While she had been too caught up in her approach initially, as soon as Anita got her greeting out she noticed the stiff departure of one from the group. It caused a delay in her reaction to Zul's warm welcome, and Anita barely moved against his arm as he draped it over. A quick flush ran across her cheeks at the unexpected kiss and Anita dipped her head with a quiet laugh. "Heeey," she leaned against the sigel, returning his squeeze as a half hug in her own way, before returning her attention to the others around.
Reception to the nickname, which she'd honestly chosen just as it rolled off her tongue, seemed pleasant across the board. Anita smiled at Cesc for the compliment, then at Zul for his agreement.
”Hah, it's uh-- it's a Black Sabbath song,” she shrugged shyly, grinning.
Ethiriel was always, as far as she could tell, reserved and calm, but there was something quieter about her today that Anita couldn't quite place. Still, she said she was alright, so Anita took it at face value for now. ”That's great to hear. I hope you have fun today.” She wanted to apologize for their plans falling through before, if Henry hadn't already, but now wasn't the time.
As Zul went around the small circle of introductions, Anita smiled and nodded. She certainly hadn't caught the stag or Wasa's names before, but she recalled the woman from roughly half an hour ago.
”It's real nice to meet you guys,” it was hard not to grin in Zul's presence, and she smiled over at him, ”Hope y'all get to meet Cruz, too. He's around.”
It was only when Melisande was mentioned by name that Anita lost her smile again and she craned her neck to see where the sigel had gone. A slight frown tightened her lips and her brows were knit with worry. The muse was definitely avoiding her.

"Too close is putting it lightly. I've seen people die due to the mistakes like the ones made in the jungle, sending anyone anywhere before dark without a known rally point and information dissemination being the first ones that should have made me turn right around," He sighed, sipping again on his IPA and glancing over a Shep, "Glad I didn't though. Just so much trauma could have been prevented. Physical and mental."
He shrugged, moving a bit in his chair and slowly and raising his brows, and turning to look at the Frei Shepard had indicated.
"Name's Cesc? I remember seein' him out there. Barely recognize him now- in a good way. Boy's got great potential in leadership," He took off his hat, rolling the bill between his hands, strawberry brown hair showing tiny flakes of gray and knicks from various scars- barely noticeable with the less than regulation haircut, "I mean, I know "playdates" aren't a thing for these guys bu-- ah s**t. Yeah I'm watchin' over that one. Tatiana? Just retreated to my battle buddy over there."
He glanced back over at Shepard, "It's not that she's got social anxiety or anything- she's just hatched and all that. Could use mentorship that ain't me or Cam... He current favorite is Younger schenn because to her 'he's the most aesthetically pleasing' ... help."

Camille and Tatiana continued their conversation, enjoying a reclusive type company amongst the crowded garden. The frei smiled softly, hands splayed, one gripping the table for stability the other rubbing Camille's arm comfortingly. Camille was still gnawing away at the crawdads- Tatiana honestly wanted to try one but the idea of eating physical food just didn't make sense. Not yet anyway. She smiled and bounced on her axis a little when Cam tossed the shells onto the plate Laz had left.
"Oh righ'. H'completely f'go' abou'... Yenno. Lack of intestine f'a momen'," Cam started glancing at the pleasant smile Tatiana gained as he chucked the rest of the shell to the plate, "Y'look stunnin' in tha' dress by th'way."
Tatiana smiled large, pressing her cheek to her palm and scrunching her face at Cam, "Thank you. I didn't remember that I was hungry... only a little hungry..."
"Yenno, they's gotta table f'the raevans. I'm sure there's somethin' fer you there..." Cam said, slowly standing up with a grimace. He reached for the shells, placing the plate on the table before righting himself. Tatiana tried her best to support his bad side-- but she was still wobbly and still only a hovering force, "I'm fine, Tats.... H'really am."
"At least let me feel like I'm helping?" The hamsa said, hands pressed into Cam's shoulder and chest as she settled under his arm like a crutch.
Once they got to the table Cam plucked the basket with Tatiana's name on it and grinned. Bouncy balls... Clever. He looked over at her with a growing grin and winked before dropping one to the floor. Tatiana's eyes widened and she gripped Cam's shirt. The ball should have bounced but it acted as if it was damped in it's decent- bouncing barely an inch off the floor before it settled.
"I like them...." Tatiana said reaching for another with pursed lips. She remembered then to wave back at Luka to indicate where she had moved to in case he still wanted to join.

