Stealth baby Orange Galaxy had moved out from behind its ostentatious sibling - behind yet another egg. Still concealed, the infant laid down flat. Meanwhile, the Rose Egg tipped and tottered over, until a little green dragonet spilled free from its shell. Oh! Oh my! Hello! she said softly, brightly.
Toddling daintily over to her bronze brother, Rose gave a creel, reaching out tentatively to place a paw upon his shining hide. He was ever so handsome and powerful! Surely he knew that, and knew that the Candidates also knew that! Nuzzling fully against his side, she tried to cheep her appreciation for him.

Another shake, another wobble, and Orange Leopard Spot Egg finally cracked. Out of the shell, rolling head-over-heels, the little green gave a surprised cheep. Still, it didn't take long for her pull herself up -- but instead of turning to the Candidates, the little green hurried over to Khamaith.
Eyes whirling purple with love, the little green risked rebuke and tried hard to burrow into her mother. She sent equal amounts of fondness to Baihath and Turoth, crooning happily all the while.
This was exactly where she wanted to be.
- - - -
Pink Striped Green was absolutely having the time of her life. Her little legs were moving fast as she weaved in and out of the Candidates. If her little wagging tail happened to smack Lelte as she passed, she meant no harm. She had a one-track mind and wanted to do one thing and one thing alone: Play. Play? Play!! With a happy pounce, she jumped right on Dextelia, giving the girl a happy squawk and a quick nuzzle. Though her claws might well have dug into her, breaking open some skin, the wounds weren't intentionally deep. Launching off her (ow), the little green was quick to bolt the other way.
She looked behind her, and didn't pay a lick of attention, instead, colliding smack into Loctius. Her wings flared in surprise, finding herself in quite a tangle with the lad.
Whoops! Flap, flap, flap...
dawns_aura Little dragon tail smack.
BastetAmun Little dragon pouncing and launching, whoops.
Spockat A little more damage but nothing that should be fatal. Just some scratching and bruising.
Gold Stripe Egg tipped with alertness--though the motion wasn't quite enough for the egg to shatter. Wait... Wait a minute.... Hey now....!!!

Etansi
Blues and greens and browns and bronzes and a mystery. While the teenager was curious about the little green who'd just hatched and her interest in the bronze that had been grandstanding, she was also interested in the mystery of the dragon that was trying to hide. Where was it trying to get to?
Or was it just a little too shy?
She glanced at those around her and then back where it had disappeared. Why're you hiding? Etansi tried to ask even though she figured she might not get a response. Do you have a plan?
She got distracted for a moment when a little green went about running to her parents and another to playing with some candidates. Khamaith had to be half glowing from happy right now, she knew that but it was so good to see.

Papys
Papys was the oblivious fool, as always, unable to see that there was a sneaky baby on the loose - which made it easier to focus on the two new greens that were on the prowl. One headed off to check on one of her bronze brothers, the other went barreling off into her parents.
How darling!
But another green was making her way through the candidates with all the energy a newborn should have had! At least... a newborn dragon should!
------
Matotoka
Oh! There-
Matotoka seemed to stand a little straighter when the Leopard Spotted egg hatched, looking on hopefully and - Oh! She was a green! But she paid no mind to any of the candidates. No, she ran off to her parents.
He couldn't help but feel the smallest pang of jealousy, despite the stream of support he was getting from another dragon. But he'd not pressure. No, he could wait. Maybe....maybe she'd want to see him.
It felt like Matotoka was hoping for a lot.
------
Kadosse
Oh! All the little ones were getting so active - a pair of greens and the Gold Stripe Egg was still a wiggling. She couldn't help but watch on excitedly. Oh, little one. She wanted to dance with you - even if she wasn't much of a dancer!

Sivu - [He/Him] - Western Weyr Oh poor shy thing! There was another little baby on the sand out there somewhere, sneaking their way along. Oh he knew that horror. Hiding from unwanted attention and a little bit of quiet. You take your time, he thought gently. “Maybe they weren’t ready just yet,” he murmured to the little group around him. He watched as the green ran to their mother. Poor little dear, theyd find comfort in spades he was sure. He stood up on his toes for a bit of a better look at the precious sight.
Loctius - [He/Him] - Western Weyr Loctius held his breath a moment, watching the little green go towards her bronze brother. Hopefully they didn’t mind too much… the green seemed a little apologetic. A little friendliness never hurt anyway (hopefully). - Oh, OH.
Goodness! What a tangled mess! It happened too quickly for him to really get his bearings. He found himself eating sand and getting pushed around by a little dragon trying to right themself. Her claws had thankfully done no more than a full dull scratches and a couple of scuffs from the sand. He spit a mouth full of sand out with a grimace. “Hey now little one,” he said gently as he made sense of the tangle of wings, limbs, and ground he somehow managed to right himself. “No harm no foul right?”

