August was grateful that Dimitri had chose to stay behind instead of running. Once he had an open opportunity, he took it. He changed the direction of his gravity and launched himself at Dimitri before the lava user could seal off the room for their own safety. He thanked the other Alpha, who played it off as just being something that they do for each other, for a team. August nodded, agreeing that they certainly were far from being done with this mission.
Once they had an idea on how Seige and Wraith were doing, August gave his own input on his condition, giving Dimitri a much needed sigh of relief. "You think they are gonna be like wasps protecting their queen?" The idea of it didn't seem to far off. They already behaved like a hive. It wasn't often that one was on its own. They witnessed the drones outside, trying to fight off the mutants as they made a push to breech the walls of the compound.
Once they rendezvoused with the others, they were able to take a moment to relax. Dimitri helped remove the pack from Gabe, while August took the time to look at the injuries that the lava user had sustained while fighting. The scrape didn't seem like it was bleeding, at least not heavily, but it could still use some cleaning and a bandage. A few items that they didn't have access to right at that moment.
He gave Gabe a bit of hell for not running when he said. The blonde berated that he wasn't going to not take an opportunity if it was presented. August felt heat flood his face as he thought about it. He knew that Gabe would do something like that, but all the same, it was a stupid call that left them with one person that was almost down for the count. Breathing was almost a chore for the blonde, all because of that damned blast.
His hand went up to stop Dimitri, even though he didn't take the hint before he started. "No, no Jedi c'mon. It wasn't worth it. That thing still ain't down." August continued on, ripping into the three of them like an angry mother yelling at her children for doing something reckless and stupid. Like playing with matches in a hay barn.
The sharp jaw of the Texan tightened as Dimitri called his s**t about the Omegas. "You wanna question my loyalty to this team, then that's fine, but I want you to remember that when I carry your a** out of the rubble of this place. I'm willin' to die to save any one of you." He could have hit that pretty boy in his teeth, but August decided against it. He was never fond of the split teams among the X-Men. It never made sense to him. If anything, it seemed to divide them further. It always seemed like there was an us and them mentality. August wasn't about it. He could be friends with everyone and anyone. And there wasn't a single person, Alpha or Omega, that he wouldn't pull out of danger or sacrifice himself to save.
When Dimitri announced that the wall of lava he had put between them and the sentinel was down, August’s shoulders tensed. He chewed at his lip thinking about what to do next. They had a plan, one that wasn’t the best and most thought out. Considering Gabe didn’t have any explosives, and Wraith didn’t seem to confirm or deny using his constructs. That alone made August nervous. The southerner was starting to get the feeling that the noobie didn’t know how to work with a team. At all. And they were all going to be killed if he didn’t get a crash course in communication quick.
August moved into a better position as whatever lackluster idea of a plan that they had crumbled when the sentinels actually arrived. Wraith went full cowboy. Which was the exact opposite of what August had just spent the last few minutes saying what to do. This dude was going to get himself killed, and then them. Probably definitely in that order. The Texan knew he had to do something and fast, but everything was happening at an overwhelming rate. The Sentinels were attracted to Gabe, who had hacked into the system in a way that worked, and then immediately backfired.
Calvary arrived, though. In the form of Allegra, Rectify, and Tsunami. Finally, with some form of leadership and team work rather than the four of them butting heads, August sprung into action. Tsunami aided Wraith while Rectify and Allegra played ‘stop hitting yourselves’ with the two larger sentinels. The sound of twisting metal almost reminded August of a car wreck. It was awesome. At least until Allegra took a hit from one of the smaller sentinels. Orders were barked, Rectify took over the sentinel that was being torn apart by Allegra and August had his own set of orders.
The gravity manipulator pulled himself to the downed sentinel and stood at it’s head. It was nerve wracking seeing them this close. Putting his focus on the head of the machine, August started to increase the gravity that held it down. The floor started to groan and buckle under the pressure, small cracks starting to form as the pressure continued to increase between the two. One of two things would happen, either the plating would start to fracture or the floor would buckle and give out beneath the intense amount of focused gravity. Either way, it would take a lot of force to sit up under that much pressure.

It seemed that there was some tension amongst those who had come to rescue her, and the others. She tried not to pay too much attention to it, but it seemed like Roland was stubborn and perhaps a little thick in the head. Either way, she did what she could to keep the other prisoners calm and collected while they were getting let out one by one from their cages. At least that meant that Daylia could conserve her energy a bit.
It seemed that Aren and Daylia were okay with leaving Roland to his own devices and Luci went along with them. Well, more like led them. Using the memory of her senses, she blindly lead them down the halls and to where the lab would be located. She wanted to say something to the two of them, but thought better of it. It wasn’t her place. She wasn’t part of their team. She was no X-Man.
When they reached the door, she mentioned not knowing what the passcode was to get inside. She blushed a bit, slightly embarrassed when Aren said that they wouldn’t need it. It was different, being surrounded by mutants. She was so used to being a prisoner here. Her thoughts weren’t exactly in the best place right now. “Right… Sorry… I forgot…”
He asked Daylia if it would be easier to take them on one at a time and she agreed, though she wanted to see what was on the other side before leading them into some unknown danger. Luci wanted nothing more than to reach out and take the girl’s hand and wish her luck and to be careful, but instead, she kept her hands at her sides and waited patiently.
