Rose smiled, blushed, then looked away. She didnt want him to see how red she got. "Whats your birthday?" she said, to brake the awkward silence.

"My birthday? August 12th. How about your's?" He slipped his wand back into his back pocket where he normall kept it. It was probably one of the reasons he'd forget it was there; he was very used to it.

Rose smiled "December 15....." she trailed off. How long ago did she celebrate that? her last party was when she was 11. She looked down. A cold breeze blew, and she got the chills.

Aiden tilted his head at her. After mentioning her birthday, she seemed to become sad. He hoped that she was alright but he didn't want to put his nose into her business. "Did you want to go somewhere else?," he asked when he noticed her shiver.

"I dont know...the flowers, the scents...the beauty..." she smiled. "I like it here. I was born near here. I have a feeling it is where I belong, you know? Like my heart is here. I find comfort here..." she trailed off. She hope she wasnt scaring him away, getting all deep. Some guys didnt like that.

Aiden nodded in understandment. He would have started up a small fire for her so that she could warm up but he wasn't an idiot. All the gardens would go up in flames...and he'd be in a ton of trouble...

"it must be really hard....being away from your school and your mum and dad, huh?" she was now shivering a bit and had wrapped her shawl tightly around her. She understood all that. She hadnt seen her mum or dad since she was 4. She was happy that she was talking to someone with so much in common. It made her feel good.

"I do...but I knew I would when I came into the exchange program. Plus, I've got Cat with me so I'm not totally alone." He looked up and toward the sky. It appeared as if several clouds were rolling it. He only hoped it wouldn't rain... "Do you have any siblings?"

she smiled. "I guess we have time...its a long story...You see, my mother put me on the doorstep of my current mom, when I was 3. She told me to wait while she....got me something to eat...." she sighed. "Well, It all turned out fine because all these years later my sister Heather came to live. And, my best friend Devon came also. Then his friend Jesse came also. And my mermaid friend, Misty lives near also. I guess we are all family, you could say."

"I'm sorry to hear that...but I'm glad you've got some friends around. I live with a lot of others...an elf, a drow, two royals, a normal girl, Cat, and a mermaind...though the mermaid is never around. She prefers the sea." He moved a little to the side and leaned back against a tree.

Rose felt very compelled to draw his position. Very cute. She considered for a moment if she was boring him. "So...um..." she blushed a deep pink, and looked away. She knew that she had to be blowing his image of her. she breathed deeply, and let out an awkard giggle. She felt a little raindrop hit her neck, and a loud clap of thunder. She jumped, landing practically on top of Aiden. "Im..um...sorry..I hate thunder." she quickly sat up.

Aiden flinched when her heard the thunder then toppled over when Rose jumped onto him. He blushed slightly then shook his head. "It's alright." Just then, the sky opened up and the rain poured down. He scrambled over to the tree to avoid getting too wet, glad that the leaved were wide.

Rose really wished just at this moment that they were dating. Just for the mere fact that they could cuddle and share body heat, because the rain made the air colder and wetter. "Cold and wet...cold and wet...were gonna get cold and wet.." she chanted. "Its a thing we did for girl scouts, we would do it whenever it rained like this." she started to feel mor comfortable, and sat next to him, leaning against the tree. "Now what are we going to do about this weather?"

Aiden stared out at the rain. It was almost deafing when combined with the thunder. "I'm not sure. I dunno about you but I don't feel like going out there and getting soaked." He grinned while looking at her then he glanced back. He couldn't even remember the last time he played out in the rain...

As if reading his mind, Rose replied "When I was young, I would dress in my robes when it rained like this. And I would pretend I was Snow White waiting for her prince to kiss her. I would dance in the rain....I would sing, I would laugh..." she smiled, and took his hand. The garden looked so beautiful she just couldn't resist. "Dance with me..." she whispered.
