Mirai made a face as she walked. Nariaki needed to get a grip. They all went through hell in the last several chapters. There was no time to start feeling down on themselves. If Nariaki acted like that by the center of the book, they would be in trouble. It didn't help that the doll appeared and started beating everyone else down. Mirai was tired. She wanted to break down too. After being hit hard with the envy chapter, almost getting killed in the Rage chapter, and then getting the psychological beating of a lifetime from the doll, a voice in the back of Mirai's head contemplated going into a corner and just crying and quitting being leader. Obviously since the doll didn't see any potential in her, Herald still wanted to kill her, and Nariaki was in a bad state, she wasn't doing a good job at keeping everyone together and in one piece. Despite that, she wanted to keep going. There wasn't a point to crying and giving up. Not here. She tiredly rubbed her eyes as she walked through the Sloth chapter. She glanced towards Texas then "Um... what was your envy chapter about?" she asked, whether it was out of curiosity or she wanted to get her mind off her own inner demons was not known.
Emma watched as the doll and N tried to comfort Nariaki. She looked around some more at the chapter then "It would be dangerous not only to be tired but to feel unmotivated as well. Everyone's soul wavelengths have decreased slightly due to the chapter..." she muttered to no one in particular, most likely she was just analyzing what she saw in this chapter.

Some men just want to see the world burn... And I just want to show them. Never Again... Will I be bound in chains Texas looked over quickly at Mirai when she asked what he saw in the Envy chapter. "Oh! Um...you know. Stuff. I saw Herald. He was there too," he said quickly, giving a slightly embarrassed smile. "Why? Um, what did you see in the Envy chapter?" He asked, now curious as to what she had encountered there. He was feeling tired and could feel his wavelength ebbing, but fortunately he had more than enough resonance force to spare. He could go on in this chapter for quite some time. Herald was much the same way; the massive amount of raw resonance force in his body could keep him going for quite a while. He looked over at Emma and nodded at her observation. He had felt it too. "We'll have to get through this chapter quickly as well," he added. "After that we just have one more, correct?" He walked as he spoke, leaving a trail of pawprints burning with bright green fire wherever he stepped.

"Stuff? Must've sucked." Mirai looked forward when Texas asked her about it "Three girls I have seen before appeared... told me I was born lucky... I'll always be special and be given everything... nobody wants to be friends with someone like me... things like that. " she said, keeping her tone low. The last thing she needed was Fatalis to come over and give her more hell. Or even Herald. "I feel bad just talking about it" she muttered. Her envy chapter seemed minor.
Emma's ears swiveled as she stared at Texas and Mirai for a few moments then she looked at Herald when he spoke. "Yeah... Greed I think. Then we can get in the center of the book, grab what we are looking for, and be on our way." she said.

In a good way I mean! Like, you've got awesome powers and a really cool mom and your own dimension and everything! That's really cool. Why would you be envious of that?" He asked, not understanding what Mirai was upset about. Herald looked over at Emma as her ears perked up and she looked over at Texas and Mirai. "What?" He asked her curiously.

Mirai shook her head "It isn't that... I actually have started to dislike my powers. A lot of people seem to think that I am all high and mighty because of my abilities including my new little brother who hates me for them. I am also expected to do a lot..." she started "Those three girls... I tried talking to them... the real them a while ago, during one of my first experiences walking around Death City. They turned me down though. They heard my name and quickly walked away to talk with their friends. That is why I get really nervous when talking to others my age. I guess I started envying those three... because they gained friends and everything from their own strengths and not something they were born with." she explained. She was silent for a few moments then looked at Texas "Sorry... I don't want to start a whole 'pity me' thing. That is the last thing I want. Especially since my Envy chapter was a bit silly." she said with a small laugh.
Emma shrugged "Nothing." she said with a grin. She looked back at the kids for a moment "I think it is ironic that they both have abilities that have to do with fire as well." she said, moving on to a new subject. "Combining our attacks would be pretty interesting."

