He carefully steps around the rubble in the street as he follows her. When they get to the tree, he stands a little way away, choosing not to sit. When she asks the new question, he answers, pretending it was the only question asked. βI have lived here for about five years. Ever since I left my hometown.β He says as he takes another slow scan of the street, before turning and noticing her heavily bruised arm. He crouches down, more of his cape getting dirty, to take a closer look. βThat looks pretty bad. Do you want me to help you to the hospital?β The cheerful tone is partially gone, mixing with what could be concern. His eyes are focused on the bruising, their normally playful shiny glint gone, replaced with an intent focus.

Rowan blinked before tilting her head. It was obvious he was avoiding the question. The woman wasn't stupid, at least. He dodged it by explaining how long he had lived in Karakura Town. So he hadn't been around too long. It was odd that she hadn't seen him around at all. She mentally shrugged to herself before looking to her arm and shaking her head. "I'll be fine. It's just a bruise. It will heal on it's own. The real concern is...well...if whatever caused the destruction happens again."
Rowan then would move to sit down up under the tree and sighed. The one thing she was really worried about was her students that went to the school she worked at. The librarian may not have been a teacher, but she still cared about the children to say the least.

What did this is gone.β He says quietly and comfortingly, before realizing he said that out loud and giving a slight startle. He quickly changes topics. βLooks like you need a place to stay. Your house is not in a livable condition. You could stay in my hotel room and I just book another one to stay in until you can find a permanent place to stay.β He holds out an arm to help her up. βBut even if it is just a bruise, with what your house looks like, it could be worse than it looks. You should really go to a hospital or clinic and make sure you donβt have any sort of internal injuries.β

Rowan nodded slowly, agreeing to his statement. At least the things were gone, whatever it was, that caused the incident. As he mentioned needing a place to stay, the woman frowned a bit. She would definitely need to get a new house. Perhaps that was a good thing. Ro always wanted a bigger place anyway. "I...can get my own place. Thank you, though."
She took his arm and stood, letting out a soft sigh. "I am fine. I got out in enough time that I didn't actually get hurt. I fell running down the stairs to actually get out." The young woman hummed softly. "But why are you in a hotel? Where is your normal house?"

Reitsu 100 | Speed 30 | Strength 3 | Defense 10 | Stamina 10 | Intelligence 24 | Spiritual Power 20 "I don't have a normal house. I have been living in the hotel since I moved here. Pretty much renting it like an apartment by now." Suri replies in an offhand manner, as if the topic is unimportant. He maintains steady eye contact with the dark bruise on her arm. He isn't sure she doesn't need at least a checkup after being in a collapsing house, but he won't push it any further. "How long have you been living here?" He asks cheerfully, looking up at Rowan, a smile on his face, his silvery blue eyes sparkling again. A slight wind flutters his coat, cape, and tie. "Actually, on second thought, before we talk more, how about we move to somewhere with less rubble. I believe most of the destruction is in the center of town, with a couple of areas like this also destroyed, given where the smoke rose at." And where those Hollows were, he thinks. "I know the owner of a cafe on the edge of town, it should be far enough out of the way to be fine."

Rowan blinked. He didn't have a house? And rented a hotel room as an apartment? How strange of a man he was. This just interested the young woman more. She could tell he was still staring at her bruise, which was all right...she guessed. It hurt still, but she knew it wasn't going to kill her. It was just a really bad mark on her arm that could take a few days to heal. Perhaps a few weeks at the most. A lot of people who were clumsy enough tended to get them too. "I've lived here pretty much my entire life." She replied lightly as her pale cheeks flushed a bit, smiling slightly as well.
What he said made sense. She didn't enjoy being around all the destruction. In fact, it just made things more complicated for her since she could see the spirits of everyone who passed away from the incident. It was something that saddened her a bit. "Sure....I would like that. Well, other than the fact that I am still in my pajamas...but oh well." She looked down at her clothing. They were pink with rabbits on them. "But I am sure he would understand since...well..."

She blushed a bit, rolling her eyes. "Thanks...I suppose." Rowan then huffed, moving to look away from him for a moment. He spoke, holding out his jacket and cape. He was being so kind to help her cover up. "Thanks..." She blinked before taking it, wrapping the jacket around her slowly. The woman gave a nod before following him slowly, making sure not to trip on anything.
"You are very kind. Thank you so much for...helping me." Rowan said lightly, blushing a bit more. This was the first time a guy actually was nice with her. In fact...the only people or beings who had been nice to her were spirits. Right now, this person was physical and with her in this moment.

