The way he was wearing the trenchcoat became slightly uncomfortable and Tac pushed Cora away for just a moment to slip it off his arms and back, leaving it crumpled near his lower back, offering a slight cushion against the wall. With a quick tug his hand wrappings fell in a pile off to the other side compared to Cora, a tnagled mess of cloth. He then returned her back to where she had been craddled, putting his arm around her and letting out a brief sigh. This place was a sanctuary, not a place where sadness should come, "Cora, from the little bit that I've interacted with Luke, and by what I can infer, I'm betting Luke wouldn't want us moping about him. Care about him, likely somewhere inside he'd want that, regardless of if he shows it, but he wouldn't want us to be all upset. Wounds heal, scars fade, bad experiences are forgotten. All anyone ever needs is time, and here we have all we need, and none at all." He reached over and took her hand in his, lightly caressing the back side of her hand, "Lets shift our thoughts elsewhere. Just say whatever comes to mind, or we could go back to what we were talking to before. Possibly even just talk... about us..."

:::Cora's eyes shifted downward for a moment. True she was very upset about Luke's state...but even if Luke didn't want them worrying for him, Cora had to be concerned about what the Seraphim was doing. But she wouldn't bring that up to Tac, she decided it was best to move away from that topic, so she replied, a bit sheepishly:::

What about us...?

He thought for a second, trying to figure out the best way to phrase it and gather his thoughts. When he spoke it was a near absent tone of voice, he was fully engaged in the conversation, but he was acting rather casually, "Well, I don't know, most anything really. Like, is there anything you want to see of my world I could show you? No...not what I mean, um, is there anything you want to know about me? Or maybe just talk about relationships in general. I mean, there is a certain amount that you seem to know, without even knowing. Just through instinctual actions, but, um...is there anythign you'd like to know further? Deatils?"

:::She purses her lips in thought::: The trouble is, I do not even know enough to ask the right questions.

:::She gives herself a second:::

That night, when you put your lips to mine, that was a kiss right? And it meant...it was, a symbol of affection?

A slight smile cracked across his face as he nodded slightly, "Yes Cora, it was a kiss. It was definately meant as a symbol of affection, because sometimes, words can't express it enough, or there are times when a kiss is all that makes sence."

:::she nods:::

When are the people involved supposed to do that? Is there a specific situation or perhaps a right time for it? Is there a que?

He lets out a brief sigh, "Its not all as simple as that. There are definately wrong times for it, but when it's right, sometimes you just know. Although some couples kiss at almost every opportunity. I'm not like that, especially in a public place. Some people don't like to see kissing in a public place, by the way. They just feel that sort of thing is private.I sit somewhere in between. Some kissing in public is ok, but nothing too over the top."

...why is affection kept secret? Are people not supposed to know the way one person feels about another? :::She looked up at him, and the position of his arm over her shoulder forced her neck to arch back and for the side of her head to lean against his shoulder:::

As he responded he continued to lightly caress the back of her hand with his thumb, "Its not that it's kept a secret, its just that some people get offended by seeing public displays of affection. Though, there are some cases where affection is kept a secret, but thats not important. Its...highly complicated, don't ask. As for keeping it a secret from the other person, well, sometimes the person that loves the other is too shy or embarrased to tell the other person, or they can never find the right moment, its all on a case by case basis." He took the hand opposite the arm craddling Cora and lightly cupped her cheek, "And you should know I hold a great deal of affection for you." He was not only using her terms, but wasn't ready to say those exact three little words. Hint at them, sure, say it....thats another story.

:::Cora found herself pressing her cheek into his hand as he cupped her face. She felt the corner of her lip draw into a little smile, but after a moment of thought she frowned a bit:::

I don't understand why it is so complicated, why there are so many rules...I feel, like I don't have a right to feel this way...I dont even understand what any of it means.

Tac shook his head slightly, "Cora, if everyone understood love then the world as I know it would be a VERY different place. You're not alone in that feeling. There are times when people beat themselves up, not literally though, over love. Love is complicated because we're human, and humans are complicated. Though sometimes, love doesn't have to be complicated, sometimes it just...flows." He caressed her cheek a bit as he leaned his forehead down against her head, a smile clearly evident just from being able to spend time with Cora, alone.

:::Cora felt her heart flutter when he came so close. She found herself not able to keep her eyes on him when his face was so close. She turned her eyes to her hands. She didn't know what was wrong with her. Wasn't it just a human face? Another part of the human body...eyes, nose, ...lips. Why was she shy now? As silly as she felt, she couldn't deny to herself that she enjoyed it:::

:::Cora and Tac would spend the rest of the night sitting up and talking, until of course they got tired dozed off in each others arms:::

Malazar stalks down the hallway preceeded by a dark glare. He's not angry at anyone in particular, everything that falls under his gaze is treated with equal scorn and disregard. He jams his key into the door of his room and flings it open once unlocked. The door bangs loudly against the wall next to it as Malazar brushes through. He jams the key into his back pocket and drops into the large arm chair in his weapon filled room. He falls asleep almost instantly, not bothering to close the door.

((Cora, Tac and I won't be back till around 10. If you are going to move around don't expect a response from either of us till around then. ^_^ Chow))

:::Cora awoke several hours later. She moved her kneck, which felt a little sore from being in one position for so long, when she opened her eyes, still heavy with sleep, she saw the rise and fall of Tacitus' chest.

She let out a breathe. She felt warm there, and she was so comfortalbe there in his arms. Her head found its way back to his shoulder, when suddenly her eyes opened. Thoughts of Luke and the attack brought her out of her sleepy state, and she decided to go check on him. As carefully as she could, she slid from under Tac's arm, as not to wake him. She looked back at him just once, to admire how peacefully he slept, and then proceded to the hallway to Luke's room:::

:::Cora opened the door slowly, and peered through, and saw that Luke was still sleeping, as she expected. She walked through and closed the door behind her quietly, then proceded to the edge of Luke's bed. He had moved himself in his sleep, but it didn't seem to interfere with the healing process. She picked up his left hand and began to gently feel through the stiffened material she applied how much of it had healed:::

*Luke reacts as though she'd held a hot poker to his hand.*

*His eyes open wide. He must have been in the middle of a nightmare, because he lets out a loud, rasping cry that sends a shiver up Cora's spine. Out of reflex, Luke bolts upright in bed. He writhes and jerks, immediately turns to Cora, ready to attack, despite his injuries.*
