Owle Isohos Tiel moved Yuri's hands off her, then slowly lay down by herself. She listened to the second man's words, finding them interesting. Perhaps he was some sort of traveling philosopher...such a thing was not unheard of, though she'd never actually spoken to one. Her mother had told her stories about one she had met, long, long ago... "It's not healing...it's changing people." She thought about it for a minute, about why his words bothered her so much. "The only thing broken about me is the way my hands make things." *He takes Tiel's hands* Tiel, I think you need to think about the positive things. You are obviously deeply pained by yourself, and you need to rest your doubts. Would you like to tell anyone about how you hurt? How you pain? *At that time, he began to chant slightly, holding her hands, and feeling his energy flow through her. He sent a warm, earthy flow into her body, soothing her physical pains, healing her body to its greatest physical capacity. He stood there, chanting in a deep, soothing voice, hoping to ease her troubled soul*

She felt him still, but in the distance she saw something that could only be the Temple, hopefully the one of light and that was where she headed. The inn forgotten for now. Quickly she wove in and out of the crowds, the staff glowing slightly as she passed from person to person, trying to get closer to the temple but ending up hopelessly lost instead.
Shuffled as well, till she was all but lifted off the ground by the sheer mass of people and carried against her will with the crowd away from the temple and toward the market "Please let me go" her feet kicking helplessly under her feet. She could use magic to make them release her but it would only add to the choas and confusion so for the moment she just went with the flow of the crowd, hoping she could get down soon.

V13 Virus "I suppose people can change." Rigel smiled a bit, "But there has to be a balance doesn’t it?" He stopped with the pin between his thumb and forefinger. He was all about disrupting balance, the balance of life and death, the balance of families, the balance of human emotion... His own balance even. He really shouldn't be preaching about balance, but it was fun to evoke thoughts. "But wouldn’t it be dull if we could rid ourselves of all these demons haunting us," He pushed the pin back in to its hiding place, "The ones that keep us company?" It would be, with out pain there would be no pleasure. At least for Rigel. *Yuri turned, his face calm* The Balance is always there, sir. I am just a simple healer. I ease the suffering of the pained, but I know that there will always be more pain. And that is why I live. The demons inside us are always there, and they don't go away. But, if you want it bad enough, you can work to repress the pain they may represent, and feel whole. *He smiled to the man, though he wasn't sure he could see him.* We may be on opposite sides of the cycle, but I respect you all the more. You make my life worth living. But, I still do not know your name, and you certainly intrigue me enough to ask for it.

Lao followed again, toward the western section of the town, as far from the temple as possible. He would have laughed, if the situation were not so serious. All he wanted to do was to help, though she definitely seemed to be frightened by him. He didn't really know why, though he chalked it up to him being a stranger and all.
As she was carried away by the flow of people, he smiled. "Go along with the tide, huh?" The situation had gotten too out of hand for even him to handle- thus, he continued to follow her, just to see where she would end up. He hoped that she would not arrive in the bad part of West Laburnum, so he could get her to the temple without too much fuss.

As the room stopped spinning, Tiel shot Yuri an angry look through her dark eyes. Despite the goodness his energy was giving to her, his words were rubbing her the wrong way. Once the healing was complete, she pulled her hands away.
"I'm not deeply pained about anything! I just can't make a chair...that's all." She glanced to the ugly, wobbly chair in the corner with uneven legs. Her handiwork, and her best piece so far.

She continued with the flow disturbed by the mass of stranger who were more and more frequently appearing Gaijin, Tsai had told her to be careful of the Gaijin, that some where trying to start a war. Finally she managed to squirm free and dropped down to the ground, patting herself down and realizing she had everything she was supposed to but had no clue where she was going in the least.
She looked around at the rather suddenly empty streets. The staff lighting up at her command as she looked over her shoulder and tried to head back to where she thought the temple was. But before she had moved too far a large westerner came up behind her grabbing her staff and wrist in one movement.
She on the other hand took not a step out of stride, her movements fluid as she stepped back into the man's grasp, swooped low tilted her staff into his stomach, catching him off guard as she then used his own weight against him to flip him over her head and onto the ground flat on his back, her staff then at his throat. "I suggest you don't simply attack someone without purpose of knowing what you are getting into, it tends to make one foolish" Lifting the staff slightly before knocking him a lot harder than it would look from a distance and he was unconcious, she herself simply moved on towards the temple.

Lao looked after her closely, watching even as she finally released by the swarm of people. She looked around, trying to head back in the general direction of the temple. But before she could take but two steps, a gorilla of a man grabbed her staff and her free wrist. He was just about to jump in when he saw him get carried over her head and to the street in one swift counter. He was not surprised- it was a foolish attempt at a capture, seeing as she had a potential weapon on her.
As she knocked him unconcious and walked over towards the actual right direction this time, he nodded. She wouldn't need a guard or escort- which strengthened his question from earlier- "Why does Tsai accompany her? If she has his bokken, then he's not too far behind. But why is he here, and not at the school?"
It wieghed heavily on his mind as he continued to follow, just to make sure that she did not run into anything that she could not handle by herself.