She chewed at her lip, trying not to look too nervous or too impatient, but her eyes darted up and down the hall to make sure that there was no one coming their way. Her senses were wired tight as she tried to stay focus. There was a small commotion on the other side of the door that caught her attention. When her eyes swung back to the door, Daylia was sticking her head through it.
Luci jumped before nodding when Daylia asked if either one of them would come with her, though her eyes were almost exclusively on her own. “Right.” She reached out, carefully taking the cloth covered arm and closing her eyes as she slid through the door seamlessly. Once she was on the other side, she understood the full seriousness of what Daylia was talking about. She reached her arms out, trying to calm them without touching them. “Please, everyone. We will be getting you out of here as fast as we can. Please just stay calm for a little longer. We will all get to go home soon, I promise. The X-Men are here to save us.”

Location: Omega Side Recon Team (Facility Interior)
Based on the brief sentinel encounters she had seen earlier, Farren fully anticipated the machine Kerri had gone after to recover and make another go at them. It didn't take long and just as she was about to respond to the threat in kind, it seemed Cam had decided to do so for her, quickly grabbing her and shoving her into the wall as if she were some delicate damsel in distress. While the notion in itself was sweet, her warrior's ego was hurt. She was perfectly competent and found not being trusted to take care of herself a difficult pill to swallow.
Instead of responding with hostility, however, she opted for the brighter side of the coin, resorting to some humour instead. She offered her first statement with a mischievous wink, "Hey, I have no issues with being man handled but at least take me out for dinner first, this isn't 50 Shades of Grey, after all."
Again, the sentiment behind him asking her if she was alright was sweet, albeit completely unnecessary given the ability of her mutation. While she hadn't expected to be grabbed by the waist, the moment she had, reflex had taken over and her mutation had kicked in to absorb any impact that she would have taken from being shoved against the wall. She contemplated telling him he'd have to wake up pretty early to pull a fast one on her but instead opted for the more humble route. "No worries, I'm fine," she assured with a brief nod of her head.
Farren nodded silently in agreement as Cam noted it didn't look like they had much of a choice but to split up at this point, courtesy of the security system. She also found herself nodding yet again, this time in approval as her companion craftily decided to lay down some electrical tape to help mark their way through the place. At least this guy seemed to have some wits about him, unlike some of the other brutes their team was comprised of.
The kinetic absorptionist had no issue falling in line and allowing Cam to take the lead. He seemed comfortable doing so and Farren wasn't petty enough to steal someone's thunder. As long as he was competent, she had no issue playing off of another person's strengths in order to better increase their odds.
When he turned to make his observation about being able to duck into the rooms, Farren again, simply nodded in agreement. She made sure to take a mental note of the rooms which had been empty before they continued forward to yet another split hallway where Cam suggested they opt for going right as opposed to left this time. Farren's response was a chuckle followed by a small quip, "What's the worst that could happen?"
The moment Cam opened the door, Farren bit back the urge to wretch as a stale, foul odor assaulted her senses. While she had fought plenty inside and outside of the ring and drawn her fair share of blood, never had she been witness to or a part of what essentially looked like a crime scene right out of CSI. It took her a moment to catch her breath and fully collect herself but it was nothing she wasn't able to shake off.
Once she overcame the initial shock of the stench, she turned her attention to the walls and floors since it was practically impossible to miss the fact they were adorned with what she assumed were sentinel blasts and blood. The marks along the walls were haphazard and varied, yet they almost told a story of what happened here when the dried blood intertwined into the grotesque tapestry laid before them.
The only aspect of the entire scene that truly managed to get under her skin was the thought of how many souls the blood belonged to. How many people had perished needlessly before they had found this place? How many more were still suffering because they had yet to be found?
While her adrenaline had kicked in by this point, Farren made a point to remain cautious and as calm as possible given the situation. Unlike Cam, she had never encountered a scene like this before so it was definitely a lot for her to process but overall she was keeping her cool relatively well given her inexperience.
Farren paused to observe as Cam came to a full stop, pausing right in front of a door he'd initially appeared to have the intention of opening. The sudden pause in his formerly fluid movements caught her attention and she silently observed as he fell into an almost blank state of mind, simply staring straight at the door as if no one was home.
She decided to give him a few moments of pause for a grace period. She was pretty sure they had lost the sentinels and maybe he just needed a moment to take a breath, though she was skeptical of that being his reasoning given his expression.
Remaining steadfast as an ever dutiful safeguard, Farren assessed the room to assure no immediate threats appeared to be present while granting Cam his moment of reprieve. Once completing her assessment, she quickly turned back to Cam just in time to register the overbearing sentiment of fear crossing his countenance. Likewise, she didn't fail to miss how his actions shifted from calculated to impulsive following his unnerving pause in front of the door.
Before she could ask if he was okay, however, he decided now was the time to press forward, almost frantically checking the doors as if his life suddenly depended on it.
