Calvin sat there cooking while Ryoko had been sprawled across his lap...looking as if it was tired for some reason. Well, Ryoko never seemed like one to get really agitated when any of the other Pokémon had started to play with her. It was just like he remembered when he was just a young boy...flying around on its back just over the verdant canopy of the foretree city forest. "Are you feeling alright?" he said to her as she laid her head on his leg. Salamence looked up at him and nodded her head, an expression of delight as she looked at the food.
A few minutes passed, Ryujin and Victoria a few paces away, still enjoying their splashing escapade. It wasn't until a few minutes passed when Ryujin got up in a defensive position, along with Ryoko. Calvin wondered what was wrong until a figure emerged from the distance, his hands up in a surrendered position as if to say that he meant no harm. Ryoko went back to what she was doing before, but Ryujin remained on guard, obviously protective of Victoria. "Ryujin...stand down," he said quietly, hopefully not putting too much strain on the scarring.

Calvin was a bit upset, given that Ryujin did not exactly listen to his command. The Pokémon looked ready to attack..as if it was a proud parent protecting its child. Calvin gently slid Ryoka's head off of his leg to get up. He walked up behind Ryujin and put his hand on his shoulder as the figure in the distance drew closer. "It's okay, I will not let them harm you or Victoria if that is their intention," he said to Ryujin, reassuring him that Calvin is still indeed his trainer and would without a doubt give his life for the Pokémon if the need arose. But that was not the case here.
The figure now was close to them and Calvin could see that he was just a young boy. He was within the light of the campfire now and Calvin could see that the young boy had a few Pokéballs attached to his belt. The boy was looking for a challenge of course. "Yahoo brother! Are you a Pokémon trainer? I'm just kidding...of course you are! Do you want to have a battle?!" the young boy said with cheerful exuberance. Calvin nodded to the boy, looking towards Lupup. Lupup needed some training and this boy could prove to be a useful trainer.

Result: Calvin starts the battle with an ineffective tackle. Gigalith countered with a very hard headbutt, which proved to hurt Sauron quite a bit, but failed to flinch his next move. Sauron ended Gigalith with Dragon Rage, which ignores all type advantage/disadvantages. Sauron gains 5 exp. Calvin recalls Sauron and send Victoria back out, despite having taken damage.

Result: Calvin's Lupup finished off a low-leveled Raichu before it could land even one hit. Victoria wins the round and gains 5 exp. Calvin wins the battle! Victoria gained a total of 10 exp and Sauron gains 5 exp.

Calvin couldn't but help grin from under his bandages. But it was ephemeral and hardly noticeable. But Ryujin felt Calvin's happiness through all the bandages and laughed at him. "Don't think I did not see that," Ryujin said, the Pokémon laughing at him. Calvin brushed it off quickly and played it cool, but he couldn't help but feel some accomplishment for emerging victorious. However, the boy across from him looked a little depressed because of his loss. Calvin usually wouldn't care at all about his opponent, but refused to let someone so young get down.
"Don't be hard on yourself. Your Pokémon will grow strong the more you train. I myself have a lot of training to do as well," he said softly, trying not to strain his injuries. The boy could only give a small smile back though, as his confidence seemed to be broken. "Your Pokémon have potential to be very strong. I myself was surprised to see what kind of Pokémon you had. I didn't know Armaldo still existed." Calvin did all he could, inviting the young boy to have some of the food that he made. The boy gladly took it and sat down around the fire.
"Thanks, but I've been wondering. What is that Pokémon over there? My Pokédex told me it was a Gallade, but that one doesn't look like the pictures I've seen of it," the boy asked, pointing at the unusual dragon Pokémon.
"That is a Gallade, but it is a special Gallade. It is most likely the only one that exists in today's world. Unlike most of them, which have the fighting type, this one is a dragon. Neither him or I have figured out what exactly brought him about, but we've only been partners for six months now," he said to the other boy. The younger boy loved how it was a dragon and started to talk about how cool it was. He then bid his farewell after eating and left Calvin's company. It was nice to get to talk to someone after so long. His own mother had occasionally sent him letters, but he didn't really count that.

