Beth couldn't wait for Misha to respond, not as a mattress pinned against the wall started to quiver. She turned her attention to it, once again beset by the notion that she did not have enough in her to keep fighting. She tried to push through it, and though her next attack did not have the same amount of oomph behind it as her previous ones, she still managed to hit and damage one of the birds trying to force its way through the torn stuffing.

Beth wondered what was honestly the better answer: to continue to attack a swarm that seemed never ending or to bolster failing defenses that seemed barely worth the time or energy as they were soon shredded by the enemy. They could only focus on one set of birds at a time. No use adding more to the mix. Casting her glance around, Beth grabbed a suitcase, plastic shelled and empty, already raided for valuable and useful items. She pushed it against the hole in the mattress, wondering if she dared push it through, if that would just weaken the entire frame and render her efforts counter productive.
Briiva needed to let her fingers rest. Pulling her bow onto her back, Briiva found a stool, knocked on its side and forgotten in the fray. She quickly grabbed it up and wedged it into their makeshift barricade before sinking down onto the ground, back against it. Pulling her water from her pack, Briiva took a long drink before sighing and wiping her forehead. "Well, I certainly didn't expect to be in this mess when I got outta bed this morning."

The frame piece he had decided to use as a replacement hammer had taken a bit of damage from the action. Maybe if he could find a janitor's closet, he might be able to find a tool kit in there...
But there wasn't really time to go looking for something when he was uncertain about where it was with all these birds throwing themselves against the building. So, instead, until he could locate a tool kit, he opted to keep using the broken frame piece as a hammer if he could find any more nails.
As he hadn't found much of either, yet, instead he took one of the comfortable chairs in the lounge and shoved it up against a wall that had taken quite a few hits.

She was beginning to run out of ideas until her foot caused something to clang against the stone of the fireplace. Hidden beneath debris was a fireplace grate. Marisol began to shove things aside and pulled it up, folding it so that it was easy to handle.
The windows near the back of the hotel hadn't been as watched as those in the front, she found, as she stumbled into what was probably once a sun room or library. It was hard to tell what anything had been now.
Shoving the grate against the first window that was being used as an entrance, she cringed as beaks and metal feathers poked at her flesh. Using the rest of her body, she managed to shove a light table against the bottom edge before rummaging to find something more solid to keep it in place. A metal piece of something was eventually found and she hammered it in to keep the grate firm.

Don't even worry about it!
Working with the other girl was good, it made her think that maybe they were all going to get through this. When she mentioned that Beaulah had a unique name she smiled. It was an old one, one that as a child she had hated but as an adult found comfort in being the only one with the name.
When they finished their task and the other women went off to search she decided to go another way, that way the two of them would be able to see more of the hotel and know just where to help. "Thanks for helping me out, hope to see you back at camp sometime."
As she went room by room she found there was very little left to fortify with, which was bad. However there was also not many places that the birds would be able to get into, which was good.
The birds were thinned again; they now do 10 dmg an hour.
Currently the Hotel is at 134 HP. The birds have been dealt 84 DMG.
PLEASE USE THESE NUMBERS FROM THIS POINT.

The strange thing was that Asher didn't really feel all that tired. This fight had been going on for the better part of an hour, and he should have been flagging, should have been ready to lie down and draw in great gulps of air and recover. Instead, scratched and bruised here and there, he felt he could keep going on forever, some strange wild energy fueling him.
He still hadn't mastered the inside fight, though, hadn't figured out how to handle the little pecks and swipes from birds in close quarters. But he tried.
Rob scowled at Sid, trying not to blush at her teasing remark. "Wha- It's nothing like that!" he protested, clutching the greatsword's hilt defensively. "I like it- I mean, it's a nice big weapon-"
More scrabbling sounded against the wall, and a taloned foot appeared through a hole. Ignoring the "discussion" for the moment, Rob repeated what he'd done before, shoving the long blade of the greatsword through the hole. Once more he felt it hit something solid and heavy, and a gurgling screech sounded from the other side of the wall.
"See? It's bloody useful!"
86 + 10 = 96 damage

As he began to push another armchair that hadn't been moved yet, it struck Zebulon that he couldn't wait to take a nap. He wasn't necessarily as physically exhausted as he thought he should have been, but dealing with these birds twenty-four/seven was enough to make him feel mentally groggy.
He shoved this armchair against a rather large crack forming in the wall. If the wall did finally start to break open, at least there would be something in front of it to stop an immediate entrance from what birds were left out there.
The plan to check along side the back hotel had dissolved once a flock had torn through a hole in whichever room she'd stumbled into. She tried to get some distance between them as she drew her whip and began to lash out. It didn't feel that it did a whole lot of good but it at least seemed to disorient the damn things.
Warm, lilting laughter slipped from Misha and the sound was more reassuring than hysterical. In fact, it was downright cheerful. She pushed the dead bird out of her way with her buckler and quickly came to stand at Beth's side. She shoved forward with her weapon to block another encroaching bird with a noisy bang.
That's when she remembered. She had a feather. One of those stupid, pointy feathers. Oh, if her head weren't attached...
Shooting Beth a broad smile, she reached behind her to snag the shining-sharp object from her waistband and drove it forward through the mattress. She felt it sink home into something with resistance. She resisted the urge to shout with relief and only drew it back, covered in ichor. She brought the feather-wielding hand back to help hold her buckler in place and looked sideways at Beth. "I'm going to move on the count of three," she announced. "Wedge that suitcase in the hole as soon as I'm gone."
One... Two... Three...
Misha spun out of the way with a dancer's grace.

It wasn't physical tiredness at this point, but mental; doing the same thing, repetitively, under strain, was wearing. Not the physical kind, but the mental kind of wearing, where the body had energy but the mind was ready to call it quits.
Mal stabbed at a wing-- and let out a short breath as he missed it entirely. It was a short huff of frustration, nothing else.

Cat continued to fight and help repair their battered defenses to the best of her abilities, now making her way towards the back of the hotel where there was more and more commotion that sought attention. As she approached the rear of the hotel a worn door's middle shattered as a bird burst through into the hall. Unprepared for the sudden appearance of the monster, cat cried out and missed her opportunity to hit the blasted thing entirely. She cursed under her breath as she made her way after the bird, things really were falling apart back here.
