Argyle scowled at the Carbink as it floated up. Why must he continuously encounter overgrown paperweights and knickknacks. Was this an island filled with Pokemon or gaudy souvenirs. Why this thing had even gone and scuffed his shoe, something he'd only discovered looking down. Did it understand how hard it was to properly polish a shoe? Granted this entire island had already ruined much of his appearance so why not his shoes as well! Granted he had stepped on it's head.....and throw a rock at that Magby....and stepped on a Darumaka....and there were the Nosepass. Why did everything he do here seem to involve rocks and stepping on things.
While Argyle was contemplating this Jekyll would take the time to blow a raspberry at the Carbink, saying in a rather snotty tone of voice ">Why don't ya make us ya garish bauble! You can't even make up what you are! You're a rock, a crystal, and a floofy.....whatever that is<" The Croagunk said, gesturing wildly to whatever the white bits around its.....neck(?)....were.
With Jekyll taking care of the banter or so he assumed, Argyle would struck with a thought. Just how much were those crystals work exactly. "Of course we'd have to kill it to find out...." He'd mutter, just loud enough to be heard.
Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M] Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 4 [Temperament] Naughty Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.
Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard. Alice was so surprised that she didn't even bother trying to dodge the water. Instead, she double over in a fit of giggles, trying not to sneeze. This water was so weird! The texture felt so much different than anything from the tap or the beach. "Nice shot!" she cheered the Shelmet.
Vorpal, by contrast, was deeply annoyed. Shaking of his banner, he'd approach the Shelmet irritably. >Apologize, or we fight,< he growled, one eye focused on his new enemy.
Of all the answers they may have been expecting, the one they received was probably the least likely. Bursting from the water the Shelmet would actually plant it's lips upon the Honedge as if giving it a kiss, but it would only take a few seconds for the ghost to realize what was going on. This thing was no better than a blood sucking parasite, and with it's lips upon the blade it was trying to siphon what life force the Honedge still carried! It was a Leech Life attack!

A cooing squawk would be Jin-hua's first warning of trouble this time. It would seem they'd managed to walk straight into another bird's territory. Though as she'd look up, she'd find that multiple sets of eyes were now upon her. It was an entire flock of Pidove, and they didn't seem happy. A few moments later, as the angry cooing of the various Pidove would settle down, the largest among them would flutter down and into the grass. ">We coo-coo-kill you. Feed many chicks!<" Welp they had their answer as to what this was all about at least....
The noise caught the Houndour's attention as he slowly gazed upward. There were multiple pokemon among the trees from the various eyes visible. Ugh. Why were there so many pokemon in this forest? The Houndour growled and then barked at the Pidove. If he could defeat the leader, it would be possible to try and leave unscathed. With that being said, he charged immediately leaping into a Rage attack! He would need all the power he could get to fight this one!

[CRITICAL! +1 to Pidove's Defense Rolls!]
A few light flaps of it's wings and the Pidove would rise above the Houndour's attack, but he wasn't going to just end it there! Spreading his wings wide the Pidove would use the weight oh his large chest muscles to propel himself froward at greater speed. Gravity and aerodynamics at work the Pidove's feathers would begin to shimmer like metal in the sun. It wasn't the best attack to use against a Fire-type but this bird had a point to prove. With 'sword' in 'hand' the brave avian hero could defeat a beast even from the darkest pits of hell! Shifting to the Houndour's left side the Pidove aimed to slash him across the flank with Steel Wing!

The Carbink narrowed its eyes. >I am a Carbink,< it announced blankly, clearly not understanding Jekyll's insults. This was the first froggy-man Pokemon it'd ever seen... and it only could guess that the bizarre walking tree was a human. It had to prove itself to them! >And I will make you, if that's what you wish.< Wiggly bits rotating in annoyance, it launched itself forward at the Croagunk in a Tackle!

"Hehehe... Vorpal, be careful!" Alice managed between fits of giggles. She knew that this was a battle, but it was hard to take sure a sweet kissy-face seriously!
Feeling mildly betrayed by his trainer's laughter and more that a little horrified by the amorous Shelmet, Vorpal attempting to push the Shelmet away from his blade. >I AM FLATTERED BUT I AM CURRENTLY BUSY SO IF YOU COULD NOT--" the Honedge wailed as he swatted at the bug with his cloth.
Falling off like a poorly licked suction cup, the Shelmet would plop back down into the water, only the barest hint of a tiny green bubble of energy entering her mouth. For all her enthusiasm it would seem that the Shelmet's 'affections' hadn't been particularly effective. Still that was neither here nor there as now it was time for defense! With this very thing in mind the Shelmet would clamp herself shut, her metal body surprisingly floating in the water rather than sinking.

This was a rather tedious battle, as Kiani was coming to learn. For the barboach was continuing to use whirlpool. However, soon the whirlpool lost power and the barboach started to flail about madly, like it was having a seizure. "Jeez, Korbin, try to avoid it." Kiani said. She had watched her brother get a black eye from a splashing magikarp once, so she knew Korbin could possibly take damage from the wild flailing of the barboach.
Once its flailing was done, surprisingly allowing it to avoid the Wooper's acid spray, it would once more dip into the water and began swimming in circles, generating another Whirlpool as it picked up speed. Would the Wooper become trapped again, or would it somehow avoid this turn of events?
Eyes locking with that of the Carbink as it made it's challenge the boy would take a step back the same instant that Jekyll would leap forward. Seeing as they were standing on a rock there wasn't much space for the boy to avoid the clash but he had a feeling that Jekyll would be more than capable of driving this creature back. "Lets start this right. Mud-slap" The boy commanded. It was a move they'd used quite a bit today and to great effect....so why change what wasn't broken? Besides he could tell by this things appearance it was at least half Rock-type. If it wasn't he was a Mankey.
Snicking slightly the boy's Croagunk would declare ">SPIT-SHINE!....or is that spit-blemish?<" He belatedly pondered, the thoughtful look on his face disappearing in only a few seconds ">No matter! Time to make a mess!<" With glee in his voice and a spring in his step, Jekyll would scoop up the nearest clod of dirt....which thankfully was not a rock in disguise, and shoved it into his mouth. Swirling it around a bit he'd then spit it into his palm before making a leaping pass at the Carbink. It was time for another Ditch Slap across the face!

The Rage missed completely. The Houndour was left almost falling over before regaining his balance. The crazed look in his gaze vanished and he was able to think accordingly. It was the beginning of battle so the Rage hadn't tried to take complete control....yet. Instead he tried to do a new maneuver. Running straight towards the Pidove, he tried to do a barrel roll and slide underneath to cause the pokemon to miss!

Kiani hopped back a few steps as the barboach stopped flailing. Korbin had managed to avoid being smacked in the face by their opponent, but in his haste to avoid being hit, he wasn't paying attention to his feet. Kiani hoped that he wouldn't be pulled into the whirlpool that barboach was creating this time. "Use acid spray again." Kiani commanded. Korbin followed instructions well, shooting acid at barboach.

(13-4)+(11-16) = 4 x 2 = 8 DMG! Carbink is at 11 HP!
The Carbink reeled backwards, little antennae flailing in horror. It hadn't done too much damage, but it more than enough to upset and annoy it. >You're disgusting,< he asserted to Jekyll, light-colored eyes locked on his opponent. >What's next, vomiting on me?< It shuddered delicately before hunkering down in annoyance. He'd attempt to tank the hit-- after all, he was a rock, and with rockiness came a decent defense.
