Picking up another ball, the girl threw it at the mechanism.

The ball struck dead on, sending the red head into the water.

Alec sat back down, and Lenore tossed another ball at the mechanism. The ball glanced off the mechanism, and the girl made a tch sound.

Leaning down, the girl grabbed the ball and tossed it forward. It made a glancing blow against the mechanism but dropped to the ground.

As Alec got situated, Lenore slung another ball at the mechanism. The ball went shy of the target, tumbling to the ground.
