Rachel turns to look at John, "What was that? You want me to give you fifty lashes when we board the ship?" She pauses, "I'll gladly do that, but to be nice I'll make it one hundred!" She looks at the rest of the crew. 'Hopefully that will shut them all up and show them not to anger me.' She was tired of the mouthy little ships boys, and whipping a few of them back on the ship would be a great way to let out some anger.
Gabriel stares at the golden coins around the altar, with that many coins he wondered what he could buy when they made it back to Divvytown. Too bad they probably wont get to keep all those coins. Hearing Rachel yell about lashes scared the boy into staying quiet and keeping his distance from Rachel. He didn't want to feel a whip cracking on his back!

John snorted " Armies march on thier stomachs and ships sail on them unless you want to cook for all one hundred and sixty odd crew plus keep trackf food stores and figure out how to accomadate the captains tastes on next to nothing I suggest you accept my grumblings for the time being." Normally John wouldn't have dared to have spoken like that but he was too tired today assuming it was even still the same day.
once aboard the dementia he'd probably slip bakc into obscurity and avoid the master at arms for a while but for now he was making a stand, he was young and just a ships boy yes but he considerd it time someone started givign him respect even for a short while.

Arrin's eyes grew wide as the door opened to reveal the altar room. "Wow..." she whispered. As John stepped forward to claim his prize, she slowly came back to herself. I don't really feel like I did anything...John's the one who answered the riddles she thought. But the rest of the crew seemed to be expecting her to take one of the orbs. Hesitantly, she stepped forward and took the blue orb. Blue...like the ocean. Water is a good ally for a pirate, or any sailor really. For the first time Arrin noticed the gold coins surrounding the altar. I wonder what we'll be doing with those?

As John stepped forward to claim his prize, he did not realise that he was also claiming to complete and utter hatred of the only elf upon his ship. This same elf had made it minutes after Arrin and John and had put a great effort into solving all of their riddles. The riddles had brought back a great deal of memories and Nicolas had intended to make his trip to the island worth while. With only a flea ridden monkey to show for it, he was a bit less than plased.
Sapphire eyes narrowed on the pirate male before him. Lifting his form off of his beautiful lady partner, he quickly dusted himself off and folded his arms, "Impressive treasure, eh?" He spoke, his tone holding a great nenom to it. The man was not impressed at all and would take 100 lashings to speak his mind at the moment. Where was the great amount of treasure? Where were the heaps of gold for the taking?
Turning back to look about the other members of the crew, a threatening stare was passed about. It was an expression the man had never worn before, one that had come from years of being beaten upon and tormented from his life as an elf. It would not come to a surprise if the man grew to become a ruthless pirate. He did not seem to wish to stop at anything. He only hoped that Rachel would say something now. He almost dared her.
A sturdy hand held tight to the handle of his prized blade.

The weight atop of her was lifted as Nicolas stood. Jamie's sky blue eyes had narrowed on John and Arrin. They had beaten them? A burning hate bore into the young woman's heart as she sat up, watching as the two stepped up to claim their prizes. Her firey gaze followed the two pirates to their destination, where their treasure rested. Several orbs floated above an alter surrounded by coins. Slowly Jamie rose, brushing her skirt off as she settled herslef into a standing position near Nicolas. Her hands rested on her hips as she leaned slightly more onto one hip.
" Looks more like a treasure the digusting monkies would enjoy.." Jamie grumbled to Nicolas. She could see the little creatures darting about with the orbs in their mouth, while chewing and soaking them in slober. Her braid fell over her shoulder and over her chest as she gave a forced sigh. The woman was more than annoyed that it was another pair of the crew that had gotten through the doors first. She had almost been certain it would have been she and the elf. They had managed to answer their riddles using what they had learned in the past. Too bad it wasn't enough to help them along the way quick enough.
Still she glared att eh orbs, wishing her own hands were wrapped around one of them. Though, instead she remained where she was, acting as though she would rather have not been in front of the alter. The gypsy gone pirate brought her hands together then to crack her knuckles, while then proceeding to spin the ring on her finger about as she waited for the winning pirate pair to finish up claiming she and Nicolas' prizes. Her usual seductive facial expressions had turned to a stone cold blood hungry stare.

Congratulations! As John reaches for the golden light, it glows brightly for a moment then vanishes, leaving behind Hermes Boots. They are finely made of brown leather with strange golden designs embossed onto the edges. They are incredibly lightweight and give the wearer increased speed and agility. +2 to any positive dice roll. Arrin's orb does the same, leaving the Siren's Seashell in her hands. When the shell is worn around the neck it grants the wearer the ability to breathe underwater, when worn anywhere else it gives an amazing singing voice. The remaining lights merge together, shining brilliantly before revealing a familiar golden pendant, suspended above the altar. Specialty items will be added to your cert when you next get promoted. Until then, you will be provided with an image of the item seperate from your pirate. ALL other pirates may gather as many coins as they can pick up, totalling the equivalent of 13 doubloons each.

