"Finding the purpose for these cards conveniently fits into my job description, so it'll be fun to tackle."
Larry pulled his hand away warmly, then scrunched his eyebrows into a ball of concentration, setting his easily-distracted mind to the problem of a meeting place. Larry wasn't much good with doing things according to set standards...he was more of a generalizing, take-it-as-it-comes kind of guy.
"How about the same place we met this morning? It's close enough to my house (although perhaps house wasn't the right term) to not be out of the way for me. ...Is that alright? Oh, and I suppose we need a time...when are you free? My work's kind of freelance, so I don't have to work around a schedule or anything."

"Yes, that does sound like a good idea. My home is.. relatively near there." The Doctor said, steepling his fingers infront of him and tapping the forefingers against his lip. "I shall certainly be free this evening, being retired I am generally free most of the time."
"It was a pleasure to meet you, no matter of the circumstances of our meeting," Severin said, the humor evident in his rasping voice.

"This evening's fine!"
Larry smiled sheepishly. "And sorry about the rock. Well, no, I take that back. I'm sorry about the rock hitting you, but really otherwise I would have spent the whole walk over talking to myself, and I must say I prefer having someone else do the job." He tacked on hurriedly, "...Anyway, you probably need to go."
He turned to head Southward, and shot the Doctor a small, open-handed wave. He had to get to this finding the Velvet Room business. The deadline was this afternoon, and he wasn't sure where to start...no. No, that wasn't right. He had a kind of a light-hearted whim where to start.
"Later!"

Esopha "Hello? You seem to have dropped this on your way out." Hikari ducked behind her sister at the sound of the stanger who had caught her off guard. When her heart beat seemed to refuse to calm down she peaked over her sisters shoulder to see what the source of her panic was. The teens face flushed when she saw it was another woman waving about an apple, claiming it was theirs. Was it really? Or was it some sort of ploy to get them when they werent on guard? "O-ours?" She asked meekly still hidding behind her sister "I-i'm sorry...I...we...didnt realize we had dropped it....T-t-thank you..." Though her eyes stared intently on the apple, the want to take it back into their home where it would be safe was strong. But yet- she refused to move.

Ayira gazed at him, as he seemed to babble a bit about desire and his heart, and something else foreign to her. “That’s any interesting thing to say in a place like this, but who knows maybe you will be on of the rare lucky ones that finds their hearts desire in this Hell.” She said brushing hair out of her eyes and acting like she didn’t wish for something just like he did. She was Ayira Moon, she desired nothing, and expected nothing from others or from her own life.
“Down this street actually, you can’t miss it.” She said looking up at him and smiling, “And I am sure I can find something to pay you with.” She added with a wink before holding in hands out for him to help her up.

Nekura smiled to Ayira before he knelt down and instead of taking her arms, he lifted her up into his arms. He carried her smoothly out of the abandoned building and down past the others towards the Red Rat. He was fairly quiet as they moved.
It wasn't long before he noticed it and he began to kneel down and set her down on her feet, "Would you prefer to walk or be carried into your business?" He asked her quietly.

Ayira gasped quietly as he lifted her up into his arms again, he really was a rarity in this city, and that was a good ting…maybe. As they neared her place neither of them really spoke, what was there to talk about after all, the weather? Ayira was not the type of girl for idol chit chat it was a waste of time and energy, two things she needed in life and didn’t have any to spare.
“Well there’s a new question…” she said with a laugh as she tested out her leg. It stung a little but for the most part she could deal with the pain, she had received worse in her life. “I think I can manage to walk My Knight.” She said teasing him again. Looking up at her place she smiled softly,"Nice huh?" she said, not really expecting him to answer. It was a tall place with many windows and loud lively music coming from inside, it was one of the nicer looking places in this district, not that any of them were really nice to look at.
Ayira glanced back at her hero and smiled a sly devilish grin before grabbing his hand and leading over to the front door. “Well no use just staring at it, lets go in.”

Grondax With that Grondax quickly looked under the man’s arm, and was surprised at what he saw. "Well clearly this is the jackpot." Grondax made a point to keep his voice low and amused, "not only are you keeping fugitives, one of them looking very interesting, but ohh I believe they are, are those real swords. You should be careful little boy. Knowing you, you would stab your eye out. So will you introduce me? All this talk of a fountain has me thirsty."
When Feyd opened the door and revealed a man standing on the other side, Adlei tensed visibly. She squeezed Elliot's hand as she listened to the quietly threatening words of the intruder. Elliot's hand immediately went to his hair, realizing that the cloak that usually shadowed his face had been removed.
Feyd had earned their trust, but this new visitor did not seem to have the best intentions. Peace Enforcement would be on them like hungry dogs if they didn't continue moving.
As Elliot turned to Adlei for instruction, the girl slowly shifted her eyes towards a window that peaked from behind some storage boxes. He gave a short nod to confirm her idea.
Gripping Adlei's hand tightly, Elliot suddenly jumped to his feet, pulling the girl up with him as though she were nothing more than a ragdoll. Bringing her to his chest, his eyes flared white for a moment, and he threw his fist towards the wall, sending a stroke of power that caused the glass to ripple, then shatter. Just as the waves of power were settling, he pulled them through the window, tunneling through various storage items and sending splinters off of some boxes.
Within the next minute, the boy was once again racing across the rooftops, pulling the hood of his cloak securely over his face. "We'll find somewhere safe this time--somewhere without other people."
As she watched the city scenery passing below them, Adlei said to her companion, "Elliot, we need to go back later, after you've rested. We need to make certain that that actor is not harmed."

