Both Kinoru and Kao's ears twitched as the squirrels ran by. Kao began to move like he was going to chase asfter them, until Kinoru made a slight growling sound. Kinoru looked ahed a little and sniffed the air. There was something about it that gave him the chills, but he wasn't sure what, Kao began to sniff around aswell.

*Shunketsu paid the squirrel no mind...he had a small connection with the critters in the immediate vicinity around the academy...having spent so much time here...Shunketsu lead the group...*
*Maiko was carrying all the luggage for the princess and herself on her back...although she seemed like just a slut and despite her slender arms, she was actually quite powerful...a worthy friend and bodyguard to Kohana...Maiko was 2nd in the line...*
*Kohana walked 3rd in the group...being in the middle as to provide her with the most protection...she then turned her head to the team*
Kohana: Edge-san, Kaida-san, Kinoru-san...all three of you seem to be quietly fighting as to who takes care of the very rear...it seems you 3 have developed quite a gap between myself and you...hmm...let's see...I have an idea! It seems Kinoru has a great sense of smell...and Edge seems very observant...Kaida as well...being that we don't have eyes in the back of our heads...how about...Edge...you walk on my left...Kaida on my right...and Kinoru, your sense of smell can safegaurd my back...okie?
*she gave a warm smile after her comment...she was actually quite observant and smart...((what did you expect from the best education Pocky Country could afford?))...She then looked straight ahead and her warm smile disappeared...she actually seemed quite worried...but she was trying her best not to show it...*

Kinoru knodded and walked in the back, he gave a slight signal to Kao and he ran off the kinoru's right into the woods. Kinoru's ears were still twitching from time to time and he sniffed around slightly once every 30 seconds.

Kaida moved forward picking up her pace to step in line with the princess. She stayed to the princess's right and glanced about still looking out for trouble. She kept the slight smile on her face only because it kept others out of her thoughts, keeping them from reading her like a book. "Kinoru..." Kaida muttered just loud enough to let him hear. "Keep Kao away from the squirrels.. they are friendly around here.. like.. miniwatch dogs of the forest... they are a good indicator of danger..."

Kinoru didn't speak, but he's eye's seemed to tell that Kao wasn't off chasing squirrels. Kinoru smirked slightly. It wasn't a bad idea to be honest, he had Kao run off to scout the surounding area, then to scout out ahead of them, he'd howl if he found anything.

*they would soon reach a ferry which would take them part of the way to the distant Pocky Country...after a while, Shunketsu returns to the group, with travel fare already taken care of*
Shunketsu: well, everyone aboard...
*Kohana seemed reluctant to get on the boat...*
Kohana: umm...Shunketsu-san...is there no way around the river? I..umm...do not like boats...
Shunketsu: well, if it were any other river, we could take a route around or over it at certain points, but this one goes on deep and fast for miles...so...no...
*Maiko also seemed reluctant but eventually got on the boat...Kohana followed...but there was a small look of dread in her eyes...but being as she didn't seem disoriented when she was on the boat...the boat was not what she was really scared about...*
Shunketsu: ok you 3, get on...
*Shunketsu got on the boat himself*

Kinoru gave a sharp whistle. Kao soon came bareling out of the woods and stopped once he reached kinoru. Both Kinrou and Kao walked onto the boat and stood near the edge peering into the water.

Kaida moved silently walking besides Maiko and when she was reluctant to get on she stood beside her like a girly smaller version of a bodyguard. She nodded to her sensei and boarded the boat keeping near Maiko at all times unless otherwise instructed.

Following the others on to the ferry Edge took note of the layout as soon as possible and made his way to the others. He was happy that so far it hadn't gone too bad. There had been no trouble yet however in terms of travelling now he knew that they may be vunerable to attack even on a ferry. Better to be safe than sorry he kept his hearing skills up just incase while keeping a happy appearance infront of the people they were safe guarding.

*the port for the ferry was actually a few hours down the river...and as they traveled...the hours passed by without incident...the princess seemed rather relieved that nothing had happened so far...*
*about 3/4 of the way to the other port, everything seemed quiet...all too quiet for the time of day it was...which was about an hour or two before sunset...*
Kohana: Shunketsu-san...I really don't like what's happening...
Shunketsu: don't worry Kohana-hime, I'm sur...
*he wouldn't be able to finish...a rope would shoot out of the water, wrap around him, pull him over the side of the boat, and under the water...*
*some nin would jump out of the water and land on the large boat...1 made a dash for the Princess...Maiko, caught surprised, would not be able to get to the princess in time, being just a normal person and all...*

(ooc: wow i need to be more awake when i post.. i should have said kohana not maiko.. oh well.. i was making sure she wasn't getting more drunk ^_^)
Kaida who had been standing by Maiko moved and with a sudden burst of energy stood between the nin and the princess her attacker. She had her tonfas now and was ready to strike and ready to defend. "Kohana get back with Maiko and the others... KINORU!!! EDGE!!!" Kaida stepped forward and made a swing at the attacking nin.

Kinoru moved fast, the rope had narrowly missed him while he had been looking over the edge of the boat. Kinoru gave a quick signal to kao before charging at the nin and kunai in his hand. After his signal Kao jumped in the water after Shunketsu. When Kao got to Shunketsu he started to pull him back to the surface while chewing on the rope slightly.

*a rope would grab Kao as Kao attempted to help Shunketsu, it dragged Kao back to the surface and slammed the wolf on the deck of the boat...the same nin then jumped in front of Kinoru and blocked Kinoru's kunai with...a...pair of chopsticks...*
*the nin dashing for the princess then took out a pair of chopsticks of his own and lunged forth at Kaida...*
*Shunketsu had someone got free from the rope and appeared at the surface of the water to get some air...he was then pulled under again...*
*on the nin's headband was the symbol of a bowl with a pair of chopsticks on top...the chopsticks seemed to be holding...ramen??*

Kaida stayed clear of his chopsticks knowing that they could be used as weapons as well, but she struck her target hard using her tonfa's. Smacking him in the face with her weapon she then brought the other down on his hand hoping to get him to drop the chopsticks. "Ramen Country nin? Enemies of the Pocky Country?"

Kinoru ran to Kao. Kao got up, he seemed to be fine, just a little suprised. He barked once, Kinoru knodded and began to preform some seals "Beastman clone" He said with the finall seal, as Kao barked "Arf,bark, arf *Manbeast clone*" Both Kinoru and Kao charged the ninja using the 4 Legs Technoque