She wasn't even breathing hard after the excercise tho it was the first time she had used it on a real opponent, her hair wasn't even out of place. She was rather disgusted with the whole place and was no longer sure that Tsai was right and this place was safe from whatever they were running from.
Tired and hungry, she gave up for the moment and went instead towards the river, finding a seat there out of the hustle and bustle of the crowds, kneeling down beside the river, her staff in front of her to meditate. If anyone came near her to steal the staff or otherwise it would be quite dangerous for them. So she was unconcerned and simply waited, hoping being near the water would help her concentrate somewhat.

From an alleyway, a few rouges could see her coming down the street- the one in the deep blue kimono. They did not know what it meant, but they knew that it was intricate enough to be worth something. Who knows- she could even be eastern royalty! As she stopped at the river, one of them casually walked out, telling the others to stay behind for the moment. He walked out from the alley and called out to her in a benevolent tone, speaking in her language-
"Looking for something, miss?"
Of course, he was only guessing.

She sighed softly, missing the temple very much. Apparently even here one could not mediatate in peace, brushing her kimono off, she lifted her staff and turned to look at the stranger. "No, I think I have found what I am looking for thank you" bowing slightly before turning off back towards the temple.
What was wrong with people, was it not obvious she wished to be left alone. Since when was it a crime to wish to not be bothered. Where was Tsai when she needed him, she was so alone she just wanted to go back to the Temple of Water, but he had said they were coming west and so here she was hoping he would catch up to her soon, tho she knew in his condition it would take a while.

The man smirked as she walked away. It was never that easy, was it? He walked back to the alley and nodded as he walked past- the signal for the other seven of his group to get to work. As they ran after her, he grinned, then turned to follow them. She was not going to leave without a proper Laburnum welcome... he guaranteed it.

She hadn't liked the look in the man's eyes, it looked all too much like that easterner she had given the reading to before this all started. She darted inbetween groups of people, using her small size to her advantage brushing past several people to get where she was going, finally once again seeing the Temple over the other buildings, hoping that was indeed the Temple of Light. Just a few more blocks.
However she also felt the presence of the men that seemed directed at her for some reason. What had she done to warrant such attention. Perhaps her clothing was too expensive, she didn't really have a good idea of value after all Tsai had bought her anything she needed that or the Temple. Finally she decided for the moment to just move closer to the river.

These rouges were quite skilled- they kept a good bead on her while weaving expertly through the crowd- dodging under a basket here, weaving through a mess of people there. And all the while, they took various trinkets and items from various people, all without alerting a single person. Thier hands slid soundlessly into pockets and baskets, taking gold and other trinkets that were in them. Keep or eat what's good, toss what wasn't.
She headed toward the river- this was it. Four of them picked up the pace and stopped in front of her, while the other three stood behind her. Each drew an 8" tanto, ready to do what was needed to either capture her for ransom, or take what she had on her, leaving her for dead. The eighth one, who seemed to be the leader, walked casually up to them and drew a 27" wakizashi, smiling as he did so.
"What, you won't accept my offer to help you? Fine. Looks like you'll have to pay for that."

She turned at the sight of the men, smiling benevolently at the leader as she moved the bokken from it's resting place into a slight angle in front of her, from her right foot to her left shoulder. This bokken was made of heartwood and was almost as tough as a sword itself. She was not worried in the least, not yet anyways. Her silvered eyes were calm as she spoke to the man, either she would die today or she would not but she would go down fighting. The staff she dropped to her feet, her left one rolling on top of it slightly, to call it to hand if she so needed to.
" So you fear a child, that you must seek your friends succor? Well then shall we play?" Bouncing only slightly on the balls of her feet as she waited for an attack, she would not provoke them but if they attacked her they would pay for it. The most she had ever played with before had been five but hopefully a concertrated effort would be hard to coordinate in the confines of the street.

A crowd had gathered to watch the potential fight, but none moved to assist her, seeing as they did not want to provoke them into cutting at them, though it would be a nice distraction. The seven theives circled around her, constantly moving and changing position. She did not have an obvious weak point- not yet, anyway. But they would find it.
The leader laughed somewhat, and awnsered her. "Afraid? You misunderstand," He said in a tone that mocked courtesy. "We just tend to do things together, that's all. It's sort of a family thing. Enough talk, though. Strike!"
From both sides, two of the rouges came at her, one aiming for her short ribs, his blade flashing in a horizontal arc. The other was moving to keep her busy, his fist streaking toward her left temple. The others simply stopped in their tracks, and waited for their chance to jump in.