Katherine eyed the irritable pirates in the room. Bickering like children, they were ignoring the prize right in front of them. If she had been paying attention to their arguments she might've been concerned about the amount of ill will towards an officer, but as it was the Captain was far more interested in the shining coins scattered around the stone altar.
Ignoring the weird floating pendant, as she was never trusting of magic, Katherine stepped forward and scooped up a hefty armful of coins. She cursed briefly the lack of coat and pockets, then set about finding convenient carrying places in what clothing she did have. Looking up from wedging a coin into a particularly odd place, she met the stares of her crew.
"Well? What are you waiting for? I'm sure whatever gods own this temple won't mind donating to the poor and unfortunate."

Rachel looks at the floating pendant, "Impossible..." She pasues, "I put it into the door, there is no way it can be back..." She walks forward and grabs the pendant. The markings were the same, but there was no way that pendant should have been able to go from the door, to the altar especially like it did. She put it around her neck and smiles for once since they got into this room.
The pendant started to glow when put around her neck, Rachel winced in pain. The pendant quickly stopped glowing, her wrist no longer hurt. She moved her right hand a bit, there was no pain, the pendant somehow healed it? Or is she just so happy to have that pendant back that she isn't noticing the blinding pain?
Gabriel scurries over to the golden coins, he sends his little monkey to grab as many as possible. He grabs twenty-six in all, he then walks over to Rachel and hands her thirteen of them, "For you," Gabriel smiles then walks back towards the doors to the three paths.
The monkey hops onto his head and chitters for a moment. "Now what am I going to buy with these when we get back to Divvytown?" He looks up but can't see the monkey. "Well, I will find out what I can get when we get back," He smiles, putting the doubloons away so they can't be stolen by one of the other pirates.

Though somewhat wary of the obviously magical objects John swiftly swaps his sandals for the boots. Taking a few steps around he found them easy to walk in and rather pleasent to wear. Reigning in the desire to show his please he simply walked over to Arrin and grinned " Looks like everyone came out of this pretty well off," he frowned a bit " I'm really sorry I left you back there I was just hoping to get out of here."

When she had finally secured all the gold she could safely carry, Katherine bent down to collect some more. When she had enough that some would surely fall and be lost on the trip back through the jungle, she finally straightened up and headed back towards the mouth of the central tunnel.
"That's it for us lads, time to go. Get as much gold as you can, and follow me back to the ship. I want to be off this rock by nightfall!"
With that she strode down the tunnel at a fast clip, shedding excess coins as she went.

Rachel took the coins from Gabriel, less work for her to grab coins. She followed the Captain, almost laughing at the trail of coins being dropped by Katherine. She needed to get off this island soon. If she stayed much longer she would probably burst into tears with all the memories of her home.
She plays with her pendant as she follows Katherine. Something in that pendant was different but she couldn't put her finger on it. How could it have healed her broken wrist? How could it have gone from the door then re-appear at the alter from the two orbs of light left over? So many questions and no answers...
Gabriel smiles, and hurries after Katherine. It was a good idea to leave now, Nobody wanted to get killed by the Islanders for taking the golden coins now did they? He tried to stay close to Katherine and Rachel, if all else fails they would protect him, right?

When they reached the outer doors, Katherine took a deep breath, clean air filling her lungs with a sigh of relief. She wasn't afraid of small spaces, but she wasn't overly fond of dusty air either. The Captain stepped out into the jungle, squinting in the late afternoon sun. They had been inside the ancient temple for much longer than seemed possible, throwing off Katherine's tenuous grasp on time even more than usual.
Recalling her desire to be off the island before night, Katherine ignored the trail that led to the village and started off on what she was sure would prove to be a short cut. She really wasn't keen on having to put up with the native's babble again, and Katherine had never known anyone to be glad at the sight of her with arms full of their gold.

Rachel walks out of the now open front door, to see a collapsed Elder. Since they had a bunch of gold from the temple, it was best not to wake him and just get back to the ship before he wakes up. The fresh air was a well missed thing. The air felt amazingly refeshing, around her body and in her lungs.
She follows the Captain as she tried to avoid the Island Village. The thought of getting back to the ship, and back to Divvytown was pleasent. A large glass of Divvytown Rum was needed, forgetting that they stocked up on Divvytown Rum on their last stop there.
Gabriel hops out of the Temple, "Thank God that's over!" He walks in the direction that Katherine and Rachel were going, remembering that the ship was pretty far from where they were, the thought of walking there was annoying. The monkey chittered and started hopping on his head.
"Stop it," he says to the monkey, though it didn't listen too well. He picked the monkey off his head and held it in his arms, "Try not to cause any trouble." He walks past a bush with some bright blue berries, picking a few as he goes by. He smiles to the monkey and feeds it one of the blue berries.

Nicolas had gotten over his bitterness with John long enough to gather as many gold pieces as he could carry. Stuffing them into his boots for the time being, he turned and quickly began out of the temple, hand clasped tightly around Jamie's to ensure she did not get too left behind. He had heard awful stories of temples being robbed and closing in and those who tried to steal whatever they could put their hands on. Mr. Morgan was not to inclined to have his beautiful lady be left in an awful smelling prison for all of eternity.
As he brought the two of them out, he looked back and offered a dashing grin, "How are you coping lass? Grab enough gold coins back there? I may have one or two to spare if I took you away too soon.." His words were so strange to come from his mouth. It seemed the jangling of his boots was amusing him more than one would think. Soon enough, he hoped he might be able to afford a ship of his own. If he was it could keep him from having to get his hands messy in order to become a captain.
