twilightwyrm Seems...crappy. Ah well, anyway I think I should give warning in advance, probebly not going to be here over the weekend so...yeah. I'll try to check on daily, but I can't be sure of anything. I'll be here tomorrow, but...yeah. So anyway just to give some warning in advance. Assuming this encounter end's tomorrw, just assume in any other encounters I protect the dwarf's flank, or possibly say I was put into solitary confinement for a couple of days becasue I stabes a guard in the leg. If during that time You guys make your escape, assume I come along bringing up the rear. DJ has limited premission to roleplay my character if it is at all necessary (treated as an NPC), but remember I'm a survivalist so I'm not likely to do anything that will get myself killed. Like I said I'll still be here tomorrow so any questions you think of you can ask me then, but after that...yeah. I'll NPC you if necessary, don't worry, I'm not expecting any deaths this early in the campaign xp I'm not that evil and sadistic

Well, it does seem that this game has ground to a halt for the time being, hasn't it?

Okay, as far as I can tell in the rules, what I did is legal. Dropping an object is a free action, you can make one attack as a standard action, and since I only get one attack at 1st level...heh and picking an object up is a move equivalent action. Since you get one standard action and one move equivalent in a round (or two standards, or two move equivalents, or a full round action), and any reasonable number of free actions, there shouldn't be anything wrong. But I know that it is, like all things, up to the DM. So, if you don't agree with it, let me know and just lower my AC by 2 for this round (after my turn) since I wouldn't be able to pick up my shield.

I'll assume a rat got in front of me. (Without a graph these things can be hard to figure out. I don't use miniatures, but I'm thinking I should start including a graph or something so as to better show player actions)

If I ever have concerns of actions during combat, I'll let ya know. Your actions were fine. Being a round's worth of actions is 6 seconds about total, I could see someone dropping their shield, slamming it down, then swiftly picking it back up
