@ Aelgeirr, Tafiir, Ambra, Enlak, a couple town guards, no NPC rogues, and a partridge in a pear tree:
"What's going on here?" the guard in charge would ask Aelgeirr as he approached the disarmed Eladrin, who was simply standing there in his dropped gear, and apparently some money. They glanced at the Drow'ish in the alley, and back at him, and both would point spears at him.
"Okay, you're going to need to-
But Ambra came and announced the reunion and investigation to Aelgeirr in front of the guards. They would look at one another.
"Excuse me, miss, are the two of you acquaintances? And what's this about the mayor? It this some sort of errand?"
Enlak! A new people, yay! Oh hey look, that half-drow from the deputization meeting is in that alleyway and apparently he's lost his mind.
So most of the party has been united/reunited/kind-of-ited, save for one.

@ Mercy:
"Naaah, don't be silly! You're not the type who would ever do anything like that. I can see it in your eyes," the younger priest would proclaim, smiling broadly. The older one would just sigh.
After you knock on the door, a woman clears her throat, and calls out, "Come in."
The office you enter is a fairly empty one, with a shrine to Avandra in the far end with the goddess herself watching you enter through all the mist. Wait, mist? That's not right. Haze...? Smoke!
Yeah, despite there being a window here, it is closed. You make out a tiny woman near a short desk, placing her lit pipe on an ivory holder, wisps of smoke still rising from it. She is gnomish, with blonde hair tied back in a bun. Her black eyes peered at you through the partial concealment (giving each of you -2 to your attack rolls!). "Oh! You're not one of mine! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I was not expecting a guest!"
She quickly begins to hustle towards the direction of the window, pushing a nearby stool towards that part of the wall so she would be able to reach it.

Ambra Goldstar Mage in Training
Ambra would flash Aelgeirr a look, then turn to the guards and respond cheerfully, "Why yes; we have been deputized by the mayor to investigate yesterday's attack on the town." Ambra would produce her official document and present it to the guards. She would then lean in and talk to them in a hushed voice. "I don't know if you have been briefed yet. But the Orb of Kendar has been taken from its position in the tower. We determined that the thief got in and out through some sort of sightless teleportation. Aelgeirr here was searching for any suspicious people that might have entered this town in the last few days and I believe this drow here tripped his interest. Please, if you have seen anything out of the ordinary in your rounds in the last few days, let us know. We need to resolve this issue before more people are hurt by the attacks."

'Deputies among rogues never painted a pretty picture. A rogue among deputies on the other hand...'
Mercy gave the young fool a sly wink as she entered, only to stop in her tracks as her vision (and lungs) was filled with a very familiar scene. She would say all the room needed was a courtesan, but here she was so...
"Mm, don't trouble yourself on my account. If anything can be said of the Church of Sehanine, it's certainly not that we're high on pomp and formality. Whether we're high on other things, well... we'll see after I spend a few minutes in here." she responded, steeling herself against whatever the substance was and entering properly, arms held wide in her usual busty greeting, though with the size difference she was likely to smother the smaller woman in her chest this time. Not that she seemed to notice.
"Greetings~! I am Mercy Vondervelde, an Avenger of Sehanine, recently deputized by your lovely mayor to help investigate the recent tragedy and protect the town from further harm. I was wondering if you could spare a moment to help."

@ Mercy:
Passive Perception sez: Nope! Tobacco smoke!
"Huh. An Avenger? Of Sehanine? How unusual..." She would muse to herself for but a moment after the hug, and reflect more on that matter. "Normally, you'd expect most to be followers of Bahamut or Kord, but all the ones I've met seem to follow the Raven Queen....."
She ceases her efforts to get to the window, and instead, returns to her desk. Ascending what you suspect is a tiny staircase she has on the other side, she blows out the cinders in her pipe to extinguish it. "It's fine, I was simply in meditation and prayer with Avandra for guidance. I can spare a moment for a fellow church-goer, but I'm afraid not much more than a moment. I'm going to have my hands full today, as you might expect." Taking her seat, she would fold her hands on the oversized desk.
"My name is Clearwyn Sannersun. How can the church of Avandra assist you today?"
--------------------
@ Everyone else:
The guards would look at the papers, then back at Ambra, then to Enlak and Aelgeirr.
"Uh... not... not anything regarding teleportation. We're basically looking for suspicious individuals now. This is the first suspicious lot we've found so far today, though..."
Aelgeirr! Your inventory may be re-added to your character sheet!
Tafiir! You're being half-ignored! Your coin from before sits on the ground still, on the street.
The guards would kind of shrug to one another at this point. "Umm... since we're basically doing the same task, it looks like you have the task in hand." The speaker would look at Tafiir muttering and rocking, and just kind of... accept it. "Carry on. We'll expand our search to a different district." And the guards would leave.

