"Ummm... Maaaaaaayyybe..." Her cheeks turned red. "I don't have very much time to come up with good ones."
"Okay," The cyclops waitress came back, sitting their drinks on the table, in front of them. "What would you like to eat?"
"Umm..." dang, she hadn't had enough time to think! "Do you have lutefisk?" The waitress nodded. "I'll have that."

He still just laughed, "You're so cute." he smiled at her.
The waitress smiled and turned to him, "And for you?" she asked.
Motthew thought for a moment, absently stirring his tea "Hmm.." he looked at her and smiled. sitting up "Soup. Whatever specialty you've got."
"Coming right up." the waitress smiled and walked off again.

She bit her lip. What was she supposed to do now?! She didn't think this through! She bounced up and down a little. "So... Tell me about yourself?"

He took a drink of his tea, blowing it a little to cool it. He glanced up at her as he set his cup down and smiled, his antennae twitching "About me? Hmm..." he folded his arms and smiled at her "Well, where should I begin?"

Motthew smiled and looked up as he thought for a moment. He looked at her "As far as family goes, its just me and my dad." he explained, "He's a pretty cool guy, a bit clingy at times. But I think he just gets lonely. He doesn't talk about mom much, but I think I remember him saying he'd wish she came back." he shrugged "I dunno. I think they had a fight or something. I don't remember her really."
He smiled, "As for free time, I usually like counting the stars. Or fencing." he laughed "You know, back in Point Pleasant, where I came from, I was a champion fencer." he grinned "No one could defeat me!"

"Fencing sounds so fun! Too bad I don't have the time," she winked and laughed, taking a ship of her water.
"I have a pretty big family, though. My mom and dad live out in the arctic with my family who still stay home. You've met my brother Doran," she smiled. "He is a great little kid. His twin is nice too, but she's a shy one. There are two younger than him, one younger than me, and one other than me. So in a way, I'm kinda the middle child." She scratched her head.
"I live with my aunt and uncle. Mother's side. They've lived in Salem for years, and my parents let me come down to look for a school. I hadn't head of monster high until then. Maybe it's because Seven Seas High didn't publicize other schools," she shrugged.

Motthew chuckled and smiled at her. He drank some more of his tea as he listened to her, "Sounds like you've got a pretty big family." he said. "I've always wondered what it was like. It can be lonely." he smiled, "But, I'm glad dad told me about Monster High."
He smiled, looking at her, "So, what do you have time for?" he chuckled, "What do you do for fun?"

"Well... I'm on the swimming team at monster high. That's about as far as sports as I go. As far as hobbies, I like to design fashion. I designed Marceline LaGhede's Tombcoming dress," she nodded. "It was a disaster to make, but it looked great on her. I design some of the clothes that I wear."

She chuckled. She love getting to know Motthew more. Soon, their waitress appeared again with a tray of food. She smiled, suddenly feeling how hungry she was. The waitress placed a basket infront of her and a bowl infront of Motthew. "Thank you."

Motthew smiled, looking at the waitress "Yeah, thanks." he said. He looked down at the soup, which was an odd shade of yellow. He grinned "It looks pretty good."

Motthew tilted his head as he stirred his soup. He smiled as he lifted the spoon and tasted it. He couldn't quite pin point the taste...nor the weird texture...but it sure tasted good! He smiled as he drank more of it down, glancing up at Doriana.
"How's the lutefisk?" he asked.

Tuesday Afternoon, during Parent-Creature Conferences...
With conferences going on at school and the student bodies given a day off, Marceline was putting in hextra hours at the Coffin Bean; mostly she did it out of boredom, but she liked having her own money, money that she earned, to spend at her leisure over Fangsgiving break. The morning was slow, apart from the early work rush, and Marceline managed to get the back gloom of the cafe more organized than it's ever been. She had just started wiping down the coffin bar when Dashner strolled in and sat down.
"I didn't think y'd be up this early on a vacation day!" Marceline smiled as she fired up the hexpresso machine, and pumped a few squirts of sunflower seed syrup into a ceramic mug. "I assume your us'al latte?"
Dashner nodded. "With hextra whipped scream!"
"What kinda beastie would I be if I didn't give you hextra whip?" She said just before pulling the leaver for the steamer, and filling the cafe with the shrill squealing of frothing milk. Her smile faltered slightly as she minded the temperature... what kind of beastie had she been to Dashner of late? With the falling out they had, followed by the circus debacle and the beginning of her courtship with Rory, she began to realize how much they'd grown apart since the summer. Topping the latte with loads of whipped scream, and a sprinkling of crushed sunflower seeds on top, she set the mug down in front of Dashner and resumed wiping the counter.
"So rumor has it," She sighed, letting go of the bar mop and resting her head in her hands. "If the Ghostly Gossip is a credible source... Dr'conia and Manny broke up. Nothing to it, just... grew apart I guess."
"Yeah, I heard." Dashner sipped his latte, careful not to get whipped scream on his beaky nose. "It's a total shame, yo. They were such a fearsome couple!"
"I wouldn't've said that..." Marceline grabbed her towel again and resumed cleaning. "I mean, sure they got along and all, had a lot in common... but somethin' about them always seemed mismatched to me. I dunno, up until just a few weeks ago I had no clue what was what in r'lationships, so I'm not one to judge... anyway, I'm sure she'll find someone new by the time prom rolls around. She's a gore-geous ghoul, what manster in his right mind wouldn't want to date her, right?"
Dashner twirled his finger in his whipped scream, seeming preoccupied... or at the very least uninterested in what Marceline was saying. She cleared her throat.
"Anyway, how's your mama doin'? She got in yest'day, right?"