Given the fact this place seemed long abandoned, Farren was genuinely surprised when Cam informed her he'd actually found something other than a sentinel in this graveyard of a factory. When asked to assist in freeing the newfound captive, she obliged without question. "Leave it to me," she informed with a pleasant smile as she focused her energy into making herself strong enough to break the straps with ease.
Again, she allowed Cameron to take the lead on addressing the tattooed individual that had formerly been strapped to the table. He introduced himself, let the guy know he was going to be alright, the basics. In all the commotion, she hadn't been introduced but she figured it could wait. The last thing she wanted to do was overload the new dude with too much information or seem like she was competing with Cam for a chance to talk. She was patient, she could wait.
"You're welcome," Farren offered gently to the clearly nervous man. She was almost afraid he might have a mental break down if he got to see anything beyond the room he'd been in for who knew how long.
The nervous tattooed man informed them that he had formerly attended the academy before it had been destroyed and had then gone into hiding only to clearly be caught despite his efforts. He then proceeded to introduce himself, to which Farren took the opportunity to do so herself. "Nice to meet you, Ro-Johnny Carcosa," she teased lightly as she concluded with her own introduction, "I'm Farren."
When approached with a pair of ear plugs without an initial explanation, Farren offered a semi-perplexed expression but accepted the token all the same. However, once offered the brief explanation, her confusion seemed to lift. "Ever tried," she wondered out loud, "'talking' to one of those giant tin cans out there? Because that's all we've really encountered in here so far. And speaking of those, it would probably be in our best interest to keep moving just in case the ones we met earlier are still trying to track us down."

Rectify Alpha-side: Outside then Entering Compound
Lachlan had tried his best to relax and hold his breath as he was encased within a dome of water. The relaxation portion was short lived when thoughts of people performing live stunts attempting to escape from glass boxes of water came to mind. Like those people he had a timer that was counting down, unlike those people, he was not a trained professional by any means.
As if to heighten his already brewing anxiety, Eden ended up taking a direct hit from the sentinel she'd been distracting for his sake and guilt immediately swelled up within the super strong mutant. As much as he hadn't cared for the plan from the start, he now cared for it even less so now that his friend had been hurt as a result of it. Worse yet, he wasn't even able to aid her because he was currently suspended in an orb of water in preparation to launch at the sentinel. And then, a red beam of light shot straight toward the sentinel and deciding to take that as the 'go' for launch, Marcel launched the farm boy toward the machine.
In the end, Cyclops had wound up assisting them with their sentinel, blasting it once just before Lachlan had been about to launch and again after they'd decided to follow through with the launch, severing the head of the machine directly from its shoulders.
While there was a ton of dust and debris following the impact of the sentinel being brought to the ground by Summer's laser and Marcel's ability launching him, Lachlan, unlike the others, was within close enough proximity of the sentinel to see what was going on. Another laser fired in support severed the head from the machine as Lachlan rose to catch his bearings.
All he wanted to do was find Eden at this point and assure she was alright but he knew someone else would have to undertake that endeavor. Right now the best he could do to assure his friend remained safe was to render the sentinel as useless as he possibly could. While on his own, he definitely would have struggled to make a direct go for the head, with Marcel, Alex and Scott's help, he was able to locate the severed head and was quick to utilize his ability to completely crush the head with total ease, hopefully assuring the machine would not rise again and relieving Marcel of having to unnecessarily overexert his mutation. The guy looked like he could use a rest.
Lachlan's immediate instinct, once the threat was presumably dispatched, was to search for and retrieve Eden. Before he could even do so, Alex had already beaten him to the punch with Aurelie quick to follow up by using her ability to return the bubbly brunette to the safety of the jet. Crisis averted for now.
And onto the next crisis. Apparently there were dilemmas on multiple fronts: omega and alpha related. It seemed the other group of alphas that had split off from the core of the group had wound up biting off more than they could chew. As for why they'd decided to recklessly venture off with the knowledge they had of the sentinels, that was anyone's guess.
"Considering I was just launched as a human cannon ball and cavalry typically smash into the front lines more often than not, I'd say I could qualify for the both of us." Aurelie was quick to nab him into the air with her ability, commenting that she hope he didn't get airsick, to which Lachlan offered a small smirk and chuckle. "Just because I'm from a farm doesn't mean I'm a total land lubber."
Upon arrival, they found Gabe attempting a hack job that inevitably wound up being botched by what he assumed to be some sort of security protocol within the system. Along with that, there was one of the newer members on his own taking on two sentinels by himself, to which Lachlan offered a concerned frown. Soon enough, however, Aurelie decided to take the reins and give some direction to the chaotic, disorganized mess of a group.
Two large sentinels arrived shortly after the computer system had shut itself down and Lachlan could only assume it was a direct result of Gabe's tampering. Aurelie volunteered herself along with himself to deal with the immediate threat of the larger two. She decided to pick one up while suggesting he pick the other up. And in a heavy clash of sparks and a nails meeting chalkboard-like metallic screech, the two sentinels collided.
Unfortunately, due to the amount of concentration it likely took to lift and throw such a large object, the telekinetic missed one of the smaller sentinels firing at her. The moment she took the hit, her telekinetic grip on the sentinel released, the giant robot clattering to the floor with a loud crash.