Rian - she/her - HR
Now that she had left Aelyx in the healers' hands, Rian had found a place that was spaced out far enough from others to give her a good view of the eggs and the hatchlings. It was, perhaps, a little lonely --- she like being around people, and she would love to talk with someone about all of the wonderful babies that were making their way around the sands (or... not doing so, if that was what they preferred), but it did at least mean she wasn't missing much of what happened.
And how could she miss any of this? All of the eggs she had gotten to touch had hatched, now, though she still couldn't see orange galaxy --- had it even actually left its shell? She'd thought it hatched, but she wasn't sure. But she had at least seen the other three --- bronze butterfly, purple glitter turning out to be a lovely, blue brimming with pride and confidence, and now rose --- a little green who looked just as sweet as her mind had been during the touching. What darlings, every one of them.
... She was truly lucky to be here, to get to see all of these wonderful little ones; and to think, she wouldn't have if she had chosen to stay back at High Reaches! She knew there were candidates who hadn't wanted to risk Impressing here and having to stay, but... that just meant they weren't going to get to meet these wonderful dragons. It was a little silly to stay out of it, to her mind --- participating in the swap was helping her own Weyr, because... um. What was it...? Oh, right. Strengthening alliances and whatnot. And, of course, getting to make new friends. (And see even more pretty babies.)
...And just while she was thinking about that, another green hatched, and--- immediately went to her parents to cuddle up. How sweet!

Dextelia-High Reaches-She/HerContinuing to let her attention flit around from all of the dragonets, Dextelia noticed a little green coming towards her. The young girl didn't move, remembering everything she had been taught but she wasn't scared, the green's eyes weren't red. Being pounced on threw Dextelia from her feet and even though she winced slightly at the front claws of the dragonet being a little too rough she could not help the smile that formed on her face. Feeling the green nuzzle her, hearing the happy cheep before the dragonet launched off of her. Seated on the hot sand, Dextelia winced and took a moment to watch as the green ran off, the smile still on her lips as she watched her. The scratches she had gotten from the green weren't bad and although they bled it wasn't something she needed to get taken care of right now, instead Dextelia stood up again and brushed herself off. She figured that if you had to get hurt during a hatching having it be done by a dragonet being a bit to playful was worth it. When else would she get to feel that kind of energy unless she impressed.

Two greens with vastly different personalities—-or so it seemed—-moved about the sands, one causing chaos as she seemed determined to. . . He had no idea what she was doing or where she was going. The green seemed to be having a difficult time as evidenced by the current entanglement with the candidate. The other green had hatched and immediately gone to its mother before he’d really gotten a good look at her.
Halvor looked over the candidates and dragons once more. What kind of dragon would be right for him? If he was to be pragmatic the brown who held little interest in this whole thing was probably the most enduring and he could identify with him. The others were so. . . Happy and playful. Would that be right for him? He wasn’t sure. He wasn’t a complete bore but. . . They seemed so. . . Soft. There was almost nothing soft about him. Halvor mulled it over in his mind, his hands gripping his arms tightly. He shifted himself a little closer to the other candidates. Just slightly though.

Lelte Well, that was certainly a bit of a shock. Rose had hatched into just about the cutest little thing she had ever seen. Being so precious and going over to cheer up her disgruntled bronze brother. It was all Lelte could do to not coo and melt over the sweet scene.
Then apparently another little green hatched, and seemed to be on a mission. The tail would probably leave a good welt on her leg, but that was one of the hazards of standing. And it could have been much much worse. She giggled a little to herself and shook her head. Whatever it was must be something important for the hatchling to be in such a rush.
She looked down at her leg. It hadn't broken the skin so there was no blood, but the welt she anticipated definitely was there, and a bruise had started already, so it was going to be a stunner later on. Nothing serious. She would wait until after to get something from the healers for it. But for now she would stand, and wait to see what else might happen.

Khamaith Hearts full of love for watching her children crack their shells, to take first steps onto the sands, Khamaith was besotted with each son or daughter that managed to task of opening their shells. She was content to watch, but as the Orange Leopard Spot Egg tumbled out a little green daughter, there was only the slight spark of surprise when she ran to her instead of into the crowd. Hello, my little love. That was quite the flip you did! She leans down, arranging herself so she could gently nuzzle her small daughter, love and warmth in every syllable.

