heard Chrono shouting. That boy was quickly becoming the bearer of bad news for him, and he knew by the tone of his voice that something was amiss. Then the boy said it, declaring something had gone wrong, and of all people, his top mage. But of course. No voyage is without its troubles. When Chrono was just a few feet from him, Zeiser responded. "What sort of trouble has come upon us now?" he asked in his ever so calm voice. He had no reason to be troubled, but even if he were, his voice would never betray his thoughts and feelings. A Captain must be calm, cool, and collected at all times. It was the same for any leader, and Zeiser made damn sure that he did his job to the utmost of his abilities.

Chrono skidded to a hault before the Captain, his hands on his knees as he caught his breath.

"Captain, sir... It's Rosette! I...I think something bad has happened to her!" Chrono began, he had to think quick, they'd never believe the truth."W-We were out shopping and got seperated, I found some of her things on the ground, and this!" Chrono took outRosette's locket, he had pocketed that morning, to show the Caprtain. For fear of it being stolen, Rosette never wore it on her person. She always had it stowed away, or close to her through Chrono. "She would never leave this lying on the ground. Please sir, believe me if you wish, but something is truly amiss here!"

Tanyeera was alarmed. A crew member missing? She yearned to ask Chrono exactly where he'd found Rosette's things on the ground so they could commence the search immediately but held her tongue out of deference to the fact that it was to the captain he speaking. She was listening very, very hard though.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 02, 2007 9:32 pm

Zeiser folded his arms over his chest and listened intently. It certainly sounded trustworthy, and he had no reason to doubt Chrono. He had been just as reliable, if not more so than every other member of his elites. Besides, even if Chrono had some reason to make it up, the Captain was well aware of his crew's need for that mage. She had single-handedly sealed away the voices that had previously permeated the ship, and the crew would never forget that, even if none could match a name to her face.

"Very well." He turned to Tanyeera, whom he had noticed was listening ever so intently. He put an arm out, gesturing toward her. "Tanyeera shall assist you in your searches. Although this matter is of the utmost importance to me, I cannot leave the ship. I still must supervise, and I feel you are more suited to finding your partner than I am just as I am more capable of overseeing the crew's work. I urge you, though, make haste. We can't stay in port for one person, no matter how important any of us may think she is. We have orders and they have a deadline. Now you two go, and take two more of the crew if you see it fit. Make haste!" He gave a wave of his hand as if brushing a cobweb aside, insisting that they leave now.

Tanyeera sprang forward the moment the captain called her and immediately started interrogating Chronos. "Where did you find her things and her locket? Can you take me there at once? I might be able to pick up a scent."

The lives of the crew were her reponsibility, she wanted to track Rosette down as quickly as possible.