While he wanted to see if Aurelie was okay, the fact she was still issuing orders was at least assurance enough for now that she was not mortally wounded. As tempted as he was to drop everything and escort her out of harm's way, he knew that wasn't a realistic option at the moment. They'd come to assist the group, not to bail the moment they took a hit. He couldn't just leave them behind when they'd requested the help.
Lachlan was almost robotic himself as he followed Aurelie's orders without question, immediately grasping the sentinel she'd dropped and tackling it into the wall to temporarily pin it. "We need someone to target the vitals on these two while Jedi and I have them pinned. Need to put some damage down while we have the chance."

He had never realized before - mostly because he and Daylia rarely spent any amount of time in each other’s company - but the faux redhead definitely sported a bit of an evil streak. The way her jaw ticked when he mentioned Dimitri garnered a small chuckle as he looked at her. “Well, if he was bragging about getting into bed with you, I’d say that’s a fair punishment.” He said with a sage nod. Whether or not the Alpha had done so was still up for debate - both schools of thought remained occupied with plenty of people. The size shifter wouldn’t put it past the lava bender, but only because the guy went around with a codename like “Playboy.” With a moniker like that, he was just asking for rumors.
Navigating through the compound took little time, especially since all they really had to do was follow the smashed in alarms on the walls… When they arrived, the dark-haired beauty was munching on the snack he’d left her. His stomach growled; sustenance would be needed soon. Daylia honed in on the bag of chips and after the two Omegas struck an accord, they honed their focus on helping the girl in the cage escape.
Roland trailed in behind them just as D stepped between the bars and attempted to play the valiant hero - only for the chameleon to prove her abilities were far more useful in this situation than brute force. The armored mutant pushed past the next door, and Aren left his former roommate to his own devices. If he didn’t want to wait for the girl who Aren had specifically retrieved for the task at hand, they weren’t going to wait on him either. Both he and Daylia made snide remarks about wasted energy, but it fell on deaf ears.
If Roland had his mind set to do something, he was going to do it - even if it made him look like an a*****e. And he clearly had no intention of actually operating as a team member right now.
The suggestion to take Luci back to the jet to rest proved that the poison generator was more than just a damsel; she intended to help others like her. Knowing this argument would not be won, the native bobbed his head along with her reasoning, and then shrugged for Daylia’s sake as soon as he moved behind their captive so that she wouldn’t see. Really… the girl looked as though she might fall over if anyone blew on her too hard.
“If you get too tired, just let me know and I’ll carry you.” He grinned, dimples formed on either side of his cheeks before he held up a hand to silence any refusal he thought might be coming. “And before you say it’s too dangerous for me to do so, I’ve carried much more volatile women than you to safety.” He didn’t mention that he’d nearly lost his hands in the process. But even if he had, the sacrifice would have been worth it.
Leaving Roland to the group of mutants he’d found, Aren, Daylia and Luci doubled back, following the latter’s memories in hopes of finding more people. As they moved through the empty corridors, a mix of pity and fury gnarled its way around his insides. A fool could have read the trauma in Luci’s expressions. Why would anyone ever think this was acceptable?
Flexing his fists, Aren stayed uncharacteristically silent until they reached a door with an electronic lock. There was a thread of an apology in her tone when she said she didn’t know the code, and Aren dismissed it all too easily, explaining that they wouldn’t really need one for their operation.
Daylia nodded, and with a sigh, she passed through the door as though it were made of air. Aren fidgeted on their side of the door, not at all a fan on not being able to see his teammate. What if she needed help in there? He heard something crash, and then a few screams. Glancing over to Luci, his chocolate eyes laced with his worry.
“I hope she was the one who caused the crash. If she’s not out here in ten secon-” Before he could finish his vow to avenge her, Daylia popped out to see if they wanted to come with. Nodding over to Luci, he folded his arms across his chest. “I’ll stay out here and keep watch while you guys round up the prisoners if there’s no danger in there. But she’ll need your help to get them out of hysterics.”
With the two girls disappearing through the door, Aren sighed, swinging his arms impatiently. Of all the gifts that Napi had granted him, patience was not one of them.

Life is phantasmagoria now, and every shadow is reaching out to me. Life is phantasmagoria now, and all that's left is the stranger part of me.☣ L o c a t i o n: Compound Experimentation Room☣ T h e m e: [Phantasmagoria]████████████████████████████████████████████████████xxx O u t Of Cookie s:] The man who freed him reassured him that he was fine now, and he would be getting out. Rory wished he had the positive outlook to be able to believe him. His mind was currently in that spiral where he could only conceive of ways in which everything got worse and worse. That he was being rescued was an aberration that would probably soon be corrected. The man offered him a granola bar, which Rory took gingerly with a raised brow. ”Uh, th-thanks.” He might have eaten it then if his stomach was not doing somersaults, in anticipation. He pocketed it, along with the gum, and moved along to grab his belongings. If they were to be getting out, he would not be leaving without his camera.