His eyes shifted over his coins, after listening to the guards walking away, as he pondered a moment grabbing them. Though, in the end he would just stand up, brushing the dirt and muck from his armor, and walk away from the group(half-way hoping they follow) and in the direction one of Spartacus made. Singing an elven lullaby in his stride...

Enlak took a moment longer to get tot he scene than the young tiefling, and he was surprised by her speed...it was impressive considering her small stature. Since she seemed to have thing in hand, the goliath didn't say a word until the guards had left. He recognized one of these odd fellows from the meeting earlier, and apparently the girl knew the other one. "It looks like you're both lucky this kid was around..." he muttered.
"I'm not a kid!" Ambra would state again angrily and give the goliath a grumpy look. She would notice the drow get up to leave but did not make any attempt to follow him. Instead she would turn to Aelgeirr and ask, "What was that all about?"
She then remembered the towering figure beside her, and motioned to the eladrin. "Oh, this is Aelgeirr, my teammate." Ambra would then turn back to Aelgeirr and motion to the goliath." Aelgeirr, this is... well, he hasn't told me his name yet, but he is here to help. Apparently the Mayor deputized some other adventurers beside us. We just came from the towers and learned that someone had used teleportation to get in and out of the tower within the last day or so."

"....and everyone thought "Eladrin" for some reason?" Aelgeirr muttered as he examined the catches on his armor, to see if they still worked. "I had a mind to check out what existed of the seedy underbelly of this village. The dökkálfr is either tracking the orb of kendar for his own reasons or is mad. Got me."
"An Avenger of Love! It fits more than you might think. One of Sehanine's defining precepts is, 'Follow your goals and seek your own destiny, and let nothing tie you down!' Thus it was my destiny to wander the lands and strike down anything that dares befoul love in all its myriad, beautiful forms!" she explained, though it was likely unneeded.
With practiced grace she accepted the seat that wasn't offered (if there was one anyway), unlatching the axe once more and placing it gently by her side as she sat across from the High Priestess, folding her hands neatly in her lap. "Well, simply put, the Orb of Kendar has been stolen. I believe you are perhaps in the best position to help us find it. Churches have a funny way of loosening tongues, and Avandra does have a way with fortunate timing. If you hear anything about the theft, however indirectly, please send word to me. Secondarily, I thought you might be the most likely to know who the town prostitutes are. I would like to use them for precisely the same task. With a proper blanket of information and some goddess-given luck, we should be able to track down the thief in no time. I only pray we manage it before anyone else gets hurt... or worse. There will be another attack tonight if we cannot manage it today, you can count on that."

