So far so good. He kept running, hoping he wouldn't have to run into anyone.

Just for safe measure, he had his weapons summoned, looking around, hoping the others were too occupied to head for him. It might have been a small miracle in itself he made it through unscathed, but to be honest, he was trembling, still shaking from the whole incident. Even if he had run into one, he wasn't sure if he would have been able to handle it if they had pointed a similar gun at him.
Even as a full hunter, he felt so weak and vulnerable, and he hated it.
Chester's voice was comforting, but even then, his heart was still pounding inside his chest, and his breathing ragged as he continued looking around, fists clenched.
With shaky fingers, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, trying to type a message without dropping it.

Jake hardly needed to send her a message, she'd been looking for him. Now she let herself have a sigh of relief. She tried not to run in his direction, but it was difficult. "Jake," she said, when she was near enough to say it and not have to be loud about it. "I am so glad to see you." A hug, that's what Jake got. A great big hug. She was relieved he was alright, and she was happy to have him with her. "It's been a shitty morning." More hugging. Then she stepped back, looking him up and down. "Are you hurt?" HP: 52/60

At the sound of her voice, he turned, immense relief washing over him. His arms were already opened as she ran towards him, and he held her close, fearing that if he let go, he might lose her.
"I know, and I'm sorry. And don't worry, I'm fi-" His arm brushed against something wet, and he pulled away to see that it was blood. It wasn't a lot, but...
"Sherry. Your arm. What happened?" Part of him already knew, and it only terrified him. At first, he had hated it. Being a hunter meant they were no longer human. Not normal. But now... he realized just how fragile being human was.

3/3 They pushed forward, making their way deeper into the forest, further away from their starting point. He was certain sometime in their flight he had clung to Ian or Shiloh at least once. Letting go almost an instant later. They seemed to be making it through, slow and steady. A shot rang out that Lex hadn't fired, though there may have been some random melodious shots fired from Regal in the ensuing chaos of flames and explosions. Had Mark actually done something useful? This must have been more serious that he initially thought.
He'd been shoved through the portal, and felt an immediate chill in the air. For once, he didn't curse the scarves and coats they'd been issued - even if his green number wrapped around his neck was a tad singed. He saw that Mark was being taken care of, and began to run down the path. They would pay.

"Good." Kostya squeezed back, eternally too-tight, his eyes darkening as he surveyed the enemy stronghold. "Safe to assume is source of siege?" he asked, turning to face both America and Peyton, taking a moment to survey her well being, too. Neither of them looked as though they'd delay an assault, which was fortunate. "Ouroboros?" hp: 44 fear: 3/3

How the ******** did Charlotte survive?
He hadn't seen or heard of her since he'd seen her get shot in the head. Had that really been her? Otto didn't even understand any of this anymore. He wondered if he ought to bother trying to understand. One thing was perfectly clear; Mark's orders to take them down.
Done and done, he thought, He was a Sun now, and he was more than happy to shoot first for once. No more thinking. Just action.