If there was any intended comedy in Farren’s willful mispronunciation of Rory’s codename, it flew completely over his head. Did he do something wrong? Was he not supposed to use codenames? He was never in the X-Men, so was that a taboo? She didn’t use a codename, so did she just not have one? Did they not do that stuff anymore? Were they gonna make fun of him for clinging to outdated ideas about how the X-Men operated? Was he going to be grilled for spreading false ideas of how the X-Men operated? Was he-
It was entirely possible that he was overthinking things. Not that that was anything new for him. This was standard operating procedure for the man. He moved along to grab his things without real reply.
Rory explained to the others a bit of his powers, though only in the vaguest sense. Fracture implied that he should use his voice against the machines they kept in the base, to which Rory quickly shook his head. ”My voice only works on people,” he elaborated. He supposed it was his fault that they misunderstood for not explaining in greater detail. ”My voice doesn’t really… hurt people per se.” He wondered if he could explain it in layman’s terms that would not confuse the others. He still was not completely sure he understood it. When Professor McCoy had analysed his power and explained it to him, he’d used all this scientific jargon that mostly sent his head spinning. ”When I use my power, and people hear my voice, their mind breaks… they go insane.” It was significantly more complicated than that, but he had little time to explain the eldritch mechanics of the way his larynx worked. ”Can’t exactly do that to a robot. No mind to break. Just people. That’s why the people who locked me in here gagged me.”
Fracture took his offered ear plugs, though Aero did not, explaining that he had his own. He nodded his head when the man explained why he had his own ear plugs. Fracture expressed the importance of moving quickly, and Aero backed her up in this. ”I’m r-ready.” He wanted just as much to be free of this place as the others did. If they could offer him a way out, he would not reject it, even if he was not completely optimistic about their chances. A low chance was still better than none at all, and doing something was better than laying strapped to a surgical table just waiting to die.
Aero asked him if there were any other survivors, and Rory just shrugged. ”I had a bag over my head when I was brought here. If there is anyone else I didn’t see them.” He accepted the water bottle offered to him, and quickly drank up most of it, waiting for them to lead the way out. He was certainly in no condition to lead them anywhere.
Mid-dark thoughts of the grey tombstone, And all I loved, I loved alone. The second son of a setting sun, Scores to settle, one by one. Years of love have been forgot, Years of trouble, years of draught. Years of ever gently tapping On your chamber, all for naught.

Gabriel Byrne Location: Sentinel Base Thoughts: Here comes the Cavalry! Thoughts of an escape plan involving explosives panned out rather quickly with the revelation that Gabe was not equipped with high-grade explosives. He was going to have to rectify that next time around. If he had his druthers he would’ve brought the explosive rounds he had in his workshop. The only problem was that they were incredibly experimental. Like, never tested before, and with munitions designed to have a programmed detonation upon impact the prospect of those rounds being hacked, having a magazine of those exploding in his belt would be… problematic so to speak. And by problematic he thought of the prospect of having his torso and his legs separated 80 feet from each other. The prospect of being blown up was not a fun idea… In lieu of explosives, he considered the other thing he was good at: computers. Thinking on the hypothesis that the older intranet was the foundation for the newer network the Sentinels designed, he attempted to get into the old system and get access to a building directory. This was an old R&D center, the Master Mold resided here, and if they were able to figure out just… where the hell this thing is they’d be able to destroy it with efficiency. Less fighting these metal monsters like rats in a glossy white maze, just a quick pathway to the mind of this horrific intelligence. Hell if they could get an approximate location they could evacuate now and have the likes of Narcissa or one of the other heavy hitters just vaporize the Master Mold with pinpoint accuracy. We basically have walking tactical warheads in the base, we should figure out a way to use them. And just when he thought he had, right when he was on the verge of success… everything went kaput. The terminal shut down, everything around him went dead. His comm too. “My commlink is bricked! Though a bright white light came shining in as they were met with reinforcements. Rectify, Aurelie, and others soon joined them. Aurelie stated with fear that he’d likely given the Sentinels their location, causing his heart to sink. Soon she was proven correct the vibrations of two full-sized Sentinels approaching them. Lifting his pistol up, he looked at the telekinetic “It’ll be like fighting a shark. When all else fails, hit ‘em with your stumps!” gesturing with his pistol to refer to that as his “stump”. ******** all it would do, even if he were lucky enough to hit the machine’s optics, the odds of that being slim to none in a snowball’s chance in hell. He waited for everything to fall apart around him even further, really go out with a bang... OOC: Post is blah, sorry. Let me know of any critiques please.

"Ehh, he was just proud." Daylia rolled her eyes towards the heavens. "That and more." She said bitterly. Of course there was some doubt over whether he actually did it or not. Still, she wouldn’t let anyone else in on the thought.
------------
After rescuing Lucianna, Aren and Daylia took their new friend as they allowed the heard headed Roland to beat himself silly to get more people out. There was little they could do to circumvent their peer's stupidity. After a few comments, the trio departed for the labs, to see if there was anyone else that needed help.
After all, Roland had everything under control.
She remained quiet for the most part as Luci lead them to the lab area. The tiny woman seemed to be doing so from movement memory, as she had her eyes closed most of the time. It made Daylia shudder to think just how many times they had wheeled her here for Luci to be able to do that.
