He had poked her but he certainly hadn't expected Riyo to fall over. Stopping mid step Titus stared down at the ghoul a little awkwardly not even taking the time to help offer her a hand up. No, he just decided it was best to stare.
"Did you slip booze into your drink or what?"

Hel felt a disturbance in the force...that wasn't Mac NO-ing her. Yet. It was another disturbance. She caught Junko looking at her from inside the auditorium.

"Yes, I remember the err, fires. And the chandelier. Gnome-run, wasn't it?" Property damage aside, Barth remembered having a pleasant time.
Barth ducked his chin at the emotional allowance, and rested his cheek against Zar's.
His own feelings, as they were wont to do, mellowed gradually.
"Sometimes, things work out on their own with a dedicated application of time and avoidance.

"I'm thinking of cutting it again," he teased, grinning down at her, sharp teeth catching the light and flashing. Of course he didn't mean it, probably. He was getting used to it longer, it tied back easier and kept out of his face, and, bonus, his ghoulfriend loved it. He would need a really good reason to go back to short hair, and thus far one did not exist. The mention of a wedding dress had the ghost looking up, brows creased, and fairly startled. For a moment he gaped at the reaper, hands tight on Junkos. Then he was straightening up, head turning away from the wedding dress to look out into the room until he spotted a side door. "Hey." Voice soft, and maybe a tiny bit off, he nodded his head towards the door and gave her hand a gentle tug. "Come with me a minute? I got something for you." The smile he turned down to her was warm, adoring, and he took a step in the direction of the exit, waiting for her to fall into step beside him.

The fall had hurt, but it took her a few moments to react. "Ow." She yawned, groggily sitting up... and then drooping forward. "Booze doesn't make me this sleepy." Riyo tried to defend, rubbing her eyes again to try and wake up. "Aw man... I ruined the dance." Not that she had been dancing that much in the first place, but it had actually been something she was looking forward to.
While sulking/sleeping, the demoness neglected to take into consideration that she was sitting on a dance floor, and feet were moving. One foot in particular just happened to land on her tail.
Which caused her to screech and leap up like a bat out of hell. Her eyes were suddenly wide and bewildered as she grasped her slightly bent appendage with a careful touch. Oh dear sweet Sally had that hurt! "******** ******** ******** ********!" Awake. She was awake now. Awake and in a lot of pain.

Junko caught Hel's look and she just laughed, grinning at the valkyrie. It was a nice dress! She approved. But she couldn't possibly miss Seiji's reaction to her pointing out Hel's dress. She blinked and looked down at their hands and then up at Seiji's face. He wasn't looking Hel's way, in fact it seemed he was making a point to look away from Hel. ..Was he okay? "Uh, sure." Junko did indeed fall easily into step beside him, still holding his hand and giving it a squeeze. "Everything all right?"

He could see Riyo struggling to move or at least get up. Titus was starting to wonder if she was just going to nod off on the dance floor but suddenly the ghoul was up and screeching. It took him a moment to realize what happened but her holding her tail was a pretty good clue. Detective work at its finest. " Maybe you should....sit down.." He tried to shoo her in the direction of a table and on the way managed to spot Hel. Hel in a completely different outfit than she had arrived in. " What in Jack's name are you wearing?" Zar nodded. "Yes. It was." There was a twisting tangle of complicated guilty emotions and something that was almost regret but not quite, that seemed to widen out into the very opposite of regret.
The contact, every bit of it was like sparks of electricity across his skin, dancing in his highly sensitive nerves and almost overwhelming his train of thought. It was comfort, a guilty contraband sensation for a demon, something one could never admit to but which was a necessity nonetheless.
"Sometimes they do not. Sometimes they fester and grow unabated." He knew too well how it felt, trying to ignore his own solitude and instincts until he almost shattered like glass under too much strain. "That time, that prom." he said. "I remember my mood took quite the turn when I saw you there. You did not even see me, I reckon."

Riyo held her tail like one would hold a sick child as she carefully stroked it in effort to make the pain subside. That is, until Titus started herding her away. "But... Dancing..." Oh well.. There went that.
The feline's eyes narrowed on the ground as she started walking in the directions of the tables until Titus spoke again. Wearing... Huh?
She looked up, following his line of sight to Hel. What was... Woah.
Woah.
The ghoul could not recall seeing a dress like that before, but it was so pretty! Moreover, the reaper looked really good in it. Riyo wasn't one to usually fawn over dresses but damn!
She said nothing in regards to Hel's outfit, but the sparkle in her eyes was clue enough that she liked it.

It had taken him way too long to figure out what to wear, but Xavier had finally dug something out of the very depths of his closet; an outfit that he'd brought along from home and had tucked away, intending never to use. And for a while, he'd forgotten about it entirely, seeing as how he'd had no use for it.
Except now he did, and now he was nervously standing in it, smoothing down the front of the coat and making sure that his hair - which was in a thick, feathery braid most of the way down his back - was carefully in place. There was a red flower tucked into the lapel, and another held in one clawed hand, which was tucked behind his back as he took a deep, steadying breath.
Xavier had told Helmut to meet him just outside of the dance, down another hallway, just away from prying eyes, so that he could present her with both himself and the little gift he had for her - except now he was so anxious he was bouncing up and down on the heels of his feet.

