Confused, willing to respect her new friend's request, Riven let the matter drop.

"I do not believe I have." she answered hesitantly, thinking. "I am sorry."

"So, are we starting over, or stopping?"

"Well, we don't really have anything better to do."
"So I guess we're in."
"Unless you want to play dice or cards or something."

"OK. So why do you have to exert control when offered a game of chance? Are you an addict or just obsessed?"

"I think so too, but you can never be sure. Which way are you headed?"

I look at you with a thought ful expression.
"Hmm... Yes, perhaps I could come with you. Sounds like fun."

stare "I wouldn't say that I distrust you 3nodding ...actually, no, I still don't trust you twisted . As to why, I have no reason to trust you. Kyte over there claim to be Dimitri's friend, but how am I to believe how true it really is? For Dimitri, just for Kyte to simply call him friend, he'll sacrifice himself for her. But would she do the same? When you live the life I did, when the three of us parted ways, I learned that trust is a luxury that most can't afford and that if you trust some you chances are good that you'll earn a knife in your back... stare " stare Ziggy, stares into space, but absentmindedly placed his hand under his fur pelts, resting on the base of his neck.

Whispering quickly before Ziggy wakes up, biggrin "Just so you know, Ziggy actually trust you guys a bit." biggrin

"It's true 3nodding . if he didn't trust you, first of all he would never had told you his real name. Second he let you call him Ziggy. The last guy that call him Ziggy turned out to be a convict and murder of 2 children stare . Last I saw of him was when Ziggy took him out to the woods to look for herbs. Never saw him since stare ."

biggrin "Of course me and Dimitri has been thinking quite a bit ever since we heard that they found a particially eaten corpse that had a mutilated face. We had our suspicions." biggrin

"But of course we knew it couldn't have been Ziggy, the three of us was only 8 years old at the time 4laugh ."

stare "What about us being 8 years old at the time?" stare

biggrin "Nothing." biggrin

stare " stare Well anyways, Kyte, I'm questioning you. I want to know, what scares you? And I'm not talking about little jolts and shock. I'm asking about phobias. What would leave you so scared that you would be curled up and hugging yourself rather that help your soon-to-be-dead allies?" stare

Suddenly a commotion can be heard out in the streets beyond the tavern's door. The sound of metal on metal rings out clearly, and then... silence. Somebody begins to open the door, but just then something lodges with a thunk! in the door. The tip of a blade of some sort protrudes through the door into the tavern. The door opens, and a man clad in dark brown leather armor falls through it onto back. He pushes himself into the tavern, whimpering, then pleads with his assailant. "Please! Don't kill me! I swear we were just doing as we were ordered!"

The sound of a fluttering cloak follows, and a black form pounces onto the fallen man. A hood covers his face, but the dagger in his hand, wickedly curved and with a large amethyst in its pommel, gives away the shadowy form's identity.

Velris the Blade holds his dagger up to the man's throat, his knees pinning the man to the ground. He growls to the man, his voice filled with contempt and dripping with violent intention, "Save you? This isn't the first time your pathetic guild has attempted to kill me! Each time, your boss sends a pair of simpering idiots like yourself. It's insulting to think your boss believes he can kill me with such low-life scum. I should kill you like I killed your friend... But, you'll have your uses. Go back to your boss and tell him he'd better find someone more worthy of fighting me... If he can't, I'm going to personally silence your guild and do this city a service."

Velris takes his blade and waves it in front of the man's terror-filled eyes, and then, his hand and dagger a blur, makes a cut across the man's brow. The man screams in pain, blood welling up and streaming down the side of his head. Velris gets up, still looking down at the man.

"Go on," Velris says, pulling a cloth out of a pocket in his cloak. "Get out of here. Your boss is waiting." He wipes the blood off his dagger, then sheathes the weapon. Then, he tosses the cloth down at the man, who still is writhing in agony. "Here, you'll need it more than me."

Velris yanks the throwing dagger out of the door then returns it to its sheath on his chest, alongside five other similar daggers. He draws his cloak tight around him, then walks towards his usual table, glancing at the gathering of the three elves and three brothers.

Uh......what just happened?

I think they just told us more than they meant to. And more than we wanted to know.

What?

I've heard that song before. I'm not sure how everything fits together, but I'm pretty sure it all fits somehow.

You're smart. You'll figure it out.

That's just it. I'm not sure I want to. Because it's very personal for our friends. And it may put us in a lot of danger.

We should leave then.

We'll leave and come back later. Maybe in a few minutes or a few days, but not until everything's quieted down. It's been very interesting here tonight.

Riven and Sunset get up and exit the bar, stopping just outside the door.

Kyte goes over to the brothers.

"Excuss me. I don't know what just happened, and I'm not sure I want to. But is there any way I can help?" she asked, looking conserned, worried for her friend.
