well, i didn't make captain. i also don't quite agree with one of the people the directors chose to lead, but that's fine. it takes a lot of pressure off of me.

DevilsDarkAngel lol well for us is basically anyone who shows up and comes to the tryouts are basically in. true except this time at our tryout, only one girl didn't make it. It was an 8th grader so I have no idea who.

i think everyone is going to make it too, well except for one girl.....shes showed up to almost all practices to learn the routine and STILL cant do half of what everyone else can do sad

Man Our instructor told us that we might be getting 20 incoming freshman and if we do thats a total of like 30 or so people and supposedly there is going to be one captian! uurrgghhh and 3 people and I tried out for leadership for guard and i messed up at try outs so i might not be capt anymore :tear:

there are a lot of 8th grade girls trying out this year......and theyre all asian.
one of them came up to me and asked "are there always this many asians trying out?" i looked like o__________o no?

I'm a guard graduate now and looking at all this tryout chat is making me a little weepy crying . Good Luck to you all! and i must admit that at my high school, the instructor didn't pick the leaders I thought she should have either but oh well. I hope to go independent this winter season though. Are any of you planning on joining an independent guard this year? or know of a good drum corps?

Haha, our Colorguard doesn't have tryouts, we have such a tiny squad. We're always looking for more people.
But I just joined colorguard during indoor season. And (wow I sound like a newbie) it's tons of fun!!!1 biggrin
But I'm going do colorguard instead of marching next marching season... even if my BD get's upset... since apparently I'm one of the best flute players?

im still on our team but im a little pissed off at our BD, guard sponsor, and the other BD cuz they only chose 2 captains instead of the usual 3 crying i was so sure that whitney, taina, AND diana would make it but only whit and taina are captains for next season sad
