Haruki sighed looking around. For some reason, he had been drawn to the small garden. He saw the teahouse not too far away and wondered if he should be heading there instead of wasting time in a garden.
His mind drifted to the girl who had stolen his heart. She had been standing under a cherry blossom tree, looking to the sky dreamily, the wind caressing her soft hair. She had looked and smiled, captivated by the delicate blossoms.
Haruki shook his head, reminding himself where he was. He had to find her - the daughter Foxchan had decided to pretend never existed because she ran away to follow her dream.
He walked the garden, passing others quietly. He kept his hand near his trusty katana, more out of habit than any kind of fear or alarm. He stopped suddenly, his eyes widening.
Underneath an old cherry blossom, she sat. She was smiling softly, holding a stray cherry blossom in her hand. Haruki felt his heart beating faster as he happily just stood and watched her.

Tohru sighed and finally held up her hand, allowing the cherry blossom to be blown away by the wind. She leaned against the tree closing her eyes for a moment.
However, she suddenly felt eyes on her. She stood up slowly, trying to keep attention away from her and looked around. Tohru gasped as she saw him staring at her - a ghost straight from her past.
"Haruki," she whispered amazed. "Wha...I..." She felt a cold fear grab her heart. 'Oh God...Father must have sent him to force me to come home! No! Never! I will not give up my dream!'. Without a second thought she turned and started to run.

Haruki lurched forward, grabbing Tohru's arm before she could run away. He made sure to be gentle, so not to hurt her. "Tohru, wait, please," he said evenly, not wanting to sound too desperate.
"Please don't run from me; let me explain."

Tohru felt herself go pale, blind terror overtaking her. She knew Haruki was stronger than her; there was no way she could get away.
Too frightened to keep on her usual mask, she looked at him with large eyes and asked quietly, "Why did you come here?"

Haruki's eyes softened a little. What was Tohru so afraid of? Certainly she knew he was a honorable man and would never harm her. Afterall, he wasn't that much older than her.
"I had to find you, Tohru...I...I wanted to see you," he started quietly.

Tohru felt her heart stop. 'Oh God, he did come to take me back, didn't he? He wouldn't have come all the way here just to see me. He just wants to claim his trophy bride!' she thought terrified.
"Never," Tohru whispered softly and angrily. "I refuse to go back; I belong here."

Haruki blinked surprised, loosening his already loose group. He felt an ache in his stomach from the way Tohru was acting. Did she really hate him this much? What had he done to deserve such cold treatment?
"What are you talking about Tohru? Take you back where?" he asked almsot hurt.

Tohru felt her temper starting to rise.
"Don't play dumb with me, Haruki! You came here to force me to go back home, didn't you? Father must've raised my worth or had more offers come in on me to make you want to come here!"
She made sure to keep her voice as low as possible to ensure to keep the attention away from her.

Haruki released Tohru's arm and narrowed his eyes. "I know you're not this foolish, Tohru. Your father has disowned you and even denies your existance. Your mother is the one who told me what had really happened. I came of my own free will to come and see you, but I can see now that it was a mistake," he replied coldly. He walked off angrily, needing a moment to calm down.
What was wrong with her? What had happened since she had left to turn her into such a strange and untrusting creature? Certainly they had only met a few times, but every time Haruki tried to win Tohru's trust and show her he'd be more than just a man looking for a trophy wife. He found a stone bench and sat down, trying to release some of his anger.

Tohru felt a twinge of guilt as Haruki stormed off. She then furrowed her brow and crossed her arms.
'How can he just walk and expect me to trust him? The nerve of him! How could I have known he disowned me? Stupid Haruki...why did he waste his time coming here?' she thought angrily before sitting down underneath her tree again.

When the trees and sitting did nothing to erase his anger, he walked angrily out of the cherry blossom garden, not sure where he would go. At the moment, he didn't really care. He just needed to get away.

Tohru sighed and stood up again, brushing herself off. 'Haruki has ruined my mood...I don't even want to be here right now, and I love cherry blossoms,' she thought annoyed.
Defeated, she left the garden to see about heading to the teahouse with Tora.

Kaida entered the garden and was taken back by it's beauty. "This is beautiful!" she said. Kaida read the golden plaque on the wooden door and smiled. "Wow... Tora-sama did this? No wonder." She walked along the path to the koi pond and sat down.

Tohru stumbled into the garden, fighting back tears. She found the tree she had been under before and slowly walked over to it. She leaned against it and held it tightly, sobbing.
'Oh Mother...I miss you, Mother...I never...I never wanted to worry you...I...I'm just following my dreams like you told me to. I never meant to throw you away! Never!'
