Actually, I've had a couple of incidents that could fall under this category. For example.
I went to NAU (Northern Arizona) and we'd perform at ASU games sometimes. If you stood too close to the "Red Zone" (hard core football fans) they'd yell and swear at you and throw stuff at you. During a Cardinals game (NFL now) I had some man ask if he could pour his beer down my keyhole (for non-guard types, it the hole in our uniforms where our cleavage hangs out. stupid uniform design but whatever ><) Needless to say, the NFL security that was escorting me through the crowd wasn't too pleased. ^^
During another ASU game, we were in formation in the "tunnels" (ramps onto the field, our band was split in two, one group in front another in back). I stuck out of the back of the formation and we had our grad students guarding us. Some guy marched up and grabbed my a**. My captain shoved me into the middle of the formation (yay bari saxes, making themselves look uber scary) and sicked a grad student on him. Pretty scary but the key is to ignore them. If they get no reaction from you, they'll leave you alone.

Last night was the biggest game of the year here. Some of the other teams people tried to run over us, while marching to the bleachers. Also, some of them were jumping out and scaring the s**t out of some of the memebers.

only at parades and football games. I hate it when old men come up and insist we smile for them. It's even worse when some fat lady on a lawnchair says 'what no music?!' I feel like beating her over the head with my flute and screaming "we've been marching in the burning sunlight covered completely in BLACK poleyester and playing music for lazy asses like you for 2 HOURS! get off your fat a** and see how much YOU want to play a crappy arrangement of 'celebration' for the FOURTEENTH time like a flippin FLEA BITTEN TRAINED MONKEY! scream " but of course I always just march right on by but someday, someday.... mad

Yea. People think band sucks, and whatnot, but it's they who suck, since they're missing out!
I hate it when it happens, but ehy never shout. Just try to taunt. That's it. No biggie.

Oh, this was hilarious. We were on the bus at a competition riding through the city of...Marion? I think...I don't remember. Well, anyways, I was looking out the window and this car drove up, and the driver leaned out of his window, the guys in the car leaned out and waved and yelled at me. I waved back, they were kinda cute!! It was so awesome!! Our band is so loved!!

Last year we were at a football game, and this group of kids (from the other team) kept yelling at us and telling us we suck. Then at third quarter (our free time for food) they threw hotdog buns and candy at some of our band members, a fight broke out.. Our assistant BD had to come over and break it up... other than that, we really don't get yelled at...

People always honk at us while we're practicing on the practice field, but that's about it.

Durza the Shade My marching band's practice field is in full view of two fairly major roads and an intersection. As people are driving by, we often have to put up with honking, shouts of "Band sucks!" and "Get a life!", and incoherant screaming. We were even mooned once last year. It's annoying, but we get at least two screamers, a shout and a honk every practice, so we learn to deal with it. I know from a friend in another local band that the same thing happens at their practices. Does this happen to anyone else? only my little sis and bro(both elementry basdtards)
