Tedan wandered in late, not really sure what was going on. He'd been a bit out of everything recently without knowing why, exactly. Something seemed different this morning though - aside from the fact that waking up so early sucked, so he actually made it to the meeting.

And saw a bunch of newbies. A bunch of newbies that they were supposed to show around?

Okay, whatever. It was at least something out of the norm, right?

"Anyone wanna hang with a Sun?" he asked a few of them, raising his eyebrows.

Jordan tapped out a reply to Shu's question on Twitter, because nobody should be kept from coffee, even if it was horrible cafeteria coffee, slipped his phone back into his pocket, and looked up to scan idly across the crowd of new arrivals. Trainees? It'd been a while since they'd had a group wake up together.

His eyes caught on one person, and he froze completely as the floor dropped out from under him and all the blood drained out of his face, leaving him pale. Andy. How? Even as the question arose, he answered it for himself; he and everyone else here was "dead," their disappearances arranged and deaths faked, sometimes with the use of a golem. A golem.

He swallowed hard as the world rearranged itself around this new information. There was no question that he might have made a mistake, not when Andy was looking at him with an expression that was just as shocked as his. Of course. Andy wouldn't have expected him to be here. The last he'd known, Jordan was at school, and after that ...

Distantly, he registered what Dr. H was saying. The group of new wake-ups were premature awakenings. Unbonded. He hadn't even known that was possible. Andy wasn't awake for good. He hadn't found his weapon. But he was alive, there was still a chance.

It took Jordan two shaky attempts to put his cup down on the bench. "I gotta," he said, and started making his way down to the group, weaving his way through the crowd. He stopped a few feet away from his brother. There was no mistake, but he asked anyway. "Andy?"

Ferros remained silent, just as shocked as his human.

When those weary eyes focused on him, he knew he couldn't look away. He heard the commotion, the call to his short attention span, but she had him focused hard, until she decided to release him. Her head landed on his shoulder, and he breathed again.

He was right. His entire body shivered childishly with glee. "Good." He growled out, turning to kiss her forehead before finally looking at the new mess of hunters walking in. Fresh meat - too much fresh meat. A whole new stash of hunters waiting to be broken in, or just broken. It was the exact opposite thing he wanted to see that day, because it reminded him of the day when Renee would be walking through that door.

Babysitters was not a word Robert approved of when it came to new hunters, but he sure did understand it. So when H dismissed them, he turned to murmur into Mimsy's ear.

"Babysitting duty, or naptime?"

They had just woken up, but there was no way in hell Robert wasn't ready for a nap right now.

Rep was distracted from paying attention to H and the talk of /double pay/ when he noted Jordan's strange actions. The other man was a creature of control, even something as small as taking a few tries to put down a cup were significant.

It took H's comment about familiar faces to put Jordan's mention of Andy's name into context.

He stared for a few long moments.

And then he made a sound between tightly gritted teeth which could only really be classed as a snarl

Jordan only had one ******** family.

He turned to Harrison, wild eyed and with barely controlled fury written in every line. "You think this s**t's legit?" he snapped.

Xi pretended to be really interested in peeling her sixth egg having obviously figured out everything else, but she was actually listening rather intently to the conversation in the background while Mikael stammered what sounded like words over it. She was getting that sort of feeling one got when everyone else got picked for a class project except for her, and her unimportance made her in return feel everyone else was just as unimportant to her.

"Oh that's nice," she suddenly said flippantly to Mikael, doing the opposite of what she actually wanted (attention), and what she wanted to have (people to talk to), "I heard schools over there have a different education system. I guess they didn't teach you the basics."

Someone's words got filtered in the background and she snapped reflexively at them, unappreciative of any sympathy, "Not confused, just annoyed. Everything here is a joke so I would really appreciate the part where you took me back home. Unlike you guys, I actually have a real job to return to."

"Andy, like, Andy Andy," Harrison repeated under his breath, barely moving his mouth in case it wasn't and Jordan was going to have a meltdown.

"I mean, I don't know why they'd like, ******** with us. I mean they do, experimental s**t, but not like. I mean. Nobody's, so far, you know. Brought up a golem of our dead ******** relatives for the hell of it."

Harrison paused.

"You don't uh, see anybody you recognize, do you."

The sound of Dr. H's voice caused Mimsy to obediently perk up to listen. She sat as straight and respectable as one could on a lap, and hurriedly fidgeted with her braids to ensure that they were as straight and neat as possible.

It surprised her to hear him speak of Wonderland in such a way. Was he being purposefully vague, or was that truly all that he knew at the moment? Wonderland had been much more than he indicated, and she surely did not know more than he did about anything.

Not even Wonderland.

She would have let her mind wander until she was lost in her thoughts, had he not continued speaking. He gestured towards the 'premature wake-ups', and her gaze slowly followed. So many. So fragile. The pay was not nearly as much of an incentive as showing him that she could do all of his extra credit assignments was, but...

Everything began to feel terrible again. She had not covered it up well enough the first time. She put her head on Robert's shoulder again, and didn't speak until he did. Even then, her response was slightly delayed.

"No babysitting." Brows raised, she slowly tapped his cheek and pointed towards the table, where Shu was trying her hardest to retrieve what he'd asked for. "We have our own to care for."

Harrison was a morning person, but since they'd all gotten corralled immediately into an emergency meeting, he wasn't his usual perky self.

"It's his brother, not his ex," he growled.

He picked up Jordan's coffee for him, taking one step down on the bleachers.

"Come down and be ******** supportive. And pick out a kid, too. Whatever one's prettiest."
