"Auntie, wait!" Laurel cried out as she hurried after Ruby.

Ruby turned back at both Umbra and Laurel. "I'm goin' to that." She pointed at a pillar of smoke that could be seen up in the horizon. "I figure if anythin' it could be some stray folks, or it could be some grey folks. I take it I'll be havin' some tag-a-longs." She smiled apreciative, but refusing to say so.

Of course I'm coming, Aunt Ruby. We're family, aren't we? And Umbra's...a friend, right Umbra?

Umbra grinned from behind his mask. "Of course you will, I can't let you just wander out there all by yourself, what if something happened to you? Who would be there to point and laugh?" He said, completely ignoring Laurel.

Ruby stuck out her tongue at Umbra, but followed with a chuckle.
Her grin died down as she turned to see who Laurel was greeting. "H'llo," She smiled, but stepped backward, waiting to see if this person was friend or foe.

((Hey, ED, I guess posting "This is a literate community" wouldn't go too far amiss.))

Xeen Soldevi ((Hey, ED, I guess posting "This is a literate community" wouldn't go too far amiss.)) ((yeah yeah, although according to the categories we're actually more of a semi-lit. But that's okay, because a lot of the "literate" posts I've come across are usually pretty crappy in writing technique and quality. It's a focus on making things too long and putting in enough adjectives to make me croak, and usualy has less interaction between characters. Just reading the examples, when I looked up RP categories, made me want to get out my red editing pen --althouhg mine is purple, because it's less scary to people--. They also forget that half the meaning of literate is the ability to read. They should have more faith in the imagination of their readers and quit adding so many damn distracting adjectives and adverbs. wow...I must have been needing to get that out. Of cours, this is also coming from a writer, and not necessarily an RPer, so I have to remind myself they are different in some ways. ...anyway, I'll go add that to the front page.))

Umbra tightened the grip on his longsword, and took a step away from the newcomer. "Your name?" He grumbled.

((A lot of RPers add so many goddamn adjectives because they think it makes them cool, and aorginal. When doing forum RPing I think it's important to know how to write more in the form of a story than anything else, because, in most reguards, the whole thing is one big improv story, not an episode of DBZ. We don't need glit and glam, just a plot, chareters and the like.

(I don't think Jezzufae is coming back anytime soon)
Ruby gave a soft shrug and continued walking towards the smoke, which was filling the air even more. (thanks to Spritey's destruction of the camp)
She took a deep breath and broke into a steady run, her feet moving and jumping across rubble and holes instinctually, like any good wild runner would know how to do.

Ruby St.Claire (I don't think Jezzufae is coming back anytime soon) ((I think she was looking for Mackie...I should probably change his siggy))Laurel allowed the Shadow Cloak to manifest, and took to the air, following Ruby about 10 feet off the ground.