After leaving the table from Cam, Lazarus was halfway heading back into the building when he heard a familiar voice.
"Laz…are you doing okay?"
Pausing in his tracks, he turned around to gaze upon the face that he had grow fond of the past few months. A smile immediately lit his face. "Pasha! Yeah I'm doing fine." He chuckled. The Sigel wanted to wave with his hands but they were stained and covered in oil and crawfish juices. They felt kind of disgusting at the moment. So instead he hid his hands behind his back, wishing there were paper napkins nearby.
"Are you enjoying the potluck?" Lazarus inquired courteously. "Oh had you tried some of the crawfish over there?" He pointed a finger at the table covered in the red crustacean. "They are surprisingly good!" And the evidence was all over his fingers, and even a dab of red oil that he accidentally flicked onto his cheek and he didn't even realize it.

Melisande's answering smile was bright, and she beamed at Lazarus. She not only happy for the chance to say hello…it would also give Cesc and Wasa some time to catch up if they still wished to go to the games. "I am enjoying it, thank you!" She didn't mention her discomfort. Seeing Lazarus, and thinking about dear Kyou, put that matter in perspective. She drifted a bit closer, and reached forward gracefully to wipe the spot of oil from the other Sigel's cheek with her thumb.
"I haven't tried the crawfish," The Muse admitted, glancing back at the table. "They still look…alive? I'm not sure!" Pasha laughed at her own hesitation, and shrugged her bare shoulders. "I brought some chocolate dipped strawberries, if you are in the mood to try one later! Oh, and I found a recipe for chili rubbed mango that I wanted to make for you…perhaps the next time I visit?"
Pasha drifted a bit to the side, floating lower to rummage through the bag of table clothes and napkins she'd brought. She wiped the speck of oil off her thumb on a corner before offering a fresh napkin to Laz with a smile.

Melanie dug into the last bit of what was still on her plate, smiling at the man's statement. "Agreed. Fond memories indeed. I haven't played those games since high school." she said with a smile, going onto listening to the man.
The woman blushed at his comment about not being bored. She turned her head away and looked out over the party, keeping her ear's attention honed in on the man's words the entire time. Truth or dare? That should prove to be interesting. She turned her amber eyes back to the man and smiled. "Actually, that sounds rather entertaining. I have no reason to say no." she stated with a grin. "Since you want to play, you begin." she said, tapping her fingers on her knee.
This entire party and trying to figure out as much as she could about the Raevan's and their guardians was put on the back burner as the man talked. She was actually really enjoying this conversation. A hopeless romantic never gave up on a potential date, even when duty called. This seemed to weigh on her mind even more. She realized how long it had been since she found herself talking to anyone in a similar fashion -- far, far too long. Now she just sat and waited for the man to speak.

Throughout the whole time he'd been chatting with Melanie he hadn't once wanted to leave. Usually a private man he didn't often give information about himself so easily when just meeting someone but with Mel it seemed he could just tell her anything. He kept this to himself smiling as she pushed for him to start his little game he had proposed. "If the lady wishes... I suppose I'll go first. Truth or Dare? I choose dare... what would you have me do, darlin'?"

[[ Xiu --> Crafts Table | Domo & Lala ]]Xiu laughed. “What kind of books does Thanatos like? Maybe I can assist you in finding the book?” offered Xiu. The Sigel loved books and if he could help someone find the perfect book, so much the better. It was always a shame when a book is neglected on a shelf because it was not quite to the reader’s liking or worse...used to fix a jittery table leg. That was an insult to not only the author who wrote the book but also to the knowledge contained within the book. When Domo pointed out a lovely young girl to the Sigel, Xiu gave her a warm smile and inclined his head in return when she curtsied. “I’m honoured to meet you too, friend,” said Xiu politely and warmly. Lala’s politeness was endearing and Xiu found himself liking the young girl. “So... what are you making there?” asked Xiu as he took a seat beside the young girl and Domo.