Calvin called Lupup over to him so he could treat her injuries. At first Lupup was hesistant, but after Ryujin's recommendations, Lupup went over to him. "Victoria, this will sting but your injuries will feel much better," he said aloud, looking to Ryujin to make sure that he communicated that to her. As Calvin tended to Victoria's wound, she wimpered a bit at the treatment. But in no time, Victoria was feeling much better. She looked up at him and licked his hand in thanks. He smiled down at Lupup, petting her. She jumped off of his lap and instantly jumped on Ryujin's shoulders.
He released all of his Pokémon from their Pokéballs so that they could eat as well. He didn't want the one kid to get scared off by the multitude of Pokémon running around. As they all came out of the ball, torchic jumped up on his shoulders and ate out of the palm of his hand. Ryoka and Maverik were resting on the ground while they ate and Sauron stayed close to Calvin, mainly because he was up next to get his injuries tended to.

As night fully ran its course, it grew chillier and chillier. The Pokémon with him had all fallen asleep, the exception being Sauron. The Pokémon had gone off and sat on a nearby stump, staring up at the moon. Calvin got up from his spot on a fallen tree log to go join Sauron. As he crawled out from under his blanket, the minor sting of the cold biting against his skin reared its ugly head. "Wow, it's cold. How do these Pokémon deal with this. I'm going to have to buy them blankets," he thought to himself as he made his way through a small bush and into the clearing Gible was in.
"Hey Sauron. You okay buddy?" he asked the Pokémon, not expecting the Pokémon to really answer. But...the Pokémon surprisingly shook his head, staring back up at the moon. "Are you still mad about your first trainer?" He asked it, hoping that he would get an answer from the Pokémon. But...the Pokémon remained still as he looked up at the moon. Calvin breathed in a sigh of disappointment, hoping the Pokémon would open up about it.
"Well...buddy, just know that you'll never feel abandoned ever again. You never deserved what that man did to you. He was a coward for that. But that's not me. Together, we'll make that man regret ever letting you go. Alright?" he said aloud to Gible confidently. It seemed that it was what Sauron needed to hear. The Pokémon nodded back at him with a smile and looked much less sad than he was much earlier.
But, it wasn't long before a Pokémon came sauntering out of the brush, calling for a battle for taking its territory?

Calvin grinned in excitement as Sauron sent the surskit away with relative ease. He wasn't as happy about the win as he was that Gible was gaining some sort of confidence. The Pokémon was starting to look like he felt he could battle. That's all he wanted for Gible now that he had a real trainer. Calvin walked up to Sauron, a happy expression attempting to break through bandages. "There you go Sauron. You're getting stronger by the second. Now, how about we teach you earthquake with this tm I have here?" Calvin asked him, holding the technical machine in his hand. Earthquake was a powerful ground attack that many ground types could learn. Maybe Sauron would like to learn the powerful attack. "Ryoka almost took down an entire gym with this attack. And I think you could definitely use it too."
Gible seemed to be excited upon hearing that it would be learning the attack. Calvin would do anything to increase Sauron's confidence after he was left to another trainer by a person that Calvin could never relate to. Ryoka was in his life for almost all of his years, speaking that she was his father's Pokémon while he was alive. So, giving up this Pokémon while the little guy was so young, Calvin could never sympathize with.

Calvin began using the technical machine to teach Sauron his new fourth move. And it didn't take that long for the Pokémon to actually learn the move. "You can't try it out though because you'll wake everyone else up. So...why don't you come to bed Sauron?" he said, Sauron shaking his head and sitting back down on the stump and looking to Calvin. Calvin couldn't help but chuckle and walked over to sit next to his Pokémon. Calvin didn't need a whole lot of sleep anyway. Now that he was a traveling trainer, there were no restrictions something like schooling would call for him to wake up early.
"You know...one day, I'll be a Pokémon Champion and you'll be a Garchomp," he said to Gible with a pet to the top of the head. One could tell that the Pokémon was starting to imagine himself as a Garchomp, judging by the expression on his face. Calvin was starting to question his decision of having a full dragon team. Well...there was Marcella and Maverick, but he knew that a fairy type pokemon that knew an ice move was a problem. But then again, Lupup was a Dragon and Fairy, much to his amazement. He would have to go to one of the library scattered across Hoenn to figure out how that came to be.

