She sure felt...sleepy?

Yeah, that was it. She was standing, but it was all she could do to blink madly in the hopes of staying awake, even with the loud and unfamiliar voice yammering about fear and weapons and fighting. (Cassandra could not for the life of her remember choosing to fight, so she was fairly certain the voice was lying.) She scratched her neck, or tried to, and realized she was wearing a high, stiff collar, and - and yeah she couldn't remember putting this outfit on either.

She yanked her eyes open with her thankfully bare hands, looked upon her teal-painted nails in confusion, and looked back down at the rest of her body. Which was wearing a poofy skirt and - okay wow those green straps led to an empty turtle shell on her back. (Turtles!!)

What was a turtle shell doing on her back? It was rather heavy!

She swung it off, stumbling to the side a little as she did so - she'd forgotten to balance. And stuck her hand inside, only to realize it wasn't empty after all - there was something long and hard in there. Uh, that was, there was a boomerang in there. She pulled it out with one hand, clutching the shell to her chest as she did, and stared at it. It was teal-colored, like her outfit, but definitely carved of bone, and with...arbitrary spikes on the end?

Cassandra was so confused. She wasn't even sure how she'd gotten here in the first place, or...or where she'd been before!

Bright blue eyes opened only to blink in surprise at the creature in front of her that spoke to her. "I'm doing fine and you?" She asked out of hidden reflex then pushed a few stray hairs from her face the paused. "Where am I? How did I get here? Why am I in these clothes?" She would have continued on but was interrupted by the creature. Didn't remember anything? Pretty much summed it up. All she could remember for sure was her name, Kasumi.

She looked to the left to see a oval like item when it was mentioned and picked it up as she continued to listen. "I see. So I get to protect the balance." She guessed it made sense after all she couldn't remember any thing else. A grin slowly made it's way across her face in excitement but she wasn't sure of what. Protecting something or fighting.

She looked around at those around her and her grin grew.

Vatatchi
"Well, I wasn't screaming" muttered Vatachi unhappily at Mairea's comment.
The Meek little Fire mage with the bow told her off. Oh s**t. Her language was that bad?
Ugh. Fine. She'd tone it down, but only because the little orange haired girl- Macy- was so f***ing cute.
Sorry. Cute.

before turning her eyes to her lotus staff thing.

She gave it an experimental swing. It felt like a part of her, down to it's pretty little flowery ends. A twirl- it had great balance and- she let it spin some more, dancing with it a bit.
Yeah. She had the hang of this. She took a more stable grasp of it.

"I think I got this." she said with a smirk.

And then one of the girls let loose some serious wind. She shoved the horribly inconvenient skirt down and glared.
"Watch where you point that d... that thing Aria!" she snapped, but good naturedly. This would be interesting, oh yeah. Even if she had to censor her language.

"Yeah, I got that F... That lecture too."
This was harder than she thought.

Now what was supposed to happen, anyway? She rumbled something at Steel leaderbitch (hey, she was gonna use cute nicknames. In her head. Or maybe this girl was special. What the hell, she didn't know.), but didn't shout anything more.
Though...

