"Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"He could feel his steps unconsciously slowing as he neared the Tofu shop, sensing something dangerous nearby as he did. If there was an uncomfortable reality to be found in the place where the Investigation Team's Support Idol lived, he had to find out what it was...but at the same time, he didn't want to see it. Though he slowed, he did not stop...even when he heard the clanging of furniture and random metallic objects crashing to the floor on the inside of the shop. It was plain from the sounds of the grunting, the heavy breathing, that this wasn't Rise or her grandmother. They were gone...either they had already left, or worse...and the thought of the latter filled his heart with an anger that threatened to consume him, that spurred him to round the corner more quickly now, to rush up the small stair in the front of the shop and stand in the broken doorway, staring down the horde of foes standing inside ransacking what had once been a place of business, a place with wonderful memories for him. And their presence defiled those memories, threatened to replace them with a scene of horror inside of his mind. He raised his weapon and the first devil that turned his way lost its head without so much as a word. The second turned and found its upper torso split from its body, and as its squeals of pain alerted the other demons there was a whirlwind of silver hair and silver steel in the room, hacking them to pieces as the blood pooled on the floor of the Tofu Shop beneath his feet.
His ashen eyes reflected a watery fear, but at the same time, a merciless anger. Each devil in the room that approached him died in short order, an instinct to fight, to defeat these rancid foes, and to protect what was precious to him...what might have already been lost...drove him to do so until there were no enemies left remaining. Body parts ringed the floor around his feet. His weapon and his clothes were bathed in the black blood of the demons. But for all of his fighting and all of his pain, there was no sign of Rise in this Shop anymore. Either she was gone...or she was gone. And no matter how many demons he killed, there was nothing that could change the latter.Quote: 67 Tokens

 Nekura MyonmuNekura woke up from his nap, glancing around to see...a pack of ravenous, bloodthirsty demons.
"So soon?" he mused, clenching his fists as he pushed to his feet. "Alright...But i'm groggy so.."
Flames roared to life around him, as Flameis joined at his side, and Aeros moved to his other side.
"I'm not really in a mood to fight completely fair."
There were various surges of energy, and the boy tore through the crowd in moments, glancing around.

"Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"Bodies were laid at his feet, but he paid them no mind. A thought came to his mind as he lingered, remembering moments spend with Rise and their first meeting right here in the Tofu Shop itself, and before he could second guess himself his feet were slowly carrying him towards the stairs and the rooms that lay at the top of the shop. In the past, he had been up there more than once visiting Rise...mostly when her grandmother wasn't home, spending intimate and gentle moments together talking, relaxing, getting to know one another even better than they had in their time together in the Investigation Team's adventures. Even though time and distance had driven them somewhat apart, that affection had never faded between them. He cared about her, as a friend, a teammate, someone who had been there for him and wept for him in his weakest and darkest moments. He couldn't hear the dull thud of his footfalls as he ascended the stairs, and barely registered the few demons that had been hiding at the top of the stairs trying to ambush him...only cut them down mechanically as he moved, leaving more bodies in his wake as he came to the door that he recognized as hers. Rise...she wasn't behind this door, but what if...there was something of her there. A remnant...clothes, blood...worse...
He shuddered and thought about turning back...but he didn't. Instead, his hand raised to the door and he pushed it open slowly, stepping beyond the threshold to see if what lay beyond was the image of a passing daydream...or the result of one of his worst nightmares.Quote: 77 Tokens

"Beelzebub...Handle it." she called out, the large fly demon emerging from her phone. In mere moments, darkness, and death energy started to tear through them, giving her all the pause she'd need for her quick draw to help finish off the stragglers. She sheathed her blade, and exhaled...Glancing around the area.
"I hope I find someone else soon.." she called quietly to herself, looking a bit worried. What good would all of her power be, if there was no one to help with it? Though, that skeletal demon loomed overhead...As if warning anyone to challenge it. A warning that people were..bound to ignore. "Come." he called out, the demons emerging from their hiding places. He had sensed them a while ago, but it only felt right to address them...Around now. When he had the space to dart around, and otherwise go wild.
The boy grinned fiercely, before the rain of elements came down again..And he fought off the horde with his fists again...More than a few burns marring his body.
"Tch....Well, at least nobody else got involved." he thought out loud, starting back down the area, now that it was clear of demons...

Would the fighting here ever end? Yes. Anytime soon though? No, probably not. Knowing that all too well, Yuuki did her best to keep her sanity in check and pace herself through this whole ordeal. Luckily her next fight was a small one, therefore easier. I need to push myself more though... I need to get stronger. The girl thought to herself, before proceeding to find her next stepping stone.