Calvin was wondering how he was going to go about doing what he desired to with Sauron. He took a few looks around at his surroundings and found pretty much nothing. But, he did find some stones laying around. "Alright, you know what I'm going to do. You see those stones? I want you to stand away from them over there. I'm going to pick up the stones and I want you to dodge them...okay?" he asked, Sauron nodding along. Calvin hoped that he knew what he said because he didn't want to get Sauron angry.
So, Calvin moved over to the stones and picked them up. He awaited Sauron to look to him before he started throwing them at him. He lightly tossed some of the rocks at him and he dodged easily enough. It wasn't until Calvin sped up a bit where Sauron started to get hit with the rocks. "Alright Sauron, focus yourself and feel the dodge. Don't think about it too much," he said, throwing the rocks hard. The first hit Gible right in the head, the Pokémon getting irritated. So did the second...and the third...and the fourth. "It's okay. You'll get it. Focus!" Calvin continued throwing the rocks at him and the more he threw, the better Gible became. It took about a half hour worth of work and Gible was dodging each of the rocks like a champ.
"There you go. Never lose focus and you'll be able to dodge attacks as well," he reassured Gible, a smile on his face as he dodged around. The grass around him rustled and Calvin stopped his training. A pokémon emerged from the brush, a little angered. He wondered if it was mad because of what Calvin was doing to his Pokémon. So, he sent out Sauron to deal with the wild attacker.

Calvin was starting to wonder if they were in some sort of Surskit nest as him and Sauron had defeated yet another Surskit. No matter what, it was good training for Sauron. He seemed like a Pokémon who was always eager for battle and loved to engage in them. It was wonderful because Calvin needed that sort of Pokémon. Ryujin was a relatively happy Pokémon and while Ryoka was a very strong dragon, she was certainly a relaxed Pokémon. And when he needed his Pokémon to soak up a big hit and have enough determination to get up and fight, Gible was probably going to be his go-to.
Little did Calvin know that one of his Pokémon had woken up while him and Gible had been training. Lupup had found them after sneaking through the bushes to get there. The little guy barked to them and ran up to Calvin and Gible, barking to the two of them and setting down aside Calvin as him and Sauron continued their rock training.

The moon was still high in the sky when Sauron and Calvin decided to sit down and have a break. They, along with their little intruder Lupup moved back to the stump in which the night had all started. It was only then did he realize the beauty of the nature around him, the water sparkling because of the Moon's beams of light reflecting off of its surface. Everything seemed to be perfect and he was glad that he actually got to spend it with his two newest Pokémon. He hoped with all of his might that this night would bring them closer.
Calvin looked to each of his Pokémon, both extremely happy and both looking up at the moon. While the moon looked amazing, he couldn't imagine why they were both looking at it with such...intrigue. "We'll share many moons like this on our journey to become the best we can be," he said to the both of them, petting each of them on the tops of their respective heads.

Calvin sat there under the stars with his two Pokémon as the two of them still remained perfectly content with looking up towards the Moon. Calvin grinned and shook his head as he got up from the stump to go fetch some edible plants from the nearby brush. He took a look around and found some berries that he believed the three of them could eat. Perfectly content with what he picked, he traveled back to his Pokémon and set the berries on the stump. "Eat up you two," he said with a small smile forming under his bandages. No one could ever tell what expressions are on his face and he hated that. He wished he could show the Pokémon how much he loved them, but he'd have to do that through actions like picking berries for them and one on one training sessions and whatnot like what he was doing.
What he didn't notice was yet another Pokémon finding its way into the vicinity, donning an aggressive face. Maybe Calvin took his berries. But he called upon Lupup to take on the intruder.