Reitsu 100 | Speed 30 | Strength 3 | Defense 10 | Stamina 10 | Intelligence 24 | Spiritual Power 20 He is slightly taken back by the thanks. βWell it is only right to help someone in need. And seeing as the amount damage to the street around here is quite severe, as well as the damage to your house, there is no way in good conscience I could just leave you alone. Even if β¦β He cuts off the sentence suddenly. That isnβt something he is willing to tell someone he just met. Yeah, like the just met part matters. That is something that he hasnβt told anyone. He gives an internal sigh with that. He leads her through the various streets until they pass a particularly destroyed house. He stops and stares at the front of the house where a kid sits. A kid with a chain coming from his chest.

Rowan smiled a bit, looking up at him gently. "You...aren't used to being thanked...are you?" She asked softly as they continued walking along the path he was leading her. However, his open statement got her slightly curious as to what he was going to say. Even if what? The woman was about to question his words when they stopped in front of a destroyed home, her eyes looking in the direction Suri seemed to be staring at. There on the porch was a young child with a chain sitting on the steps. Rowan frowned a bit, slowly pulling away from Suri and walking over.
"You poor dear..." Rowan spoke softly, moving to sit upon the step with the spirit. "You were unfortunate....weren't you?"
The child sniffled slightly, looking towards Rowan silently. It seemed frightened as to why it was...well...like this. Her eyes then went to Suri, filled with sorrow. This was always hard, but hopefully they would be able to help the child cross over.

He looks at her with a confused expression on his face. βWhy do you look so sad all of a sudden? Did you know the people who lived here or something? And why are you talking to thin air?β There is a slightly nervous tone to his voice that is just barely noticeable. He is clearly avoiding talking about something, as he reaches into the rubble and pulls out a teddy bear, placing it within easy reach of the spirit, but acting like he was just pulling it out of the wreckage.

The spirit watched Suri as he stepped around it, tilting it's head. Even Rowan seemed confused as the male spoke. "You stopped and looked at this house....did you really not see the spirit here?" She asked softly, watching him still as he finds the teddy bear and sets it close to the spirit. "The child who passed? Do you really not see it?" The woman then frowned before looking to the spirit. "Sweetheart....this plane of existance is no longer for you. There is something much better. I promise."
The spirit seemed to sniffle and start crying. It was obvious that it did not wish to leave. "Your parents are there, I am sure...they were also within the house when it collapsed right?" The child slowly nodded, looking to Rowan. "Then you should join them...it will be safer there."

Reitsu 100 | Speed 30 | Strength 3 | Defense 10 | Stamina 10 | Intelligence 24 | Spiritual Power 20 βI see no child. Are you sure you didnβt hit your head?β Concern enters his voice, but it is slightly off from the genuine concern he showed earlier. βI was staring because I thought I saw some valuables in the rubble. And since the dead need not their earthly possessions anymore, why not give them new use through myself?β He nudges the bear even closer to the child with his foot as he talks so that it flops into the childβs lap as he cried. βHowever, if there was a dead child here, whose parents were also dead, it would be best if they moved on. The afterlife is quite wonderful from what I hear, as well as being reunited with family. Ugh, need to rest my legs for a bit.β He proceeds to sit, and as he does so his hand slowly brushes against the top of the childβs head as if by accident, giving an imperceptible pat. βNothing good comes from sticking around in the world of the living after death. Pain, misery, loneliness. But in passing on, those fade, to be replaced with the joy and companionship of those who went before you.β He stretches and casually places a reassuring hand on the childβs shoulder before continuing the motion.

Rowan would roll her eyes slightly, shaking her head. She could tell that he was lying, but perhaps he just wasn't comfortable with being open about his abilities. The woman would watch the child sniffle before moving to walk away from the two, nodding slowly. It would then disappear, as if it were passing on. "Anyway....would you want to continue to the diner? Cafe? Whatever it was?" She smiled to him then, acting like nothing happened. In fact, she moved to stand and then move away from the house. "I'll let you look around for a bit then....I suppose you are right. The dead do not need material things. But it would be sad to see it get taken if other family wish for some sort of item to keep in their memory...like jewelry..." Rowan then moved to walk down the road in the direction they were going, not even waiting for him to follow. Of course, she was moving slow in case he wished to catch up.