En'cai of bronze Spurth"He wants to be noticed, all right," En'cai said of the little blue approvinlgly. When another green appeared from the rose-colored egg, and the girls began to show off their personalities, too, the man-that-had-been-a-mountain of a bronzerider transformed into a pile of mush. "Aww," he actually said aloud, glancing at Z'haq before pointing down at the Sands again. "Look at them. They're both so happy. Peaceful, in their own ways." He'd never imagined himself with any dragon other than Spurth, but if the bronze had come out of his shell green and bouncing with joy... We are perfectly content to be bronze and rider, Spurth reminded his rider, not quite offended. And if I have to prove it by bouncing, I will. When I can.---- Anneke of green Uluth"And this is why the Weyr always needs greens," Anneke shouted, hands cupped around her mouth. "You take care of him, little sister. That's what we do!" She had, perhaps, already been drinking. Then again, maybe it was just in her nature to be loudly enthusiastic.

Tribal Green Bronze continued to groom his tail in a self-soothing fashion. He was mighty, he was grand... and there was at least someone on the Sands that was appreciative of him. Some Candidates, it seemed, had good taste...
But he was in no mood to humor them. Not yet at least.
When Rose Green came over, the bronze did spare his green clutchmate a passing look when she dared to touch his pristine hide. Still, beggers couldn't be choosers, and she was right to fawn over him. She was a green, he was perfection... High above her station, but at least she remembered her place and was properly reverent.
As a sign of his generous nature, he reached out offer her a swift nuzzle, before rising to his feet. Yes. Let the world now see his---
Gold Striped Egg EXPLODED and out toppled a gold. Now this party can really get started! She bugled--but her eyes did show a flash of red at Rose Green. With her wings still wide, the dragon pushed herself right over to where Rose Green was standing, forcing the green away.
Sorry, sis--he's too shiny for you. Why not find another boy? Or better yet, one of the other girls? Though she had no malice in her heart towards her sister, there were some things that this lady wanted. And right now, this golden lady wanted the boys... All of them. She was a queen. This bronze, like all bronzes, should rightfully be Hers. Maybe now they could all have some fun!
....
..... Green Tribal Bronze had the decency to only looked slightly put off. Another dragon to steal his show, and his golden sister at that. Great. Just... perfect. This really was not his day.

Z'haq of Bronze EorawthZ'haq too became a pile of mush when he saw the newly-hatched little green head toward her mother to be snuggled and loved. "Awwww, what a sweet scene." He thought of his daughter Zharesa snuggling with Resa and his eyes welled up a bit; he loved them both so much. And there was very little that could melt his heart the way a mother's love for her child could. "Dust in my eyes. All this sand getting stirred up," Z'haq muttered, wiping his eyes (and not fooling anyone). "So, big guy, who do you think is going to Impress first of the hatchlings on the sands?" he asked En'cai. "I'm betting on that lively little blue, the one running about." He shot En'cai a look and a grin that said he was willing to place marks on that bet.

Kadosse
Ah. This one would not be a friend for her - perhaps they would still dance a little, but Kadosse had no illusions of impression a Gold dragon. Those were for better people, after all, and not her. Still, she couldn't help but peer sympathetically after the Rose Green that had been pushed out of the way.
I'd be happy to have your company, dear, if it was something even desirable.
-----
Fahn
Woo! A party was getting STARTED and Fahn was HERE for it. While the gold was an exciting prospect - really, didn't every girl dream of a gold? - she was a touch more enamored with the brown that was laying on one of the other candidates...and that blue...and those greens! MMM!
But if they all could keep up with her, she'd take it!
What a day! She was hyped!

... The Rose green cheeped, backing swiftly away from bronze and gold sibling alike. It. She hadn't meant to...
Oh dear. Rose didn't know what to do. She had clearly taken a wrong step, trod where she was not wanted. In her haste to back away, Rose tripped and fell creeling snout over tail, her wing fouling in her hind leg in the process.
Ouch! And her flight had knocked her directly into Green Striped Pink Egg, which cracked to reveal yet another green. The suddenly denuded dragonet gave a hiss, slashing in irritation at her sister. How dare she?? What was this rudeness? Where were her manners?
Excuse!!!!!!!!!
Rude. So rude.
Giving a sharp slap of her tail to emphasize her irritation, she dismissed her now fallen and ichor oozing sister, only to turn her gaze upon the Candidates. Her eyes were distinctly and visibly red.
