Since his change Ian had only left his duplex at night to get food at the cafeteria. He hadn't wanted anyone to see him in his current condition. He had been learning to walk better with his new cane but he still had a horrible hobble and was grateful that he had something to lean on.
It was his first time out during the day and he hobbled towards the cafeteria, he wanted to pick up some books and see how people who inju8red their legs managed to learn to walk with a cane and if they missed being able to walk normally. Surely there were books on that subject in the entertainment room. But as he hobbled closer he saw a person, a girl by the looks of it. A fully human girl. He hoped he wouldn't have to be the one to tell her about the island, he hated doing that, and he would feel really bad considering how his changes were turning out.

Maybe I'll turn into somehting really sexy, I was thinking to myself. Somehting like a fox or a wolf. Everyone likes foxes and wolves, right? Suddenly I heard the sound of someone walking (more like limping) down the path towards me. Crap...I quickly hid all my sketches, not eager to have a random stranger see all my innermost thought down on paper. I looked up to see who it was and was startled to see a guy with a cane hobbling down the path, looking at me. He was covered in fur, and it looked like he had hooves. And ANTLERS!?! Standing up, I offered my hand. "Um...hi, I'm Ivy."

Great, she seemed nervous. When he got within touching distance he took her proferred hand and shook it quickly hoping she wouldn't flinch at the hoofiness.
"Ian" the deer responded. He saw her looking at his antlers. "I won't gore you if thats what you are worried about." That was probably the wrong thing to say, but Ian had a knack for saying the wrong thing.

I smiled. "Don't worry, I beleive you." My eyes wandered from his antlers to his cane. "So...now you have trouble walking?" I frowned. I couldn't imagine not being able to walk upright.

Well, she was blunt now wasn't she. Ian sighed. "Yes, one leg changed more than the other so I am stuck this way for at least a few more months." He didn't really want to talk about his changes, but he really hadn't wanted to talk to anyone at all. At least he wasn't walking right now and therefore didn't have to worry about his leg. "So what are you changing into?"

I looked down sadly. "I....have no idea. Nobody told me and I can't seem to get a hold of any of the doctors. From what I've heard, people start changing after a few weeks, which means I'll change soon." I sighed. "I just hope I'll still be able to draw."

Drawing. There seemed to be a lot of artists on the island. Perhaps that was the best way to get subjects. "Have you tried using the intercom?" Then they could easily reach somoene that knew. "If you do, ask for Aubrey, she's the nice one."

"Aubrey, huh?" I repeated. "Got it. How will she know? Dr. Duvert is the one who gave me the injection." I frowned, imagining all the doctors getting together around a table and chatting about their subjects. "And then, I turned her into a housefly!!! I shuddered.

Ian shrugged. "I think they all have access to the files. All are undo this one guy, Moreau anyway." Ian thought for a moment. "The three main doctors I hear of are Moreau, Duvert and Aubrey - Dr. Lockheart. I think all three know everything." If only Ian knew what Ivy had been thinking when she shuddered, but he was too polite to ask.

I nodded. "So they can look up information on the islanders." There was a long pause during which I wondered again what I would change into. "So...how long have you been here?" I asked gently.

That was a surprising question to him. "For awhile." he admitted. "Since September." Ian glanced towards the cafeteria reflecting on how used to the island he had become. "Such a long time ago." His voice had grown soft and almost sorrowful.

I patted him awkwardly on the shoulder. "I'm sorry...maybe one day we'll all get away from here!" Although I sounded more hopeful than I felt. I never was very good with the whole 'forever' concept...
I glanced down at my pictures. Maybe now would be a good time to leave. "Hey Ian, it's been real nice talking to you, but I think I need to get back to my duplex. I've got some stuff to do still before I go to bed. See you later, ok?" I hugged him tight, but at the same time trying not to make him lose his balance. Then I dashed off to my apartment.

New RP
A girl walked through the village from place to place, occasionally consulting a piece of paper before folding it up and slipping it back into the waist of her skirt. Determination stirred in her every step, and she was force to cross through the proper several times on her journeys back and forth. With her she carried a pair of books, and something wrapped up in cloth.

Kikue wore another spare yukata, her hands no longer full of the sheets and clothes she had brought to be washed and dried to the laundrey room in the village. Although she had claws on her feet, she knew she couldn't walk around barefoot safely yet. The long, sharp nails were noticeable from the sandals she wore.
Dusting off her hands on each other, she sighed, looking out into the main village. It had taken a lot of courage to step outside her duplex again, but she'd forced herself to do it. She could not stay locked up in her room and stay sane here. On top of that, she felt restless when stuck inside for a long time, and wanted to be out. After the transformation, her sheets and clothes definitely needed to be cleaned. And so today, she saw to that.
Standing calmly by her door, she noticed the girl pacing back and forth through the square. Kikue had never seen her before, but she looked changed already. Curious, Kikue leaned on her balcony and called out to get her attention : "Hello."
I wonder what she's doing? She looks serious about something.

Fiona heard the voice and took a moment to realise it was adressing her. Before she even turned around, several thoughts rushed through her mind. The first was that she was busy, and there were important things to be done, and that no time could be wasted talking to people. The second was that this was a new potiential ally, and she needed as many people on her side as she could get. In the split-second it took for this to run through her mind, she turned and looked at the girl who had adressed her, and a new, long unfelt emotion stirred into life. Jealousy.
This girl had begun to change, obviously, but she did so with unnerving grace. For what was hardly the first time, Fiona felt self-concious about her odd, squashed mouth and nose, her awkward feet, and the ugly hair randomly growing on her lanky limbs. This other girl was pretty: the snowy ends of her hair and the cute little ears seemed to suit her, and even the unnatural claws on her hands and feet were delicate and attractive- not like the hands Fiona was forced to call her own. In hardly a nanosecond the red-head had come to the conclusion that nothing in this life was fair, and that this person was most likely some stuck-up airhead who had never fought for something she believed in, or experienced true pain or loss. It was then that she responded with a simple, curt:
"What?"
