Whilst Third might not have been into the horror genre prior to Day Zero, he most certainly had enjoyed the occasional dystopian novel. It was entirely something else, mind, to find himself smack-dab into the middle of it. Well, at least this was an answer to the question he'd tried to ask earlier.

He clicked his tongue unhappily as they fastened the collar around his neck. Oh yeah, this was going real ******** swell. There was no easy out for this, and Third really hated the way that his hands were shaking, visible weakness, which he did not have time for. This was not his type of game and he was torn between the impulse to scream in frustration and wordless protest...and punch the nearest jackass in mindless rage.
Somehow he managed to do neither.

She had been sitting quietly with her group, watching and listening to the other university students, when she felt someone brush against her with a whistle. They disappeared quickly into the crowd from what she could tell, so Ruia hadn't really been able to get a good luck at them. When she realised her pocket was heavier, however, she debated rushing off to attempt it anyway, however unwise an idea that might be. She could afford to be a bit unwise, though. In her palms, after she had a moment to count it out, was the exact amount she still needed to get the collar off of her neck. She stared at it in disbelief as a feeling of giddy excitement rose in her chest. The grin it brought to her face was broad, and she had quietly and quickly excused herself to hand over the coin--and the collar--before going back to where she'd been. She felt lighter than ever, and it wasn't just because of the physical weight she was no longer carrying. If she ever found whomever it was that had given her those coins, there would be no way she could thank them enough.
But she'd try. Oh, she'd try.

When they clamped the collar around her neck, Charlotte made a noise like a cat being sprayed by a hose. This thing completely negated the positive spiritual energy of her charms. Also, it might have been filled with explosives? But she didn't need some clunky metal contraption on her when she tried to commune with the stars.
Damn these capitalist Illuminati dragon worshippers. Now she'd never get the cure done in time!
