Character Education is basically the school trying to take over the lazy parents position to teach their kids morale.
The system is so stupid, because we have the words of the month, and then on the first tuesday of every month, we have like a class preaching about that word and how we can use it. (You know, like how to "respect" and "honor" people).
This is boring and many people skipped it. So then it got to "Come ot character Ed and we'll give you donuts" bribing.
This seems like a good idea, but the problem is the homeroom teachers have to come up with the lesson plans themselves. They have no extra time to do this than usual, so the character ed class ends up being a whole lot of nothing.
And to add salt to water, we have the same words every year. So if it wasn't boring the first time, it's definetly boring the second. And the third.
Thankfully, this year they came up with Slightly different words. More worthless words, but different, so yay.
This word was "relationship".
My homeroom teacher brought in someone's dad to talk about "business relationships".
I was literally taking notes.
He told the class all about resumes and how to act during an interview, dinner, outings with boss... Everything.
He even gave us a business personality test(before the actual class, so he gave us the results during the class) so we could see what businesses wanted out of us.
His 45 minute speech literally got me off my a** to get a job.
Yes. AS OF TODAY, I HAVE A JOB APPLICATION. GO ME.
All because of character ed, what used to be a 45 minute waste of time. ^_^

You should thank your teacher for having him in, talk about the impact it had, and say how much better it was than the usual CharEd stuff.

I actually don't think it was the teacher's doing, I tried to thank the speaker but he disappeared (literally) before I could say anything.

Comprimise. Why is it so hard to do? I absolutely refuse to choose between two friends and I don't like being placed in that type of situation.
Just grow up, both of you. Apologize or whatever you need to do. I am not doing this.
I care about the both of you and this just sucks.

JoVo For working part-time where? QT. I get my gas filled up there. It is like a popular gas station. They treat their employees like royality because QT is the highest place where people either: A) Go on Beer Runs. B) Get robbed. C) Have to deal with long lines of people and expect for the place to look clean and pretty.
There is a lot of the B thing... so, please be careful!
And have a wonderful day at the QT! wink

[Q] OMG! It's like first-job HEAVEN! No way. My comic book shop beats the pants off any long term benefits you could give me. I get to read all the main label comics a week before they come out, I sit around and look through boxes of older than hell books, and I get to talk about them to everyone that walks in the door (all four of 'em wink ).
