"Huh! Never knew that. I'd like a working one," Crow said, working at the cord carefully. "Hope I don't half-strangle myself again," she added, biting her lip. Honestly, she and electronics with their stupid fancy accessories just didn't mix well. Fiddling with it for a moment more with Rabid's help, she grinned in victory as the slightly mangled cord slipped off.
"HA! Take that, cheap-a** forty dollar headphones." she said, sticking her tongue out at them. Suddenly realizing she was taunting an inanimate object, she stowed them away and took another sip of tea. "Well, life-threatening moment of the day's done. Day is officially complete," she said lazily. Thinking for a moment, her brain clicked on the word 'religion', and she grinned.
"There's a Iritian holiday comin' up soon. Anything you guys'd like as presents?" She asked, blinking innocently. For the longest time she'd never had friends to give gifts to, and was going to go full-out this time around, as much as she despised anything and everything Rijan-related.

"Owned," Rabid pointed accusingly at the headphones before looking up to Crow. Iritian? Huh. She'd never heard of it.
"Naw. You don't need to get us anything," she talked animatedly with one of her hands, "We have all the random crap than can fit in our little roo--OUCH!" She stared at her finger as if it'd just lied to her somehow.
"Something bit me."
She peered around, clinging to her now incredibly sore knuckle.

Crow frowned and looked around for the offending biter, picking up her thermos to serve as a weapon.
"Which way'd it go? I'll get it," she said, glaring at the grass and assorted small flowers as though they were all guilty. "You okay? Not bleeding, is it?"

"I don't even know what it was," Rabid said, "Might've been a freakin' horsefly. Kinda hurts like one. Err...I don't think I'm bleeding." She certainly didn't smell blood, but her senses had been quite off lately and so she peered down toward her finger.
"Well, will you look at th--OUCH!"
She held up her right hand to Crow and wiggled her fingers, displaying a rather long set of appendages as compared to her other.

Crow's eyes went wide and she dropped the thermos. That was a little freaky, right there.
"What the...?" She managed, having to force herself not to stare at Rabid's hand. "That... that's a bit weird. Are you alright?"
Not the best question to ask at the moment, really.

"I..uh..." Rabid said, suddenly gripping her stomach, "Actually, I feel kinda sick." She knotted her brow in pain and watched as her other hand jerkily regained a size matching its companion.
She wasn't frightened, really. Just confused.
"Ah, s**t," she whispered and fell onto all fours, still gripping her gut with an arm. She refused to cry out as an odd nagging soreness suddenly attacked her every body part. It felt like it had back when she was still growing, actually.
Made sense.
She closed her eyes and gritted her teeth, recieving a sharp p***k to her lower lip. What? She opened her mouth and gained a mouthful of curly hair.
"Bleaupthhhh," she opened one eye and stuck her tongue out, beginning to pick the hair out of her mouth and untangling it from her fangs.

"Rabid!"
Crow stared in total astonishment for a second, kneeling next to her friend and clucking worriedly. Convinced she'd somehow done something to the poor girl, Crow fidgeted and bit at her claws, unsure what to do.
"Oh man, oh jeez - Rabid, you okay?" She asked, eyeing the curly hair and... and the fangs -what the hell, they'd grown back!- with an utterly confused expression.

"Aw, damn...just when I was starting to like the hair," she gave a toothy grin and stretched her now significantly longer legs. Her only guess what that she had returned to normal, although she wouldn't know for sure until she got a look in the mirror.
The only problem in this was that she felt that her Human side was much more...ah...attractive than her usual hybrid state. Who liked curly hair and freckles? Seriously.
Ah well. At least she wasn't short any more.
"I'm fine," she turned and smiled to Crow.

Smiling with profound relief at the features she remembered so well coming back at last, Crow sat down on the grass and laughed slightly. "Huh! It did just wear off," she said. "Bet Julian an' all them'll be surprised."
Staring at the fangs and hair still, she shook her head. "Man, I wonder why it just happened all of a sudden, though."

So she was back to normal...
"Surprised? They'll probably gape in horror and yell "she's back!" or something to that effect," Rabid laughed, revelling in her accentless state, "I have no idea. It's pretty random, methinks. I just wish I knew why any of this has been going on."
I love how Julian was the first person on her list, she thought rather bitterly, surprising herself. She shook off the odd sensation that momentarily gripped her heart and sighed happily, leaning back against the tree.

Leaning against the tree and pushing the teetering pile of magazines aside, Crow drew her knees up to her chest and propped herself up on her elbows.
"Well, interesting afternoon, isn't it?" She said, brows arched and grinning.

"Hoyeh," Rabid snickered and peered toward the sky, once again getting used to her Vampiric eyesight.
It was kind of giving her a headache.

"Are you sure they do not make me look...dorky?"
Julian laughed and shook his head. Ethan frowned at the response and took his new glasses off, only to start squinting immediately and put them back on. He still pouted a bit, waiting for Julian to answer.
"Honestly. You look fine. Really." Julian said, looking around the grounds for Crow. Spotting her and another girl sitting under one of the trees, he nudged Ethan in the side with his elbow.
"Hey, who's that she's with?" He asked, pointing to the taller of the two. Ethan ventured forward a little, peering over his glasses before giving an irritated sigh and looking into them properly. His jaw dropped.
"It's Rabid!"
Julian blinked in surprise, then again in misunderstanding.
"Huh?"
Abandoning Ethan, he walked half-casually towards the tree, looking at Crow's companion intently. As he got a good look, he suddenly smiled.
"Hey, guys."

Rabid peered down to their visitors, knowing the voices all too well. Ethan she could stand. Julian (the single person who'd made her life a living Hell for more than a few months and, as she was beginning to think, was taking great advantage of her) she could not.
"Hi," she said nonchalantly, trying her damndest to keep a smile. She spotted Ethan and waved, "Cute glasses!"

Ethan blushed at the compliment, looking pleased.
"Thank you," he said, ducking his head down and looking at his shoes. Julian laughed a bit and leaned against the tree near Crow, unsure what to do next. He couldn't tell Rabid wasn't exactly pleased to see him, but gut instinct seemed to tell him it'd be wise to stay a bit clear. The smile she gave was a little strained.
"So..." he said, trailing off. Crow looked up at him curiously, eyes shifting back to Rabid imperceptibly as she finished off her tea.
"We were just hangin' out," she said, trying to restart some kind of conversation.