Calder arrived late only because he wasn't sure he would be arriving. Barth was taking Zar to the prom and while Calder knew that Barth was entitled to take his other mate with him, Calder felt a bit cold with no one else to take. Slightly bitter, he waited and waited to see if he'd go and waited a bit longer before he decided to even go out and find something to wear.
He didn't want typical. This would be a prom alone after all and he had no idea what Barth and Zar would even be wearing. He didn't want blue again, as he looked at all the things and knew nothing about science but enough to know that plaid wasn't an element.
Instead, he went to the mall and after talking around, asking around, and holding a slip of paper from a thick book Barth kept in his room that listed elements on the front pages, he found something new.
When Calder came in, it was not in blue or greens but in white. The fabric was clean and bright behind him split with a tuxedo tale to let his real tale, black and tied in a tight red bandage near the base to stick out. the front had straps in white leather with metal lops to lock them in black. His pants were the same with a white belt buckle with reddish-tinted metal. It was far from the organic themes Calder usually held. He wore earrings that were droplets of red and a red collar that failed to hide the silver necklace he always wore.
His hair was let loose with no ties to flow behind him. His hooves were recently polished and he wore white nail polish.
Stepping in, he walked around to check the place out. It was loud as usual and the lights and sounds made it hard for his animal senses to cope well.

"You and your date had a bit of an...altercation. I remember."
Barth seemed slightly curious at the when I saw you.
The curiosity sharpened, and his expression sliced into a small smile. "It wasn't something I did, was it?"

There was no hiding it, not with the link wide open, there was an affirmative twist of emotion, a gut wrenching taste of re-lived hopelessness and helplessness, that guilt again, dissatisfaction and then starkly back to the present where the ever shifting spectrum of emotion became startled embarrassment, self control and denial.
"You never do very much of anything." he said grimly. "It has never stopped you."
The crowd was oppressive and here and there he was sure he spotted familiar people, there was a moment he even thought - was that Calder? Surely not.

True to her word, Helmut had tried to dress up a little. Well, at least a little. She had started out with a black sweater-dress she had stuffed away for special occasions (the sort of occasions where you weren't allowed to play no matter what), but as the day progressed and the meeting time loomed over closer, she added tights, leg warmers, scarves, a poncho...and in the end, her outfit was a far cry from where it started, but for her, it was fancy. There wasn't a single patch on it, or a drop of spilled anything anywhere. Then of course was her hair, which she agonized over with all the whining she once treated her mother to; but in the end, she managed to tame most of it, and pull the sides back into a small ponytail.
And, with a lot of extra worrying and whining to herself, she finally pulled herself out of her room and to the meeting place, which she recalled as a hallway near (but not too near) the entrance to the dance itself. By the time she rounded the corner, her nerves were so shot she was staring at the ground, literally chewing on the claws of one tiny hand. She almost walked into him actually, if it weren't for the lucky sight of his feet, which froze her in her tracks and forced her to look up at him. Luckily, the panic in her eyes faded when she recognized him, even with the new outfit and the hair braid.
"Um!" She gasped, and gaped, and closed her mouth around her claws again before she remembered that it was rude. "H-hi."

He spotted Barth in the dark, and was surprised to see he wasn't wearing blue. Moving slowly, he felt a bit confused as the person he was leaning against was in a dress. He spotted horns but....there was no way that could be Lilith. She was much too tall but it was hard to make out details in the flashing lights and passing people.
He was sure that Barth said he would be with Zar, but considering how the man had made it rather clear with his choices that he could go with anyone should he had the desire (which he seemed to have the energy for plenty), that wasn't to say there were other demons on his list.
"Always with the damn demons. Wouldn't kill him to date another monster." He grumbled, though the horns were still vital for such a trade if that were to happen. Maybe a upgrade to three pairs this time.
Moving around the crowd that moved and danced around him, he tried to get a better view and at a slight angle, saw who it really was and covered his mouth. While Calder was glad that Barth was not adopting yet another person and leaving Zar somewhere else, he still felt a bit sour at standing alone and seeing the two close together. It twisted his insides not because he hated either of them, but because of the absence of his ability to participate. Despite his best efforts, he still felt possessive and a prom had that horrible sensation of making you need someone close by.
As it was, he decided to take in the new attire that Zar decided to wear, not suspecting the man, who used to wear suits all his life, to suddenly slip into a form-fitting dress. Even the demon's hair had been done nicely which made Calder second guess if he shouldn't have done more with his instead of trying the 'long and loose' look tonight. Overall, the pair seemed relax and calm, lost in Barth's own tempo than that of the music around them.
Since it hurt no one, he took out his phone from inside his shirt and snapped a few pictures because rally, it was too demons he had once been against close together in a rather sweet way. That and he'd be ready to snap a shot for any horn grinding.