@ Tafiir:
You break away to start following the others you were chatting with earlier, though they have a head start on you. You won't immediately catch up with them, but you would eventually find your way to a storm cellar of an unmarked building - if you wish to descend, that is. That's where you think the path led you.
--------------------
@ Ambra, Aelgeirr, Enlak:
The half-drow gets up and wanders off! He doesn't even make an effort to be sneaky about it either! If any of you care to follow him, you can, no roll needed.
If not, where do the three of you wish to go?
--------------------
@ Mercy:
Clearwyn would frown slightly. "Well... I can at least offer you a, 'We'll try,' she would say, gesturing with one hand. "But the church of Avandra's official stance in face of this crisis has to be support and religious aid to the citizens and travelers currently in the city. Though I don't have this on any official word, shouldn't Mayor Liartes be having her militia mobilized and searching for it? They're bound to have answers before we happen across it 'by chance'," the priestess would say coldly.
She would let out an audible sigh, which cleared a bit of smoke from around her face. "You're an acolyte avenger, I take it? This lesson shouldn't be coming from the priestess of another church, but... divine intervention doesn't particularly work that way. With devout of Avandra, we are encouraged to make our own luck, not to simply rely on chance. If my goddess wished for the matter to simply be resolved, she would make it so. But the world is large, and the multiverse larger still; it would be hubris to think her attention is solely focused on this town."
She would frown and lower her head. "I was only promoted to High Priestess a month ago, I haven't quite yet developed the same altarside manner as Tarok, the old High Priest who passed away, did. I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to hear..."
"As for your other request, our church isn't in the business of divulging information about any of our parishioners that they might have informed us about under confidence. So out of principle, I couldn't tell you. Perhaps where you might look, but frankly, there's only one place they would be considering the events of last night." Clearwyn would pause. "Their homes. I'm doubtful that even if any of them wished to ply their trade, they'd be very successful."
Clearwyn would move to get out of the chair, and approach Mercy. She would reach up to take the girl's larger hands in her own. "Mercy Vondervelde, Avenger of Sehanine, I bestow my blessing on you, in hopes that it'll expedite the resolution of this crisis. Avandra teaches us that fortune favors the bold, so if I am to remain true to my goddess, I will have faith that you can resolve this with your own eyes, ears, and hands, rather than those of others."
She would give Mercy's hands a squeeze, before letting go. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I do have a disaster relief to manage, my sister."

"Mistress Sannersun, you surprise me." she stated, sounding precisely so; shocked. She shifted in her seat a bit as if to get up, but remained seated for the moment, deciding that it might be more respectful in this case not to tower above the priestess. "I know this may not mean much coming from a mere acolyte, but surely you must see the folly in that reasoning. How is waiting for the militia to resolve the matter any different from waiting for Divine Intervention? If Lady Liartes was confident she could handle the matter on her own would she not have abstained from inducting complete strangers into the investigation? What I aim to accomplish is precisely to create our own luck. A blanket of information involving all of Clearwell's occupants - wittingly or otherwise - that will bring us to our culprit far faster than any one woman or party or militia could accomplish on their own. Creating luck is a matter of stacking the odds in our favor, and those sound like much better odds to me."
She shook her head and gave an almost pleading chuckle, "What better way to support your people than to help resolve this crisis before anyone else is hurt or killed? It does not have to be an official stance, nor I think should it be, but please consider making it a priority. You may already know something that could help point us in the right direction. Rumors within the church, or a suspicious confession just before the theft. It is precisely for these reasons that I wish to speak with those artists. Not for what they might find out, but for what they already know. My kind have a particular way of discovering secrets. People say many things they do not realize post-coitus. It is an exercise in misguided trust, even when money is involved. One of them may hold a key piece of information for us, or perhaps even a suspect - did you know the investigation has none? You do your citizens a great disservice by holding to that principle. If even one more dies in tonight's attack, would it truly be worth it?"
It was with a heavy sigh that she finally stood and re-holstered her axe upon her back. She gave the High Priestess one last pleading look. "I was one such artist, you know. For most of my life, before Sehanine accepted me into her embrace. I know their hardships better than any ever could. They would be safe with me."

(I wanted to wait to see what everyone else did. But, I will be away from the computer 'till Sunday.) Looking around to verify if anyone followed him, If no one does,
He continued to sing as he made a small mark on the side of the storm cellar's door with his knife, and drew a small odd symbol( half Palor half Sehanine's symbols) on the ground, in hopes the other thieves would come forth and understand(that he wanted them to go to the church.) Then he proceeded to the holiest building. He would be back if they didn't...
If they do...
Tafiir continued walking in the direction of the church.
(Sorry, for shortness. Not sure if there is a roll for the first...)

Ambra Goldstar Mage in Training
Ambra looks to her other two companions. "Well it seems that Drow fellow ran off. Do you think we should follow him? you side he said something about the orb."
