Sreda was confused. "Why would he question you? Does he know you knew Carac?" she asked, closing the door. "Oh dear me... We can't very well say that you let Cedany into the dungeon, but he can't possibly blame you. Just say you were in the room. I might be the next to be questioned, but I already have a story set up."

Now she was even more worried. "What if he doesn't believe you?? I can't let you be punished for my mistake!" she said in a high pitched whisper. "I shouldn't have gotten myself involved in the first place, me and my big mouth!"

"I'll be fine. I'm a deaf girl. They think I'm unintelligent and incapable of things like lying or helping supposed criminals escape," Sreda said with a little bitterness in her voice. "Thinking about that, it makes me wonder why they let me watch Carac, but it matters not now. Miss Lynora, don't worry about me."

That was really difficult to hear, especially from Sreda. This world's priorities were really out of balance, but there wasn't anything she could do about it right now except to keep moving forward. "Alright but be careful okay?" she said softly, opening the bedroom door wider and giving a soft sigh as she let the little servant girl leave her side.

Sreda stepped outside and was immediately surrounded by the other servants, questions shoved into her face from all directions. For once, she was glad she could not hear them. They may have been so annoying that her ears might have lost hearing by now anyways. She couldn't even explain anything because she realized she forgot her notebook somewhere and she couldn't read every lip movement.

Lynora watched the other servants hound the poor girl for answers and felt bad for Sreda but she needed to look out for herself right now. If she stayed around then surely someone would start pointing fingers at her. A girl from a strange land pops up here and someone happens to go missing from the dungeons? Even she would be suspicious. Lynora closed the door and dressed herself in the dress she had when she came here, thinking the ballroom dress was too formal for every day wear. Once she finished dressing and placed her hair in a pony tail, she slowly made her way out of the bedroom and down the hall to find a way out of the castle. She had to get to Cedany and Carac.

To say Althalos was furious was a grave understatement. No words could describe his anger. As he stormed through the halls, he tried to find Lynora. She was the only one he could think of who would have allowed the warlock to escape. Eventually, he located her and grabbed her wrist so she couldn't run. "What is the meaning of this?!" he demanded. "Was it you who let him escape? I thought we agreed an investigation would take place!" Did she really have so little faith that he would keep his word? If Lynora was still nothing but a stranger, she might have been sent to the dungeon for this.

Lynora was nowhere near the door when she was whipped around so forcefully, it happened so suddenly she had barely realized what happened until Althalos started barking at her. Lynora started to tremble a little and tugged against his hand. "Y-you're hurting me.." she said a little too quietly in her meager attempt to change the subject. "I-I don't know who let Carac escape, please let me go!!" she said in a bit of a panic, she'd never been handled like this before and he was starting to scare her a little.

Althalos didn't believe her. "You're telling me that you, his only advocate, had nothing to do with his escape? You must know at least something!" He knew that Lynora was hiding something. Why else would she be roaming the halls without Sreda? "Tell me everything!"

Lynora could feel his grip on her wrist tightening, she could practically feel her blood pumping through her vein against his hand and pretty soon her hand started to go numb. "No, let me GO!!" She yelled, using her other hand to slap him across the face in order to get him to release her. Although, as soon as her hand touched his face two guards grabbed each of her arms and two more rushed behind Althalos with their swords pointed at her.

Althalos didn't move nor did he let go, though his rage only rose. However, he knew even now that her slapping him was no grounds to put her in the dungeon. He motioned for the guards to put down their swords. "Escort her out. Make sure she doesn't come anywhere near these grounds," he said to them, and then he looked directly into Lynora's eyes. "I suggest you join your friends and run."

Lynora was truly scared now, feeling the anger radiating off of Althalos weighing down on her as the guards moved her away from the Prince, glad to escort the young woman past the castle gates. After the guards threatened to throw her in the dungeons if she ever trespassed onto castle grounds, Lynora stayed at the gates for a moment or two. Where was she going to go? She didn't know this land at all or how everything worked, but one thing she did know is that if she didn't find somewhere to hide soon Althalos would start hunting her. Lynora started running, though she had no idea where she was going, running into people here and there along the way until she came to a small grassy clearing just outside the little town. She pressed her back against a tree that separated her from the rest of the town and tried to catch her breath.

"Dammit, you're stepping on my favorite herb!"Carac heard his sister's complaining voice and turned to insist that he hadn't seen the plant, only to find that she had been glaring at a very exhausted Lynora. "Miss Lynora! What happened? Did you get lost again?" he asked, going over to her. He was almost afraid of what her answer would be.

Lynora jumped when she heard Cedany's voice, afraid it was a guard or someone else but was glad to find that she was with familiar faces. "No...." she huffed, trying to calm herself down. "The Prince freaked out....when he found out you escaped..." After a moment or two she was able to breathe normally. "He grabbed me and tried to get me to tell him what happened but he wouldn't let go....I smacked him across the face and he kicked me out of the castle." she said softly, though she was still trembling a little and there was a red mark around her wrist where Althalos had grabbed her.

Carac looked around to make sure no one was listening and then he turned back to her. "Kicked out? Then you're no longer under his protection!" he realized. "Come with us before they start hunting you!" He tugged on her arm to lead her to their temporary hiding spot. Their home itself had been ransacked and no longer hidden.