Melanie laughed. She hadn't played a game like this since she was young. But if the man chose dare -- she would give him a dare. "Alright -- so I have to choose a dare for you. Lets see."
She looked around at the other guests at the party with narrowed eyes and a smile on her face. She lifted her index finger to her lips and tapped a few times before turning her attention back to the man. "I've got it." she began with a slight giggle. Her hand fell to the side of her seat and with a growing grin on her face, she leaned a little towards the man, speaking softly, "I dare you to ask me out on a date."
With that, she sat back in her original position, wide smile upon her face and an eyebrow raised.

Oh! He didn't realized he had something on his face. Blushing a little softly, he stayed still as Melisande wiped something from his cheek, feeling a little embarrassed. He managed to catch a glimpse of it on her finger, it was reddish orange - those pesky crawfish juices that was flying everywhere if he was not careful when he peeled those shells.
Lazarus chuckled at the comment that perhaps the crawfish were still alive. "I don't think they are alive. They didn't scream when I tore their shells away." He laughed, a hearty sound that came out of him for the first time that day.
"Chili rubbed mango sounds interesting." Sweet, sour and spicy, now that is something he haven't tried before. Though admittedly he had tried some of the sour and spicy food before of the Asian variety, and he actually kind of dig it. "The host, I think Mordekai, got me a fruit basket over there." He mentioned as he gestured at the edge of the food table, near to the bonfire where his basket sat. "You can take some mangoes back later from there to make it. I insist!" It would only be fair if he provided some ingredients, since Pasha will be the one making it.
Lazarus was ever so grateful when she offered him the clean napkin, he was in dire need of some. "Thank you!" He said as he cleaned his fingers. "I'm just heading in to grab some mango juice from the fridge. I'll check out your chocolate dipped strawberries later. Where would I find them?

He gave a low whistle at her boldness but he liked it. "Well you don't mess around." He looked around making sure no one was paying any particular attention to them before scooting closer, "If the lady wishes... Miss Melanie would you do me the honor of allowing me to take you out on a date?" Course even without the dare he was certain to ask her anyway this just helped speed things along. Leaning forward a little he gave her a polite smile, "So it's your turn... truth or dare?"

Domo thought for a moment then smiled tugging at his scarf for good measure. "He reads fantasy distopian novels and some naughty ones on the side." He said bluntly going around Lala to fiddle with some of the crafts there. "He really shouldn't leave the naughty books laying around like that. They have nice stories the other stuff is confusing and weird." Flipping through a few papers he found the colored kind he liked and began folding another origami shape.
"I'm actually making some flowers. I think I'm done though." Looking at the last one she placed the flowers in a row threading a string through them to make a necklace. "There! Oh could you help me put this on." She asked holding the necklace up.

The woman sat back and giggled to herself, nodding her head in agreement. "You'e be surprised how bold I can be; and I accept your offer." she said, looking out over the crowd with a smile upon her face.
She then looked back at Xan and narrowed her eyes a bit. "I'm the daring type." she said softly, scooting towards the tall man slightly, trying to be as inconspicuous as she could.

He chuckled sitting back, "Actually I'd like some more of that pineapple salad you made and it'd taste so much better if you'd feed me a plate." Giving a coy wink he waited for her response.

Upon hearing the dare, all Melanie could do was laugh. "Haha. Alright, though a kiss would have been reciprocated." she said with a wink, getting up quickly and walking over to the bar, grabbing a small plate and piling on some pineapple salad only to return to her seat once again.
"Alright, here you are." she said, holding the plate at his mouth level and taking a fork-full up, only to place it before the man's lips.

The dare was just for fun and he was happy to enjoy some more of the pineapple salad as a bonus. He sat back in his seat enjoying the view as she grabbed a plate and returned. "Thank you darlin' I've not had a woman feed me since I was a babe." He took a bite satisfied of the taste. "So is it my turn again? Perhaps this time I'll choose truth."( rolling for Xan )

Melanie simply smiled and agreed -- yes that was true. A kiss shouldn't be for game, even though he was sweet enough to suggest that. His southern accent tugged at her heart. The man was so smooth and she was so happy to just be talking to him.
"Okay. Truth it is." she said with a smile. "What was your first impression of me." she asked with a raised brow.
"And I'll choose truth this time around as well when you're done." she said before he was able to say anything at all.