She was on her way to face what seemed to be a giant floating jellyfish with a crown and a fine mustache, when she caught a fancy clothes wearing skeleton trying to sneak up behind her to presumably posses her. "I've never been yelled at like this before..." The demon responded in a surprising thick Spanish accent (something really if at all heard in Japanese), as a couple of blushies (somehow) appeared on his bony cheeks. "I shall fight for you! I could take down anything!" "Uuugh..." The door's hinges squeaked as he slowly pushed it open, the horror of what he might find making it swing even more slowly before him. But he was in no hurry, yet he also felt the need to rush and know what lay beyond. He was in an emotional limbo from which there was only one escape: the truth. But knowing the truth was just as likely to break him to pieces as it was to heal any part of his fretful mind right now. Still, he had to know, and the door finally opened to reveal the familiar, feminine landscape of her room...just the way that it had been left when last he was here save for a single picture...framed and set upon the dresser by her bedside. There was no blood, no gore, no sight that the girl that had once inhabited this room had been here at all in any time in the last few days, and knowing that at least made him breathe out a sigh of relief. Though where she had gone...or if something had happened nearby, in another city, those were questions he didn't have the answers for. They hadn't spoken in two days now, since he'd run into her at school and had a short talk about meeting again soon, discussing some of the lingering feelings between them, their situation with Yukiko now that he and Rise were no longer officially together...even if his feelings for her hadn't quite gone away and hers certainly hadn't faded for him. They needed to make peace with where they were going...with their relationship until now, and where it might go in the future, for better or worse, and they were going to do that...until she had been called out for a job. She'd been forced to leave the city temporarily, and they were going to meet again...today, if he recalled. Or, well, the day that he had gone into the 'sleep' that the Red Viper had tried to place him in to protect him.
...Had Rise been chosen as well? To survive, to brave this new world? Would she survive out there without him, despite how resolute and tough she had become? He moved to her bedside and breathed in that familiar scent...his lips curled into the faintest of smiles as he recognized a gift he'd bought her, a plush Jack Frost doll, sitting prominently in the front of several that she owned. That had been a good day. A really good day. His eyes turned then and at last, returned to the photograph that he lifted...and gazed upon it...
And as he did, his smile both broke a little wilder and threatened to just break.
...It was the last picture they had taken together, privately...the day before he had left Inaba, thinking he would be gone forever (or at least until he could visit months or years later). She was clutched close to his side as they shared a small meal at the Steak Skewer place next to Aiya's, the first ever spot they went on one of their outings together. She was smiling so beautifully in that picture...and in that moment, even though they were going to be separate for a while, they had known that they would always be together.
...
Only they weren't. Not now. Not 7 days ago. ...His heart broke a little as he remembered the way that she had kissed him forever before they finally went separate ways that night. How she'd blushed and told him that she would always love him. And she did, even to this day...she was as true to her word as always, to her heart...and he...
He choked a little...bringing a hand to his mouth to stifle a gag.
"Gods...my shadow...he laughed at me over this," he remembered harshly, whispering quietly to himself as he fought back his anger, "I really can be the worst...can't I?"
...
He was locked into that thought when the sound of thundering footsteps down the hall alerted him to an intruder. The Big Boss, he imagined, but he wasn't in the mood to greet him. This was one of the devils on the list, he noticed as soon as he laid eyes on this thing that lumbered closer...perhaps upset that it had been robbed of so many lustfully bloodthirsty minions. Soji stood, silent again, and wiped away the pain that stained his face.

Today, just today, he would let this demon feel the extent of his anger...and his pain.

Youmu KonpakuYoumu directed her Angels towards the Horde...and in a flash, it had dispersed......Blades of Heaven, and glows of light overcoming the shadowy demons that had gathered around.
She wasn't sure where she was going at this point, only that she was letting her feet carry herself...Wherever she went.
'I wonder where Senpai is.' she thought, lightly. 'And..Where's Ellie?'
They were two of her friends in this new town....And she lightly bit her lip at thinking of them. She knew Nekura was around, but Ellie...
'Even...the fox woman..' she thought lightly, remembering her teasing visage. 'Arimina...Did she make it out okay?'
The girl felt uncomfortable around her, but at the same time...She felt uneasy in general. Perhaps the calm before the storm to her..? Something she didn't want to think about...happening to those important to her.

"Hard to believe..this is Inaba." he thought out loud, tossing the skull aside. "Has it really only been a week of destruction?"
He felt...uneasy knowing that the world had fallen apart like this, so thoroughly in such a short time.....But, at the same time, with powers like the Summoning app loose...and things like the Trumpeter still around..
'I suppose...there really are some terrifying monsters out there.' he thought with a closed, introspective glance. He eventually opened his eyes again, and paced around the area, humming quietly.

Youmu KonpakuAnother Horde...Another blast of energies....and another cleanup. The girl didn't even have to draw her blade this time, Beelzebub taking care of all matters of the battle. She felt relieved...but, at the same time, disappointed?
'That makes me sound like a blood knight.' she thought, trying to shake the thought away...before feeling the familiar sensation of falling over her. 'Maybe...there's someone in another town...Someone who could use my help.'
Or maybe...one of her old friends. She was in Iwatodai when things went down...So, it wouldn't be unheard of for someone to be elsewhere. Yeah..that was it.
