Ca just leaned into Paimon and made no move towards his Chosen despite eying him as he interacted with the human female at her side. She rolled her eyes when Paimon copied her single-word statement, playfully flicking him with the ear he'd nipped at.
Manga stirred when shaken, sleepily blinking for a minute before looking around. "... Oh." She smiled sheepishly as she looked up at Sebastian. "Good morning?" She'd meant to go back inside; she really had. But between Bonding, having an episode courtesy of her brand, and having already disturbed Thal enough for one night, she just ended up sleeping where she was... "You might have to help me up." She had a feeling doing so herself would be difficult.
Tkal blinked, frowning as he watched, following after his brother. "... Thal?" The elf's expression was making him a bit uncomfortable...

[AIM Log]
Paimon grinned at his mate and loped his head over the base of her neck in a cuddle-ly like way.
Sebastian nodded and looped his arms underneath her body, picking her up bridal style. "The girls were worried about you..." He said softly, kissing her cheek before turning out of the stall, nodding his head at Paimon and Ca before he left
Thal looked at his brother, his expression calm and unreadable, though his body was tight. He was achy and tired, and wanted to get back home to his wife, and not be around so many humans. Aila and Kyri were about all he could take for long extended periods of time, and that was only because he fully trusted them with his life, whereas, with Manga and Sebastian, he was constantly second guessing their motives
-------------------------
Ca smiled and nuzzled back against her mate in an equally cuddly way, though she kept one eye on the two humans until they left the stall.
Manga closed her eyes as she leaned into Sebastian's hold and let him carry her. "I'm not surprised. The last time I disappeared I was pretty battered when I came back." She sighed quietly, opening her eyes and glancing over at Thal and Tkal for a minute before continuing. "I don't plan on doing anything like that again. I'm not built for that type of job."
Tkal's expression matched his brother's and for a while, he was silent too. Then he grinned at Thalanir. "You're too serious. You need to relax a little."
-------------------------
Once the humans had left, Paimon cracked an eye open and poked Ca.
Sebastian simply shook his head as he carried her inside, ignoring the two elves/' 'bodyguards' that seemed to be talking or something. "You better not.." Sebastian all but growled
Thal looked at his brother. "Like what...?" He asked warily
-------------------------
Ca raised an eyebrow at Paimon and poked him back.
That got a smile out of Manga. "Getting possessive?" she teased. She lightly rested her head against his chest, relaxed.
Tkal blinked, tilting his head. "What do you mean, 'like what'? I mean relax." He pulled out a piece of wood and began whittling it. "Even fighting can't be done without being a little relaxed."

Sebastian shrugged and kept his eyes averted from her. "Perhaps.. Or maybe you just have a habit of getting yourself into trouble..." He said.
"Bond?" Paimon asked inquisitively, trying to pry information out of his mate.
"How do you suggest I relax?" Thalanir asked, watching his brother cautiously

The smile widened. "Only recently. Certain individuals tend to attract it..." And at the moment, Manga was surrounded by them. Sebastian, the twins, Tkal... they drew attention whereas she usually averted its gaze unless she wanted it. But it wasn't too bad... in an isolated area like this, it didn't matter; the only attention they could draw was from each other. "... Are Bonded and their Chosen always this similar?" she mused quietly, mostly to herself. She was still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that there was another consciousness directly connected to hers.
Ca Thu Thi nodded slowly. "Couldn't sleep. Went for walk." Shifting slightly, she continued, "Same with her. ... Started raining--came in here." Then... something happened. Manga started having seizures or something. Ca had only put her teeth around the woman's wrist to attempt to find the problem, but when she pulled away, the connection just... stayed open. The words her adopted father had once told her in a story came flooding from her mind into that of the tormented human. It was strange... strange in so many ways.
Tkal tilted his head, not even looking at his work as he whittled. "In whatever way that will let you relax. Everyone has something different. Manga reads or draws, I whittle wood..." He held out the finished piece, a wooden figurine of Thalanir. "Everyone has something different."

Sebastian shook his head. "No.. not usually. Paimon and I are vastly different from each other... If it hadn't been for the call, Paimon would probably have killed me from the start..whcih would have been easy at the time..." He said, thinking about that moment and how close to death he had truly come.
Paimon nodded and nuzzled his mate. "Are you happy?" He asked, needing no more information than that.
Thalanir grunted. "its hard to relax with so many damned humans around..."

Manga opened an eye to look up at him. "You don't seem that different to me. There are differences, but there's quite a few similarities as well..." The brown iris was sleepy but intelligent and thoughtful.
Ca nuzzled her mate back with a smile. "Very." It was all she could really say. Words couldn't express this feeling that had spread from hoof to snout.
Tkal withdrew his hand, carefully pocketing the figurine. He stood there, silent for several moments before speaking up. "... Should I leave then?"

Sebastian went inside, brushed past Alfred, whom he was still irritated at for calling him master and made his way to Manga's room, where the twins were on the ground playing with some dolls they had found. "Girls, go into the main room and ask Alfred to feed you breakfast." He said as he set Manga down on the bed.
Paimon grinned and nuzzled her again. "Ca... I have a very serious question for you..." He said slowly.
Thalanir looked up at his brother. "Why should you leave?" He asked in confusion.