"... It means we know nothing, is what it means..." she grumbled, trying not to shout so much.
Odd as it seemed, she didn't want to upset anybody.

````
She moved a ways away from the group while everybody talked and practiced her swings on her own, trying not to hit anybody, even Steelbitch... oh fine, Zelda.
It was a relaxing movement and... yes... the flowers released a soft, sweet scent with each pass and twirl. She lidded her eyes, getting into the movements of the quarterstaff.
She was in a strange place.
Swing
She had no memories
Swing
There were lots of girls in the same situation
Swing
Okay. She collected herself. Yeah, she could deal with it. She could F***ing deal with it. Yeah.
She noticed another girl stirring with a scythe.
"Hey there." she said to Ally, "Welcome to we-don't-know-what-the-F***-ville."
Oh man, she cursed again,
"I'm Vatachi and apparently not in charge." she said snidely, resting her staff on her shoulder- it smelled very nice actually.
"What about you?" she held out her hand to the girl.
But she's really just hiding the fact that she is scared all to hell.
Headaches were not Blodwedd's favourite thing in the world, admittedly. The dull ache behind her temples pulsed continuously as she cradled her head upon stirring, to see a creature that was asking her how she was. Taking stock of herself, she admitted, "I suppose I've been worse."
She undid a white ribbon from around one wrist and used it to tie her hair away from her face. "Please do remind me, if you would be so kind," Blodwedd agreed. She was disoriented, sure, but she was rolling with the punches. She should, above all, be polite: she had no idea what this creature was, where she was, or what had happened. Wouldn't do her any good to be rude.
"To fight? Why? What did I fight against?" Blodwedd asked, her blue eyes watching the creature carefully. She eyed the object next to her, chewing on one lip idly.
There was a gold staff behind her, with a cat collar dangling from the top. It was embossed with the word Mogget, whatever that meant, and adorned by a gold bell that rang as she moved the staff. "So I'm fighting on behalf of the good FEAR?" Blodwedd asked, though she had, by now, realized that the creature would likely never answer her.
Blodwedd felt a sense of fear well up inside her. "Are you sure that I can save them? That I can save anyone...?" she asked, gripping the staff to her. She shut her eyes briefly, and took deep breaths, puffing her cheeks out every time. There was nothing for it: she'd have to save the Humans.
"Well, that's that, then, I suppose," Blodwedd said. "If only I had a better name," she lamented, in passing.
The first thing she would do, of course, was see if anyone knew any more than she did. She approached a very enthusiastic looking girl, and asked: "Pardon me.. I am Blodwedd, and I am most pleased to meet you, but you wouldn't happen to know what's going on, would you?" she asked. Blodwedd clasped her hands in front of her and bowed her head in greeting to the stranger and any of the other girls around them.
A rabbit was talking to her. The rabbit's mouth wasn't moving.
It wanted her to take an egg. This seemed like it should be familiar and maybe relate to a sort of holiday, but she couldn't remember. She snatched up the egg before anyone else could take it.
"I wanted to, huh?" She said suspiciously, stuffing the gem down the front of her outfit. "Wanting to fight sounds like me. Maybe."
She'd play along. For now.
"Hello Taika, Macy. And... you said your name is Narcissa?" Her frown turned into a full-on scowl. She nodded towards Narcissa. "I think she's got a good point. Hopefully this will all make sense once we know a little more."
When the timid girl managed to voice her thoughts, Tara looked completely unimpressed at her willingness to just blindly believe... but she softened considerably at the end. "I can agree with that, Macy. If we're going to be fighting, I'd rather have some friends, so I can trust someone - or several someones - to watch my back." She finally allowed a small half-smile, directing it at the other girls around her.
Isabelle started to smile, but paused when asked about her name. "Oh its umm... Isabelle. You can just call me Izzy though." It was strange how she could remember her name and yet literally everything else was a blank slate. Strange and a little unnerving. She wasn't sure how she should even feel about it. Then again, there was also little point in brooding over it. "You are?" She asked, offering them a friendly smile.
Her question could have been directed to all three of the girls present. In fact, it probably was. At this point just getting to know even a handful of the people seemed like a priority for her. Perhaps they knew more and would even be able to tell her more about what exactly was going on.
Taking hold of the shield, she fussed with it, and after much effort, managed to de-summon it, staring at the odd egg-shaped gem now in her hand.
This... was going to take some time getting used to...
Her head snapped up when she heard footsteps, and turned to see another girl approach them.
With some concentration, she managed to change the gem's form once more, this time into a ring, and she lifted her hand to give a wave.
"HI Blodwedd, my name's Adelaide. It's a pleasure to meet you too."
At this, she did a small curtsy, but her smile faltered slightly at the girl's question.
"I'm.. afraid not." She sighed, shaking her head. "It seems we're not the only one..."
A pause, and she stared at the girl.
"I don't suppose a strange familiar approached you also, telling you something about good and bad FEAR, and having to fight?"
Another someone was talking to her. She was met this time by another girl, thank goodness, who spoke nothing of implications or things she doubted or felt that she'd never really believe.
For a while, Danitza just stared at her, eyes still wide and observant. She watched as the other girl responded, as the two interacted, still saying nothing.
Her mind was busy at work, however, darting through possibility after possibility of what she might do. She could punch them. She could fight, like the thing had suggested. She could do nothing.
She could introduce herself.
"Hi there," she repeated. "Danitza." The word - the name, had spilled out of her mouth before she had the opportunity to try to recall what her name might even be. Good enough. As an afterthought, she tapped her chest, hoping that it might connect the name with her.
And she waited again, blinking once, slowly, curious to see what might fill the silence.
She was still pondering things when another girl (there sure seemed to be a lot of them in the general vicinity) came bounding over to her.
"Oh! Hi!" The smile that grew on Ally's face was natural as they come. She was almost surprised by her own delight. "Nice to meet you, too. I'm...Ally." She said the name slowly. She'd known it was her name, but saying it out loud...it somehow made it seem more real. "I think, I think I did lose something. I don't seem to remember anything." The fact that she was not worried by this development still seemed to evade her.
