Kikue frowned, after getting Miller over to the mirror -- she saw his expression begin to crumple. She knew the signs; after her own changes, she hadn't even gone outside for days. It seems a silly way to live, but it was all that felt right anymore.
She wasn't sure what to say or do. She remembered wanting to be alone after her changes, and so she was quiet and stood behind him with a bowed head, her ears drooping against her head.
There was nothing to say, was there? She couldn't even bring herself to say, 'It'll be okay,' because she knew he wouldn't believe her, and that it wasn't going to be okay.
Nita had said so. Nothing was okay; it wouldn't ever be okay.
And she was silent.

Miller shook slightly as he cried, it wasn't so much a sob as it was a few sniffs a bit of weeping before he finally broke down crying more openly, he fell forward out of Kikue's hold leaning on the sink.
He was angry, upset, and over all sick. He wanted revenge on Sabin, he wanted to be normal, but there was nothing he could do. He was weak, almost completely crippled and crying in Kikue's bathroom like a failure.

Kikue put a paw over her muzzle, feeling her eyes start to burn. He was crying, crying his eyes out, and she had no idea what to do. It was bad enough to see a man do it -- her father had never showed emotion like this -- but beyond all of that, she was powerless. Nita was right. Nothing was going to be okay. Miller was crying because he was turning into a bird. And Kikue could only stand here, a paw over the muzzle that pushed out from her face, knowing it was only going to get worse, and she couldn't stop it. She herself had already changed beyond all recognition...
It seized as she watched him through the tears that were beginning to run down her face. She couldn't take this. Couldn't take it anymore. Not this, not anything. She didn't want to see Miller change anymore, she didn't want to change anymore, she didn't want to see Nita cry like she had on Halloween ever again --
Kikue cried aloud, sobbing, and she ran from the bathroom, grabbing the key to her door from the small table next to her bed. Her claws raked the wood, but she didn't care. She wrenched open her duplex door and jumped clear off the second-story landing, landing easily on her feet as if it were nothing. The grass was wet with dew; the air was already way too thick. I don't care...I don't care...I don't care...someone get me away from here... Father! Mother, can you hear me?!
She bounded into the jungle, crying, planning to let her feet never stop running.

Miller hardly noticed Kikue leaveing till her heard the sound of her claws bearing down on the door, he stayed slumped over the sink still crying, but it slowly died away leaving him alone in the silence that had fallen over the room.
He pushed him self slowly from the sink stumbling back to the main room, he looked around realizing he had nothing to wear, but it didn't matter, he looked hideous even if he was wearing clothes. He started towards the door noticeing the claws marks and felt another strange sensation as the feathers on his spine ruffled with hints of fear. He shoved the door open though, stumbleing through.
It took him almost another half an hour to get back to his duplex were he promptly locked the door and curled up in bed wanting to scream and finding he didn't have the heart to even utter a single curse.

A decent-sized geode half has been left by the door of your duplex. It appears to have been cleaned off very recently, and the crystals have distinct color even when not being held up to light. There is no note.