Manga smiled at the twins, noting the worry on Emmalyn's face. "I'm fine," she reassured them. "Just tired."
Emmie's expression went from worried to relieved. She nodded and hurried after Maddie to follow Alfred to the kitchen.
Ca blinked slowly, looking up at Paimon with innocent curiosity. She tilted her head, obviously waiting for his question.
Tkal was quiet for another moment before finally replying. "Because we're half-brothers." He looked up--way up--at his taller younger brother. "I'm a halfling." He suddenly grinned, his demeanor changing into something almost sickeningly cheerful. "My father was a human, so I would bother you too, right?"

Sebastian nodded and curled up on the bed next to her, cradling her in his arms. "Sleep then. Or you can stay awake and maybe sleep better this evening... Did you have an episode last night?" He asked softly, tucking his head into the crook of her shoulder as he whispered calmly.
Paimon blushed and looked away, suddenly second guessing if he should ask. "Are... you expecting?" He asked quietly, finally.
Thalanir eyed his brother. Half? He hadn't realized that Tkal was a halfling... not that he had a problem with halflings. He had not met a single one that had tried to hurt him... Only pure humans. He shook his head. "No... you don't bother me, Tkal. You're my brother." He answered simply.

Manga sighed as she contently snuggled in Sebastian's hold. "Already awake... can't sleep now." She nodded to his question. "Ca and I had just taken shelter from the rain... that's probably why Thalanir was so mad at me..."
Ca Thu Thi smiled in amusement, nipping at his mane so he'd look at her again. She nodded once he did, pumpkin-colored eyes sparkling.
"But it bothers me." Tkal didn't lose the smile, but the cheerful expression evaporated from his eyes. "Manga is my best friend. I don't want you comparing her to the lowest of the low because of her race." The smile dropped as his eyes narrowed. "She sure as hell doesn't do the same to you."

Sebastian shook his head. "Don't mind Thalanir.. Its just so hard for him to be around.. well.. us... Especially here..." He went quiet, not sure if he should mention when Thalanir had told him in quiet on their way to the mansion.
Paimon's breath left him and he couldn't breath when he saw that Ca nodded. She./.. was.. expecting... He was going to be a father... a father... Like Ruin was to him... Suddenly darkness clouded his vision as he stood up and shook the hay off his sides, suddenly very angery, scared and confused. What if he was doomed to be a father like Ruin had been? Absent and.. horrible... Or what if his kids... what if they took the darkness that had been bred within Paimon himself and it came out in them? What if Ruin found out and tried to take them too, like he had Huel's children?
Thalanir blinked almost in confusion, then anger overwhelmed him as his jaw tightened. His mind and heart battled each other, his fear and speculation, fight or flight... All crashed into each other in conflict at the same time. "Forget it." He growled, suddenly turning on his heel and marching away.

Manga glanced over at him, brown eyes gentle and calm. "... You know something." It was a statement, not a question. His words said he knew something about Thalanir's situation. It was only a matter of whether he'd tell her or not.
Ca's teeth clamped around Paimon's ear and gave it a sharp tug. She snorted when she released it, giving him a look. She stared him down, as if attempting to enter his soul through their linked gazes and chase out whatever dark thoughts were clouding his mind.
Tkal didn't chase after him. He couldn't bring himself to. Manga would've told him he picked a poor fight, but it was one he thought was worth fighting. Thalanir couldn't feel obligated to stay with Tkal just because he didn't want to leave his brother alone with humans, especially since Tkal thought much more highly of those humans than Thal was capable of. It couldn't be helped. Thal had been so blinded by his hatred that he didn't see--or had ignored--the obvious pain Manga had been in the previous night. Tkal had seen enough of that mentality; he didn't want to see it anymore. Especially not from his own brother.

Sebastian shook his head and sighed. "When he was younger.. he was enslaved by humans.. You knew that.. But the town he was a slave in was maybe a mile out from here... and basically... the government of that town was... My grandfather..." He said softly.
Paimon looked at Ca, the emotions still swirling within him as he shook his head. He let himself succumb to fear as he placed his head on her shoulder, letting his breathing slow and letting his whole being go back to normal before he tried to do anything else

"I see..." Manga sighed and snuggled closer to him. "He could've stayed at Aila's... no one would've held it against him." She sighed again, closing her eyes and resting her head against his. "I just... hope he doesn't take out his anger on Tkal--or vice-versa. The last thing either of them need is to get into a fight..."
Ca let him hide his face in her shoulder, emulating the calm that Manga radiated. She started humming a tune, an old lullaby that had once calmed even her darkest fears. She could only hope that it had the same effect on Paimon. She didn't want him to feel like this...

"He didn't want to leave us unguarded... As much as this place haunts him and as much as it hurts him to help us, we are friends of Aila and he would never forgive himself..." Sebastian replied softly. "And no one can convince him otherwise.