"Well, alright then." He said quietly and laughed as he was called her knight again. He wasn't a knight, yet it amused him that such simple kindness made him some sort of hero.
He smiled faintly at Ayira as she took his hand as he began to follow her into the Red Rat, "...Nicer than The Pinch...Different kinds of stuff...I like it...glad it's near me...it'll be nice to come here every once in awhile..."

“You better believe it is nicer than The Pinch.” She said with a laugh, but then a look at him to show she was being serious. With that said she lead the Doctor to a table near the front of the stage, “Enjoy the show while I get you something to eat and drink love.” She whispered in his ear seductively.
Disappearing into the crowd, as she walked you could hear both men and women yelling out her name, with complements attached. A couple of moments later she appeared at his side with a tanker of ale, “Someone will bring your food by, I have to go on soon but I can sit with you for a while if it would make you happy.” She said twirling his hair in her fingers; now that she was back in her element she was starting to act like the fake Ayira. “You should think of living here instead we to have rooms people live in.”

He looked up at her and gave Ayira an odd look as he took a sip of his ale, "I am happy with where I have chosen to live. Ayira." he stated to her. His tone on her name had a bit of emphasis, as if he had noticed her sudden change.
"I think I will have my meal and be on my way, and you have a large customer base that wants your...attentions..." he stated. Apparently he figured her out rather quickly, or so it appeared.
His free hand moved to caress something that was hidden beneath his coat. Only he was aware of what it was, and that, was a half-mask. A mask that was only in blacks and whites.

With the tone of his voice Ayira realized what she was doing and took her hand away from him, “Look Doc I am really sorry I am just so use to men only wanting one thing…” she said shaking her head. “And the idea of you living here wasn’t suppose to be a come on, you would get a lot of business here, a lot of people come in here messed up and we patch them up a best we can…but we aren’t Doctors like you.”
“And I am not that popular, I suppose I am just like because I am the owner, I rarely sleep with the customers, my girls prefer to do that.” She added knowing it sounded bad but it was the truth. “I would rather sit and talk with you but if you wish to flee from me so quickly I understand.” She stated a glimmer of what might be pain in her eyes.
Ayira took a breath and was about to say something it seemed, but right then a young busty blond walked up with a plate of beef and potatoes for Neruka. Looking him over the blond leaned down and whispered in his ear, “Boss don’t sleep with the men that come in here, but for a pretty one like you I will be more than happy to fill in.” As she stood up she caught the look in Ayira’s eye.
“That will do Bunny.” She said saying her name in a mocking way, “The Doctor is fine.” With that Bunny hurried off, not wishing to anger Ayira and get herself kicked out. “Sorry, Knight.” Ayira said with a laugh as she shook her head.

"It is quite alright...I wouldn't mind, so long as I was allowed to tend to people beyond just those that are injured here...as well as having my own external access so I do not directly disrupt your business with my patients." He said to her quietly. He then gave a chuckle at Bunny and inclined his head, "Sorry, I wasn't interested in more beyond food and conversation miss."
He then turned his attention back to Ayira, "Well...I would actually rather sit and talk, get to know the city better than I do now..." he stated to her with a warm smile.

“Of course Doctor.” She said laughing at the thought that he would only be allowed to tend to her customers. “And if you wish for your own entrance, you can live in the building connected to this one, it is my home. It isn’t huge but you could make the downstairs into a office I suppose and sleep upstairs…in your own room.” She said twirling her own hair now. “I wouldn’t expect you to sleep in the same bed as me.” She added with another laugh.
“Also you would be safe from My Girls…they see a pretty face like yours and know your sleeping in the same building…you’ll end up tied to your bed. The building next door has a lock so I can have time away from all of this…not that I would want it right.” She said with a wink to show she was playing. She frequently needed time away from this place, and she work long and hard to get both buildings, so it spoke much that she was willing to allow Nekura to use one…but she was in his debt, and he was nice to talk to, knowing he wanted nothing more from her.
“Not much to say, you’ll get a lot of business with the people in this town, there is always something wrong with someone here. But don’t expect money, trade is what mainly works here, that and favors.” She added, “But we only take money at The Red Rat…unless your important enough for me to want a favor from.” She rambled as she gazed around the room to see who was here. “See those men over there?” she said pointing to a table with three men dressed in uniforms, “There known as Peace Enforcers here, I let them in because it pays to not ruffle their feathers, but if I had my way…” she said trailing off, but her eyes showed the harm she wished to do them. “But that’s a whole other story.” She quickly added shaking her head from those dark thoughts.

Yami felt her sister's grip tighten on her shoulders and run across to her spine, a reaction that only she knew well. Conversation was difficult, and Yami never fully put her full trust into talking to someone unless a good conversation perked up and she could observe them closely and accurately. Though, the apple itself was suspicious...was that in their supply list? She couldn't remember, it might have been part of Hikari's, seeing how she thanked her, despite the timidness attached to her voice.
"I thank you" Yami finally said to her, as she started to approach...cautiously. She'd rather not, to put it precise, she wanted to give as much room between her and the girl as to make a break for it with her sister while she still could. Though, the thought that hit her hard was she had to admit: It would be quite rude to leave a crippled girl to walk such a distance to give and apple, even if it was considered to another close enough. "Cmon Hikari...it's rude to let her walk with that cane..." Yami comforted her sister as she started her steps. She anticipated that her sister might refuse a bit...but what happens is what happens. Yami would just see for herself what her sister would do.