A brow rose in Arens direction ad he offered to carry Lucianna. This was precisely why Daylia suggested that they drop the poison generator off before they went any deeper into the facility. She gave a shrug with his claim. "He has, pretty sure he damn near lost his flanges for that one."
After a while, they made it to their destination. Luci apologized for not remembering that they wouldn’t need a code. D waved it away. "S’all good. As you saw earlier, even people who’ve known me for years forget what I can do." She said flashing the woman a smile.
Daylia poked her head out, causing Aren to stop midsentence. A brow rose in his direction before asking if either of them were going to join her in the other room. Aren said that he would keep watch, but that Lucianna would possibly be able to help calm them. "Okay then. Just, uh bang on the door I guess if something happens out here? I’m gonna pull them all out of the room, there was a doctor in there..." She said as Luci latched on to D’s arm. "I uh, knocked him out, but if he comes to I don’t want the hysteria to start up again… If she can even get them to calm down in the first place."
Wanting to get everything over with as quickly as possible, she pulled the other woman into the room with the loud prisoners who were begging for help. Her jaw flexed as her eyes looked the room over as Luci addressed the other seven prisoners. On one of the shelves,` she spotted a box of gloves.
She made a beeline for the box and pulled out two pairs, and slipped one of them on. "Here." She said opening one of them up so that Luci could stick her hand in without contaminating the outside. "Hopefully with these you can help me get them out of their restraints faster."
It would be better to have both of them working on it, rather than the woman keeping her distance in fear that she would hurt someone.
Once her gloves were on, D took hers off before moving back to the doctor she had knocked out. Rummaging through his pockets she pulled out a hand radio and his ID badge which may have also been a key card. She tossed the radio away from him before tucking the ID into a pocket.
She quickly went to try and unbuckle the others from their beds as they began to calm down. With two up, she lead them to the door. "Here, take my hand and hold your breath." She said to the first one, and after getting a weak nod, she shoved them through the door.
There was some resistance once the prisoner realized where she was trying to shove her, but because of their weakened state, she was able to pull it off. The next one was easier. One by one she shoved them through the door as they held onto her hand.
It didn’t take long, or well not as long as she assumed Rolands plan had. "Was that the last one?" She asked as her eyes scanned the room. "Alright, let's go." She said holding out her arm for Luci.
Once back on the other side of the door, she looked to Aren. "I know not quite one at a time, but we can at least get them closer to the exit, and then maybe run them one by one?" She asked.

Location: Jet then the holding cells. Thinking: Whatever you do, don't s**t yourself. With: Aren, Luci, and Roland

She made it easy to see how hard she had to try not to laugh at his surprise. Shrugging when she called him rude, one side of his mouth pulled upwards into a lopsided grin. “Well that’s a first. I’m normally commended for my manners.” He said, accent thick as molasses on a cold winter’s day as he teased her further. “I’m sure you are doll, but as the older brother type, I’d have to do a hard pass without fainting from whatever you cook up in there.” He chuckled once again. “Then I stand by my statement. You’re as boring as a bump on a log.”
As soon as he ducked in and out of the compound, he found Alice’s side and headed back to face the monsters, following Narcissa’s orders to a T. He made a glib remark to Jinx, requesting that she not turn the compound into a sex toy factory, and Felix didn’t disappoint in his response. “I don’t really need updates on who’s riding who right now.” Holding up his palms in a neutral motion, his shoulders lifted towards his ears in a shrug when the speedster feigned outrage. “Hey I didn’t say you weren’t responsible. I only meant that even if you weren’t, you’d take the credit.” He reasoned, the chuckle that followed rising from deep within his chest as he stole a look at the Georgia peach. “Sorry doll, you’re never going to live this one down.” He said in the most unapologetic tone ever as his amusement took hold.
It didn’t take long for them to play dominoes with the robots, and they rushed to destroy them before they were given a chance to wake up. Between the two of them, they made quick work of the first row, but he stated plainly that he wouldn’t be able to do this for the hundreds of them still left.
Roland made an announcement about captives, and while noted, neither of them could afford to leave the task at hand. “Why is he alone anyway?” The Texan pondered aloud, plowing through the next pile of metal to make sure it stayed down.
Unable to help himself, his mind wandered to how the Alphas fared, and Alice pulled him back out of his thoughts. His expression became wry, and he shook his head admonishingly. “That sounded a little hopeful, doll.” He chided, thoroughly wishing his friend could forgive Bella for something she wasn’t guilty of. It wasn’t a crime not to feel the same way about someone.
He tried to get an update from Roland a few minutes later, but there was radio silence. Stopping, his features fell into a frown, making it clear he didn’t like the armored mutant’s lack of response. Ice settled in his stomach. “Dart, will you go check on Paladin?” It wasn’t like the man not to answer a call. “Something tells me he bit off more than he could chew this time.”
As if on cue, Thomas' voice sounded over the Omega's comm links. "Paladin has taken several shots and is down in front of the Omega jet."
s**t.