I'm just scared shitless on being rejected by both genders... There.." "Enough!" he commanded before enveloping them both in an sphere of black energy. The two would be separated from the others as they entered the Sloth Chapter. Within the sphere was pure darkness, the only visible things being Fatalis and Nariaki. "Scared of rejection?" he asked her. "Is that truly all there is? Look around you, Nariaki. There are so many things to be scared of then just simple rejection." Fatalis hovered towards him and placed his little hand on his head. "If you must cry and shout, or whatever, do it now. "Don't be silly," he told her. "I mean, I was created to be powerful as well. I mean, I was specifically bred to be the way I am. But it's okay because I know that the real power comes from whether or not you know how to use it! That's something no one else can give you." Herald listened to Emma as she commented on Mirai and Texas. "Well, so do I," he told her, glancing back at her as they walked. "It's a powerful element in battle, though the fact that they both have it would make it easier for them to combine attacks." He paused for a moment when he heard Emma. "Yes, that would be interesting," he said thoughtfully, though at the moment he was unsure how they would do that.

Mirai stared at Texas as he talked to her. She smiled and nodded slightly "Good point." She said. Her gaze went towards where Fatalis was. "It is just difficult thinking positive when I am criticized for everything." She said. She looked at Texas "Sorry you get dragged into that stuff." She told him.
Emma laughed at Herald's response before looking around "Regardless of who the doll is, I don't like him." She muttered, her ears pinned slightly.

While they was in the sloth chapter, an orb of darkness enveloped only Fatalis and Nariaki - blocking the noise from the outside. After listening to the cat being and feeling his little hand on his head, he slightly lifts up his head and then stop. "...It'll be a miracle if he finds that person for me." The vampire mutters. N - Kishin[Black / White] N 's hand slid across the black orb the doll and Nariaki resided in as he backed away from it. He heard everything through the shadow exhibited in the orb. The events happening within were double edged. Fatalis was able to bring Nariaki from her depression, which felt good, but only the doll was able to do so. Was a dependency on someone to be loved from so important to Nariaki...? The situation only cemented N's feelings on himself. He was just a means to a end, and wasn't capable of helping people even if he put his all into it...
After all... He was just a weapon.
N surged ahead of the group, his shadows still for once as he moved ahead. They didn't twist or coil, they didn't take any time to look at anything in their usual curious manner. In all reality, he was trying to distance himself from Nariaki. But he slowed, knowing he couldn't continue by himself even though he wanted to. He had a purpose to fulfill. Slowing down to Mirai, and without looking to her, he spoke. "Not much further, right...?" O.C.C:

Mirai looked at N when she saw him come near her and speak. "Yeah... we should be close to the portal now." she told him. She glanced back towards the black orb. It seemed that N got blocked out from trying to help Nariaki, at least that is what it looked like to Mirai. She looked up at him again "Um... would you like to join the team I am making?" she asked, trying to cheer him up since it looked like he was bothered "It consists of me, Texas, Herald, and Emma. It would be cool to have you on our team since you have done a good job on this mission so far." she said with a smile.

N - Kishin[Black / White] N thought he could be free of the effects of the sloth chapter... Hearing this, he knew it's what he needed. To further his goal. A group to tackle issues with... But everything felt pretty hollow. N shook his head. "No... Not yet. I will prove my usefulness when we are in the center of the book. Whether or not I fail there will be the deciding factor if I join your team. Is this alright?" It wasn't that N didn't want to be a part of the team, not at all, it's just that he felt he didn't wouldn't have the right if he wasn't able to protect them. O.C.C:

Mirai blinked before nodding "That is understandable..." she said before looking towards where the doll was again then back "Sorry about the doll... I don't know why my mother sent him if he was going to be a jerk to almost everyone in the group..." she said. She tiredly rubbed her eyes again, still thinking back to the words Fatalis said to her. "That only made things harder in the long run... I hate it..." she muttered under her breath.

N - Kishin[Black / White] N 's hand landed on Mirai's head, pulling her head back up. "Please don't give up on me as well... He is at least serving a purpose." He meant helping Nariaki, of course, even though it was hurting him the most. "Just let everything else wash over you, his words are unimportant." N released Mirai, then turned forward. What he was saying felt to dig into himself even more, feeling that no matter how hard he pushed he couldn't help anyone. It felt somewhat pointless saying this to Mirai even now... But N persisted.
