Plant 7

Native to the southwestern united states, as well as Mexico and parts of south America, this plant is has caused much of the world to become addicted to it, and indeed some of its chemicals used as pesticide might be a huge factor in the declining bee population (Bees are awesome and give us most of our food so don’t go cheering) . In high doses this can become hallucinogenic, and it was often used by experienced shaman or medicine men, and the exhaled smoke of this was believed of carrying one’s thoughts and prayers to heaven. Oddly enough, this plant shows a form of communication as well: one of their pollinators is a moth that also lays its eggs on it. If one of these plants shows distress from being eaten by caterpillars, it releases a scent and the plant, others of the same species nearby, all switch from night-blooming to a different shaped day time bloom, and get pollinated by hummingbirds instead, the Moth no longer able to find it.