XX【 】 Name: Alexander "Lex" Magnus XX【 】 Codename: Wraith XX【 】 Team Affiliation: Alpha XX【 】 Location: Office XX【 】 With: Tsunami, Siege (?) XX【 】 Actions: Entered hall, spoke briefly with Tsunami, retreated to cover Wraith could appreciate what a cornered rat might feel like. He didn’t have anything more than a rifle and a wall to contend with two sentinels bearing down on him. His barrier earlier was more holy than the pope, and he didn’t dare run back again. Not only would that barrier not hold for long at all, but he got several singes from the last time he tried to move. They were like sunburns- superficial, but painful. These things were using rapid fire to track and suppress their targets. The difference was that they had no need to pause and recoup. Wraith? He managed to get off one shot. One. It was only because he hid and took a long time to aim that he even hit a head. His aim was off, and his effectiveness was immediately overshadowed by the machines honing in on his position. His attempt to down one automaton with the second’s fire seemed to be worthless. Wraith knew he moved that arm . . . but neither seemed the least bit bothered by his attempts. Instead, they fired an indiscriminate volley into the room that somehow managed to miss him. The shadows that were there naturally managed to hide him just enough. Still, he was trapped. His aim would be far worse the next time he pulled that trigger. He simply hadn’t trained for firearms. In the heat of the moment, he would have no time to relax and aim. It was going to have to be a pray that he hits anything that slows them down. Adding salt to the wound was the booming bass voice of “no threat detected.” Yeah, that was something he could agree with. Then the blasts started in earnest. At first, Wraith turned to look at Siege. But no- they weren’t aiming at him. They were aiming . . . up. Wraith’s eyes went wide as he realized they were co-opting his idea. They meant to bury the occupants of this room.
Wraith began to think fast. He couldn’t take them both out, but he might be able to distract them. He prepared to storm out. At best, he could fire at one while making a very simple bar with his shadows and try to knock the knees out of the other. He didn’t need to take them out- just keep them from collapsing the room before Siege could get out. He was scared beyond thought, but he had to protect his friend. A split moment before he could be desperate something strange happened. A torrent of water formed in the hallway- one strong enough to knock the sentinels off their feet and down the hall. Hardly a permanent solution, but definitely one better than what he was about to try. Wraith got up and stuck his head out in the hall in shock. Reinforcements? Siege had specifically said to leave them be. To focus on the mission. And yet, more of their kind were here. Maybe . . . just maybe . . . they were a team after all. From the moment they landed, Wraith saw no teamwork. Only individuals hiding among themselves or a sparse few willing to actually attack like they were ordered to. Now this hydrokinetic was able to save his a**. After the water passed, Wraith stepped out into the hall and heard a call from an ally. Asking if he was okay, and all he could do was shrug and offer a wan smile. Frankly, he was an emotional mess and singed in about four or five places, but he was still on his feet. This new face said something about being enough to do away with some of the tin cans. The umbrakinetic shook his head. “Two is a start. We need a more significant number in here. Safety in numbers, and all that. My powers are recovering, but still pretty tapped. For now, I’m just a body that can move and shoot.” It wasn’t laced with the emo or self-defeatist attitude he showed his friend before. Instead, it was a calm evaluation.
Still, he turned around and looked down the hall where the sentinels were driven. Wraith didn’t know how far they would be carried. What was obvious was that they would return. A quick-wash was nowhere near enough to remove their threat. The sounds of battle from behind him proved that Jedi, Playboy, anybody else that showed, and perhaps even Siege were occupied. Jedi was an arrogant and bossy a**. To be fair, Wraith had no intent on helping that one unless absolutely necessary. He wouldn’t leave an ally or even an enemy mutant behind. That doesn’t mean he would rush to that one’s aid either. Too narrow-minded to appreciate that everybody was doing all they could to survive and win. Instead, he was focused on dealing with the immediate threat. Once again, he moved back into the office that had seen better days. The walls had provided some measure of cover before, so maybe they would again. Wraith took a knee and leaned just enough of himself out into the hall to aim his weapon. This time he wouldn’t get the surprise shot, so he was prepared to aim for the body instead of something like a head. Perhaps when he got back . . . if he got back . . . Wraith would look into more extensive gun training. Somehow, a sniper rifle seemed a wise choice. With his shadows and camo ability, it might be right to go and get a one-shot, one-kill kind of weapon. Of course, Wraith didn’t realize that his comms had gone dead like Siege. Instead, he was using proximity to the water-wielder to talk. “Please tell me there are more than just one coming to bolster our motley crew.”
OOC: I wish there was more to it, but my brain wasn't coming up with new options. Sorry. sweatdrop

It wasn’t meant to be this way. He had only meant to rid the world of the greatest menace of all. Mutants His mind spat the word as though it were some sort of curse. Holding his head in his hands, he kept his gaze fixed on the floor. What had gone wrong?
As soon as he activated the sentinels during a live broadcast - a show of strength to the world that they would no longer cower in fear to the disgusting creatures - they had turned on him. Kidnapped and taken back to his own facility, he had tried to stop them once he knew their intent. They meant to enslave the human race, to protect them from themselves.