At the far end of the path was a fortress, a structure with an impressive concrete wall. To the side was the sound of running water, a tall dam of sorts, most likely providing a good source of electricity for the building.
The last of the wall's sentries had been taken down through pure interception; the coast was for the most part clear and the exterior wall gates open. As they crossed, the place seemed almost eerily abandoned, which wasn't surprising considering where the locals could have been. It was almost best not to think of it, as they were quite literally on a parallel island trying to save their own.
Shots fired out again from the wall ramparts; someone had spotted them. There were three buildings around them, across the long courtyard. A building in the center, a tall building with flags all around it, flags of an ornate serpent curled into an O. To the left was a longer building decorated by multiple windows, and to the right a building that resembled a hospital in form and shape.
There were choices and each Hunter had to pick, fast. OOC: BRANCHING OFF CLOSER TO THE TRUTH - If you have not responded to page 6, you can either do so or just move to this stage, having followed the others. - Your hunter can PICK where to go next. This is entirely up to them but write where they are in BOLD RED so others can know. Only Hunters in the same area can interact with each other. Quote anyone relevant. - I will also drop prompts in various areas so be on the lookout! Please do respond to the prompts below. You may explore anything interesting in the area in BOLD RED but only one thing at a time until responded to. [ The Right Building/ Hospital: ] The first level is entirely abandoned; even the reception is gone. The first sign that something unusual had happened here are the thick red bloodstains traveling from wall to wall. The walls themselves have been gouged, as if clawed through, several of them are missing. It seems some sort of struggle or fight happened here, with an undetermined outcome. Walking further, see a broken elevator and a set of stairs. The stairs lead up and down. The basement is entirely broken and damaged, lights flicker in and out, fallen from the ceiling. There seems to be someone lying on the ground. The second floor is empty, there are no other patients inside. There is however, a notable set of bloodstains, what look like a trail of droplets of blood slightly aged. Following them leads to a computer that requires a password. That very room also has a series of folders that are readable, all dated from 03-01-13 to 03-01-14, always the first of every month. [ The center building: ] Upon entering you encounter a few more figures in grey, they need to be defeated: There are five sentries in grey with a pool HP of 100 and auto damage of 5. All Hunters in this building need to defeat the sentries first so treat it like a boss. Don't forget to post it's remaining HP for other center building people so they know. Once the boss is defeated you may continue on. The center building breaks into a left, right, and center wing lead by a flight of stairs. The left wing has taken extensive damage, every single door seemed to have been wrecked in the wake of something. There are dead sentries lying in the hallways, but thankfully they are not Hunters, just figures in grey. At the far end is a single classroom and on the desk of the classroom is a severed head. It seems like it has been there for a while as the blood around it is congealing. The right wing is fairly in tact: at the far end there is a series of locked doors. It seems no pushing will open the doors. There is a strange ticking noise coming from within the doors. The center wing spans open to an impressive series of classrooms. There is nothing out of place for them, but at the far end you reach an open room and see the [ security ] room. Inside are a series of cameras, all screens churn static. [ The right building/ ??? ] The right building seems to house a series of rooms, slightly more expansive than the Hunter dorms. They are abandoned and rather damaged. This is also the first time you encounter a casualty that isn't anyone in grey: a deceased Hunter lies at the staircase leading up. As you walk up, you hear a pounding noise. Several pounding noises, and shouting. You arrive at a hallway, but all the doors are sealed. The pounding noise literally comes from people shouting at the doors, telling you to let them out. It is hard to tell who it is. At the far end is a door that has been heavily sealed with deep red runes. A trail of blood leads and stops at the door. The third floor is also abandoned but there is a strange room that is open. The room is covered, every single inch of the wall, in ornate picture frames. They all frame Charlotte's face, they look like self portraits, except for one of a woman with short black hair and a ponytail. In that room is a single folder. Project Wonderland.

[ The right building/ ??? ]
Otto moved on instinct, running into the building on the right. Once inside he began to slow down. He took in all the sights and sounds. He saw a body. For now, he didn't recognize it. He moved on, past the doors with people inside yelling. He wasn't about to go opening doors quite yet. Were they other hunters like himself? Like the body in the hall? Or were they O's?
Otto wished he knew the right answers here.
He kept on moving, wanting to scope out every inch of the building to get the bigger picture. Or in this case, it seemed... many of them.
Walls of pictures with Charlotte's wretched face. He curled his lip in anger as he passed them. Betrayer, he thought in his mind. He felt the key burn for just a moment as the word held within his mind.
The last picture had his full attention. A woman with short black hair.... before his eyes fell on an important folder. One he needed to see...
Wonderland....
Would he find out more about it here? About Neverland too? Otto dared to try and open the folder.

The Right Building/ Hospital"Being still is not so safe," Kostya said, calmly, cradling Syntax's heated form in his right hand. "Going in there, and up." He set off to the left, calmly observing the streaks of red. It looked very much familiar to his promotional mission, with the gouges of claws against the walls, the drag of red blood against the floor. He ascended, coming upon a room with a computer and a number of folders. He rifled through them, eventually settling on 08-01-13, opening it to read. Data had always been his interest anyway. hp// 44 charge// 3/3

Right building/???
He only had a few moments to examine the fortress before he instinctively jumped back at the sound of shots fired. Now was not the time to idle around. There was no time for Wilson to look at Dakota and reach a confirmation. Instincts told him to head for the right building.
Wilson stood in front of a series of rooms. His gaze strayed toward the deceased hunter. Noting the stark white of their coat, he frowned, but sighed deeply as he calmly walked past the corpse. He ascended the staircase, catching a fleeting glimpse of a certain transferred hunter. He moved faster, especially as he heard pounding. Initial instinct was to open the door, but then he suddenly stopped. Anyone could be behind the door.
Reluctantly, he pulled back his hand and went for the door at the end. He bent down to examine the blood and runes.

A strong, rough hand took a hold of Jordan's arm, but the handling was careful.
"s**t," Harrison said, and his voice was quiet, and he unhooked his medkit and inspected Jordan as thoroughly as he could in short order. He searched out blood and its source like a hound, using sometimes not-so-nice pressure to look and feel for breaks. He didn't have the time to make sure there were exit wounds, to make sure...
"You start feeling funny- get dizzy, anything starts swelling, you- you get the ******** back, okay."
Harrison had blood on him, but none of it was his.
"You can't treat this like a regular fight," Harrison said, tying off the last of all he had to hold Jordan together. "You need to head to the infirmary. Soon as this is over. Don't take risks."
He gave a long, dark look to the buildings ahead.