"Oh, um, thank you," she replied to the comments on her weapon. Even as she did so, she leaned forward to take a better look at the creature her new friend was showing. A ghost? Ally didn't know how that could be a weapon. It was cute, but weren't weapons different? She decided to voice these thoughts. "It's a cute little thing! But how--"
There was the sound of metal on metal as something made contact with her scythe. The unexpected impact was a bit jarring, and it nearly sent Alley tumbling to the floor. Luckily for her pride, that did not happen. "I'm fine," she nodded as another girl came running up, apparently chasing after whatever had just hit her. "Nothing to worry about." Another genuine smile grew on her face.
A smile she turned on the next girl to give her a greeting. "Thanks, I suppose. It is good to know I'm not the only one clueless here."
She shook her head slowly, allowing her eyes to drift open as she took stock, so to speak. "Surprisingly...not bad." She felt a little light-headed, but other than that, everything seemed to be in good working order. She wasn't sure why this was surprising, exactly--perhaps because when someone tended to ask you how you were feeling, it was because the situation dictated that you should be feeling just this side of death...
Sitting up, she smoothed down her frilly clothing, enjoying the silky texture of it, and the delicate details, before shifting her attention back to the present...and the odd situation she found herself in.
Wait, why were they asking how she was feeling? Had she been sick? She wracked her brain, her eyes shifting from side to side as she tried to figure out how she'd gotten...here. More importantly than that, even...why couldn't she recall anything leading up to here, either?
Her brow furrowed as she intently sought to remember something...really, anything, and she almost missed the beings next remark.
"Please, yes..." Her mental flailing eased, a bit, as she grasped her name. Ashleigh. It felt right, a connection to herself, even if she couldn't find any other part of said connection, at the moment. With this small success, she was able to focus more completely on what she was being told.
"I chose to...really? What exactly did I choose to fight for?" She narrowed her eyes slightly, trying to remember when she'd chosen to do anything. Finally, with a small, self-directed sigh, she decided to worry about the whys and wheretofors later--this seemed like it was more important, for the time being.
"Fear...and a Reaper?" She thought about it briefly. It was a familiar term, the kind that one didn't necessarily actively remember, because it was such an ongoing presence in one's life. Nodding, accepting that there was some truth in what she was being told, she inclined her head slightly, encouraging the...creature to continue.
Listening further, she frowned, looking around for the 'weapon' in question...Ah, there it was, pressed up against the side of her leg. It was a scythe, not as long as she was tall (but fairly close), and looked like a large snake, with two blades/fangs. Tugging, and twisting slightly at the same time, she was pleased to note that the lower blade came loose, attached to a smaller handle that fit comfortably in her hand.
Okay, so clearly I do have some familiarity with this...weapon. And I have no reason to doubt what i'm being told, which makes me a Reaper, who apparently opted...to try to save the humans by restoring some large-scale cosmic balance.
She blinked, hardly noticing when the being disappeared from sight. Good thing I didn't sign up for anything difficult...
Looking up, she opened her mouth to ask how, exactly, she was supposed to do anything along those lines...and realized she'd missed her window. When she looked around, though, she was pleasantly surprised to see that she wasn't occupying this space alone--there were a number of other girls, dressed in similarly pretty clothing, some already involved in conversation with other girls, and some looking as shell-shocked as she felt. Taking a deep breath, she straightened slightly. She might not have her memories (although she was sure that if she kept trying to remember, eventually they'd trickle back), but she could still work toward saving the humans...and restoring the balance. After all, too much of anything is bad, right?
She frowned again, getting to her feet and slowly making her way to where a number of the other girls were clustering up. Now where did that thought come from, I wonder?" She couldn't even remember more than the last five minutes, and already she was finding her lack of memories vaguely irritating.
It took nearly all her effort to suppress these questions, doubts, fear...
No, she was sure everything was going to be fine. No, it WILL be fine. Even if they did have to fight, there were... so many of them! Surely whatever they were up against stood no chance. There was always strength in numbers, right?
Unaware of the thoughts in the other girls' minds, she turned when greeted again, tilting her head and giving the dual-coloured haired girl a pleasant smile.
"Hi, I'm Adelaide."
Then, seeing the girl tap her chest, she followed suit, believing it was her form of greeting.
And then she paused, seeming to be lost in thought again.
"So.. Danitza, I don't suppose you know what's going on here?"
Hearing the girl she almost decapitated give her name, she turned and gave her a few more apologetic smiles.
"It seems... a lot of us are left in the dark here... I only wish we were given more to work with..."
If only life came with an instruction manual.
Orabel figured it was high time to stop with watching people, and decided to enter into the fray. She walked forward, feet shifting in her shoes rather delightedly as she stared around at the others greeting each other.
But what would she say? Delighted to meet you sounded far too formal, and anything else just felt like it fell short.
She approached the nearest group and adjusted her glasses as she stood idly by, waiting to be noticed or at least acknowledged that she was there.
"I'm Connie!" she told the other girls. "And I guess I can't really remember anything else at all." She lowered her sword, balancing it on the tip of its longer lip. There was something, that one thing that she had called out for when she had opened her eyes, but for the life of her, she couldn't recall what that had been now either. "It's very nice to meet you two, even if we don't know stuff." She reached behind her back where her weapon had been, freeing her gem from where she had tucked it under her dress's sash. "These beat anything I could have remembered anyway, probably." She pet the odd red egg, her attention captivated by it momentarily. When she looked up again, she glanced over and gave Tatiana a clumsy wave of her full hands, whether the other girl was looking or not.
"Etain, Anna? That's Tatiana! She isn't bleeding."