Any who defied the sentinels was an enemy meant to die. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Master Mold forcing him to make more of these crazed beasts…. He groaned at the part he’d played in this. Had he gotten the wording right in their programming, none of this would be an issue. The sentinels would have only been after the mutants.
He had tried to fight Master Mold, tried not to help aid in the destruction of mankind. But he soon had found himself powerless to stop them. Crazed with despair, he nearly missed the voices in the hallway.
What? Someone to save him?
“In here!” He called out from behind the door. “In here!”
A robotic hand swatted at him, a silent threat to keep quiet as Trask collided with the wall behind him. “Nothing will stop us. The human’s dominion on earth will cease tonight.” Master Mold said, the mechanical voice devoid of all emotion.
Crawling toward the door, Bolivar unlocked it to let the presumed rescuers in. “It has taken over…” He said with a cough, only glancing up to realize the very bane he’d tried to eradicate stood before him. They wore suits emblazened with the X-men logo, making it unmistakable. “You!” He choked, still engulfed in his hatred. The fire in his eyes said he didn’t want their help, but as Master Mold shot a laser toward him, he really had little choice.

Inside the compound Too much was going on, and they were spread entirely too thin. Vega was down, Kat was only Scott knew where… and here they were, scattered. Felt as though she were being pulled in sixty different directions, Aurie prioritized the guys inside once Siege called out for help.
Hesitant to dub herself a part of the calvary, Lachlan’s good nature garnered a smile. “That’s good.” She said, nabbing him out of the air so that they could speed along. Chuckling despite the circumstances, the telekinetic looked up at him. “I don’t think I ever thought I’d hear those words actually said out loud.” She teased.
She sobered though once they ducked inside and found Gabe at a computer, attempting to hack the computer system. Another one of the boys had decided to try and take on two sentinels on his own, and Aurie grimaced. This proved nothing. Getting themselves killed wouldn’t make them appear any more badass than if they’d actually worked as a team to bring them down.
Immediately, she started barking out orders, the meek and questioning ballerina from before disappearing out of necessity. Two full sized sentinels stomped to their location, confirming the telekinetic’s fears that Gabe messing with the computer had supplied the robots with their location. Without much time before they started trying to attack, Aurelie lifted one up with invisible hands and beat it against the one Lachlan took hold of.
The ear-splitting noise caused her to grind her teeth and wince, but she kept at it until one of the smaller sentinels down the hall got a shot at her shoulder. Losing her concentration, the sentinel barreled into the floor with a thunderous crash as she yelped out in pain. She only managed to peek down at the wound for a split second, as the sight of her seared flesh sloughing off was enough to bring bile to the back of her throat. “Oh god, that’s gross.” She dry heaved momentarily before she remembered her place. Calling out more instructions, Lachlan and Auggie were all too happy to acquiesce. Auggie held the one down while the strong man picked up where she had left off, and she sagged against the wall, absently watch as the floor buckled beneath the weight of Jedi’s gravity.
The sentinel’s voice made her lungs quiver. “Isolate and destroy.” Four smaller robots started firing into the room where Gabe remained, and Aurie flicked her hand in the air, which hurled all of them into a pile opposite from the group. Throwing up another invisible wall so that they couldn’t collect themselves and start another onslaught of attacks, she took a second to breathe.
Mistake. It gave her time to think about the burning agony centered in her shoulder. Blowing on the wound as though the air might give her some relief, unfallen tears welled in her eyes. Glancing over to Gabe, he likened this fight to a shark fight, and a small smirk hinted at the corner of her lips. “I’d happily take a tank of sharks right about now.” She said straightening her posture so that she could round her focus back on the threat facing them. She tried her comm, but found static as well. “All of our comms are probably bricked…” She grimaced. Not that there was any more back up for them to call at this point.
Tsunami had gone to help Wraith, and after washing away their troubles for the time being, they headed back toward the ransacked office, and she let down the invisible wall she had placed around Alex earlier to allow them to pass. As soon as they were all within a close enough proximity, she drew up another invisible shield to protect them from any more surprise shots. He settled into position to shoot, the next adversary that came their way, and she caught wind of the last thing he said.
“Please tell me there are more than just one coming to bolster our motley crew.”
Frowning, she cocked her head as she looked at him, and then back at Auggie, Dimitri and Lachlan. It wasn’t like they’d not just helped placate two of the bigger threats for the moment, or that he hadn’t just walked passed them to get back into the office with Siege. “I guess Rectify and I are chopped liver?”
Glancing down at the sentinels that Lachlan and Auggie still had pinned, she nodded. “I’m going to tear off this one’s face,” She said in a tired tone, dipping her head toward the one in Lachlan’s grip. “As soon as you see the core, smash it.” As for the other, Dimitri could melt it down while Auggie held it in place.
The sound of metal folding was just about as pleasant as the robots colliding, and she wiped blood from beneath her nose as she continued to concentrate, corrupting the metal with her mind in a way she couldn’t ever hope to do without her abilities. “Now.”
((Treat the sentinels as players. Do not auto hit them and kill them without first speaking to Taibhse, Master Cliff Fate or myself. Thanks!))
