It was the next day, and Mura had treated his wound back at home. It had coagulated, and he didnt limp any more, even though it still hurt when it rubbed his pants occasionally. He realized how close the gennin exams were, and he needed to finish training Henge and Kawarimi. He had seen enough people do them, he figured he knew how they worked.
Mura walked into the clearest spot there, and he performed the hand selas for Henge. He pulled in his chakra, and decided to turn into Ren.
"Henge no Jutsu!"

It didnt work, so Mura tried it again. "Henge no Jutsu!" he said, and failed again. "Damn leg..." Mura muttered, and then realized what he was doing wrong. He laughed, and took off his shirt. Mura began stretching, and doing flexibility excercises. After about a half hour, he finished. He looked out at the sky. It wasnt quite as sunny as the day before, so it probably wouldnt get as hot. Mura was relieved.

Maiko walked into the plateau, hoping for some time to train, maybe spar with someone close to her ability level. She saw there was someone else training there already. Maybe she could help him out; "Still counts as training!" she figured.
Meanwhile, she trained her aim with her katana. She pulled it out of her its sheath on her back, scratched a bullseye into the trunk of the only tree on the dry and barren plateau, and began thrashing her katana at it with all the force she could muster.

Maiko's aiming didn't turn out as on-target as she planned. She missed the bullseye each and every time. "What the hell is wrong with me today?" she asked herself. "My aim sucks royally." So, trying it again, and hoping it would work out better this time, Maiko tried it again.
"I better do it right this time... I'm just completely out of it!" she thought before sending her katana at the tree again.

"It was a little better that time, at least," Maiko thought angrily. She got closer to the bullseye that time, but she still didn't hit it head-on. "I'm not leaving here until I hit that god-forsaken bullseye!" she decided.
But when she thought about it again, she didn't know why she was getting so hard on herself about her close-range aiming. She knew she could do this; she just didn't have her coffee that day, and wasn't fully awake. "Ah, well, after this, I'll work on something a bit more important," she thought decisively.
And with that, she continued thrashing her katana at the tree.

She missed the tree completely. "This is just plain ridiculous," she thought. "This time..." she muttered, aiming for the tree once more.

"Close enough!" she said. "What the hell was wrong with me back there? My aim sucks today!
"Well, on to something more important!" she said to herself. "Time to train my ninjutsu!" And with that, she prepared for her Mikazuki no Mai katana technique, in which two clones attack a target from opposite sides simultaneously. Her target? Still the tree. Depending on how deep the marks went from the blow, she'd know just how good she was at the technique.
Clones now at the ready...

"And here comes the coup de grace!" Maiko thought, hoping her jutsu would work this time. The clones got closer to the tree, ready to leave marks on it, and then...

The tree almost got lifted out of its rooting. "Yes!" her two clones cried out simultaneously. "Finally!" Examining the damage done to the tree, Maiko saw that the trunk was split open, nearly about to fall over on itself. "Dude..." she found herself muttering. The trunk was barely supporting itself on the two-inch core the blow left behind. Dismissing her other clone, she figured that since the tree was likely to fall on someone and maim them, she should just knock it down now, to prevent any danger. Making sure no animals were in the way, she pushed the tree down, and exited the plateau to her apartment.

Mura looked up at the sky again. He began to relax all of his muscles, the way his mother had taught him how to. His body began to droop, and Mura closed his eyes. He slowly pulled in his chakra, meticulously, making the form of Ark in his mind. He steadily spoke the words "Henge no Jutsu" and failed yet AGAIN. Mura was seriously getting pissed. This time, he would just go for it. Screw concentration, screw perfection, screw subtlety. He needed to get this done, and NOW.
